marci - u must've hit it just right @ DL:confused3 , the food is easily 1/4 to 1/3 more in the parks. Tix are now in the same ballpark as WDW too, 4 & 5 day PHs over $200...don't get me started on airfair;) . If i hadn't have had rewards & vouchers for part of the travel we wouldn't be going.:sad2: I booked early & complained about the $ then; now it's more than $624 per person on "sale" lowest priced carrier (SW).

when do you leave to be a snow bunny?

Wow - I'm sure we paid less than $100 per person for our DL tickets. They were the Buy 3 days, get 2 free ones or something like that. This was 4 years ago, but I'm amazed they went up that much! And I think we paid low $200's for air, which seems to be the best we get no matter where or when we book (yes, we do find MORE, but never less).

We leave on March 20th to drive down to Milwaukee for an early flight the next morning to Boston.

Oh, and before I sign off - tomorrow's the big day! Matt goes to take his drivers' test so wish him luck! Well, I have to go deal with a 14 year old who can't find anything to pack for lunch (I don't like the icky wheat bread - what can I eat that doesn't need bread?!)! Catch you all later!

marci - asked the principal when we spoke yesterday as to what one he'd need thru graduation. He told me the TI83 plus is the only one the district purchase for use all thru HS:confused3 and that they can download whatever they need to it when they advance?:headache:

ps he's in Algebra II & most of the kids were assigned the TI82. The principal made a big deal of saying DS was lucky to have been given the "better model" to use (& lose lol) Next year is Trig (maybe calculus; probably not untill 11th grade) then calc II

also, was told only the 83plus' can be used on the SATs (we don't do ACTs as a rule)

i think i'll hold off purchasing his "personal" calculator JIK and wait & see what loaner they hand him next year lol.

i think mac & jodie are doing Columbus Day week?

we're probably not going to get into dodge until late afternoon on Saturday 10/18, then (shamefully w/o MYW or APs...only MNSSHP @ WDW...how will we go on:rotfl: ). One of the reasons i'd like to try AKV to have something furry to stare at during the day:laughing: to kill time.

We'll do U 1 or 2 days as day guests & HHN (hopefully if they have it on Wednesday, otherwise will have to cut out the sunday MNSSHP)...then adrift:goodvibes

go get 'em Matt!! use the GPS:drive:

stephen king is calling me - night all

think i figured out how the salsa got on Marcie's ceiling.
flung by a spoon. DONT ASK WHY I KNOW THAT.

good luck to the driver on the road tomorrow.

well, looks like I get the bad parent award today. had to take Niles to the vet. 16 pounds of yowling furball . all the way there and a lungfull when we got into the door back home. they gave me a long tube to use to get a pill down his throat. imagine, an ugly bad footed 41 year old trying to get a pill down a cats throat. stay tuned. we could end up on cnn, or worse, youtube. he will be fine. momma here feels real bad. really guilty. i'll get over it.

don't fret.
it has always been hard for me to take the cats to the vet.
i have started to be a pro with the meds on one of the kitties.

for 3 years, i had to give insulin injections to one cat every 12 hours.
then monthly vet visits with glucose testing regularly.

now i give arthritis meds and thyroid meds to the same cat.

i'm surprised she still loves me with what she goes thru in order to get the medicine down her.

Quick stop in from the land of frustration. Anyone want three teen (or almost) boys? Just one of those days where you're ready to sell them to the lowest bidder (no, not the highest, then they might want their money back!). Tricia, I'll take the adorable kids in your pics any day!

Anyone read the thread called something like "Things I never thought I'd say to my kids"? I'll add to it things I thought I'd never have to say to a 12 and 14 year old:

Do not throw ripped up pieces of tortilla shells all over the kitchen floor.

And... Why is there salsa all over the ceiling? :rotfl:

Yep, that was what the kitchen looked like when I got home from work this afternoon. Evidently they got in a fight and chose weapons of Mexican destruction! ;)

at least they didn't use rice.....that stuff is hard to find and sticky...

boys will be boys ..........:rolleyes1

For post # 8,000 I will bid you all a fond good night.

Sleep well and pleasant dreams!

sweet sleep todd.
we are honored you came "home" for the big one....
congrats on the 8K posting

MAC! What are your dates in October again? I'm pricing out the week of October 19th with my handy dandy 40% email and I'm starting to get down to a reasonable price.

my dates are oct 1-13th.
i already have HRH booked so can't change my dates.
go when i go.............you know you want to.....:woohoo:

somebody else will be there then:rolleyes1 , i checked my notes (all are for rack rate-AAA evidently is sold out:confused3 )

i had priced out 1 night (Saturday) pre stay on DVC points since the weekends burn alot of points...wound up booking on points lol

AK-Stand is $279
WL is $372
CR MK View is $524
Poly is $597
GF is $620

in '06 i was able to book both Fri & Sat @ CR MK View for less than $600 on AAA rate:sad2:

curious, can you book the Villas @ the 40% off?

i haven't booked my disney portion yet.
i know the new system is rate per day with weekends higher.
it burns me to pay $109 + tax for a weekend night at the value resort.
at least the super 8 gives a free breakfast for what they charge.

