What deals are out there for Halloween candy? I get a TON of kids every year and have bought some of the "nerds" type candy which alot of kids seem to like (I think?)...other than that I thought I would buy some chocolate type stuff (snickers). I saw 11.x oz. size chocolate bags at 2 for $4 at Target. Do you think that's a good deal?

What do you usually buy, how much, and what is a hit with kids (my DS is only 19 mos and is not into candy, at least yet)? What's a good bargain?

I just buy a bag at costco and its about $10.00 I believe. it has a assortment in it..

I buy anything I can get my hands on 2 for $3.00. Usually Rite Aide will run this sale once or twice before the holiday. I went through 17 bags of candy last year, and had to turn my light off 45 minutes early. We have a very busy, busy area.

I mix it up. I buy from Target, WalMart, Big Lots, and Costco.

I give out a variety of hard candies, chocolates, and coupons from Wendy's or 7-11. I offer the older kids some gross type candies, like gummy eye balls and fingers.

I also try to give out some small containers of bubble solution, stickers, and snack packs for the littler one's.

Actually, last year we went to the MNSSHP (I am going twice this year) and I handed out all the candy I didn't want. :)

But normally, I might get something at BJ's, Costco, Sams Club - I remember that a HUGE bag of Tootsie Rolls used to go for $4.00, I'm sure it's a little more now. In the past month or so, I've seen great deals at Sams and BJ's on clearanced candy - so it's good to watch out for that.

As an alternative to candy - (not that I have ANYTHING against candy!) - Costco had a bag of 80 count mini tubs of PlayDoh for $9.99. I thought was a great idea! (I need to go get mine before they sell out!) I know the kids like to get other stuff in their bags besides candy!

That is cool, too - I will be at Costco, so I'll check that out! I am not sure if Wendys is doing it this year, but they have had frosties for .10 or so in the past (a book of 10 for $1.00?) McDonalds has had Halloween promos in the past as well.

Costco had a bag of mixed chocolate fun size candy, 150 pieces but I don't remember what it cost, sorry! They also have 30 count boxes of full size candy bars, we had a coupon for by-on-get-one-free so we'll be giving out full size bars until we run out, then switch to the fun size later if we need to (and if not, the fun size goes with me to work! :) )
