Something's bothering me...

Loved your post Kevin! I listen to the podcast all the time and visit the Disboards numerous times through out the day. I don't post much in this section though. Dreams Unlimited is my travel agency (trip planned for September) and I love them! I would love to attend the meets and cruises but it just isn't possible at this time. Love to hear all about them though.

Loved your post Kevin and they call John a genius. My name is Mary Kay and I am a Podcast listener and avid lurker, nice to meet you all.

Great post Kevin- and wonderfully welcoming sentiment!

I'm just starting to come out of lurkerdom (is that a word?)- as DH & I are signed up for PCC2.0!
I have been a listener for over 2 years, and loved hearing about the first Podcast Cruise- and truly enjoy reading about everyone's experiences and seeing the pictures. The photo of Senor Jorge was priceless- and I can't wait to meet LeftInNorway (and George ;)) on the next cruise! Even my DH (a professional "snorer" himself) thought it was hysterical! :lmao:

It's hard making the leap from lurking to posting- but I can feel how welcoming everyone is and look forward to hanging out here from now on- with a fork in each hand. Like Deb- I like cake AND pie! :cake::banana:

Thank you Kevin.

This place is my safe haven. I treasure all the friends that I have found here and have yet to meet.

Well said Kevin!! :cutie:

I use to feel that the board was daunting especially before PCC 1.0. I tried to keep up with that thread and it was impossible! :rotfl: People here are extremely nice and you just have to make the time to stick your head out! I have been trying to post more and go to chat. I am just glad there are many more disney nuts like me! If we all have Disney in common how will we ever run out of anything to talk about? :grouphug:

To all you lurkers just jump in! :yay: :flower3:

I LOVE your post Kevin. Thank you so much for putting it into words.

Hugs for all of my "computernut friends," every one of whom is willing to extend that hand to pull you in.

:goodvibes

P.S. Think long and hard before you allow yourself to get pulled in though. Take a look at my signature. THAT is what happens once you meet these wonderful people.:rolleyes1

Geez, Dodie, you got sucked into the meets, didn't you? Not that I...oh...uh...hmm. I guess I'm the pot calling you the kettle! ;) I made my food and wine trip during a time that I knew other foodies who post on the restaurant boards were going. And I had planned December around Mouse Fest. (Oops.)

As for the lurkers, every time I see a post, "I'm a new person on these boards, but I feel a little shy replying to people...", I always encourage them to jump in with both feet and reply. I think everyone who stumbles upon a post like that should do the same. :flower3:

The fun thing about the DIS is that the more you post in a board, people get to recognize you. There are many boards where I'm a complete stranger in the crowd, while others, I'm like Norm from "Cheers". It's only a matter of time and frequency of posting that people will eventually "know" you.

Hey my long lost dis friend.
I remember meeting you last December.
We had a great time, I shed a couple of tears the day you were going home.
Waiting for the bus and waiting for the plane by yourself.
I had such an urge to be there and hold your hand.
I can't wait to see you again!
Geez I am crying remembering.
Love you, take care, hope to see you again real soon.

Katherine

Hiya!
Yea that last day was really hard. I did cry while waiting for the ME bus. I remember being there when you finished that LSU blanket and gave it to Julie.
We are trying real hard to be on the next cruise. The medical bills are gonna kill us. They are just now starting to come in. :scared1: But Bob is doing great, so I don't care if they were a million dollars!
We will be in WDW in September though.(already mostly paid for when he went in the hospital) Hoping to meet up with Bex n Gav, they will be there the same time. It will be good to see them again.
Yall take care! I miss you both.
Krissy

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread. :rotfl:

Very well said Kevin!
Your grandma is a very wise lady and obviously you learned from her.
I think we all have proven you right by posting 70 replies in this thread showing we all agree with you.
Thanks for all you (and the rest of the team) do.

Emiel

It's true! A lot of people got confused when I changed my Avatar, most people 'know' each other through them or their signature before they know the name!

I will be there when Becx n Gav are there, maybe you'll see me too! :goodvibes

Kevin, your statement should be added to the welcome to the DIS boards thread as a sticky. Very eloquently said!

Thank you Kevin. I am one of the people who took a long time to jump into the pool. Until the podcast cruise, in my 7 years on the Dis, I had a total of 400 posts. In a little over a year I have 7 times more posts. I have found friends I never thought I would have. I had a blast on the cruise and didn't have to think twice about rebooking to get together with all of the friends I made. And to meet more friends.

Any one who hasn't taken the plunge, come on in, the water's fine.

Kim

Well said Kevin! (and everyone else!)

I have been really busy lately and have really missed checking in around here. :sad1: (darned reality!)

I see a mini-meet forming!!!!

Cool!

Beautiful Kevin and everyone else

I had to go MIA for a couple months due to job, family and computer issues and will admit I wondered if anyone would remember me when I did come back and sure enough I was given a hand and jumped right back in.

Thanks to everyone on the boards!

Thank you Kevin.

This place is my safe haven. I treasure all the friends that I have found here and have yet to meet.

I feel that way too Kathy! Even on FB I have family, friends and school moms and dads that I can't be safe there without starting a nasty rumor mill. I love the Dis boards.

I can't wait to meet TCoke for lunch one weekend! Finally a diser nearby!

Great post Kevin, I have been a lurker on the boards for almost a year now and am just really starting to post. My wife and I are sighed up for PCC 2.0 and I can not wait. I can't wait for the podcast every week and find myself checking the boards several times a day to see what is going on.

Thanks for all the info that everyone gives and it is just like a little family.

I don't do a tremendous amount of posting, but I have always felt very welcome on this board. Kevin, your comments were right on the mark.

That said, I have just convinced my best friend that PCC 2.0 would be a lot of fun -- even though she has no idea what the podcast is and seems somewhat baffled as to my excitement -- and a very economical way to try out cruising. So, I'm officially throwing myself in and looking forward to getting to know lots of you better!

I'm off to request my cruise quote ...

I listen to the podcast religiously (have been since Summer '07, never missed an episode except for the early Universal ones, and was deeply affected by Bob's passing) but never really lurk on the Podcast boards. I didn't get to go on the podcast cruise and haven't been able to do any of the DISunplugged events. However, I count a lot of people on the DISboards as True, True friends (even if we've never met) and am so very appreciative to all of you on the podcast team and especially Pete for founding this site, giving us the podcast (which I know must take many hours and dollars), and my new favorite is DIS radio.

Thanks guys (and gals). I appreciate all of you even though I don't "hang out" on the podcast board I think of myself as part of the "clique". Everyone has different levels of affection for Disney and I can always count on the DIS to provide a place to be among others who share my love for Disney!

:thumbsup2
