Sorry for a silly question...

Very easy- just follow the signs to the Epcot resort area.

Not sure what you mean? Do you want to know how to get to that area by car or by Disney transportation? The 'Epcot Resort area' isn't really a place, it's just how WDW designates the resorts that are nearer to Epcot. I believe CBR is in that area, as well as the Swan, Dolphin, BWV/BWI, YC/BC/BCV and maybe Pop.

Is there a particular resort that you need directions to?

Reason for asking is no doubt half the time in the evening's we shall be hanging around in Downtown Disney, but would like the odd change by visiting the Epcot Resort Area.

So, basically it's easy to just walk on in and enjoy yourself come evening time as well as the daytime?

If you mean going to the area to walk around the Boardwalk, it's very easy. If you're driving, park at Boardwalk Resort (free to anyone staying on Disney Property) or you can valet for $6 (this may have changed) and then you can walk around the area and visit the restaurants, shops, clubs, etc. We find it very nice to walk around.

If you don't have a car, then (I guess) you would take a bus to TTC and then transfer to a bus to BW. If you are at Epcot already, just exit out the International Gate (by France). Or of course you could take a taxi.

Hope this helps.

If you'll have a car, you can drive to the Boardwalk and park. From there, you can walk to the Swan and Dolphin, and the Yacht Club/Beach Club. Good restaurants at all of those resorts.

If you're using Disney transportation, you'd have to take a bus to a theme park, and then catch a bus to the Boardwalk resort. Note that there are NO buses from Epcot to the Boardwalk or any of the other resorts I mentioned in the last paragraph. From Epcot, you can walk out of the International Gateway and you'll be a short walk to any of the above resorts.

If it were me, I'd probably go with a cab. But don't ask the driver to take you to 'the Epcot resort area', he/she won't have any idea what that means. Take the cab to the Boardwalk, that's where most of the action is.

Have fun! :wave2:

Is this your first trip to WDW?

Maybe you've seen this already but if you go to www.allearnest.com you'll find TONS of information on the hotels, restaurants, and (und the planning sections) transportation. You can't go resort-to-resort on the WDW Transportation system (except the monorail resorts) so the best thing to do take a bus from your resort to the nearest park or the TTC and then transfer to a bus for the resort you'd like to go to. It does take some time. Going to DTD and then transfering takes FOREVER (in my experience.

When we make ADRs for a resort we go to a park near that resort during the day and then take the bus/boat/monorail directly to that resort and then return to a park and either go in or transfer back to the resort.

There is a lot to do on the "Boardwalk" - is that what you mean by the Epcot resort area? There are restaurants/clubs/shops - head to the Boardwalk Resort.

Nope, last time I was there was back in April 1989!

But, it is my wife's first trip.

There are never silly questions....and please do not apologize...we are willing to help..

I went to the Dis and clicked here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1200165

and then went to Disney menus part of that page, scrolled down to see what we had listed for the Boardwalk area.....there are many restaurants there to look at. Also, you have the Boardwalk Resort to walk around, the Beach and Yacht Club Resorts, and then you can walk over to the Swan and Dolphin and check them out. Each resort has their own shopping areas and there is the mercantile on the Boardwalk. Also, people do tend to like the ESPN Club, although I have never gone, it does seem to be a happening place. At night, there is Jellyrolls for entertainment, dueling pianos and lots of singing, and in the Swan Resort, there is Karaoke at night, 9:00pm, I think.

I am sure there is more to do there, but just thinking right now. Also, if you walk towards Epcot, not sure you want to go into World Showcase, but you can enter from the International Gateway side, but you can view some of the fireworks display from the bridge outside the gateway......

To get to the Epcot Resorts and the Boardwalk from Downtown Disney, just take any bus labeled....Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan, or Dolphin. There may be one for for the Boardwalk time shares.

Another alternative would be a taxi. no more than 5 dollars each way.
