As it is Sunday morning, no wakeup call - I'll let the masses sleep in today.

To Penny, Wendy, Tricia - Congrats on Dale, Jr.

To Jodie - It is amazing how parents talk about the bathroom habits of children and pets.;) I remember when I would leave young son with DH, when I came back, I would want a full report if he changed his diaper - what did it look like????:lmao: So obviously you and Mike are good parents to your cats - you act like the rest of us.:)

Metro - see what you're missing - go get that dog, so you can share these stories as well.;)

I am going to try and roust my menfolk later this morning, to get to church today. I am taking the morning off from work, and will just go in later this afternoon.

See next post for a :scared1: story.

:) Jennifer

Here is an amazing but true story.

If you remember, I was out of town Mon-Friday for work. On Wednesday about 4:15, I get a call from DH. He relays the following to me:

I am leaving work and it is really storming pretty heavy - with lots of lightening. In fact, I am walking out with someone, and he remarks about how close the lightening is. As I am driving out of the parking lot and down the road, the car begins to shake, and the dashboard goes dark. I am having trouble controlling the car. I look back in the rearview mirror and see sparks. I think some kind of electrical transformer blew. I pull the car over and the two cars behind me pull over too. Then, the folks behind me come running up to me, asking if I'm alright. Yes, why? They say, because your car was just hit by lightening.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: WHAT?!?!

DH gets back in the car and can drive home (just 10 minutes away). He does not have any physical damage to him. (Thank you Lord) The car has some damage on the roof by the luggage rack. DH said you could smell the car like it was burnt. When the tow truck came the next day to take it to the shop, the car would not start at all. Looks like the whole eletrical system is shot.

So, first we are THANKFUL DH did not get hurt. And thankful DS was not in the car so as not to frighten him. DH was very shaken up (emotionally) by this (who wouldn't be).

DH is currently using his dad's van. Being from WV, his dad also has a Ford truck - so dad has a vehicle as well.;) We are waiting to hear from insurance as to what they want to do about vehicle.

The car is a Honda Pilot but only about 1 year old. We are hoping they will "total" it. As we think the electrical system will never work right again - we think we will have problems as long as we own the car. So, we just have to wait and see what Mr. Insurance Adjuster thinks.

Anyhoo - Thanks to the Big Guy for watching over DH this week.

:) Jennifer

I keep forgetting to mention...I like your new avatar....he/she belong to you???

Yes that is our 9 year old cocker, Rookie.

I changed the one that had our old guy Barney, who committed suicide in the fall. I figured it was time to let go.

Here is an amazing but true story.

Wow! Very scary!!! Our condo was hit by lightning once when we were in a timeshare. Threw my husband back from the window about ten feet and burned a whole through the neighbours condo. Lightning is so scary.

Did you "get" what damo explained? Have to resize to 'small' size (use edit tab at the top) and upload to photobucket or online hosting site. Copy the IMG code and paste into your text ;)

I never resize it. I just use the IMG code for forums and it is a good size.

Hello all....

I know there are like 20 pages for me to go read but i am crazy here and just wanted to say HI . I am glad to report we have ordered our bedroom set, the rug ,got the bed set and the sleep numbeer bed  and are now only working on paint :cool1: . Then more of the BIG CLEAN UP can continue . It really should be the big mary throws out some of her clothes but the Clean up sounds better to me :lmao: .

I am still looking for snow but not during presidents week now since we have all the stuff arriving between the 20th and 22nd of Feb. I am off now to go get some cleaning done , shopping and well take the kids to the Sunday bowling set we do every Sunday . I hope to be around tonight See ya all then .

I'm thinking she was having another "coke" during the race, had a little much, roar of the engines got to her, and, well... I think she's gone to bed for the night.... :rolleyes1

What? Am I THAT predictable???

:rotfl:

Morning!

Joshua wants to play on the computer, so I'll be back later...

Good morning all!!!

Wow! Dale, Jr won last night.......good for him!! I am in no way privvy to the inner workings of the drivers and what wars go on, but we have always been partial to Tony Stewart - Court picked out the Home Depot car many years ago and that is who is our lead guy....then Jr is next. Changes from race to race sometimes too, depnding on how the race is going and who really "deserves it", KWIM??