Good heavens NO! He is not my type. Too pretty and broody and... something... I don't know. He never did it for me.

I'll have to think of someone drool worthy.

Sean Connery

Marci I got my bedroom set at Raymour & Flanigan . It was about $800. or more . We use it to keep our TV in because I couldn't stand a seperate TV stand in the bedroom and I am so happy not to have to see it in the bedroom during the day. I don't want any more teenagers I have 1 already and one that is on her way at 12 yrs old. I don't really need 3 more but maybe your boys are better then my Girls . :rotfl2: I don't think so but hey anything can happen.
Weapons of Mexican destruction... That is pretty :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: . Those boys should clean up the mess and then take mom to dinner .:thumbsup2

Rose I am glad to hear that your Dad is doing better . We will keep him in our thoughts .

Lori . The story about the pole falling on the Gas Station was just on the News . I am watching Fox 5 . Not the best news cast but hey it is on at 10 PM and I am still awake .

Speaking of the time I am off to :cloud9: Bed .

Someone bought a new bed sorry can't remember who , Good luck with your new mattress though. I have to say I did Tip everyone that came to our home to deliver or set up any of our stuff.

Who would have OCD with a sleep number bed ??:rotfl: Not me so far so good I am at 45 now and am really liking it . :woohoo:

Ok really off to sleep now .:cloud9:

Jodie
we were in this house not even a week and I announced
WE ARE GETTING A KING SIZE BED. WE ARE GOING ON SUNDAY TO BUY ONE.

we did, and before it arrived a week later, i had all the new linens ready to go. two young guys came to deliver it and i said, gentlemen, if you dismantle the queen in that room and set it up in the other room, your lunch is on me.
i waved a couple of twenties and got dual smiles and no problem ma'am. DH was at work and was outnumbered on the whole decision anyway, I called him and said, it is done.
He was happy. I stopped *^&@#ing. Well, for a moment I did. Maybe a whole minute even.

Thanks for the driving luck all! Now the day is totally messed up because our high school BB team qualified for the state tournament. So of course the band (and most of the school) is going to Madison tomorrow - nearly 3 hours away from here. Matt's scheduled to take his driver's test at 9 down near Milwaukee, but I was hoping it would be a half hour or so and then he could be back for his AP classes in the afternoon. But now it's an early release so everyone can get to Madison. So he'll miss the classes either way. Dad's going to take him to the test so they can head right to Madison (except for some stops at the Apple stores on the way!) afterwards.

Frustrating thing is that they'll be back around midnight, then school the next day and if the team WINS, heading back out AGAIN to Madison Friday night for an 8:30 game getting home probably after 1am! This is Matt, but also Stephen. And if they win AGAIN, then they have to go back on Saturday for a late game again! This is going to be one crazy weekend. And my kids don't even play basketball! I'm hoping that they lose!

marci - asked the principal when we spoke yesterday as to what one he'd need thru graduation.

I know in our old district the 83 or 84 were fine. But here the 89 (about $150) is required. It is allowed on the SAT (and strongly recommended for the AP Calc exams), but not on the ACT, which is what most kids here take.

give your son cheese and meat rollups without bread!:thumbsup2
and veggie sticks! maybe container of fruit/pudding/applesauce?

He needs the lunch for the bus ride out to Madison (he'll actually eat lunch at school but no time for dinner!). We compromised on soft taco shells, ham slices, lettuce and shredded cheese. Luckily there were at least some taco shells in the fridge! I have SO much junk food in the pantry (thanks Grandma!) that I'm tempted to pack him a huge bag of it to share with his buddies on the bus! All right, I'm really going to bed this time! Night all!

We usually stay at POR but have recently found the ALL Star Music family suites and  LOVE them much better then the POR. How many in your party? We have 5 so it is always about the room size for us.

BTW I really want a room with a view of the ocean and at least one Palm Tree. I'll take Jon Bon Jovi as my moving buddy .:thumbsup2

i really need to stop drinking all this water after 9 pm at night.:scared:

Barb! you out there?

Mac- I PM'd you again earlier. You didn't read it yet, I don't think.

Hi all-
Didnt finish my hospital visit story. So, my dad had the visit with the GI surgeon while I was there visiting today. Surgeon had on a Disney pin- red, white and blue striped Mickey ears pin. So when Dr. finished checking my dad, I mentioned to the Dr. that I noticed his Disney pin. He was thrilled I noticed his pin. I told him I am a Disney freak. He said, "It's the most magical place on earth!". I said yes, I know, but expensive. He said he goes all the time. I didn't tell him about the Disboards or if he is a DISer? Then he left and a couple of minutes later he waves at us from outside the room, hopping around :yay: :rotfl: Seems like a nice doctor :)

When I got home from visit with my dad, I called my mom at work and we were laughing that my cousin's FIL visiting my dad, that they don't like each other, or my dad doesn't like him

THank you all for your good thoughts and prayers for my dad! Still keep him in your thoughts. Not over yet. Thanks!

Ok, have a good evening all.

RE BRAD PRITT
Good heavens NO! He is not my type. Too pretty and broody and... something... I don't know. He never did it for me.

I'll have to think of someone drool worthy.

If Brad happens to show up, show him to my hot tub!;)
