Here are some before and after pix of the dining and living rooms. The dining room is a Warm Beige color (shown here with two coats of Kilz) and the living room is a Sage Green.

Sorry guys that I didn't get to stop in during the day today. At work we got a new bank account so I got to spend the day today contacting all zillion companies we deal with to get the forms to get the commissions into our new account (that's always a good thing). I got maybe a quarter of them done, so I know what I'll be doing all week!

One company I talked to was in Oklahoma and they were closing due to inclement weather. Thought of Lori, so I looked at weather.com, and this is what I read for her area:

ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST TUESDAY...

FREEZING RAIN WILL CONTINUE TONIGHT OVER ABOUT THE NORTHWEST HALF OF OKLAHOMA. THE HEAVIEST NEW ICE ACCUMULATIONS WILL LIKELY BE IN FAR NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA... WHILE THE LEAST ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE NEAR I-44... INCLUDING OKLAHOMA CITY AND VICINITY. HOWEVER... HEAVY ACCUMULATIONS OF ICE HAVE ALREADY FORMED IN THE VICINITY OF I-44... SO EVEN THE SMALL NEW ACCUMULATIONS MAY CAUSE ADDITIONAL TREE AND POWER LINE DAMAGE. :scared1:

So spread some pixie dust for her because I really don't think they're prepared for that weather down there (although really no areas are ever fully prepared for ice, but at least we have salt here to spread on it!).

Ouch...That's rough!

I guess everyone is out tonight. I'm heading to bed now. Have a good night and a great day tomorrow! :teeth:

i'm probably wrong but thought lori was southwest of OK city.

i hope she is doing okay. maybe she got hit with the ice storm as i haven't seen her around tonight.

i tell you, OK is tough in the winter.
i had a son at fort sill.......went to see him and the summer is just as harsh as their winter........

if you are reading this lori, hang in there.
we are sending you mummy dust.

marcie, disney does pixie dust, universal does mummy dust........get with the program..... you know i'm kidding. i'm a big kid-er most of the time

i am so impressed.......
your place is clean as a whistle.
you have no clutter.
you have beautiful furniture and furnishings.
you have a great eye for color and decorating.

i want to be like todd when i grow up!
i should take notes.

that is so pretty!!
and you made that ceramic tree yourself?
wow, you have talent

if you consider painting the glaze on it and firing it...then, yes, I did it myself.... (it was already 'molded')

when i figure out how to post, i can show you 12 inches of snow and my drive way that has little mountains on each side from where i pitch the snow.....

didja figure out how to post yet?? :confused3

Mac - hey, cut me some slack! I've been a DIS'er for 8 years, but only a "Universal Thread-er" for what, 8 months? When did you start this thread? Amazing I've been on it since page 1 believe it or not!

I thought Lori had told me she was near Norman (I have a friend from there), which on the weather map I looked at looked south of Oklahoma City (but probably same metropolitan area). Either way, looked like the whole state was getting a lot of pink!

I would if I had put it up yet LOL:rotfl2: :lmao:

C'mon.... :rolleyes1 better git that tree up!! Only TWO weeks to go

Here's our Christmas tree. This is our first year with a faux (sounds better than fake!) tree.

tree6.jpg

Barb - great looking tree. Nice photos of Bubba too!

Thank you for compliment of mai boy..... I think your 'faux' tree is just beautiful! That is the one 'plus' to a faux tree....all the branches are strong, so no need to 'plot & plan' where the heavy (or light) ornaments go :guilty: (I also love the full shape of the tree too!)

Very nice...here's my fake...er...faux tree.

The first one is light but you can't really see the lights:

The second one is darker so you can see the lights:

Very nice tree also Todd :thumbsup2 Seems 'faux' is "in" this year :scratchin ...guess we're 'out' of style :confused3

Oh, and our bedroom is the same color as your walls too :rotfl: (must be a poplular color, cuz i stole it off my neighbor across the street :rolleyes1 )

Thanks...I painted the dining room over the summer...finally got rid of the RED that was here when I bought the place.

That's my little tree...nothing special but it makes the house feel like home you know?

The grass is usually green except in the summer when turns a lovely shade of brown. :rolleyes1

I know it's "hip" and all, but i still don't get who would WANT to paint a ROOM red? :confused3 :scared: Looks much better (even tho I didn't see it 'red').....