I would really like to take the person who resurrected the transformers and throttle them a good one

I have dealt with the "can you do this mom? I can't change him into a robot/car/plane! Can you do it mom?" This started last night and again at freaking 6:15 in the Angry Mike hours (thanks for the phrase Jodie - we should all now adopt that for the board:thumbsup2)

I need about 4 more cups of coffee
4.gif
to ketchup - I am grumpy, tired and need to start the laundry......but have no fear, I shall return at some point this morning to chat and comment on the stinking 8million pages I missed yesterday

Oh and for the record....the sun is shining, but it is REALLY windy and stinking cold as all heck!

i didn't turn the lights out yet.

they were out on my street? :confused3

wow!! I am very glad your DH is okay.....when you look back, it's scary....but he didn't know he was getting hit by lightening...so, that should have helped. They do say if you're outside, you want to be in your vehicle....the rubber tires insulate you and you won't be struck. I'm hoping it just blew your fuse box and all will be well....if not...good thing you have insurance! :thumbsup2 Keep us posted with what they say.....

Yes that is our 9 year old cocker, Rookie.

I changed the one that had our old guy Barney, who committed suicide in the fall. I figured it was time to let go.

that's kinda what I thought

What? Am I THAT predictable???

I don't see you denying it :rolleyes1

You're fostering a cocker spaniel??? How nice of you!!! I'm very partial to cockers.

Have you uploaded your pictures to photobucket yet? If so, they have a link called IMG CODE, under each picture, for forums that you just copy and paste here.

We, also, love cockers. . .blondes would be the family favorite. My dad had always wanted a cocker spaniel. . . when I was 16, my mom decided to get him one as a xmas gift. . . so the day before xmas, my mom, my grandma and I drove a couple of hours to a good breeders and picked up a pup. I stayed at my gma's house that night and the next morning, we drove pup to our home, put pup in the box we had wrapped for this purpose and told my dad he had to open it immediately. I will never forget the family gathered around the kitchen table where this big box was wrapped and my dad taking the lid off. . . a memory that is absolutely priceless. . . first time I ever saw a tear from my father. . . and honestly, one of only twice.

So he names her Taffy. . .registered her as Dave's Taffy 2. . . and she had a very long life with our family.

Forward to today. . . we are keeping Nala, the cocker, for my nephew. He got her about a year ago. . she's one this month and dh just took her to the vet yesterday for her check up and shots. . . pronounced to be very healthy. Anyway, management where nephew was living decided to change their pet policy and no longer allow dogs, so he had to move. Against his better judgement, he moved in with his girlfriend and a couple of weeks ago, moved right back out. He had no place to take Nala and was devastated, so he called and asked if we could keep her for a while. We have a very, very large golden retriever who is older. He doesn't like other dogs much and we weren't sure that would work at all. So we agreed to try it and after a few days they became the best of friends. She took a couple of licks. . . ok, they were really nips, because she is so friendly, has also never been around other dogs and doesn't behave well. She got a warning when she went to Montana's food dish and again when she had one of his toys. Since then, it's all worked out and he even gets food out of his dish and sets it on the floor for her. When she wants to play. . .which is most of the time. . . he will play tug o war with her or run around the house like crazy. It's funny, but she's like having a two year old in the house. She's got more energy than any dog I have ever seen, and I grew up with dogs. She can jump over just about anything and doesn't appear to have hear "no" very much. She's uber spoiled by nephew. . but he's young, no kids or spouse and has an excellent job as a personal trainer. So now I'm dealing with 3 kids, a bunny, two dogs, a husband and a full time job. . . . heck, easy compared to a few years ago when we had all 6 kids at home :scared1:

So my pics are in my kodak easy share program and I can't seem to get them loaded into photo bucket. If I could get them there, I could get them here. I worked on it last night, but haven't figured it out yet. I've got tons of pics. . .kids, dogs, bunny. . even dh. . . just can't get them here.

sorry about the transformer thing  Is his age on the box? Maybe it's for older kids? We used to tell Bubba he was too old/young for the age on the box.... :rotfl: worked every time! :rotfl:

We have the wind....but our sun isn't "out" as much as it is "in" :headache: :confused3

Off to get ready for birthday party....he's still coughing, but fever hasn't come back....yet (i think it's trying to :( )
Anyone going to church....please slip a side note into the big Man for me for a "feeling better enuf to enjoy his birthday party" boy....thanks!

