Hey, it's supposed to be 33 here today! The boys will be out knocking down our snowbanks in preparation for the next big storm we're supposed to get on Tuesday! Woo hoo!

Ok Marci I got my hand raised high :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We go camping up in that area in the summer a lot. Never thought about going at this time of year. I'm assuming cross country skiing? Do they rent skis up there or does he have his own?

he does cross country skiing.
he has a couple of his own, never rents.

My cat gets locked in the basement at night - not because I'm worried about squishing her, but because I don't like someone standing on my face at 5am yelling "MEOW!!!" (Translates roughly to "feed me!") :rotfl:

i'm a wuss, i give in.
couldn't lock my cat in the basement. it would be like locking one of my sons in the basement
..........well, on second thought......

Mac - we had that in our old house. Now we have a much bigger kitchen counter where the stuff can accumulate indefinitely instead and it doesn't get in the way of your eating dinner!

i'll use that trick next time i need to clean off the dining room table.
push everything south......

Okay, I did NOT know you were a grandma!!!:cheer2: Congrats - I guess I'm still thinking of all of us as 25 or so! I suppose I knew you had an older daughter, but your other kids are my kids' ages so I figured you were my age (you know, around 25! ;) ).

marcie has a son going on 16........
she has been married about 20 years.

she was a child bride.
she is only 25..........

i wouldn't know what 25 was even if it hit me.....

Is it just me, or does anyone else wish we could choose the smileys that stayed on the first screen? It takes forever for the next screen of choices to load, and even longer for me to find the one I wanted when I went to the page! I finally figure out where some are and they change them all. There are probably 10 I use regularly and I wish I could just "sticky" them to the main page!

i was told before they put the smilies on the front page that are used the most.
but, what do i know.

Okay, I'm sorry - I'm clueless too. What does orange signify?

Orange - Scottish
Green - Irish

How about...

Dear Alex and Savannah,

Please let your Momma come and play with us. We promise to give her back.

Love,
SAN Thread

:flower3:

jodie, get your butt over here or i will start crank calling you.
and i will call your room everyday while you are in florida for wake up calls at 6 am....

the only thing i can think of when penny uses the colors is based on paula abdul.

she tells the contestants this year what color they are.
"i see you as the color........"

home from church.
had your backs covered

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I like Mac's threats better than our polite requests. They probably work better too. :rotfl2:

We should have had a girl. :scared:

Uuummmm. . .might want to rethink that. . . consider clothes, hair products, cuts, etc. make-up, personal products, PHONE BILLS, BIRTH CONTROL, gifts for bf's, shotguns to warn the bf's, supply of gags for those oh so smart mouths, neck brace to support the broken neck after all the head bobbing attitude:crazy2: . . . . oh, the list is endless. . . .

Oh I am so sorry for the poor puppy. But I meant the Dear Grand Son (dgs), not the dog. Sorry!:flower3:

Oh. . . . :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: my bad:hyper:

He is gone now. . dd/dsil came and picked him up a bit ago. Got some really cute tub shots, and, well. . . all kinds of other silly shots. He's so much fun right now and so smart and curious.

Oh so I am Orange then. Thanks for clearing that up.

So do other colors signify anything?

:cool1: Congrats on 1000!! :cool1:

I have Cherokee and Irish and English and German and lord only knows in me too. Maybe we're related... :rotfl:

This book sounds really good! Does the noodlie stuff work okay with your diet? It sounds like it might be a bit too "carb-y", but seems like it would be so much more filling than just chicken/veggies! Maybe you should start giving us some "healthy" recipes!!

Well, I probably eat more carbs than I should. . .and i don't eat many noodley type dishes, but once in a while is ok. At this point, and for another few months, I concentrate mainly on fat content because this works with my Alli, but I still have to watch calories, etc. When I eat chicken and veggies I have a giganto serving of veggies. . .they are basically free and you can eat as many veggies as you want. I steer clear of much corn and peas, and eat tons of cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, squash, those types of veggies. Oh, and we add beans quite often. Lots and lots of veggie soups too.

Ok. . I'll be 25. :hyper: I just. . and I do mean just. . .turned 40. My oldest is 20 and my youngest is 8. Grandson is nearly 10 months.

Okay, going back to my friend a bit (who I'll call back today), I appreciate the input. I think you guys though just have a bit too much money (as do I) to relate to what they're trying. IF they go to Disney, they'll really be stretching it to get the base tickets. They aren't considering the hoppers or waterparks, so they can't "not do those and do Uni instead".

And unfortunately, they seem to really think they have to do KSC and Sea World. If they have to do those, then Disney becomes almost impossible because it's such a huge chunk of money. With 6 people, you can't do a vacation "cheap". Trust me - I've looked at trying it with 5. Air will run them $1200+ (yes, I know they might have been able to get SW cheaper at some point, but they didn't), Disney base tickets close to $1300, and around $1400 for the house. They need a minivan just to fit the kids, and the cheapest I'm finding for that is around $800. So you're nearly at $5000, and they haven't eaten, bought a single souvenir, or added in the KSC or the Sea World yet. If you know a cheaper way to do it (at this point!), let us know.

Oh, and KSC includes a second day for free (as does Sea World), so that's why they were considering the extra days at those. Janet - the price only goes up a lot if you're buying non-expiring. Otherwise, the tickets are pretty much around an extra $2-3 a day per person for all those days.

back to this fascinating quest...fyi, i've traveled with my entire family of 6 many times before::yes:: where there's a will, there is a way:thumbsup2 just have to be willing to work within whatever budget you have & jump thru hoops to make it work lol think the big mistake 1st timers make is to overschedule & try to see everything, then they burn out.

For 6, $1,200 isn't a bad price on airfare from PIT, even with SW unless they're willing to travel mid-week

$1,400 for 1 week home rental seems expensive to me. Not sure when they're visiting, 2 Value rooms @ WDW can usually be had for $200 night & they'd get the onsite percs...

and could us ME FREE, only renting a van for a day or two onsite if they want.

otherwise, they could easily hook up with the Sheraton & commit to the 90 min tour, get a great rate on 2 BR unit (at least a couple hundred $s cheaper) and their choice of 1 day tix (SW, Univ, Disney). Might even get lucky & get to forego the presentation (they wanted us badly, we got to skip it-woo-hoo).

via UT, 7 day MYW tix are $218.95 vis 10 day @ 232.95

KSC around $40, SW available for $50

have they considered the 4 day flex tixs? includes Universal S/IOA, Wet & Wild & Sea World for 14 days around $200 pp, various deals out there
*********
otherwise, i'd say

so airfare of $1,200 onsite for 7 nights/2 rooms @ Value = $1400; MYW tix = 1,314 ($3,914) plus food/souvies

food could be 2 CS each day @ $30 X6 = $180 X 7 = $1,260 or DP (not sure of their kids ages, may be a great value if under 10, if not $40 X 6 = 240 X 7 = $1,680

let us know what they decide!

Janet...I think Marcie's friends are going to 10-14 days...not just a week....
