We were in Disney World earlier this summer and my son was recovering from a broken leg (his cast was removed less than 1 week before the trip). He had a cast from his hip to his toes for 6 weeks and is 8 years old. When I left I could not find any information about what we could do and even thought about rescheduling. We are glad we did not. Disney was wonderful. Everyone was extremely nice to him. He loved all the attention. When we went to the parks the first day we inquired at Guest Services what our options were as he really could not walk to well yet. They gave us a red sticker to place on the stroller we had for him that effectively turned the stroller into a wheel chair. It was awesome. On top of that my son was very nervous about walking on the leg. Disney distracted him so much at times that he would get up and start walking. My wife and I both believe Disney probably sped up his recovery. He was walking more than riding by the end of the trip. If anyone else is in this situation do not be afraid to take the child or yourself to Disney. Disney is the best company I have ever seen for people with Disabilities.
