Hi Guys
I'm around, trying to ketchup!

Amanda and I spent the weekend at my MIL's house. It's about an hour away. We got a coat of primer and one coat of beige on her bedroom walls. If you remember, the walls were a pepto bismo pink. It still needs another coat, but we ran out of paint. Spent the day Sunday scrubbing down her kitchen.

It smells alot better in there now. We have washed everything that is washable including the carpets. I don't think Amanda will ever start smoking after seeing the effects to the walls, windows etc. Amanda actually said that the house seems happy now!

One more weekend, than we should be able to get the house on the market.

The kids spent most of yesterday without power. There was a bad accident nearby. Two large trucks collided, a trash truck and a dump truck. Killed one person and the other is in critical condition.

I work about a mile from home. We had power there, but no internet. Pretty boring day as most of my Monday work entails sending listings over the internet that we want to advertise in different publications.

So today was doubly busy. Made the day zing right by!

Hope all you sickies are feeling better soon.

Only things DW will let me cook are the steaks and some deserts:lmao:

Come on down. We'll let you cook for us. :p

I have never found anything that can't be made inside. I have broiled flank steak (about 5 to 6 mins each side), then rest for a few minutes, then slice at a diagonal against the grain. I have never tried pan frying, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'd probably preheat the pan to a good medium high to high heat, drizzle a little oil and brown the meat for a couple of minutes on each side, then reduce the heat to medium or medium low and give it another 5 mins on each side. The reason for that is to "brown" the outside with the high temp, but "cook" the meat with the lower temp (if that makes sense).

Flank steak is great to marinade.

Here's a link that might help with the cutting thing:

Thanks! I can't wait to try it!

Okay, guys. Brad has officially pissed me off.

He is lying on the couch with the light off.

When he feels tomorrow and the next day, like I do today, guess who WON'T be getting any TLC.

I probably won't be back on tonight because I'm about to go tell him to go to bed... since he isn't any help to me at all... and he clearly needs the rest more than I do...

Sorry, he's being "not so nice" (to put it mildly). Payback can be so rewarding though. ;) Hope you feel better tomorrow.

I'm heading to bed early tonight...I think I'm starting to come down with a cold and I can't be sick right now.

Have a good night!

Mac - I need some of your world famous home made chicken noodle soup.

kielbasa and sour kraut

sour kraut with anything, actually

i knew there was a reason i liked you;) (most of my people have barrels in the basement of the ho-made stuff-my mom ixnayed it though so the tradition stopped in that generation lol)

mac -that cornbread concoction sounds great; too bad my family doesn't do casseroles (although i can twist ma's arm every now & again...just so many leftovers).

for DSs friends i order a pizza:goodvibes ; or they talk me into spaghetti, pork chops, "cheap" steaks or chicken (grilled, baked, whatever - always have bags of the frozen breast in freezer). Odd thing his friends luv to sleep over for the "hearty" breakfast;) ; i could eat breakfast for any meal.

lori thanks for the link, i don't know anyone who has ever used the flu meds you take in the 1st few days:confused3

tricia - why is it when guys get sick the world stops (ok not all guys, just the ones i know); go get some rest

hi sharon! just thinking pepto bismal makes me ill. sampled some sort of yougurt drink @ Sams yesterday...just like it:scared:

Ok painting is done now we wait ....

Rug is on its way Wed. between 12-3 , Bedroom set on its way Thurs between 9 and 12 . and Sleepnumber bed on its way Friday between 1 and 3 . I am all ready I think..

DH , Me , DD 12 and DS are all in Public Schools. DD who is 15 is in Catholic HS so that is why she has school on Wed- Friday .

I am going to take photos after the rug is in sometime wed afternoon .

So I did lots of throwing out this week and well it feels great . I have learned to part with the junk. :lmao:

So all this talk of food brings me to say we went to dinner tonight at a place called Cheeseburger in Paradise . It is a place just like Margaritaville and guess who owns it ??? Jimmy Buffett. Well the cheeseburgers were amazing and I am guessing that Matgaritaville is going to be just as good. At least i hope it is. ;)

I guess I thought it looked messier then it was . Now the hard job cleaning a room two teenage girls share :scared1: . I would NEVER POST pictures of their room . I would have to run and hide in shame forever . I just keep saying that they will grow out of it or grow up and leave. :lmao:

See everyone later

Sounds like a productive weekend. I sure hope it made an impact on Amanda. Do you do something with Real Estate?

Feel better Todd. Hope you are not getting this flu.

lori thanks for the link, i don't know anyone who has ever used the flu meds you take in the 1st few days:confused3

You are very welcome. I don't know anyone that has ever taken it either. It has to be started within 24 - 48 hours of the fever. How many people go to the doctor immediately after getting a fever?

Also there was a report on our news tonight about how the flu vaccine is usually effective in 90% of the strains of the virus. This year it is only good for about 40%. At the end of the segment they still recommended people taking it!:confused3 Why, if it isn't working?

Woo Hoo! Sounds like you still have a little work ahead but it is going to be great.

I understand now why one kiddo has to go to school. I bet she is not real happy about it though.

And I have good news for you...Cheeseburger in Paradise is no where near as good as Margarittaville! You are going to love it!

Glad I am not completely alone on this.

Hopefully, a little rest is all you need. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Mac - I need some of your world famous home made chicken noodle soup.

Ooooh, how do you make that?

You're a much better hostess than I. They get doughnuts for breakfast at my house. :rolleyes1

I hope anyone sick is well soon.
:grouphug:

Sharon, saw the pics of that accident. thought of you , that you might live near there. it was terrible. glad you got mil's house going, just think it may soon be sold. :thumbsup2

i was thinking of doing beef stroganoff for wed nite. we shall see.
:surfweb:

i dont like snakes ,bugs, gators, dogs , skunks, or even lizards of any slithering kind
and BIRDS.......:scared:
freakin' tiki bird show still has me screaming......dont like totem poles either. we went in....sitting next to what i thought was a support beam, turned out to be a moving totem pole, screamed my head off.....was traumatized for at least 30 minutes. go ahead and laugh. the whole damn place did.

It would be nice if the rest of DH's family would help out. They all live within 15 minutes of her house, but have a ton of excuses why they can't make it over to help get it ready to sell. :confused3

Yes, I am the office manager for a real estate agency. And I'm happy to report that our business is doing just fine in spite of what the news reporters keep saying. :thumbsup2 I wish they would shut up. They are scaring away people who are interested in selling. :headache:

found the bisquick chicken nugget recipe. then found others.:thumbsup2

hhmmmm.......

lots of food ideas popping in the dead space above my neck now......:surfweb:

i realize it is not polite to laugh, but when i see folks saying they are leaving NEXT WEEK and are on the ddp and have no dinner ressies and wonder if they should make them.........

i will shut up now........

just my opinion.......

I love that show! But I would have loved to have been there to see that! Nice place to cool off.

Well, do you really want to have to put up with them while you are there. See if you think of it that way it makes it easier.

I know that I took plenty of pictures for my sisters magazine yesterday. Sure doesn't seem like they are hurting to me.

How many pages do they allow us? Was it supposed to be 250? Man....we're a chatty bunch, aren't we...February 4th and today is just the 19th!

Yep 250 pages then we have to start part 3! In 15 days we got to 100 pages. And there were quite a few days when we had so many sickies that things were very quiet for us!
