As soon as I hit post, I remembered one... KATIE... that panther thing looks cool, but difficult. Make sure you post pics!

And JENNIFER! Thanks for looking for me in the crowds, but I doubt they showed the back stretch grandstands much. If we had thought of it sooner, I could have worn something eye catching... like Shrek on my head or something.

Whew, I finally caught up for the day. I've given up on the idea of reading the whole thread, so you guys may need to fill me in on some things.

1st, what's this about a new home for Damo? Do tell! Lucky her! And Damo... if you haven't left yet, have fun & stay safe.

Next, I hope all those who are sick get better soon. I wish I lived close enough to bring everyone a bowl of soup.

Welcome! - my oldest is turning 16 on March 2nd - just a couple of weeks! I'm guessing I'll be sad too when it's my baby! Now I'm just looking forward to someone else being able to help with the driving! (Although not the quadrupled car insurance rates!).

Speaking of Matt, he and his girlfriend celebrated their big ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY yesterday!

He's my baby, & my only. :sad1: Unless you count my 46 yr. old DH who acts like a baby most of the time. :rolleyes1

Congrats to Matt on his Anniversary. It must be a good thing, if you're happy about it. I keep reminding my son that it's not a good idea to fall in love, until you're in your last year of college. Do you think he'll go for it, if I keep saying it? ;) Yes, I'm a bad, nagging mommy.

They grow up so fast cause I have a 16 year old Ds and in November he will be 17 and DS that will be 12 in 3 days and already asking what puberty is:lmao: and Marci wow 71 inches of snow already:scared1: bet your like me can't wait for spring

It's times like this that I'm really glad I'm the mom. Good luck with that! :rotfl:

i still haven't gotten around to doing my trippie from 07 or posting the pics.
still thinking about doing that and still thinking about getting my christmas cards out soon.

We'll give you a pass on the Christmas cards, but we need a trippie. Is it okay, if I just look at the pics? I'll never get caught up on all the reading I've missed.

Oh, and I heard a bit on the news last night that Villenueve has been released. Damo should get a new pick since her driver is now shopping for a new ride.

Carpentier perhaps? He is the other Canadian.

My blond is showing, & I'm lost. :upsidedow Someone, please explain.

 On my way!!!

I'll leave the light on for you. Mac, will you pay the power bill? What's a few hundred $ more, right?

Happy Belated to your son :goodvibes They do grow up quick...I'll bet you can remember when he was just 9? (Bubba's age as of last month)

Thanks! Don't remind me. I hope Bubba's 9th is the best year so far!

well, don't listen to me but i always blamed taking the kids out of skool due to a death in the family in florida.

per the skool records, i had lost a great aunt, mother, cousin and gparent. i ran out of relatives one year when the oldest was in 8th grade.

then i remembered that my mom died and i had to go to florida to settle the date that was set by the courts. i put that in writing in january as i knew it would be impossible to get out of work and yanking the boys out of skool for the 4th year in a row.

that lie was probably the best i had to give.
the boys were so excited and were telling friends that they were going to florida for mothers day for a couple of weeks.

i always told them we would be going to florida.
i never mentioned a theme park.

and, when they were younger, i told them about the trip at the last minute except when they were older.

none of my relatives died during those periods but they have now.
i was bad.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Mo waffo is just a favourite saying of my little twins. They want more waffles. It just has caught on and we say it at home when we want something more.

That's adorable!

'Christmas in July'

Great idea!

And I forgot to tell everyone that my daughter and I are going to the Mardi Gras Annual pass pre party on Feb. 23! That should be interesting! Now that my daughter is legal in the US (19 is legal in Canada), she wants a fancy Mardi Gras drink.

I can't wait to hear what you thought about the Mardi Gras celebration. We've thought about going over for that, but never have.

Hey Lori, DH said to make sure and tell you that he was just playing about the sun shining. We're not really a couple of drunks.....

