I'm not trying to start a debate on if there is a God or not, but something really special happened this evening that I wanted to share.

I've been having a VERY hard time with my ex lately. He is trying VERY hard to turn my daughter against me. Since he found this new girlfriend, Maddy has become very...well, almost "tainted" by my ex. His girlfriend is helping feed this problem with her.

He called me tonight to give me my nightly update on how Maddy's day was, and said that she didn't want to talk to me. I could hear his gf in the background "prompting" her to speak to me...almost like it was some sort of set up. I was barely on the phone 2 minutes before he hung up, and said that Maddy would call me in the morning.

My bf and I had just sat down to dinner. He asked for my hand across the table, held it, and said that he wanted to try something. While we are both Christians, we've never prayed during dinner before, but we did tonight. He said a prayer thanking God for all that He has done for us, and to please watch over Madison, and to make sure that she is watched over and loved. He also asked Him to help us through this hard time, and to remind us that Maddy loves us.

After dinner, I went to the car to go grocery shopping. My phone rang. It was Madison. She said in a very chipper tone, "Hi Mommy!!" and started babbling on about her day. A moment later, I heard my ex in the background, asking Maddy what she was doing. She told him, "I'm talking to MY Mommy." He told her to stop playing with the phone, went to take it, and I said that I was still talking to her.

My ex then discovered that I was actually on the phone.

He didn't dial the phone for Maddy.

Maddy took the phone, knew which buttons to push, and called me. She's only 3.

I seriously believe that God was watching over us tonight, wanting me to know that Maddy does love and care for me. My ex was very aggrivated that she was talking to me, and promptly had his gf try to "teach" Maddy how to hang up the phone (she was saying, "Here, let Dawn show you how to hang up. Press THAT button."....all the while, Maddy was still telling her she was talking to me).

Sometimes when you think that you're at the bottom, something special like this happens. I just wanted to share. :) It made both myself and my bf cry when we realized what happened.

(Yes I know, long post)

I wont say it. Im glad your daughter wanted to talk to mommy

So ... um ... god told your DD your phone number?
Ooh, sarcasm. That's awesome!!

Have a little faith. While God Himself may not have told her the phone number, she figured out how to work a phone all by her little self. Remember, she's only 3. To me, this just proves that God is helping us through this.

As I said in the beginning, this wasn't meant as a debate. Everyone has their own personal beliefs. I believe that God is watching over my daughter.

I this is not a debate and I'm not ashamed of saying this, nor am I trying to offend anyone.

God is going to see you through this! It's just a test of your will. Keep everyone (including your ex) in your prayers, and God's work will prevail!

Much love for you!

I won't comment on the existance/non existance either, but I think your daughter is a gem. She knows what's going on, she may not get all of it, but she is abviously tuned in to the manipulation game they are playing. The best thing is of course for you to make sure she knows you love her more than anything or anyone, and don't even play up what Daddy or Dawn tell her.

Good for you. My DD is 4 and I understand the capabilities of a 3 year old. Perhaps your phone number was a single key shortcut on your ex's phone. There are so many other explanations than "God did this". And no, I was not being sarcastic. I am just not religiously blinded.

While I don't know about the religious aspect, I think your daughter seems to be a bright girl (and she really is adorable!).

Continue praying and believe that God is truly listening, because He is! Things will work out for all.

Regardless of how it came about, that's great!!! :)

Steph -

Thank you so much for sharing this story. God is here, he is watching over you and your bf, and he is watching over Maddy. That was so sweet of your bf to not only pray with you, but to suggest praying. I will be praying for your sweet daughter that she won't be tainted.

Krista :)

What an awesome story Stefaroonie! I believe that God is watching out for your daughter also. He made that clear tonight didn't He?

I'm so happy for you that your DD was able to call! I have a little one only 5 and I would be heartbroken if her Dad or anyone else was trying to keep her from me or trying to turn her against me. All the best to you!

Jill

It is absolutely wonderful that Madison took the initiative to call you completely on her own. That isn't something most 3 year olds would think about. God's hand was truly shown.

God does answer prayers and God does have reasons for the way things happen. Thank you so much for sharing this story with us and not being afraid to be open about your faith.

Remember also that as your faith gets stronger, Satan gets more angry and it will seem like more and more bad things are happening, and your faith will be questioned. Just remember when you doubt, Satan smiles and when you pray, Satan flees.

I needed this post today. Thanks so much for sharing how God is working in your life, as well as the power of prayer.
