Something's bothering me...

Okay, here goes...
:woohoo:
joining in....

Oh, and I like cake (chocolate) AND pie (pumpkin). Fork in hand.

Thanks!

Kevin Gramma was a very wise woman!:thumbsup2
As John and I don't have much in the way of family in the blood sence of the word, we consider this to be our family.
Last December and the TSM meet was a life changing event for us.
We felt like we had something, something very rare.
Everyone is welcome, just extend the hand...:)
Last December was overwelming for me as I was new to the boards.
I asked DH how am I going to remember dis names real names and faces.
Well after a couple of times it just comes natural. :cool1:
There are still some that I don't have down pat..but it will come.
What a large family.
It's a wonderful place to come, when you've had a bad day or a good day.
We are here for you. :thumbsup2

:yay: oh yay! I'm a cool person in a cool clique now! woohoo! I always wanted to be part of the cool crowd. ;) :thumbsup2

I agree completely - well said Kevin!

By the way - I will be stalking you this week at WDW. Friends stalk friends right? :confused3 :rotfl:

You've always been one of the cool kids, just by being here  And of course, friends stalk friends. That is what friends are for!

Welcome Deb!!! Glad you decided to jump in with both forks! (I figure a fork in each hand since you said cake AND pie!)

I have always felt comfortable on the DIS :goodvibes But the Unplugged board is my special place. Thank you for putting into words how we all feel Kevin x :goodvibes

If I haven't said it before, I'll say it now. Thanks for welcoming me into the group and now I feel like one of the cool kids. :)

Ditto, I remember just getting started and feeling a little "left out" at times. Just keep posting and hop in like you know what your talking about. All are welcome and befriended. Stay long enough and we will be married.

I'm another who is not a big contributor on the boards, but a big lurker. I thoroughly enjoy reading all the pie vs. cake banter and about all the good natured fun everyone has with each other. I think that each of us is a gift to each other and we should be thankful this environment is so caring and supportive.

I don't know any of you (well, my brother is a lurker somewhere here too!) at all, but somehow I feel if I poured my heart out on this forum, it'd be met with hugs and words of support and wisdom.

And for that I am truly grateful!!!!! :lovestruc

Did you just offer to be my wife? Cause that is how I read it!

Just wanted to0 say thanks to all of the "lurkers" who have stepped forward and said hello.

I just wanted to let you all know that you are welcome to enjoy the boards in any way shape or form that you choose.

I know sometimes it can seem a bit overwhelming and that everyone knows everyone....but at one point no one knew anyone. We've all gotten to know each other over time.

I should also let you know that CHAT (Wed. night 8pm - 10ish EST) is worse. It's like everyone knows everyone at 300 miles per hour. It's not true. It's all a facade. NO ONE CAN KEEP UP. :) You just jump in and hang on. Eventually, it gets a bit easier, but it's always insanity.

So please...feel free to join in whenever and where ever you feel comfortable.

Thanks again,
Kevin

Very well said Kevin.

Even though I have never met any of the Podcast Team members or any other Dis member, I can honestly say that I have never felt anything but a warm and friendly "atmosphere" here. However, someday I wish to put a face with many of these names. :goodvibes

Thanks for the clarification.:)

I'll get back to you on that after I check with my hubby!! :lmao:

Now, that's what I call a :welcome:

Kevin, thanks for the reminder about chat...I can usually keep up with that stuff so I'll make it a point to stop in and say hello really soon.

You guys are the best. Thanks for the smile on my face. :goodvibes

Chat's pretty entertaining, even when you can't keep up. I'm at work Wed 8-10, and I can sometimes sneak the chat window open here, but I only get to look at it every few minutes or so. Piecing together the 300 mph conversation in snippets makes for some pretty funny out of context stories. :lmao:

I keep hearing the same word being used over and over.

The word is clique.

I keep hearing that there are cliques on the Dis Unplugged Board so I went to Webster's Online Disctionary and found the following:
.

To add to what Kevin is saying, Do not be afraid of sharing differing opinions because the one thing we are not is mindless DIS automatons. I may have a different opinion, like on...hmmmm.....Cake or Pie, Canon or Nikon, briefs or man thong.....We are all individuals with common interests (back off Don, she is not quite my wife, yet!)

But that is what is great about this group! We are from all over the world and see things differently. Just do not smite others to promote an alternate agenda or Paul will sit on ya!

(Paul I saw the Yanks were playing tonight!)

Another Podcast lurker here! I post on some of the other boards but I read this tonight and just wanted to say "well said" to Kevin. I would have to say that I've met some real friends here at the Dis (mostly from the Trip Reports / Pre Trip Reports side) and I do honestly feel that I have friends there, even though we've never met in person.

So I guess this is a 2 part post; a "cheers!" to Kevin and a "Hi, I'm a Podcast lurker :goodvibes" post.

Have a great night everyone!
Katie

I get angry when bully internet cowards mess with my friends. I'm ordinarily a nice guy. Everybody is correct when they say this is a nice place to hang out. I have made some very real friends because of this board. I don't make friends easily so I appreciate the quality people I've met here. :thumbsup2

Awww...sniff...wait...no...I'm good....

Did you get my PM? You should be in bed, you might turn into a pumpkin.

I am a podcast listener for almost two years. I used the disboards for some trip planning. But I had no idea about the disboads :grouphug: community! I only very recently became an active poster on the boards.

From listening to the podcasts, I found out about the Toy Story Midway Mania meet. I was going to be at WDW that week with a non-Disney crazed friend. I was on my computer at the appointed time to sign us both up.

Came time for the meet, my friend was tired and went back to the room. I went to the TSM meet alone. I know there were tons of friendly people there. John, Kevin and Pete greeted me warmly - as busy and harried as they were at the meet. But I just didn't manage to mingle with the people there. I had to ride the ride by myself! (I have written about this before)

I realize now that many of them knew each other only from the boards and may have been meeting face-to-face for the first time. But I didn't know them that way. I wish now that I had made more of an effort.

I have been posting more and sort of know people now. I really look forward to meeting many of you on the podcast cruise.

This is a nice group of people with a common interest - a clique that my friends in "real life" don't understand. But that's okay.

p.s. from the TSM meet, I remember Mindy / Ursula's Shadow - "you know me" on her name tag. I didn't then, but I think I do know!
