We will be at wdw from april 19th to the 28th. We are planning 2 "off" non park days. I am looking for something special to do that wont break the bank. It is myself and my 18 year old grandson. TIA

There are quite a few fun things to do around the various resorts. You could easily spend a day resort hopping. Fort Wilderness has kayaks, canoes, horseback riding, bikes, carriages.

I like the minigolf at Fantasia Gardens. It's good for a couple hours of fun.

Minigolf at either Winter Summerland or Fantasia. Or go to Disney Springs to eat and watch a movie or walk around

Oh, the new Star Wars VR at Disney Springs looks fun. I think it's $30 each.

Try out the various modes of transportation. Ride the monorail loop, stopping at each resort for a specific snack. Take a boat of Fort Wilderness for lunch at Trail's End. Bus over to Disney springs for some shopping then take a boat over to POFQ or POR to explore (and get beignets!) Resort hopping is an adventure in itself.

Try the Animal Kingdom Lodge and go check out the animals and as another poster said resort hop. Every trip we take the girls go into town and I ride the boats to different resorts, ride the monorail and check out all of the deluxe resorts. AKL so went out of their way to show me stuff that our June 18 vacation is going to be there.

Resort hopping is awesome, Disney Springs or the Boardwalk is great for walking around, window shopping, people watching. You could book the Hoop Dee Doo or Polynesian Luau on one of these days, the dinner shows are a bit pricey, but you have to eat & would get a show out of it too. If you & your GS are into it,you could also go to Raglan Road during a time that they have music/dancing.
Have fun!

Go to Disney Springs - you could eat at Splitsville and bowl, then go right across way and go to the movie theatre there - big screens. You could even order dinner while you watch the movie if you want!

We saw Rogue One here, and then went shopping at the Star Wars store - fun!

I am leaning towards the movie/dinner idea. There is a new Dwayne Johnson movie coming out on 4-20 so perfect timing (if they are playing it there)

If you feel like an off property excursion, the Kennedy Space Center is well worth the trip. I believe it is about an hour drive away.

Anything at Ft. Wilderness, bikes at Port Orleans, dinner and a movie at Disney Spring (or bowling).

PS: I love that it's just you and your grandson. I cherish the time I got to spend one on one with my grandparents!

The Art of Animation resort offers free "drawing lessons " where you can learn to draw a Disney character. You don't have to be a guest of that resort to participate.

Personally we would rent a car and visit the Kennedy Space Center.
