With this Nascar thing, I don't follow it, but I'll take the guy named Biffle, cause his name sounds like he could have been a character on Gumby :lmao:
:thumbsup2 This is my pick too! I picked him 'cause of his sponsor - 3M that makes the "post-it" notes. You pick him 'cause of his name.

Penny and Tricia are probably :rotfl2: over how we picked our drivers.

:)

mr mac is a jock.
he rides across america, walks across the canyon and goes up to upper wisconsin to ski. he does it all. it is either, race walking, biking, kayaking, running, skiing, snow shoeing, etc........depends on the weather of the day.

Good for Mr. Mac. Looks like not all CPA's live a sedentary lifestyle.:thumbsup2

From Marcie:
I know you won't believe this, but I swear (honestly!) we finally taught DS14 last summer, so he knew how before he entered high school!

For some reason, my other two learned before kindergarten. Somehow we missed it with him, and then he was all upset when he was in the younger grades and refused to learn, then we just somehow always made a point of getting him slipon shoes or velcro. We finally decided it might be a useful life skill to master. Of course at 14 it took about 10 minutes to grasp, but still!

Thanks Marcie - I know my DS didn't not know to tie his shoes either in 3rd grade. At 13 (in a week) he still only does a so-so job. They are always coming untied. We also opted for the velcro tennis shoes for school until about 6th grade. THen his feet were too big and most of the shoes no longer came with velcro.

DS just doesn't have fine motor skills. He takes this after me.;)

Children - they make the world go around.

From Marcie:

Okay, one funny story to leave you guys with that I just never got around to to telling you this weekend:

The boys had a half day on Friday, so Stephen and I went out to lunch at Olive Garden and dropped Matt and GF at the mall. Well, their BIG anniversary (ONE YEAR) is coming up next Sunday, plus of course Valentine’s Day. So they were kind of shopping together. Matt picked out and helped her stuff a Build-a-Bear teddy. Well, you know how you get a birth certificate with it that you fill out with the name, etc.? We looked at the certificate (they left it in the car when they went somewhere else) and it said “Stuffed for you with love by MATTSIE POO!” Um, okay! Yeah, he’s way gone!

I would think your other son that saw this was just rolling with laughter.:rotfl2:

Now that I am all caught up, I will say Good Morning to Fletch.:)

HAPPY  VALENTINES  DAY  HOMIES! !

Wishing you a wonderful day full of love and CHOCOLATE! (except for wendy and fletch who are dieting)

:) Jennifer

Yeah. . . and I ALWAYS get chocolate covered strawberries from Peases. . . wait. . . probably none of you know about Peases. . . OMG. . . . I wish I could send you all some. Well. . . I won't be getting any of that today.

damo, you have a fantastic 2-3 weeks coming up. 3 different hotels and your new home, wow!.

we did clean up after the last party.........don't worry, the place still looks great......:rolleyes1
you will have so much fun........and sunshine!

remember to take pics.

i didn't know you were into the princess and pirate stuff.
that's kewl

I quite like the Pirates and Princess party. My son's girlfriend is a big Disney nut and has never, ever been to Disney. The Pirates and Princes should be a lot of fun with her.

:cool1: That sounds like a fabulous trip. Enjoy the new house. So is dh staying behind to keep the snow shoveled?

Yes, it is DH's turn to stay home while the rest of us go play in the heat. If it wasn't for the dog, we'd all go but someone needs to stay home with her. Besides, he already got a holiday!

It is so funny seeing your son in love isn't it. They get whipped so fast, it's hard to believe.

Happy Valentines Day:banana:
go grab a kitty & give it a hug

kfed - lucky 13!

barb - u do play catsup well:thumbsup2 . We got stuck with a beach house years ago when buds bailed, had lots of room to roam though...never again. So, at the risk of being crass - is ma paying her own way?

mac - thanks for the info, sounds like mr mac is a vigorous sort of guy:woohoo: ; hard to keep up with lol. If he sez it's doable, i'm taking his word for it! It'll be end of June, we'll be toasty. I was more concerned about getting a room with AC:lmao: ; my tent camping days are long behind me...ground has gotten much harder in my declining years. how small r u writing vacation days on the calender? lol

damo - :cool1: , spring break? the parties are the way to go if you don't want to spring for the MYW tix, we're probably just going to do 2 MNSSHP parties in Oct. instead of buying the the tix. Do they let you in the gates @ 4:00 p.m. then too? whipped? i prefer to call it trained;)

marci - feeling better? mattsie poo:rotfl: , remind him of this in a few years lol

lori - i think your DD is an exception, seems as though the few kids i know with birthdays around holidays tend to get gyped in the gift dept, at least by extended family...nice to hear you make it special for her

mary - good luck on BK, i had to drive 50 miles RT to get the simpsons toys for boy

jennifer - KWYM as to shoes; my DS knew how to tie their shoes when they were sent off to parochial school. However, head nun didn't like how they tied them:rolleyes1 church is all about conforming; now the oldest 2 do a weird "rabbit ear" thing where there is much production...weird to watch.

wendy - stawberries, chocolate, champagne:idea:

Yes you get in at 4. It is a pretty good savings and the crowds are a lot lower.

