who is the tag fairy and how does this work? I dont understand the ones I have read.

Perhaps you've read my earlier posts of this weekend where I've been lamenting about not being visited by the tag fairy.On your profile,where it says earning your ears and above your avatar (picture) is where the tag fairy puts things.....
So,for example,you write something funny (or the tag fairy believes it to be so) in your post,and then the tag fairy selects the passage and prints it above your avatar and under "earning your ears".....
If you read through other people's ,you'll get an idea of some things selected by the fairy.......I've been lamenting about not being chosen!
So,does this make sense,hope so?

If I am understanding your question, there are a few ways threads stop.

1. The DIS moderators don't like the direction of the thread or it has served it's purpose they will "lock" it, in effect shutting it down. You will see a lock and any additional posts will not be accepted.

2. Diser's will just stop posting. Topics run thier course and they are just over. If you do a search of say "Taking your child out of school for vacation," you will find many heated debates over the years that finally wore out and if you want to add your 2 cents, you're more than welcome. It will bump that thread to the first page for all to see again.

I think alot of people describe themselves as "Thread Killers" because after one of their posts, no one else bothers to post. Sometimes it feels personal, like if you were expecting a responce, other times, it doesn't matter.
