What is the "UP" of Michigan? :confused3 Some high peak of northern nowhere???

Oooh... ooooh... I know this one! The U.P. is the Upper Peninsula. What'd I win?!?!?

Here ya go:

And move over....cuz the last email notification i got was YESTERDAY afternoon!! I think it's slow to 'preview' post and 'multi quote', but not posting it....

That is going to be ONE CROWDED soap box. I haven't had an email all day and it is taking friggin FOREVER to post/refresh.

Thanks for the helpful update DIS!

Yep....and GIANTS are winning

Penny must be losing her ever lovin' mind! :cheer2:

Evening everyone!

Wow the DIS is moving slow tonite!

So for the toothache...

- 800 mg of motrin
- numbing gel for the gum
- cotton ball/bottle of whiskey (isn't it the same? :confused3 )
- Dope (grams: unknown)

So is that the SAN remedy for a toothache?

Barb: great job catching up! Beautiful necklace!!!

Tricia: Your boys are adorable!

Hope all the Daddies out there are feeling better!

Everyone who wished me "no pain"...thanks!!! On 600 mg of Advil right now....still searching for another dentist :headache:

and today is the day that i did not go pick up my parents to take to brother's son's wedding at 3:30 today.

long story.
brother is a jerk to me and parents did not want to go to the wedding.

i just got home tuesday night, i was dreading driving all that way again 2 days later. i'm going back to the parents to help out but waiting a month for that.

I would say that I'm sorry things didn't work out, but... well... it sounds like not going was the best thing all around.

We get to pick our friends, even these here in the box, but family-by-blood... you don't get to pick those. You have to deal with them however is best for you. Sometimes that means staying the heck away from them. :rolleyes1

That's right...that was today. So, bro is ticked at you...is he ticked at Mom & Dad?? He really can't be...with Dad just having surgery and all.... duh.....

Did I tell you that everyone loved the cheese straws!

No and YAY!!!! :yay:

maybe i should send out the Christmas cards in july so they will get there in time.....

It's called "Christmas in July" ;) (My Aunt avoids it altogether....she sends Thanksgiving cards  )

yes, got him situated christmas eve night.
it's still kind of an iffy thing right now.

trying to make plans to go see my brother but don't know if i can in case i have to go back and help out at home.
what to do, what to do.........

Your Dad has a lot of Mummydust floatin' around him now :goodvibes .... Would this be "Hawaii brother" we are talking about?? When are you planning to see him?? Spring or summer?

i make my mash potatoes in the sink.

stick the bowl there, plug the mixer in and voila....

I mix mine in the pot  (in the sink)

And I am no longer getting email notifications. That just plain stinks!!!!!!!!!!!

I got 1...but not off this thread.... :confused3

Are the boards real slow tonight, or is it my computer?? :confused3

Waiting to see what's going on with DH's job first. We are hoping his job goes permanent very soon! They are half-teasing him at this job, as he just got a company email acct. and they ordered him a new desk and chair. Desk and chair are not in yet, maybe coming in a couple of weeks. He did get a small Christmas bonus at the company Christmas lunch last week, too :thumbsup2
It's such a tease. I hope it will be some kind of good news.

Oh, back to UO whoever can answer this, is there any kind of UO DVD to watch, like a UO planning DVD? I looked on hte UO website a week ago and didn't see anything. Of course we all know Disney has it's own planning DVD, as I have the 2007 one. DH and I could really use a UO planning DVD.

It's not you Rose...the boards are 'database error' on me too :headache: Hope the bugs get worked out :confused3

DH's job DOES sound like a tease, but why would they order new furniture and such if they planned to let him go?? He's obviously doing something right...he's been there 5 months..... Keep your faith

And, sadly, no...UO doesn't have the planning dvd WDW has.... oh well...maybe again someday.....

And, must mention...we watched Simpson's movie tonight :rotfl: We laughed at the part where they referred to the "mouse" :rotfl2:

Good movie...but, I wouldn't pay $17 to own it tho....:sad2:

Sharon - I will tell Ally. Thanks! Any shopping with your daughter today?

Kinda, I went to Circuit City and exchanged the wide screen monitor I got for xmas for a square one. I hated the widescreen! Everyone else in the house has a wide screen and thinks I am nuts for not liking it, but why should I keep it if I don't like it?

I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems with the dis. I can't upload pics to photobucket either. :confused3

DH is not a happy camper. Pats are losing....

Thanks for clearing that up...will haveta check it out :thumbsup2

Yep, boards are having 'issues' tonite :headache: Well.... you need more than THAT for the SAN remedy..... beers, wine, cheese, chocolate, cozy jammies, etc.....

We get to pick our friends, even these here in the box, but family-by-blood... you don't get to pick those. You have to deal with them however is best for you. Sometimes that means staying the heck away from them. :rolleyes1

works for me! :thumbsup2

What didn't you like about the 'widescreen' Sharon??? Thought that was the way to go these days??? And, no, you shouldn't keep it if you don't like it.... :thumbsup2

Ugh...SO SLOW!!!

Hey the Giants are up by 5 :woohoo:

Don't watch football at all, but what the heck....

GO GIANTS!!!

Well....the Giants are now losing.... 4:18 to go...down by 10.... it was a good game :thumbsup2

DIS is unbelievably slow....I'm done with it tonite....

