SOOOO Frustrated

So, I call today to book a trip for june - i have tremendous flexibility - including resorts & dates. I basically asked for a studio between 6/7 and 6/25 - i was willing to hop through resorts...willing to go to vero (really wanted to actually) - and guess what? the only thing available was 2 weekend nights throughout that entire time! I realize it is the summer, but still - extremely frustrating!

Did it sound like MS called over to CRO to check what was available from the “breakage” inventory which CRO got at the 60 day mark.

do i dare say that i've been a member for quite some time and i do not know what 'breakage' inventory is?

Don't feel bad, I tried to book a studio for 6/22-6/29 over 2 months ago and was only able to get the last three nights. Fortunately it was while the Buy 4 get 3 Nights promotion was still going on and I had no trouble booking a regular hotel room for the week I needed. So I ended up cancelling the 3 nights I was able to get. Now I know that I have to remember to book my DVC room earlier that I use to.

Sorry, at the 60 day till arrival date all DVC remaining inventory is released to CRO, it is called “breakage” inventory (hotel term I guess)

That's extremely short notice esp for a busier time of the year. Breakage is that once you get to 60 days they can give all the unreserved rooms for cash rental. They can even anticipate that inventory and give it over at the 11 month window.

Nope - Breakage Inventory has always been set at 60 days. Any unreserved member inventory is available to DRC at that point. With the current cash incentives (4/3) and the fact that this is a traditionally bust time I'm not surprised there is little available.

I'd still suggest using the waitlist.

Studios go much faster than one bedrooms. Same occupancy, half the points. Did you try for a one bedroom??