Everyone needs a tree.... like Maxine says: What other time of the year do you eat candy from your socks in front of a dead tree in your living room? My Mom stopped doing the whole big tree thing years ago.... that's when I started taking over Christmas. Told her I refused to come to dinner if she didn't have a tree....she didn't budge, so now we stay home and she comes here :thumbsup2

....and let's not get started about the grass.... if it's brown in the summer, then you aren't cuttin' it..... like we all are :headache:

really, ryan looks like you.
he could never get lost in a crowd. one look at you and they could find him.

is that a good thing or bad thing to have mr bubba's personality and temperment?

You should see Ry and I's 1 year old pic...they look identical...like the same kid....honest. And he'd never get lost in a crowd....just haveta look for the long legs and long hair ;)

I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing....but, I love 'em both either way :goodvibes

oh, mr sandman came to my room around 4 this morning.

yikes :scared1: :scared: :scared1:

and did hit the post office around 4ish today.
to the homie that gets the box, sorry.....

i ran out of package tape and had to choose between the staple gun, electrical tape or duct tape to finish sealing the box.

i'll let you be surprised on which one i used.....

 :rotfl2: that is a shame!!! (What i wouldn't give to see a pic of THAT package :rolleyes1 )

(and whoever gets it, needs to share what she used with the rest of us!!!)

penny, cookies are our friend..........

::yes::

i have an

todd, invite all the homies to your place and we will have a painting party.
bubba's mom will bring the beer, penny the cookies, sharon the snow, tricia will bring the band/jumping naked boys, tracie will bring jelly beans, rose will bring the italian food, jodie the phone for ordering out, marcie has the bugle,
janet will bring mom, MF brings the team, wait better not as they are minors and jodie likes to tip a few as well as others inside this box, lori will bring the money, hey ......she's an okie thought there was oil there, jennifer will bail us out of jail if the party gets too wild, she's a cpa, she can do that can't she or is that a notary public thing.....kfish will bring the camera.........

i like that idea...

....and yeah....bring lobsters Sharon, not snow....going to Todd's to get away from the snow :headache:

6.gif

is tricia still at the bank?

she went this morning and hasn't returned yet.

maybe she did something bad there and is in jail now.
i told her not to take those pens that are chained down on the counters.

or maybe she is asleep.
yea like with 2 kids and being the vp of the company she runs.....

tricia, tell us. did carol smile when you read the two birthday greeting songs to her?

I was wondering the same thing....exactly how far IS that bank from where she lives? :confused3

It look two coats of Kilz to cover the red and then one coat of the color.

I want to keep the Earthy theme going so I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.

I vote for a shade of terra cotta ....my girlfriend did her family room this color, and it looks great :thumbsup2

A client of mine had her daughter off to college this year. She asked a co-worker who 'dabbles' in interior design what color she should take the pinky purple bedroom to. She said brown. :scared: Well, after much persuasion, she convinced my client to go w/ brown, and my client did. My client loved it. I forget the accent color, but she said she was/still is shocked how well it turned out....looks like an entirely different room!

Todd - Whatever you do, do not paint your bathroom this color.
bath.jpg

That's what I get for letting my daughter pick out the color. She hated the french blue that I had painted the kids bathroom a few years ago, so I said to her, if you want to repaint it, fine. I never thought she would....I swear it glows in the dark!

Aw c'mon Sharon....THAT blue is not that bad.....Nothing beats the bright NEON puke yellow going on in the spare bedroom when we moved in  Gave me a headache just being in that room! :headache:

That is a very "bathroomy" blue......very seashore-ish

oh snap!

i'm sure Lori is fine.... i wonder if the ice storm has anything to do with her inability to stay online? :scratchin

I'm sure she'll check in soon.... it's the busy time of the year.....

i agree....he has a good eye!!

Can you de-clutter my house too? :confused3

(i'll pay if you fly)

So....here I am, the only nightshifter..... :rolleyes1

I promised last nite I'd post more of our decorations.....

our hutch....and my Mom made the manger scene (at ceramics while I was doing our tree...years ago) and my Grandpop built the stable......