Have good nite y'all....

Tomorrow is another day....

Man this is the slowest I ever seen this board and been trying to post for the longest time and wouldn't let me until now.
Well hope all of you have a great day.

Good Sunday Morning.

Let me add my 2cents - I also think the DIS is S-L-O-W.

Tricia - your pics were wonderful of the boys. Enjoy the "magic" of Santa - soon they will be surly teenagers (and mine isn't officially 13 until mid-Feb!!).

Tricia - looks like you put on a nice spread for the holidays - no wonder your family always wants to come to your house.

Lori - Your Okies beat our Mounties last night in bball - in double overtime. I am wishing for a good football game. Yes, our coach left us stranded and went to Michigan. The university is suing him for the 4million buyout. He will of course countersue for "fraudulent contract" or something else. It has been a sad day for WVU fans since that sickening Pitt loss on Dec 1. January can't come too soon for us.

I also think it is horrible for people to treat children different based upon their parentage. Children are young and they don't understand why. My sister has a new man in her life (getting married April '08). He has three children from two previous marriages (ages 10-15). They have come to my mom's house for Sunday dinners and other gatherings. Both my other sister, my mom, and me called my sis several times so that we would know if these kids would be at my mom's for Christmas Eve. If they were coming, we all were going to buy them something so they would not be the only ones without presents. They were not there as they were with their mother.

Growing up there were 4 kids in our family. We were the old-fashioned family with same mom, same dad. And I remember my mom making sure she spent the same amount of money on each of us, as well as having the same number of presents. She did this so no one could say favortism. This has always stuck with me.

Well, hope everyone has a nice Sunday and end to 2007. Wednesday, January 2nd will be here soon, and we'll all get back to work, school, that old routine again!!

-Jennifer

Morning everyone.....

Things seem to be running 'normal' this morning..... ;)

Well....you knew someone was bound to mention that sooner or later...... :(

I gave up last night. Too slow, too frustrating. I am hormonal enough. I didn't want to wind up on somebody's "You Had A Bad Day" video with me flinging my monitor through the wall or something.

Sharon, I forgot to answer you last night. Well, I didn't forget... I just got fed up with the boards and stopped trying. Yes, that was the red velvet cake I made (what was left of it) and I am glad the cheese straws were a hit.

I am not doing a good job of keeping up with everyone right now. I'm sorry for that. I'll read a post and think of a response and then it's gone from my brain by the time I get to reply. I need to start multi quoting again. If I can ever get things settled around here... HA... who am I kidding...

Penny, I'm sorry (really) that the Giants didn't hang on for you. At least they gave us a good game to watch.

We've had rain off and on for THREE DAYS here! There are puddles people... PUDDLES! :woohoo: I can't tell you the last time I saw puddles of water. Seriously. It's been months. We may not have the driest year on record now. As of this morning, we only need 1.25 inches of rainfall to rise above the driest year. At the rate the rain is falling out there now, we may just get that before it's done. Not that we aren't still in serious drought conditions and all that, but I'll celebrate the rain while I can.

We may be venturing out to try and find shoes for Joshua AGAIN. Oh, and our DVD in a bag that the boys watch in the car on long trips has died. Looks like we've got an unexpected purchase on our hands. :headache:

morning homies.
i would have been on earlier today but couldn't pull up the second page of the thread right away. after a ten minute wait i am now here for a drive by.

i agree tricia..........i had lots of bad thoughts last night when i could not connect to the dis. still no notifications to my subscriptions.

btw, i won't be at the darkside at christmas in 08, i'll be there meeting up with todd in october.
i never go away at christmas time. this year was an exception though due to dad's surgery.
we don't celebrate unless we all are home together.

i'm going to church now.
got your backs covered for the week.

bbl

jbarb, those pics are adorable but i am worried that the baby will fall off that little tricycle.......

wow....you really made a haul. i counted those boxes.

Barb - Ryan looks excited once he remembered it was Christmas! That's a great shot of his expression on the way down the stairs. Santa did good!

It looks like Santa DH was good to you too. Brad & I don't exchange gifts anymore. We spend all the money we have on the boys. Maybe someday when we have spare cash... but for now, this is the only gift I got from Brad:

BradCard.jpg

Rose - So glad to hear that dh's job situation is lookin up. Keep the faith, sounds like it is going permanent to me.

Barb - What a haul. You must have been very good this year! Great pics of the baby & bubba too!

Sharon - I wouldn't like the wide screen either. Don't blame you at all for taking it back.

Tricia - Hope the rain continues. We have had so many of those years with no rain but this year was our wettest ever. Thought we were going to float away for a while there earlier this year.

Katie - Hope you are feeling better this morning. Good luck with the dentist search.

Penny - Sorry the Giants lost but can't say I am surprised Eli blew it again. It was a very good game.

Jennifer - Good to see you. Our paper had a report in the sports section yesterday that said your kicker got death threats after the game. Did you hear anything about it or is it just a bunch of crap from our rag here? Also said that 7000 tickets were returned and that there aren't many fans following them to the game? Of course I would much rather watch it from the comfort of my own home too.

Hi to everyone else. Stinkin DIS is too slow for me. Hope they get the bugs worked out soon.

Yay!!! Tricia's got puddles

Good luck with the shoe shoppin' and finding a new DVD player.....at least you might find a good sale :confused3
