Hi all,
Can't seem to catch-up here. My kids have a half-day of school today for afternoon teacher inservices. So I have to pick my kids up from the bus stop in a few minutes.
Matthew was supposed to do snow shoveling, a service project for cub scouts, for an elderly couple in our neighborhood(it was his turn next). But it didn't snow that much here, maybe 1/2 an inch. Glad we didn't have to do the snow shoveling today b/c it is much too cold here and DH is extremely busy at work right now, so he wouldn't be able to get off early for work, etc.
Thank you all for the congrats for Matthew's Pinewood derby car, etc!

Happy Birthday to Marcie and Penny!!!
:cake: :bday: :cake: :bday:

I hope to bbl if the kids let me be on the computer later

I've lost 19 lbs. but my birthday suit was still a little bigger than my TV suit so I looked like a fat guy in a little coat. My birthday suit is getting quite a few wrinkles, bumps and stains of unknown origin. A co-worker and friend had a stroke the other day. He is 4 years younger than I and doctor told him he has the brain of an 80 year old. I gave my buddy a bucket and told him he needs to make a pretty short list to go in it.

Why am I singing that song from Tommy Boy now? Hope your friend recovers fully from his stroke, but if you told him to make a "short" list, I'm gathering that he didn't fair so well? Congrats on 19 pounds though!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PENNY!

Tricia, are you cleaning?!

Lori, hope your kids get better.

Marcie, that is a great piano cake!

Guys are mean. He couldn't hold his pencil and has to use his left hand to squeeze the right one together and we said stuff like, "Hey, Dale, you're drooling!" and "Stop shuffling!" He'll probably live forever.

Yes, I have spent the whole morning cleaning. I've been in the basement. I thought, "You know, if MIL has to go downstairs to get something out of the freezer, she will have a coronary at the bottom of the steps when she sees the mess."

SO...

... there.

My back is killing me, but there is at least a clear path from the steps to the washer/dryer and freezer.

Now, I just have to do the big stuff upstairs. Which is what I thought I'd be doing today, but didn't happen. Sigh.

I WILL HUFF AND I WILL PUFF AND I WILL BLOW THE DOORS DOWN

as long as you don't use the bad foot to kick the door down, you will be fine.
be sure to let us know about the test results on it.

Good morning, frienditos and frienditas!

I am up early cause I drew the short stick, and have to drop Princess Peanut off at the vet this morning. Little Savvy is getting declawed today, and while I am absolutely heartbroken to do that to her, she is dangerous with those things, and has come too close to scratching our eyes more times than I care to count. She was playing with Mike last night, and her claw actually got stuck in his cheek, and I saw her pull out his cheek trying to get her claw out. Poor thing was not allowed to eat or drink past 9 pm last night, and she is one STARVIN MARVIN right now.

And, Raven, let me know when you book your hotel!

So, what's news and exciting today for everyone?

calling today. or tomorrow. i was told to call and ask for a specific person when i booked and they are out of the office right now.
i have to check my email to see the date of their return.

its a long story

looks like you are teaching us another foreign language also.
good. pretty soon we will all be bi.

poor savviieee. are you having all 4 done? i did with mine.
maybe big brother will be nice to her when she gets home today.

quick drive by hi, taking DH to eye dr for vision field test

hope all survived the storm/high winds last night that blew across from the midwest (marci & mac; no need to share;) )

i will no longer report on the weather i get here.
it is depressing.

J/K. I thought it was funny these were posted one right after the other. Doens't take much to amuse me. ;)

i laughed too when i saw that this morning

Took Mikey to different doctor this morning. Got a souped up sample of Advair to try to get asthma under control. He also gave him a real antibiotic, not that stupid zythromax that is the popular one to prescibe now. Hopefully he will be feeling better in a couple of days.

i hope you fired the first doc and this one is better for your family.

