i was threated by my former stylist...

not to cut my bangs or else:rolleyes1

barb educated me, now i just use fingernail scissors & the new girl can't tell...or else she's afraid to say anything:laughing:

no, no measles:wizard: isn't that covered via a vaccine?

jennifer - i let middle DS claim himself last year so he could get most of his taxes back. I was thinking of my mother who i list as a dependent, rightfully so. We used to trade off on claiming my MIL between my SIL year-to-year; until she had to enter the nursing home. SIL wouldn't ante up anymore, so we took it on (DH worked 2 full time jobs, i was still selling RE fulltime and took on a 2nd part-time one too). Can honestly say i was glad to do it to see her safe.

cruising thru channels the other day, as Nascar aint on yet,
i saw some show that features Paulas two sons.
they go on trips and find the best food in states.
as it happened to be, they did Maine yesterday.

Lobster Stew,
Whoopie Pies
and i forget what else.

oh yeah, stuffed strawberries.

That is interesting.... what is Pennsylvania famous for? Tastykakes and..... :confused3 (you'd never guess I've lived here almost all my life.... :headache: )

I know, I know....Funnel cake!

By the way, is a tastykake a donut? We don't have them in New England.

No Krispy Kreme in Maine either. Some of the sports teams sell Krispy Kremes as a fundraiser. The kids pre-sell them and than someone drives down to Boston, a 4 hour round trip ride, and brings them back to the school and they are handed out to the kids to deliver. It's a huge hit. People buy them by the dozens. :rotfl2:

I was watching the food channel show "Unwrapped" tonight. They featured a product made in Southern Georgia, called Popcrickle. Kinda like caramel corn but with a honey and vanilla glaze instead of caramel. They also use 3 kinds of nuts. :goodvibes

I just might have to order some for my son. He has his
18th :scared1: birthday coming up in April and he is a huge popcorn lover. Inherited that from me!

Hey yourself :wave2: ...and, no, I had a crappy day :sad2:

Maybe we could all move together in the same development? :scratchin .....would give new meaning to "There goes the neighborhood" :lmao:

(We could all be our own "Desperate Housewives" :rotfl2: )

Sorry you had a crappy day! Hope tomorrow is better.

I can see that neighborhood now! :scared1:

[COLOR="DarkOrchid" [SIZE="1"](she's doing it on purpose)

I think I missed something....why did Ally go home early today? :confused3 I hope Madie doesn't have measles....i heard they were making a comeback....but, still.... :sad2:

Yep, she's doin it on purpose!

Sorry, Ally's stomach was hurting her. She came home and laid down.

I hope she doesn't have the measles too.

I might have let him miss piano, but we skipped last week because of the weather and had to reschedule and I didn't want to do that to the teacher again. He's back home and in bed now so hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Thanks for listening on the whining about Royce and for the well-wishes!

I'll hope it's not measles! Has she had any vaccines lately? Eric had his chicken pox booster last summer and broke out in a rash all over his arms the next day. The doctors office insisted it couldn't have been from the shot?! :confused3 Or is she on any antibiotics? I've had that happen a couple times with my kids. They've taken one a bunch of time and all of a sudden end up with a reaction from it. Good luck!

:rotfl: Yeah, just like I would with my boss!

Well I understand about not wanting to do it to the teacher again. Hope he is all better tomorrow.

I'm telling you, give him a kick in the butt!

I don't think she has had any vacinations lately or on any anitbiotics but I can't say for sure. She is covered in a rash though, has a little fever, was throwing up yesterday?:confused3 Who knows?

Anyone else think raven didn't pick her son up at the airport and just hopped on a UO-bound plane instead :scratchin

:lmao:

Hope you had a good day Rave!

Yeah, where is she?

You are a good daughter and excellent example for your children regarding your MIL ;) And yes....remember....LITTLE scissors = LITTLE mistakes.... :thumbsup2

I don't cut my own hair, not even with "good scissors".

Seriously, I could never operate the curling iron. My style is mousse and air dry for 15 minutes, blow dry for 2 minutes, brush, spray and go.
Perhaps with my big tax rebate, I can hire you to be my full-time hair stylist. You know the kind that would come to my house and style it every morning.
:)

Regarding the "tax box". I really don't know as we use professional tax software in our office. I would imagine either "box" would be good for the basics - W-2, interest, dividends, itemized deductions. I would recommend anyone with a small business go to paid tax preparer to ensure you get all the deductions.

