Sorcerer pass wirh no blue card?

mine asked me for my number and said he had to VERIFY with DVC, after a few minutes he said DVC said I am ineligible. I am guessing some CM's are skipping that verification?
That's my take on it. I'm just suggesting that the information be a "required field" before the system will process the transaction, and if an override is needed, then it needs to be done by a supervisor and only under limited conditions (so limited I can't think of any off the top of my head).

The problem is at this point, many people have already been able to purchase. I cannot imagine those will not be able to activate.

Oh clearly, the biggest problem now (if Disney even sees it as a problem) is the fact that so many have been allowed to purchase Sorcerer Passes. There's no way I see Disney pulling the plug now. At best, they give some limited time to still purchase if you're a white card holder (say 30, 60, or 90 days), at worst they write the year off and start enforcing next September (including not honoring renewals).

All they have to do is say that those AP's were sold in error. That's what MS has been saying all along about the sales that have happened. Previously it was possible to buy the Gold Pass and then have it revoked when the person went to activate it. Personally, I don't care either way. Sell them to everyone, whatever. I just think it will go back to normal soon as they likely want this to be one of the differences they can push when trying to sell direct contracts.

That all makes total sense, and I'm sure that no matter how they move forward, that is how it will be framed. Their only hurdle is that it will be pointed out to them, repeatedly and loudly on multiple platforms, that the passes "were sold in error, over a weeks-long period, after being notified of the situation by numerous parties through myriad channels". It will boil down to a PR evaluation: keep the current natives happy and build some potential good will (although that part is unlikely if eventually the discount returns to Blue Card only, and White Card holders feel leveraged into buying direct), or put the kybosh on it all immediately and use it to entice brand new fresh direct owners.

And don't buy into the whole "it takes time to move up through the corporate structure". That's BS. If Disney is taking a long time to do something, it's because Disney WANTS it to take a long time. Disney is the master of the slow walk. Guest lawsuits, labor negotiations, land and tax negotiations (just ask Anaheim), you name it. Disney moves at Disney's pace. Conversely, if Disney perceives a potential corporate threat, adverse market condition, or negative PR situation, they move at the speed of light.

The "remedy" to the annual pass sales situation was no further than a phone call away, and I am positive that the person charged with dialing that phone has been well aware of the situation for some time now.

I'm surprised the systems aren't somehow linked. The CM that sold me the Sorcerer's Pass over the phone asked me for my membership ID, so I assumed he entered it into some system.

Who knows. Guess I'll find out in 43 days.

I think it verifies you own DVC. The problem is that t doesn’t appear they have a way in the system that shows your membership is not eligible for discounts and the pass without a call to MS.

But, I agree with others who said it should be an easy fix and seems like someway to have it pull up that way so that producing the card isn’t even needed. The system can show that.

As a white card member. If it gets fixed. It won’t entice me to buy direct. They lost that chance when they went above 100 points for the blue card. The savings going resale out weight any benefit of buying direct. In fact I am going in Feb, I am planning on trying to upgrade. Already planning more trips if able and if not just means Disney doesnt get my money but once a year.

Yes!!! Exactly this except I’m visiting in January.

Thanks! This is what I was trying to find. I knew I saw it somewhere. How do you get to that page without the link? If you go to the Member Benefits page (https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/discounts-perks-offers) --> Offers & Benefits --> Tickets & Tours, it takes you to a different tickets and tours page than your link.

I will be going to WDW late October with a 9 day park hopper. I am a white card DVC owner and if I keep hearing reports of people being successful, I will definitely at least try to upgrade my ticket to a Sorcerer's pass.

Might as well, miss 100% of the shots you dont take.

It likely won't stay like this, but man it would be great if it did so I can upgrade my tickets when I'm down in January. I'm a white card member and there's no way I'm paying $1299 for an annual pass. I would however do the $899.

We are going down in January for a short 4 night stay, then June for a week. We are hoping the same thing! Fingers crossed.

You are spot on - they know exactly what they are doing. The question is, when will the rest of us find out.

I Called DVC and was told someone would call me back sometime in the next 14 days. I got a call the next day (Thursday) from DVC and upgraded my 14 day tickets to the Sorcerers Pass over the phone. They are now showing on my Disney World account. After reading some of the comments online I called DVC and asked if they could send me out a White card as I am a resale purchaser from last year and never received one. I was told that they stopped sending them out for new resale buyers sometime ago and I would not need one when I go the Disney springs to collect the passes, I would only need ID. I know there has been some drama with blue cards verses white cards but think yourself lucky, I'm a minus white card 😞

Wait, you are a white card holder and you were able to upgrade directly through DVC? That would be an exciting development.

Edit: You can print the white card up yourself from the DVC website. Just log in, go to your “dashboard” , then click on “Membership Card / Identification”

There never has been a physical white card. It's only available digitally (you can pull it up on your phone or print it off if you prefer).

They never actually sent out cards for those who are not eligible. The white card has always been digital only.

You are the first person I have read about that was allowed to purchase via DVC over the phone

I think you should plan to be sure to go into your account and have a copy of the digital card ready to show. I hate always been asked for both ID and card.

Hi, Yes I called to discuss a reservation I had made for next year and just asked the DVC advisor about doing an upgrade on my existing tickets. He just said I will get a call within 14 days from that department and that is what happened. I remember she asked for my membership number and after the sale I asked if they had called from the ticketing centre or DVC and she said DVC. I checked my phone and it was the 800-800-9800 number.

I have done that now, thanks for the advice. I will also make sure the extra money is in the bank for the higher priced pass just to be safe as I was always going to buy that if I had to.