DD called and Madie has a severe case of strep. The rash is a strep rash. Never heard of such a thing but it is even worse today. :confused3 She has been loaded up with antiiotics too.

hope she gets better real soon too

Now we are just lounging around the house trying to get kids well.

Tricia - Good luck at Joshua's appointment. Are you getting that house cleaned?

be sure to let us know how it turns out.
take notes.

Hi Allison. Did you get that wind we got yesterday?

Have a terrific day everyone!

Oh that's mean. Sounds like something my dh would do.

Looks great!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL!

Mac - This doctor is much better. He is an older doctor, friends with my fil but he doesn't take new patients. They took Mikey several months ago when our old doctor stopped his practice & went to work for a hospital. Mikey was having real bad trouble with his asthma so they took him when I couldn't find anyone to get him in quickly. Wish I could get him to take Ally too. He probably would if I asked because of his friendship with fil but I hate to ask.

I used the other one because I had found him for Ally and really liked him the first time we went in. Guess I have to go back on a search for a new doc for her now.

I'm wishing you warm weather.

it must be the hokey pokey time.

no one is here.

hope all the birthday people have a blast tonight!

save cake for me

I'm sooo tired. I hauled and cleaned in the basement most of the day. Then we went grocery shopping. Another "had to be done" trip, as we were nearly out of milk.

I took Joshua for his bloodwork. No biggie. They'll call me in 2 days with the results.

I'm going to try to summons the energy to shower. I'm pretty sure I am not the freshest daisy in the bunch. However, that involves standing... and raising my arms over my head... so we'll see. Brad may have to deal with a stinky bedmate tonight. :rolleyes1

:bday: party: Happy birthday Penny and Marcie

twins, we have twins; i'm always the last to know anything; then i promptly forget it anyway.

penny, perhaps this uplifting ;) message will warm you up today

better late than never:banana:

marci - i must be psycho...i mean psychic:banana: re the piano cake

why am i surprised that your talented DS creates cakes that are works of art too:thumbsup2 :cheer2:

mac - hearing about ur (and marci's weather) makes me feel much warmer:goodvibes if it's any consolation

jodie - aww, hope the kitty's feeling better soon. Just think if you didn't she might start destroying stuff ala tinkerbell.

tricia - talk about a flip side; ur basement must be dry to have carpet down. We had to put in a raised subfloor in order to have it with ventilation, etc.

lori -never heard of strep rash either, hope she's feeling better soon

not sure how many disneyshopping buffs we have, if anyone needs the 15% off coupon code it's 3499 (for friends;) ) good thru 2/25/08

Hey gang!

Fletch - sorry I missed your wake-up call this morning. The winds knocked out our internet. Anyhoo, it was up and running when I got home.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARCI!!!

Hope you enjoy your day. Glad you got to sleep in a bit today, and that some of the activities were cancelled so you don't have to "run" all over town.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PENNY!!:cool1: :cool1:

Have a nice day. Since its your special day, I will give you the day off. But tomorrow, start heading for WV to clean out my closets!:)

Sure does seem like alot of you are having trouble with the "sickies" Hope you and your loved ones get better soon. We've been fortunate this winter.

DS had a good appt with the Skin Doc. She said he had a serious case and plain OTC stuff would not work. She also told him that his long hair on his forehead was making the problem worse. His reply, "Yeah, but I don't have hair on my cheeks, and I have pimples there too.";)

Catch you all later.

I forgot you mentioned the basement thing before.

I don't know how common basements are in the south, but they are very common in the Atlanta area. My parents house had a basement. My first house (with the ex in north metro Atl) had a basement. Now this one has one too way up here in the boonies. My sisters each had 2 houses in the Atlanta area over the years. Only one of those didn't have a basement. That one was in a newer subdivision. I don't know that they build the newer ones with them or not. :confused3

The carpet is just a very big remnant from our upstairs ugly stuff. It's spread out down there so the kids can play without being on the cold bare cement.