But.... the other story was so much better. :rotfl:

 yep...same here....our excuse was always 'sick' family in Fl....'cept the year MIL died...that was real :sad1: I NEVER tell them 'educational trip' (especially with the witch of a principal Bubba has :sad2: )...it's always a 'health' emergency with FIL ;)

Don't they ever wonder why that poor man is still alive?

Do ya want to know what Louella was charged with????

A Misdewiener! :scared1:

Very clever! :lmao:

barb - fancy smancy stuff:confused3 , i'm lucky if i scrape up the dough for $3 wednesdays;) ; haven't popped in for 6 weeks, not sure if i'm going to try & keep what little i have left or just wait until May & go fit it again...i'm such a sickly looking pale thing. ps - clicked on the site and almost had a heart attack when the music came on...evidently; my 'lil darlin was playing some tunes last night

marci - that much snow is very disturbing, i'd be holed up till spring. they have to pry me out of the house when it hits freezing-i could easily be a hermit as long as i had internet service (i keep lots of canned goods on hand:) ; full freezer too)

mac - yep, she has bolted before:rolleyes1 on very good behavior today:flower3: , think she's trying to keep me on my toes by behaving for a change or just glad to get out of the house lol. No epidural yet, pain clinic evidently going to squeeze her insurance co for every last drop...full series of xrays in a few weeks; then they'll decide where they're going to "stick her":hippie:

tricia - not sure about stuffing the kids full of sugarpopcorn:: they may have you tied up by dinner...plead extreme illin' once their pa is around; bolt the bathroom door & take a 2 hour bath:idea: it works wonders hee-hee

Thanks Tricia its great to be back:cool1:

The older my DS gets, the more our house has a revolving door. I'm constantly feeding extra people. I don't mind that at all, but I don't know what to feed them. Our DS is an only child, who was raised primarily around adults in his younger years. He'll eat absolutely anything, which makes it harder to figure out what to feed most teens. Lately, we've been ordering out at least 5 nights a week, if not more. I'm really getting sick of it. I need some home cooked meals! What should I fix? Any suggestions for safe meals that any teen should like? Oh yeah, his girlfriend can't eat Mexican for some reason. :confused3 I think his friends would be okay with it though. TIA for saving us from so much take-out. :)

Our oldest DS always brings his friends over and they invite themselves to dinner wether we want the too or not:headache: but like you we don't mind but some of them are very rude but they usually not picky and will eat what ever we have and only in some very few times we would order pizza due to DS is very picky cause this is a kid that no matter where we go out to eat he only orders cheese burgers:lmao: :lmao:

since we were all teenagers, here is what i remember liking.

my mother would get a big pack of pork chops or chx pieces, and shake and bake them.
heat a couple or 3 cans of corn or green beens
make a cake out of a mix or cupcakes and frost them.

old fashioned pot roast with veggies cooked in the pan.
make your own sundaes.

mac n cheese and hot dogs, with a pan of brownies.

they have those mexican dinners in a box like taco bell or old el paso at the grocery store, you only add ground beef and 1 or 2 other things. throw that together with s'mores for dessert.

or , try a big pot of spaghetti with meatballs on the side, and garlic bread.add cookies for dessert

:laundy:

tricia, you get lost in the laundry, or did you throw sweet Daniel in??? :scared:

Here is what I plan to do....

Panther.gif

Think I can pull it off????

Yes you can do it! Can't wait to see pics of it on his head!

Way to go on the 30 lbs. Fletch!

To the sickos - (oops, I mean sickies) - get well soon. The "bug" is starting to go around the office. Hoping I can stay away from it.

:rotfl2:

Lori - does your sister have her own foot detox machine. What I found on the internet sites were $1,500? I am going to check around - I think some local spas probably do this.

Yes she bought it at a health show she was at weekend before last. She bought the deluxe version and it was only $475. $1500 is steep! She has already made $160 off of it without trying and has 3 more sessions scheduled for Thursday so she will make another $60 off of it. This is all just with friends & their families. She is going to charge $30 for a 30 minute session, $50 for an hour.