That's it for me tonight. Fletch and I will check in on you in the AM.

:) Jennifer

I'd have to be paid enuf to "live in" to do that :rolleyes1 :lmao: I always wondered if the boxes were the same.... not that I'd ever do it, but was curious. (Kinda like when I'm asked about shampoo bought in salon vs otc)

I know, I know....Funnel cake!

Okay....funnelcake it is  Tastykake :http://www.tastykake.com/ They are cakes, donuts, coffee cakes, etc.... yum.... And NO KK?? You are deprived up there.....no wonder New Englander's are skinny ;)

I don't think it will be income. Federal tax refunds are not income and federal tax payments are not deductions. I think the "rebate" will be subtracted from the refund you calculate (thereby giving you a smaller refund) or added to the payment you calculate (giving you a larger payment). I don't know if it will be a dollar for dollar offset. They may increase some of the exemptions, credits or lower the tax tables as they did the last time we did rebates.:sad2:

The thing about this "rebate" is nothing has been passed yet. And Bush goes out of office in '08. Who knows what the next Prez will do to taxes.

Okay, I think I've got it. We'll get the check, but our estimated taxes for the next year should reflect an assumption that we'll be paying a larger amount. Basically.

My head hurts. How do you wade through this day in and day out? WHY do you wade through this day in and day out? :rotfl:

I always liked the program Clean Sweep. I just can't find the time to completely empty out the room.

I love Clean Sweep. You'd think I would get inspired or something. Never happens.

Well that would be nice. The boys have tried to clean it out several times. Dh says it is our life. I am so glad to know that my life is a pile of junk boxed up in the garage.:headache:

 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Meanwhile DH is out of town and the forecasts are horrible for tomorrow. And I have to go to work early to have time to drive home during lunch and take other DS to the dentist. Yes, DH made the appointment to take him but then had to change his travel schedule in order to not miss the Packers' game. I'm really getting annoyed by his travel and moreso his planning. It's like "do we have anything Feb 7th" and I say, "yes, that's the planning meeting at the middle school?" then he schedules travel for then anyways.

Ummm... yeah. Why ask you about what is on the schedule if he is going to do his travel thing anyway?

Although, we had some real "fun" doing it a couple years ago. Going through all our cardboard boxes in our detached garage. I opened one and looked in it and thought "wow, that's a realistic looking stuffed animal", when it MOVED!!! It was this HUGE possum! I shrieked and went running out of the garage. And this thing just wouldn't get out of the garage. Got DH and it slithered out of the box, but even when he tried to hit it with a stick, it just stood and glared at us. Finally he revved up the snowblower (this was probably in May!) and chased it out. NOT a fun experience! After that we made the transition to storing everything in plastic bins instead!

OMG! I've got a mental picture of High Noon with the possum! Possum takes his stand, but he is no match for the Snowblower... :lmao: :lmao:

I had hoped to ketchup, but I'm too tired. Past my bedtime and not much sleep last night, so Goodnight.

Barb ... Thanks for the ticker info I will do it when I am not half asleep .

Lori .. MY DD b-day is May the 3rd . We will be roaming IOA/USF all day I am sure . If anyone is there Drinks sound good :thumbsup2 . Margaritaville anyone?

I know I missed more during my reading but a quick drive by is all I had time for today . I worked in Kindergarten today :scared1: . I am exhausted to say the least . After that I had to go to the supermarket and well then there was Homework here and dinner . Where is a lady to find some good computer time :surfweb: ? :jumping1: This is what the kids in my class were like today . So I am going to try to get some sleep now and I will see everyone in the morning if I am not working agin in the morning .

BTW no chance of sneaking away this weekend as my DH bought my DS tickets to monster jam for Saturday afternoon at 2 pm . So our nice romantic anniversary is now going to be spent watching monster trucks and eating popcorn popcorn:: At least we will go to a nice dinner this Friday .

