Yes, those biscuits are still available. Bubby had one last night with his dinner. . it's a awful mess to. . . . so, he went right into the tub. . .then dd8 and dd11 couldn't get a "good enuf" spot to watch him take his bath, so they climbed in :sad2: (hey. . . the smilies are all mixed up and some new ones are there)

Oh, that's so sweet. :cutie: I had a niece born, when my sister, 2 yrs. older than me & I were about that age. We spoiled her rotten, pretty much worshipped her. She's still the chosen one to this day. All the kids born later, including mine, have always played 2nd fiddle, as far as nieces & nephews go.

Poor Nala (cocker spaniel foster dog) got her "surgery" last Thursday. No running, jumping, playing, rough housing or, in general, being a dog, for 7 days. . .that's seems like a long time. She gets pain medication every 12 hours and has to stay in her kennel most of the time :confused3 She hates it, but every time we bring her out, we keep her on her leash so we can control her, but the dogs want to play. So we have a hard time keeping giant monster dog away from her. . . he misses his buddy :sad1:

Oh I am so sorry for the poor puppy. But I meant the Dear Grand Son (dgs), not the dog. Sorry!:flower3:

Morning homies....just a little rant to start the day. :teeth:

I recorded The Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular on Friday and watched it this morning...mainly to give Drew Carey another chance as host. After watching this show, I stand by my original opinion of him...he STINKS! I can't believe he was picked over everyone else walking the planet to host that show.

They should have retired TPIR once Bob Barker retired. I'll never watch that show again.

Rant over...please continue what you were doing and I thank you. :rotfl:

Oh yeah. I have watched it a couple of times since he took over and he is AWFUL!!!

Oh - and for all of our nascar fans (whooo hooo go Tony!!)

Have a nanner

2215.gif

Hope the laundry monster doesn't eat you. I need to get some laundry going too.

Morning!

I guess I must be feeling better. The mess that the house is in is starting to bother me. I guess I should dig in and find the floor. Again.

You guys were talking Miami Vice last night? When we went on the tour in Ft Lauderdale, they showed us the mansion that was part of the opening of Miami Vice. Pretty cool.

I had a thing for Vinnie Barbarino too. I wore my Jordache jeans with the big comb sticking out of the back pocket in hopes that he would notice me. :flower3:

Ahh, the pick in the pocket! Memories! :upsidedow

I went to Lenscrafters yesterday to purchase the lenses for the frames I bought on ebay.

Doc had told me to get progressive bifocals. They are the kind without the line. Ok, no problem.

The girl at Lenscrafters does her magic at the computer. The comes up with a figure of $589! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You have got to be kidding me. I just sat there and looked at her like she was nuts.

Oh..well... I can give you a price on your other options too if you want, she says.

Ya think?!

Ended up spending $325 with insurance kicking in $165.
Way better than the original price. :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, it's going to take a week to 10 days for them to be made up.....whatever happened to their 1 hour guarantee? :confused3

Off in a bit to MIL's house. I have to give the bedroom it's last coat of paint and than tackle the kitchen.

See ya's all later tonight
.

That was for the lenses only! :crazy2: Unbelievable.

I better get moving. Got laundry to do and I'm taking Ally to see the Spiderwick Chronicles this afternoon and make it back in time to catch most of the race.

Dear Alex and Savannah, where is your Momma? we miss her. Please have her come back.:grouphug:

Okay, I'm trying to ketchup a bit here! We spent the day running around yesterday - Eric had soccer, then I took him and a friend and Stephen skiing. Matt was in Chicago for his jazz band and DH is still out in Detroit. The skiing was okay. This was the place we had season passes for last year - looks great on paper (and has the only high speed lift around), but it's just too steep for me to have any fun. Although Eric and his friend had fun - his friend had never been on a high speed lift before, or a magic carpet, or midstation unloading, so it was a new experience for him. Now to go back in time (or at least 10 pages! :rotfl2: ):

$8K is alotta dough to be spending on a vacation, guess it depends on how many peeps you're paying for:confused3 . I price out a trip, then try to knock at least 1/3 off before i'm happy...even so, very few times have i spent that much in a year:eek: on travel (of course we do have the DVC which knocks off a good hunk of change).