I asked her last might about where you guys can check. She said try local day spas or naturopathic doctors in your area.

sure - thanks for the heads up :thumbsup2 :lovestruc

Okay I will email you in just a bit

No more big sleeps.

See you guys in a week! Please don't keep my neighbours awake in SC. I wouldn't want to make a bad first impression.

We will try not to annoy the new neighbors! Have a fabulous time.

 hope it includes tax, ask for complimentary upgrade when you check in;) priced out Contemporary Resort MK view for 1 night in Oct - $500+ (not concierge, just a regular room) secret messages in the potty @ margarittaville (hide the sharpie in your landshark!)

That must be rack. I will never book a Disney room without a code. Love that ap rate the most. I think the last time I quoted CR Tower it was $249. That was about a year or so ago.

lori - i did recall you staying @ AK:thumbsup2 ; ps the clown pool @ night is not lit so as to be intimidating lol...although they could do wonders with it if they tried...thinking scary part in pinochio when they turn into donkeys/island of lost boys? We added-on there, sight unseen (as we did for WL-talk about blind faith; figured anything would beat theAll Star experience with cheerleading & twirling groups over presidents day weekend) for the lower point value - discovered the BW area is fun indeedy. Funny, the 1st thing DH said when i told him we were going to try to visit AK was...that's probably further away from the MK than SSR  . We tend to have a rental anyway, unless the park is a boatride away (as his beloved WL is:rolleyes1 it's probably a mute point, just seems to be an issue to me). If they didn't pack the peeps in so tight @ the values during prime time, we'd still be regulars - just couldn't take the throngs. There's a formula they use on cruise ships to determine enjoyable visits as to # of guests per public space areas...jennifer's our # gal; pet she knows how it works.

PS - toss me the email link for the $70 aquatica/SW tix if it's still good for end of Oct please ; how cool does the water slides look thru dolphin area (thinking Atlantis/Nassua - which we haven't tried)

We stayed one night at Sports and it was filthy. The kids that were running wild were also to much. Puke by the bus stop first thing in the morning. Disgusting. We won't stay at a Value again if I can help it.

I'll pm you or you can pm me cause I don't have your email addy yet. As soon as I get it I will forward the email to you too.

need to take ma to pain clinic today for possible epidural, hope it goes smoothly & she doesn't wig out on me

Good luck with ma!

Morning folks. I feel like crap with crap topping and crap on the side. Gonna call the doctor's office in a little while and see if they can fit us in. Brad woke up whining that he isn't feeling well and that he felt cold during the night last night. I said something to the effect of "I'm pretty sure that I should care, but it would require more energy than I have at the moment."

It's gonna be a LOOOONG day.

Oh man you sound awful. Feel better. Brad too! :wizard: :wizard:

Ok here are the photos I took . They are of the room with the stuff still in it. Right now we have nothing but the bed and the TV stand in there . We are getting to the paint today when it is done I will take more photos. Please excuse the MESS it is really :scared1: . To look at . Our house is really :upsidedow this week.

Oh yeah that is real messy! Guess I won't be posting pics of my
house! Have fun painting.

Other then that we are all very tired and getting a little crazy here . The kids are home all week and well they are BOARD . The oldest DD has school on Wed, thurs and Fri so that will keep her busy but the other two are a little crazy with nothing much going on here.

Why does the oldest have school when the others don't? Does dh still have school?

Anyone else scrapbook here ? I was looking at the cricut machine and it is almost $400 :scared1: . I was wondering if it is really worht it ? Seems that i might just as well wait there is too much $$$ going out as it is this year . Maybe a good Chriastmas gift. :confused3

No scraping for me. Takes to much time and I am not creative at all. Sounds like a high dollar machine.

now that i booted ma outta bed:rolleyes1 ; have time to post this goodie of special interest to mac i bet re idol...heard on today show/assume all the gory details are on the site

3 of the contestants (including tatoo girl from ireland and long haired blonde cutie have had record contracts:confused3 while one of the dudes won star search when he was a kid)

so are they amatuers or not:mad: . Especially, tatoo girl; the record company spent $2 mill promoting her album, it tanked; guess who ran the record company - Randy Jackson dawg.