I had a feeling that was it when you posted the other day. That is also my birthday. Although I will not be able to join you in Orlando please have a couple of margaritta's for me. Jodie & Mike did last year! Maybe one of these years I will actually be able to celebrate it there myself!

please please please

cross your fingers

I have an interview at 330 pm tomorrow.

possible job.

please keep me in the good thought pile, not the bad one.
(the one containing whoever murdered Stacy Peterson, OJ,
Charles Manson, suicide bombers, and anyone mean to animals and kids)

crossing everything i have, even my eyes for you penny.

how is the foot today? still in pain?

obviously, i'm a cranky cuss today...up 1/2 the night/slept off & on thru the day:headache: ; hope these pills work. DH called the dr; he's dragging me mid week if i don't make an improvement. think it's been 13 or so days.

you really need to see the doctor janet. your illness has carried on too long now. you are going to worry me into the grave.......you and gemma lying in that ditch dead drunk...

Penny, I would LOVE for you to come to Georgia. I would LOVE for you to come and visit me. However, I don't know if your Wicked Monkish heart could withstand a trip to my basement.

Here is a shot I just took of the stairs leading down.

Basement1.jpg

I'm afraid to post any pics from the actually basement floor. You may not survive the horror.

what's wrong with that picture? i see boxes. stuff in boxes and done up pretty neat too.

that's great compared to what you see in mine.

Paula Deen (the Butter Queen) :cool1:

No monsters... just more crap...

Basement5.jpg

:rotfl:

more boxes and shelves.
it looks great to me.
so if anyone comes to my house to check it out, bring your cameras for the thrill of a life time.
i have one son that destroys everything in his path and it is hard to keep up.
you all would feel so much better about yourselves once you saw my dump.

i just might post some pics of it someday.:rolleyes1

well it looks like Georgia, then to Okie, then to WV.

gonna be a good road trip

and north of chicago, you forgot the midwest and ahem, i am here.....so you need another road stop.

bring your camera.
you could not describe how my dump looks.

Okay, it's crazy around here but I'll try really quickly to catch up! I have a sick kid. Got up, took a shower, told me he was dying and his throat hurt and promptly went back to bed for 6 hours. I made him go to piano this evening, but he's dragging again. This is when I REALLY hate my job (have I ever mentioned that before?). Leaving a sick kid home asleep while I go do inane work really bothers me!

Right now he has travel planned for now (when he promised to take DS to the dentist), the 7th (when I told him about this meeting we were supposed to be at), and the 21st, which is one of only 2 days my kids have conferences and we have to squeeze in 24 teachrs into about exactly that many time slots! Why ask my opinion if you're not going to do anything about it? :confused3 And most of these could be done another time, but heaven forbid he miss the Packers' game or the Super Bowl (which the Packers obviously aren't even in!).

I already called DS in sick for soccer tomorrow because there's no way I can drive 20 minutes home from work (and that's if the dire storm doesn't hit), then drive him 20 minutes back to soccer, meanwhile pick DH up at the airport, pick 2 other kids up from jazz band and play practice (in the opposite direction), drive back to soccer and get him to church a half hour later. Not doing all the driving with 4 plus inches of snow, freezing rain, and 50mph winds forecast! :scared1:

Got you beat! Not only do I have boxes of maternity clothes, I have boxes labeled "MARCIE'S MATERNITY CLOTHES"! This is important so that I don't get them confused with my husband's maternity clothes, or all the ones my boys have stored away! :rotfl:

I know they've been friends at least since elementary school, but don't know how much longer. It's really weird having moved with the kids starting high school. We'd lived in our last city/house for over 12 years - so when we moved in my oldest were 1 and 2. So everyone we knew, we'd known since their kids were the same age. So seeing them in middle school, especially as some of them got in the "I'm so cool" stage - you know, the belly button rings, and slut look was just so funny because I could picture the same girl crying at bible school because she missed her mommy at 4.

Here, moving in now, I only see the girls as teens. I don't have a picture of them at 2 or 3 or 4. In some ways it's easier, but in some ways I feel like I've missed a lot of the background in knowing whether these are good kids or not!

Yeah, but don't you have fun pulling out boxes you haven't in years and going through them? It's not usually stuff you "need", but stuff that brings you back in time.

Finally he revved up the snowblower (this was probably in May!) and chased it out. NOT a fun experience! After that we made the transition to storing everything in plastic bins instead!

Okay, off to get a sickie into bed! Catch you all later! Sorry I couldn't do a better job catching up!

just want to say two things.
are we going to be planning a baby shower for you since you still have the clothes?

and,
are you nuts.........by 4 pm tomorrow, it will be white out conditions here with over 50mph winds. you will get it also.......

it would be too dangerous for you to be on the roads late tomorrow.

don't even try to go out in it!

how is your dad doing? you haven't given us many updates lately.