With this Nascar thing, I don't follow it, but I'll take the guy named Biffle, cause his name sounds like he could have been a character on Gumby :lmao:

I will put you down for Biffe-
his name is greg biffle, and he is a good driver, he is DH's other fav aside for carl edwards

you made a great choice:thumbsup2

OK, I just saw that someone picked the guy with the funny name, I'll have to contemplate this big decision and get back to you???? :confused3

more than 1 person can have the same driver

i put biffle down for you.

He is a GOOD driver. (dh's second fav)

Morning guys!

I'm going to have to borrow one of Jodie's free pass thingys again. Remind her to pass me one.

Brad & I never celebrate Valentine's Day ON Valentine's Day. We always celebrate it a few days before or a few days after. Places aren't packed, flowers aren't more expensive, just generally better for us to not hit the actual day.

However, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all of you and I hope you have a great day.

For those still looking for a driver, here are some to consider:

Jeff Burton - drives a Chevy - the AT&T (formerly Cingular) car

Jeremy Mayfield - drives a Chevy - the Midnight Moon car

Jamie McMurray - drives a Ford - the Crown Royal car

Elliott Sadler - drives a Dodge - the Best Buy car

Martin Truex Jr - drives a Chevy - the Bass Pro Shops car

Casey Mears - drives a Chevy - the Kellogg's car

Ryan Newman - drives a Dodge - the Alltel car

These are all top 20 ranked drivers. Some people pick based on the kind of vehicle they drive (Chevy, Ford, etc)... some people pick based on sponsorship... some people pick based on the driver... some pick based on owner... some pick because they like the color of the car. Joshua cheers for Tony Stewart because he drives the bright orange Home Depot car. There is no right way or wrong way.

An insiders perspective, as someone who has been a fan of racing for years: I think one of the appeals to the sport is the soap opera like drama that is interwoven through it. Once you know the players, their personalities, the fights, the friends... it all gets more interesting. Of course, there are some people who learn enough about racing to decide that it isn't ever going to hold any interest for them. Nothing is appealing for everyone.

Okay, that's my long racing post for today. I'm off to finish up things around here. I still have to pack. I need to clean the bathrooms and the kitchen, but other than that I'm pretty much done. I'll have to do payroll tonight...

I'm getting ahead of myself. One thing at the time. I'm going to go start on the bathrooms. I'm sure I'll be back sometimes off and on today! :rolleyes1

LOL. . oops. . sorry. . . . :confused3

:rotfl2: And he was so quiet for me this morning!

Aww they probably would have been soggy today. I have heard a lot of bad press on that place lately. okay really never heard of the place, just trying to make you not want them

I quite like the Pirates and Princess party. My son's girlfriend is a big Disney nut and has never, ever been to Disney. The Pirates and Princes should be a lot of fun with her.

I love the parties. We have been to MNSSHP & MVMCP. Was going to try to do P & PP last year but decided it was too much with the family joining us.

It will be a great trip going with a newbie! How exciting!

Yes, it is DH's turn to stay home while the rest of us go play in the heat. If it wasn't for the dog, we'd all go but someone needs to stay home with her. Besides, he already got a holiday!

Thats right, he had his turn. Now it is yours!

Happy valentines day Janet!

Mine too! In fact I say one of these days I am going to buy one of those big motor coaches to travel in but I am still going to stay in a hotel when I get where I am going!

lori - i think your DD is an exception, seems as though the few kids i know with birthdays around holidays tend to get gyped in the gift dept, at least by extended family...nice to hear you make it special for her

Oh she does get gyped by everyone but us. Makes my blood boil. Fortunately she has not noticed how the other family members do her. When she does I am sure she will speak her mind. She is already very good at that!

jennifer - KWYM as to shoes; my DS knew how to tie their shoes when they were sent off to parochial school. However, head nun didn't like how they tied them:rolleyes1 church is all about conforming; now the oldest 2 do a weird "rabbit ear" thing where there is much production...weird to watch.

The head nun didn't like how they tied their shoes???????? You have got to be kidding me! :sad2:

Where is Jodie? Haven't seen her in a couple of days.

Happy Valentines to you too!

Great list you compiled. Those are all great drivers.

I am so glad you're almost done. Have fun packing!