Have a good Sunday everyone..... :teeth:

wendy: so glad your guy won. why did you have to burst dh bubble and tell him he bought a flawed little car from that tv station........he would have never noticed it. men never do.

well. . . I told him because we are true collectors and no flaws allowed. . . and you are right, I don't think he would have noticed, but that's why I look them over before they go into display cases. Them pups are expensive! And anyway. . . he'll get over it when the new one comes. . . which for the distributor's sake better be quick or they have guaranteed a minimum of one call per day from hubster

Can you get them onto the kodak gallery that is online? I want to see!!!

When you go into photobucket, it asks you to upload. Go into your computer's pictures, and then into kodak galley and you should be able to click on them to upload them.

Suuurrrreeee....I finally get here, you leave :snooty: AND....I watched the end of the race  :thumbsup2

I'm not having any problems....what is your connection? Maybe you have a problem thru there...I'm not having any problems with boards.... :confused3

Have a good nite :goodvibes

I have satelite dsl. The company does have lots of trouble but it is all we can get if we don't want dial up. So it probably was on my end this time.

Yes, seizures can be "pediatric". He could have no problems in a few years. There's about a 50/50 chance.

No roller coasters as long as he is still considered a seizure risk. As long as he is on anti-convulsive medications... nope. Can't risk it.

And it is even possible that he will never have another one, which is what we are all hoping for.

Clearly, I wasn't thinking. In hindsight, I can say, "What did you expect?"

You should have seen the people pressed shoulder to shoulder... pushing, shoving... grabbing anything that had a heart on it. Every few seconds somebody would hit one of those damn singing/dancing stuffed animals and the whole aisle would groan. It was frightening.

Even as busy as ours was the Valentine aisles were empty.

 :lmao:

Umm....ya think??? I really wonder what is happening the world :confused3 Used to be normal to have to 'spell' your surname for people....anymore, you need to spell a first name now too! :sad2: Pretty soon things you can buy personalized in the store (w/o special order) are gonna be non-existant because nobody will have a 'normal' first name..... ...or have a normal name, but it's spelled weird! :headache:

Guilty. Allyson is not the normal spelling. We can't ever find anything with her name on it.

Okay.... so, I we finished watching our movie tonite, and it's just before 10pm. So, i put FOX on to catch the 10:00 news.....only, there are 6-8 laps left to go in the race.... So, why not? :confused3 I watched and when I saw Dale Jr. win, I was :yay:

Not that I know a thing about racing (except left turns only please), but since I know about the b**** story....I was :cool1: ..... thanks to you guys! I wuz happy for my homies.... (even tho I had NO clue what else was going on!)

Are we converting you????:woohoo:

i could talk about our cats all day and night long.
so much easier than children........and i have both

Can't wait to hear your stories too.

That's okay....have to get up and get moving in the morning.... have to pick up cake and ice in the morning and get ready to leave by 11am.

Have a great day with our Bubba. Hope he is better this morning.

As it is Sunday morning, no wakeup call - I'll let the masses sleep in today.

But if the masses all sleep in won't they miss mass?

To Penny, Wendy, Tricia - Congrats on Dale, Jr.

What about me? I started it all! :rolleyes1 He is not my top driver but he is tied for second! Actually I want a lot of wins for Jr, Jeff & Jimmy. But I really want Jr. to win the chase this year. That will show her!

Hi Tracie! I know nothing about transformers. Fbean was brave waking momma up so early for that. So why didn't he wake up dad????

As for me & racing I will pull for Jr., Jeff, Jimmy and sometimes Tony. Never, ever, ever for the stinking Busch brothers. I swear one of these days one of them is going to hurt someone badly.

We had another front move in. Can't believe I had to run the AC in the car yesterday & have the possibility of a little ice overnight tonight. Stay warm!

Damo . . . here you go. . . this is Nala. She is one year old this month.

She is so pretty. Looks very similar to our first blonde cocker, Samson. Who would have been 25 this January (hahaha). He died ten years ago. He had the same freckles on his nose.

This was Samson 21 years ago.

mathtest10009.jpg

And him again just before he died. The freckles were all gone because his face was then white.