If they're not big park people why don't they just do something all inclusive (resort, cruise) or just rent a beach house. However, if MCO is it, i'd say WDW. Only because of the cost of onsite/U (have a horrible feeling the experience isn't quite the same when you're a day guestpopcorn:: ) and the fact that they want to rent a house. it's been awhile since i priced out MYW tix (note to self to check lol); but doesn't the MYW tix price go up dramatically somewhere between the 7 & 10 day period? IMO, parkhopping is a huge waste of $ if you're trying to cut costs.

That said, i was forcefully drug to KSC - LUVED IT!!!!!!!! If you're a certain age, you'll be entralled;) ; course i remember the 1st moonwalk:rolleyes1 . Special tours well worth it, saw the assembly bldg, etc. Call me a sucker, but i was moved/1st brush with anything veering on patriotic bent. We've been planning trips around shuttle launches for the last 5 years...don't think we're going to ever see one with all the delays & the program ending:sad1:

Okay, going back to my friend a bit (who I'll call back today), I appreciate the input. I think you guys though just have a bit too much money (as do I) to relate to what they're trying. IF they go to Disney, they'll really be stretching it to get the base tickets. They aren't considering the hoppers or waterparks, so they can't "not do those and do Uni instead".

And unfortunately, they seem to really think they have to do KSC and Sea World. If they have to do those, then Disney becomes almost impossible because it's such a huge chunk of money. With 6 people, you can't do a vacation "cheap". Trust me - I've looked at trying it with 5. Air will run them $1200+ (yes, I know they might have been able to get SW cheaper at some point, but they didn't), Disney base tickets close to $1300, and around $1400 for the house. They need a minivan just to fit the kids, and the cheapest I'm finding for that is around $800. So you're nearly at $5000, and they haven't eaten, bought a single souvenir, or added in the KSC or the Sea World yet. If you know a cheaper way to do it (at this point!), let us know.

Oh, and KSC includes a second day for free (as does Sea World), so that's why they were considering the extra days at those. Janet - the price only goes up a lot if you're buying non-expiring. Otherwise, the tickets are pretty much around an extra $2-3 a day per person for all those days.

Anyways, I'll let you know what she says today and then again next week when she has a chance to look at the stuff I sent!

:rotfl:

Another of my favorite short stories is "Word Processor of The Gods"....did anyone read that? Excellent and very thought provoking. That story was from "Skeleton Crew"...the whole book is good.

I really enjoyed that book when I was younger. Not sure I could read it again without freaking myself out. Yeah, I'm becoming a real weenie as I get older!

Hey Marcie I keep forgetting to tell you this. If it is 25 here and the wind is not blowing that would not be cold to me either. So it really isn't that strange. Or is it?:confused3 :confused3 Maybe I'm just strange.

Yeah, I know it's not THAT cold. Trust me, I know - we've had more than enough of that cold. :rotfl: It's just also not normally (even in Michigan) a temp where you say "Hey, it's warm out! I don't need a coat!"

I was on another thread where a mom was complaining that their school was remodeling and the kids would be having gym outdoors all year and asked if she should be concerned (she was in RI). One person said something like "yeah, as long as they don't expect them to go out when it's bitterly cold - SAY UNDER 40 DEGREES OR SO!" Those of us from WI and MN just had to jump in laughing - our kids go out to recess here unless it's below zero OR below negative 10 with the wind chill. 40 degrees, and as Tracie said, they're out in shorts and t-shirts! Especially if it's been in the negatives lately!

Carol was supposed to start her first round of chemo yesterday, but she woke up with the flu. Mom has had it for 2 WEEKS, so it is no big surprise. Deb got it last week, now Carol. She called her doctor, who phoned her in an antibiotic and such. I hope she shakes it quickly so they don't have to postpone the chemo again.

If anything good came from it, Mom was finally motivated to go to the doctor yesterday and get something to get rid of hers. She's got an antibiotic, cough syrup, nasal spray and eye drops. Why eye drops? Oh, it turns out she has pink eye too. :sad2:

Lots of pixie and mummy dust for all of you! Sounds like everyone else is on the mend. Is Carol any better this morning? Hope she can fight it at home and it doesn't get any worse. What is the chemo for now? Just a follow up, or is something new developing? How often will she need to go (or how many more times)? So sorry she has to deal with flu on top of that!

Good Day All!