Thought I would stop by say Hi and good night at you all:upsidedow

Jennifer, thanks for the info. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it to a schmo like me who should probably use something better than Turbo Tax. :goodvibes

Janet, glad you are eating. Feed a cold, starve a fever, eat rice with pneumonia?

Penny, I would be totally afraid for you to come to my house. I can barely keep up with myself, much less a husband and 2 black cats where 90% of my carpeting is beige. We rent a dumpster every other year just to get rid of crap. I had my own crap. Then Mike sold his house and brought his crap here. We're terrible.

Oh, and do we have any psychics in here? Can someone tell me when my dang dentist is going to be in? I have been trying for days to get a hold of her to straighten some things out. Anyone else have a dentist who doesn't have a hygienist? My dentist does all the teeth cleanings. Odd.

hello jodie......i think the doc lost your book and is avoiding you.

Woo Hoo!!!!

Ally called from school today. She was the 4th one to go home early in her building. Think I would have let him miss the piano practice. Sounds like he feels pretty bad.

Now Royce sounds like he needs a swift kick in the butt. Either you need to not work and be able to take care of things or he needs to listen and not schedule trips out of town when there is something else going on that you need help with.

Good luck tomorrow.

I have never heard of a dentist that didn't have any help. Have you gone by the office? Maybe she is avoiding you because she owes you money.

Well Madie is here tonight and has a very bad rash all over her stomach. It looks like the measles to me. :headache:

oh my........measles.
i have never had a child hood disease yet.
i stay away when someone has them.

the dentist is avoiding jodie cause she , the dentist, borrowed her book when she went on the trip.

the dentist probably read that book when she was on the can.
and then might have lost the book somewhere n orlando...

Anyone else think raven didn't pick her son up at the airport and just hopped on a UO-bound plane instead :scratchin

:lmao:

Hope you had a good day Rave!

no not a good day yet.
got home.....and i'll tell it later.

Just a quick drive by...heading to bed. Have a good night!

i can't understand why you keep going to that bed.........you should stay here and play with us!

I had hoped to ketchup, but I'm too tired. Past my bedtime and not much sleep last night, so Goodnight.

sweet sleep

i refuse kindergarten classes. long story.
i had it better, high school seniors english class.
you know at that age, they know it all.

Thought I would stop by say Hi and good night at you all:upsidedow

hi st lawrence.

why is it all you homies scatter when i come on line..

is it my breath?

ok, long day for me.
went to bed at 3 this morning.
up at 5 and at curves.

home, ready for work and there at 7 today.
only did 2 referrals on kids so it was a great day that way...

home at 3.
went to get gas in car, food for one son and then back home.
then to grocery store in between checking son's flight status.

left at 4:45, no traffic so to speak, at ohare at 5:52.
had to drive around the airport 5 times until son calls me. did the sneak about 5 minute curb side stay until the cops came.

son's plane delayed from ca due to the winds in chgo. couldn't get clearance to land....

off plane and in car around 6:35.

drove into city and had middle eastern food.

drove home and feed the cats again.

then to the grocery store as no other adult here knows how to drive to the grocery store. if they had to go inside it and look for milk, bread and juice it would take them an hour........

then home, then back out to taco bell for one son.
then back home.
9:45 and finally done with the day.

now computer time to play until everyone here goes to bed.

and at 5 tomorrow, start over again.

look at the bright side, only 4 more work days this week.
woo hoo........

hi st lawrence.

Well it looks like the beginnings of the rash but it probably isn't. I know she has had her immunizations. Poor thing gets a lot of crap though from being around her jerk dad'd family. Spent the weekend with them and surprise! She is sick.

I bet that dentist likes the book so much she doesn't want to return it. That is why she is avoiding Jodie.

If the kids already know everything doesn't that mean you don't have to teach?:rotfl:

i'll be back later in case lori stays up for the card game.

Well I am back on but I really need to make the kids turn out the lights and try to sleep. You need to sleep too. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Hi DM. It is almost time! Did I miss something? Did you move?

Todd you really do need to stop by more and yak with us. Hope everything is well in your world.

By the way, did you guys see my question about Aquatica?