It seems like they try to make sure they have a scandal anymore.

It's a shame so many kids are sick a lot....constant ear infections, asthma, etc.... What is changing? You didn't hear of this stuff when we was little? :confused3 I don't get it..... :sad2: It's a shame kids have to "live" with the things they have.....

Hope Madie feels better....exactly how far is Miranda anyhows? if she won't move near you, tell her there are a bunch of people here who will!

It is really concerning that there are so many of them sick all the time. I would imagine it is from all the crap in our air, and the pesticides and such that is in our foods. As advanced as our society is supposed to be it really seems like we are going backwards. :sad2:

The doctor decided Madie had the flu, although she did no tests. It's just the popular thing this week. :sad2: She also has a busted ear drum & something sinus. She prescribed antibiotic ear drops & a stronger antibiotic for her sinuses.

Miranda lives about 35 - 40 minutes away. She may just have to come out here and stay till Madie is feeling better. Ally & Mikey both stayed home today. Ally looks like she feels as bad as Madie if not worse. Neither of them have any appetite.

so.....who wants to fly with me to Lori's sister's and get the foot therapy???????????????????????

maybe we can do a friends in the box foot therapy day. :goodvibes

Now you think just like me Penny cause all that sounds fine to me but my oldest DS likes to be picky so I tell you and your buddies can eat this or do with out:lmao: :lmao:

My blond is showing, & I'm lost. :upsidedow Someone, please explain.

Penny wanted everyone to pick a driver at the beginning of the NASCAR season so she can tell us how we are all doing after each race. Damo picked Villenueve because he is Canadian... but he has just been replaced as primary driver. I was just suggesting that Penny substitute the other Canadian driver in NASCAR since Damo isn't around to make a new pick.

Teen-friendly... hmmmm... well, my boys aren't anywhere close to that yet, but if memory serves...

Anything with ground beef as the primary ingredient and not too many spices/sauces. Spaghetti, lasagne, pizza, hamburgers, sloppy joes, chili mac, meat loaf, etc. You can try variations of those meals with shredded chicken instead so that you won't get so tired of them. It seems that most people don't start getting adventurous with their food until their early 20s these days.

How about steak subs? Along the lines of a Philly Cheesesteak. You could cook thin strips of steak... onions and peppers... have cheese and condiments. Those that want it all could eat it and those that want boring could stick just meat and cheese on a roll.

Bisquick has a good recipe for homemade chicken fingers. If that would interest any of you, it's not hard to find on the internet.

I have Rachel Ray's book all about Kid Food, if you want some change it up type recipes.

I hope that helps!

well we had sooooo much pouring rain that ruined lots of snow yesterday, Marcie is the winner of the 10 foot hight snow embankments.:scared:

I remember snow like that back in 95 or 96. you took you life in your hands pulling out of your driveway and street as there was no place to put it. storms every week and long drives to work.

bloody groundhog. lets find him and ..... wait a second, is there a bounty on his head? ......we could make a little money for the foot therapy trip! yeah, we can do it!:thumbsup2

homemade chix fingers sound good! i am looking that one up!

if you are all okay with it, we will give Damo the other Canandian driver.
i did not realize her pick got shown the right turn exit.

Just a little non US political news. yes, political.

Hopefully, and i say this with a great amount of courage, and hope , with the resignation of Fidel Castro in Cuba today, MAYBE, JUST MAYBE someday that place will be democratically run again.

Imagine in 20 years a vacation down there for Americans. :goodvibes

:laundy:

tricia, you get lost in the laundry, or did you throw sweet Daniel in??? :scared:

I'm here! I'm sick, but I'm here. Daniel got a bath, but not in the laundry. I guess the popsicles got out of hand. He was a little bit sticky. :rolleyes1

Oh man you sound awful. Feel better. Brad too! :wizard: :wizard:

If only you could hear me. My mom called earlier and didn't recognize my voice. I hope this is a quick bug 'cause man is it nasty!