Looks like Sharon won't be giving me a loan this week (glad I don't wear glasses). Anyone else got some money to spare? Our DS is breaking us up. :sad2: He had to take his gf out to eat last night. Went to TGIFridays. Cost us $40. Oh yeah, he remembers today is their one month anniversary. Of course, he has to take her out again. He told her he'd take her to a play at an Acting Studio he's getting ready to start going to. That's another $20! "But mom, we have to eat out, when we go to the play." :scared1: We should have had a girl. :scared:

Would they consider driving? It would save a ton on airfare and the car rental alone for a mini van might cost about the same a gas.

That's a big chunk of money for a budget trip. With a trip as long as theirs, I'd drive my own vehicle. I know it's a long drive, but they could stop overnight along the way. If they're totally opposed to that, I'm out of ideas. Sorry. :guilty:

ETA: Looks like Lori beat me to it!

And Lori....... Forgive me! :flower3:

My favorite subject. . . I bought a new recipe book. . Fix it and Forget it Lightly. We haven't had red meat in 7 weeks and I thought I might find something decent.

My cook it lightly crockpot book has several recipes for noodlie type dishes. . .I think there's one for chicken, beef, pork and seafood. I've not tried any of them though. Gotta love crock pot cooking :thumbsup2

This book sounds really good! Does the noodlie stuff work okay with your diet? It sounds like it might be a bit too "carb-y", but seems like it would be so much more filling than just chicken/veggies! Maybe you should start giving us some "healthy" recipes!

mr mac left around 4:30 this morning to go north. he is up at fish creek which is near sturgeon bay to ski for the weekend.

i get the big bed to myself tonight. :woohoo:
but then, 2 cats will climb in during the night and i won't be able to sleep well with them.

We go camping up in that area in the summer a lot. Never thought about going at this time of year. I'm assuming cross country skiing? Do they rent skis up there or does he have his own?

My cat gets locked in the basement at night - not because I'm worried about squishing her, but because I don't like someone standing on my face at 5am yelling "MEOW!!!" (Translates roughly to "feed me!") :rotfl:

I'm here Mac!

I've been wondering where you wuz! I'm over on the trip report board making another installment in my Daytona trippie...

Note to self - find trip report board to read Tricia's trippie!

trying to clear the dining room table.
it has become a catch all for all mail not opened and anything i want to save such as coupons, sales flyers, etc.

Mac - we had that in our old house. Now we have a much bigger kitchen counter where the stuff can accumulate indefinitely instead and it doesn't get in the way of your eating dinner!

Hi all-
Quick fly by....
Just want to let you know that a GIRL called for my son this afternoon! :scared1::scared1: :lovestruc

Marcie- I now see how you are nervous about your 15 yr old with the girlfriend at times.

Congrats on the call! Getting to that age now where the girls are SO much further ahead! They're all thinking "OMG, I LOVE so-and-so" and he's thinking "Eww, a girl!" Eric (12) is just starting to hang out with a group of girls after avoiding all of them completely last year. And for some reason, he's with a gaggle of 8th graders (he's in 7th), most of them are 14, and they're all "Valley Girls"! :rotfl2: Literally, the "eww, a bug, scream, scream" types so I can't see WHAT he sees in them. But I guess they each get to go through it their own way!

So...ya know what sux? I had to get a new cellphone today  My other one works, but has no screen? :confused3 It's just blank. UGH....so, I went and bought another phone, and transferred my number....DH got me all set up :thumbsup2 Only problem is, I've lost all my contacts :( Started putting numbers back in for those I knew....but, other's cell numbers...I don't have... :sad2: gotta start fresh again :headache:

I like the phone and all....but, this is annoying.....
18.gif

Barb - I can only suggest that you try taking the phone to the dealer and seeing if there's any way they can transfer them over. I know my husband had it done with his last phone - they basically transferred the entire memory. But of course, his wasn't completely dead, but the info might still be in there. Worth a try or two (to get one of the "intelligent" repairmen who might be up to a challenge!).

DD just brought grandson. . .gotta go play! :cool1:

Okay, I did NOT know you were a grandma!!!:cheer2: Congrats - I guess I'm still thinking of all of us as 25 or so! I suppose I knew you had an older daughter, but your other kids are my kids' ages so I figured you were my age (you know, around 25! ;) ).

Is it just me, or does anyone else wish we could choose the smileys that stayed on the first screen? It takes forever for the next screen of choices to load, and even longer for me to find the one I wanted when I went to the page! I finally figure out where some are and they change them all. There are probably 10 I use regularly and I wish I could just "sticky" them to the main page!