Now you think just like me Penny cause all that sounds fine to me but my oldest DS likes to be picky so I tell you and your buddies can eat this or do with out:lmao: :lmao:

I wish I could do that. Most people have kitchens. I wind up running a diner. If Brad & I want a steak, we cook a steak. The boys won't eat steak, so they get chicken nuggets or whatever. I'm hoping that will change one day.

homemade chix fingers sound good! i am looking that one up!

if you are all okay with it, we will give Damo the other Canandian driver.
i did not realize her pick got shown the right hand turn.

If you have trouble finding the recipe, let me know. They have both a basic breaded and a ranch style that are good. There may be others too. I have learned to do chicken fingers just about any way you can think of. It is Joshua's favorite meal.

They announced Sunday night that Mike Skinner will be the primary driver on the Number 27 car. I'm not sure where that puts Villeneuve, other than without a ride at the moment. I just figured that she wanted a Canadian, so give her the only other Canadian available. ;)

forgot to wish you luck with Ma today :wizard:

hydration station is a sort of 'capsule' you lay in and get steamed and massaged in ;)

http://www.hydrationstationmethod.com/

That looks like heaven! Need to find me one of those!

Got through to the doctor's office. With my regular doc on his tour of duty, Dr Broomstick is slammed. They wouldn't even consider working us in today. The boys have an 11:30am appointment tomorrow. I'll just have to deal with it because by then any flu meds they could give me would be past that magical "48 hours from the first signs" window... so screw it. I'll just feel like crap with crap sprinkles (I knew I missed something, thanks Janet) and hope the mummy dust (thanks Barb) takes effect soon.

I'm off to drag myself very slowly down the stair to do more laundry. The laundry! Horrors upon horrors! How can there be so much? How??? I had everything, and I mean everything, clean when we left! I wouldn't worry about it, but the boys are running out of things that fit... and our stuff that we wore to the races are a little *ahem* ripe.

Same thing the doctor said about Madie. Her fever came up Saturday night & they wouldn't see her yesterday so they couldn't give her flu meds. Just as well with me though since she didn't even do a flu test. :headache:

And how in the world do laundry piles just keep growing?

Hi Tricia - hope you're feeling better soon. Sorry you picked up some bad germs down there. And sorry the doc's not being much help!

Just stopping in quickly before I head out to vote and go to work. Yes, we FINALLY get to vote, after the rest of the country! And on the plus side for work, my boss is out of town through tomorrow which makes my life much happier!

Just a couple pics to tide you guys over. I have all my basement ones uploaded now, and hope to get a chance to load those later! But for now, just the "there's too much snow!" ones!

First pic is just along the side of the driveway - this is the lowest it gets!

snowisgettingdeep.jpg

And down at the bottom of the driveway. Yes, Matt is over 6 feet tall and can't stack up to the snow anymore!

IMG_1787.jpg

Have a good day all!

I would be looking for a new place to live and much further SOUTH!

i suggest you anonomously sign up dr broomstick for subscriptions from the internet and magazines ...........;)

:lmao: :lmao:

I hope my kids don't go into sugar shock or anything. Every time either one of them approaches me today, I am throwing stuff at them. Popsicles, lollipops, you name it. If it buys me 5 mins of peace, take it.

But, enough about me. I think I've read everything and I'm trying to remember... ummm....

Welcome back Lawrence! Good to see you again!

Good luck with the painting Mary. Re-decorating can be fun, but getting finished is even better.

I know Damo is gone, but I'll throw a "have a good trip" out there anyway.

Mac, I looked at all the places we were, but I couldn't find a postcard. I'll have to figure something out.

I hadn't heard the AI news, Janet. Sounds suspicously convenient, doesn't it?

Glad to hear about the weight loss Fletch.

Thanks for keeping everyone up on the racing news Wendy.

Looks like you got some last minute entries Penny.

Tracie, any trip can be made "educational". Naming the states and capitals that you drive through, budgeting for meals (or souvenirs or whatever), how about linking something ridiculous to something school-worthy... like say ROTM to ancient Egypt? That's about all my muddled brain can come up with.

Where is Sharon? Did she get lost in the snow?

Speaking of snow, Marcie, you have way too much. Just in case you didn't know.

Are you tan yet Barb? And, yes, I was doing the Zicam thing before we left... seemed to have beaten whatever it was back... then got hit with this on Sunday. I don't know if whatever this is is something new, or just the old thing that finally took root.

You have to wait until I'm around for the PUIs Alison. We could chat back and forth without anyone else understanding us. No, wait, I think Gemma was the only one to cross over into the unable-to-understand posts. Remember a couple of hers? I wanted to post, "I'd like to buy a vowel Pat"... but I didn't know if she would get it.

I hope you find exactly the dog you want, and that wants you, Todd.

Wasn't a good weekend for Hendricks Lori, but there is a long season out there. I hope they get it together quick. Oh, and I guess Mark Martin found out what Dale Jr was complaining about all last season with the blown engine thing, huh?

Good to see some lost folks checking in. Speaking of which, who's missing? Jodie... DM... Who else? Do I need to go pecking at tail feathers again?

I know I missed somebody. My head is foggy, so please forgive me.

Geez Tricia! What a ketchup job and you are a sicko as Jennifer's says. Now go get in bed!

I don't worry at all about my Hendricks boys! I know I have the best race team out there! Mark is probably already regretting going to DEI. Poor guy.

And JENNIFER! Thanks for looking for me in the crowds, but I doubt they showed the back stretch grandstands much. If we had thought of it sooner, I could have worn something eye catching... like Shrek on my head or something.

Next time! Do you know what other races you are going to this season?

1st, what's this about a new home for Damo? Do tell! Lucky her! And Damo... if you haven't left yet, have fun & stay safe.

Damo bought a retirement home in South Carolina. She has pet gators in the pond/creek or whatever it is out back. It is a beautiful place. She posted pics of it a while back.

mac - yep, she has bolted before:rolleyes1 on very good behavior today:flower3: , think she's trying to keep me on my toes by behaving for a change or just glad to get out of the house lol. No epidural yet, pain clinic evidently going to squeeze her insurance co for every last drop...full series of xrays in a few weeks; then they'll decide where they're going to "stick her":hippie: /SIZE]

:headache: Can't believe they are just leaving her in pain. Stinkin doctors.

TIA for saving us from so much take-out. :)

Oh teenage boys will eat just about anything and lots of it! I used to do the feeding for oldest ds's football team on Thursdays. Booster Club paid for most of it, I either picked it up or cooked it at home and served it. We did pot roasts, steaks, lasagne, fettucini, hamburgers, sub sandwiches, bbq chicken, enchiladas, tacos, hot dogs, pizza, spaghetti, . Pretty much anything put in front of them they will eat!

so.....who wants to fly with me to Lori's sister's and get the foot therapy???????????????????????

maybe we can do a friends in the box foot therapy day. :goodvibes

Maybe we could find a show to do up your way & you could all come see us there! If you know of any good health type shows that have a real good attendance let me know.

well we had sooooo much pouring rain that ruined lots of snow yesterday, Marcie is the winner of the 10 foot hight snow embankments.:scared:

Wow! I really do need to watch something other than the Disney Channel. I had not heard that yet. I guess he has been very sick for a while though.

I'm here! I'm sick, but I'm here. Daniel got a bath, but not in the laundry. I guess the popsicles got out of hand. He was a little bit sticky. :rolleyes1

You just can't win!

If only you could hear me. My mom called earlier and didn't recognize my voice. I hope this is a quick bug 'cause man is it nasty!

I have that problem with Ally these days. She used to eat anything and I do mean anything. The strange child would sit and eat sardines with her grandpa!:scared1: YUCK! Now she has decided she doesn't like things we have always eaten. So when she doesn't want what we are having she gets a tuna sandwich, pizza rolls, or spaghettio's. I will not fix a separate meal for her.