He'll be back to ask for food money soon! :scared1: It's amazing how much a "free" trip can cost you. :sad2:

have i ever mentioned how much i detest winter activities?
he ski's, snow shoes, cat skii's and snow activities but NO snow mobiles.
he can't stand them.

it is not my idea of having a good time.
sunshine is my thing.

One of my kids' good friends had a dad who was killed snowmobiling (running into a tree head-on) shortly before we moved from Michigan. Kind of turned them (and us) off the idea of ever trying it!

And I agree on the sunshine thing! Did I ever tell you guys my life mottos? Well, one of them is from a Bahamas Travel poster that I saw in college that said "Life begins at 80 degrees!" Ya think I'm living in the wrong place?

you must clean a lot more than i do..........

Exactly what I was thinking! Halloween candy, anyone??

i found dirty bananas...
i am offended:lmao:

My kids thought it was hilarious the first time we found the freesmiley's website and saw all those kinky bananas!

MAC

we should do DL in 2009

we will wear orange

Okay, I'm sorry - I'm clueless too. What does orange signify?

He'll be back to ask for food money soon! :scared1: It's amazing how much a "free" trip can cost you. :sad2:

Yeah thats what I am waiting on and he already knows everything we have is saved for the family to go to Universal in July so I guess he is going to have to ask my MIL for it cause she spoils him even to this day :crazy2:

George Clooney
Derek Jeter
and........I dont care...I LIKE HIM :snooty:

David Caruso

Well, you can LYAO at me even more because I don't know who David Caruso is, or what Derek Jeter looks like (I think he's a baseball player!). George Clooney reminds me too much of my younger brother to actually "like like"! I'll have to ponder who I find attractive so you guys can laugh at me - maybe Gil from CSI (in the older episodes at least - now he's just looking so OLD!) and Sam Waterson (sp?) from Law & Order! Guess my tastes run a bit older than yours, but hey, I'm what - a year older?!

And I never got the email from you! When I'm done ketchuping, I'll try to remember to IM you my email address!

I recorded The Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular on Friday and watched it this morning...mainly to give Drew Carey another chance as host. After watching this show, I stand by my original opinion of him...he STINKS! I can't believe he was picked over everyone else walking the planet to host that show.

Okay, now you guys have gotten me curious! We're big Drew Carey fans  but I agree that I can't see him in that role, and haven't even watched it once. I'll try to remember to tape one this week so we can see if he's as bad as you all say!

I went to Lenscrafters yesterday to purchase the lenses for the frames I bought on ebay.

Man, I missed the first time through that this was just for lenses too! That's ridiculous! Glad she came down some, but wow! I won't be looking forward to the needing bifocals days!

Wait for the one year anniversary! That becomes time to take out a second mortgage?! Does your son get an allowance? Or have a job? Really, my DS rarely asks for money. He gets $10 a week, and seems to make it last. Now when, as I mentioned, it was his anniversary, yes we paid for the $60 in presents he bought her. (and of course he'll "pay us back" - don't start holding your breath now!) But I wouldn't expect to pay for him to take her to a play or out to dinner.

Would they consider driving? It would save a ton on airfare and the car rental alone for a mini van might cost about the same as gas.

Unfortunately, she has really bad vision, and doesn't drive other than the couple miles around her house that she's comfortable with - and even then not at night or anything. I think a 20 hour drive would just be too long for him to drive alone.

Which actually reminds me - I remember her telling me a year or two ago that her doctor had said she couldn't ride any more rollercoasters or "rough" rides because she'd be taking a chance on losing the remainder of her vision. If this is still the case, it seems like she'd be missing out on a lot of the "big" rides at Uni, and honestly, even Disney!

Sounds like My oldest DS when a friend of his told him he had an extra ticket to wrestle mania in orlando and could he go and he would give him the ticket for free and now it is a month away and he came to us and said that the friend needs $50.00 for the ticket:scared1: and by they way mom and dad I need another $50.00 just in case I see something I want:crazy2:

$50 seems a bit steep to pay for a "free" ticket! ;)

Okay, stole this from someone else's signature, but had to share it with you guys!

Hey, it's supposed to be 33 here today! The boys will be out knocking down our snowbanks in preparation for the next big storm we're supposed to get on Tuesday! Woo hoo!
