Mornin'!
I had to wear a suit today :scared1: so I can be on TV.:happytv:

Nah...wouldn't say friends....just a 'welcome'. Isn't how I assume it's a "he" and you assume it's a "she"? ...... and, I know you can't stay mad at me :flower3:

What do you bet we'll never see her/him again? It's got to be a female because she said someone's baby was cute.:lovestruc

How could anyone be mad at BM?

:) Good Mornin' Everyone!

Tuesday = Day 2 of work week.

Lounging a little longer this morning, as I am taking DS to dermatologist for 7:30am appt. WOO HOO for docs that have early AM appts so I don't have to split up my days. Being the lovely 12-13 year old boy, he is getting pretty bad acne. We used OTC stuff but didn't fix that great. (Of course, he only does a half-a$$ job). But everyone was telling me, take him to the dr. So here we go.

We have been fighting the acne since last year. This summer it got worse (because he wanted the long hair on his forehead) and we never recovered. I think now he is old enough to actually follow through with the DR.'s plan.:)

So, after Doc, I get to take him to school. Last night, he said if we don't make it to school by lunchtime, can he just stay home?:confused3 Let's see we have an appt at 7:30 and have a 15-minute drive from Doc to school. Good grief, not even a traffic tieup will cause to not get to school before noon.

By the way, did I mention he isn't fond of school. His happy days are snow delays and snow days. And snow delays aren't that great, because then he pouts because they didn't call it off completely.:confused3

So, anyhoo, due to above, I can't do my normal "audit" day. So, I am visiting another client that is a shorter drive, (and easier work). Hope to make it home earlier than usual tonight.

Have a great day.:)

P.S. Barb, where are you - I guess I will have to do my 5-minute hair routine myself this morning.

-Jennifer

Quick reply because I have to go to work early to get DS15 to the dentist at lunch time. I'm hoping the weather's not bad by then (they're saying 2pm for start of the warning). He's the lovely child who had 10 cavities on his last visit, so I'd rather not miss this appointment. Especially since it will be Christmas until I can get him in again!

Dad’s doing a lot better. Actually he’s doing really well. They took him off all his diabetes medicines because of all the concerns with the kidneys and apparently he feels SO much better off of them. So now since he lost some weight in the hospital, he’s determined to keep it off and lose some more which will help get the diabetes under control and maybe he won’t need the meds (or at least as much of them). I guess he was having a lot of side effects (nausea, running to the bathroom all the time, lack of appetite, etc.) that he didn’t even really fully realize were from the meds until he was off of them. Hopefully this will help him overall! But it sounds like he's on the go a lot now and feeling great. Talked to mom yesterday and they're planning a cruise for next month now! :cool1:

I'm hoping for a snow day or at least a late start tomorrow! Can you tell I like to sleep in! Not sure what will happen though because DS12 has a field trip all day. Don't know if it's a late start if they'd cancel it, delay it, or what! Guess I'll email the teacher today just in case!

Off to my very hectic day!

morning all!

is it me, or does anyone else get sorta green when they open the thread in the am & see pages of new posts...eeee lol

barb u know the kiddo's growing up when he hits double digits.

speaking of growing up, middle DS & his bud want to take a solo vacation (mini-version 4 or 5 nights); they've only traveled to Ocean City, MD; on a whim over 4th of July and got slammed with rack rates:eek: . I'm delegated the task of finding somewhere to go. They were thinking Nassau:upsidedow ; i'm steering them to Cancun (dirt cheap all-inclusives) or Vegas.

question - will a 21 & 22 year old get in trouble in either place:rotfl: (i can just hear the phone call home...i've found my future wife).

anyway, anyone have any advice on cancun?

:lmao: monster trucks, now that is romantic (it's the thought that counts!)

i found out that i am working a benefit spaghetti dinner for the BB team on the day we were planning on our anniversary dinner out (2/14):headache: . I'm thinking of arriving around 2:00 ish, plop down my dessert, help set up, watch DS serve some guests & i'm outta there by 4:30 pm!

mac - dr said to take benydryl nonstop along with antibiotic, feeling much better (other than the dopey feeling - ha, how would i tell the difference!).

When watching the news coming from London, i tend to look for our gemma in the crowd - haven't found her yet though...my version of Where's Waldo

lori - i used to hate kids going to ex's house when they were young. Always sent them dressed nicely. They come back in clothes that goodwill would reject and reeking of smoke & fried onions:mad: . Usually, missing the last evening meal they should've eaten too.

marci - be safe driving w/ds to dentist; it's looks scary out your way...they tell us the front will come thru later today (to avoid driving overnight). we had black ice yesteday that i discovered when i went to pick up the youngest from BB - that sliding feeilng is disturbing. the suv is not AWD, something called traction control instead that comes on automatically. I do so hate the feeling of the steering being overtaken by the car.

jennifer - good luck for DS, we have been spared that ordeal. Do know my one nephew really had issues, they finally put him on antibiotics of all things & it cleared everything up. Do know SIL said it was a long process of exhausting different treatements. One was a drug (cannot remember the name) that was later linked to depression, etc....just cannot win sometimes.

guess i need to do all my running before the storm hits

big BB game this afternoon; i may just walk up the skool.

MF - what color tie? i'm into ties

Black, silver, blue Calvin Klein. My boss is wearing a tie with a turkey on it.

Morning everyone.....nightshift punchin' in....or is that out?? :confused3

Evening folks!!!

Just quickly checking in this evening.....

Let the countdowns begin....

3 swim meets left
7 swim practices left
14 teaching days til vacation
?? days til jury duty

And we are off!

Does this mean you'll stay for more card games after the next couple weeks?

you all would feel so much better about yourselves once you saw my dump.

i just might post some pics of it someday.:rolleyes1

yeah right.... I ain't holdin' my breath any longer.....

Thought I would stop by say Hi and good night at you all:upsidedow

why is it all you homies scatter when i come on line..

is it my breath?

ok, long day for me.
went to bed at 3 this morning.
up at 5 and at curves.

home, ready for work and there at 7 today.
only did 2 referrals on kids so it was a great day that way...

home at 3.
went to get gas in car, food for one son and then back home.
then to grocery store in between checking son's flight status.

left at 4:45, no traffic so to speak, at ohare at 5:52.
had to drive around the airport 5 times until son calls me. did the sneak about 5 minute curb side stay until the cops came.

son's plane delayed from ca due to the winds in chgo. couldn't get clearance to land....

off plane and in car around 6:35.

drove into city and had middle eastern food.

drove home and feed the cats again.

then to the grocery store as no other adult here knows how to drive to the grocery store. if they had to go inside it and look for milk, bread and juice it would take them an hour........

then home, then back out to taco bell for one son.
then back home.
9:45 and finally done with the day.

now computer time to play until everyone here goes to bed.

and at 5 tomorrow, start over again.

look at the bright side, only 4 more work days this week.
woo hoo........

When you're late for work, the nightshift has to start working....you miss 'socializing time' :confused3

Then again, with THAT day, I think you'll be excused :teeth:

Dontcha love the "dodge the rent a cops" game at the airport?
Did son have a good trip?

Ninja style flyby to say hi hi and that the Move went mostly okay.

Sleep summons.

Glad everything went well...altho, since you never talk about stuff like that, we really didn't know what was happening? You moved now and again in Aug? :confused3 You musta moved out of your apt. and in with someone else :scratchin ....altho, not a place I'd choose to live....but, sure you have good reasons....

How could anyone be mad at BM?

please post a picture of you in that suit! :teeth: (need evidence) What are you going to be on tv for?? Make sure to link us to the 'online' broadcast ;)

I doubt loewsemployee will be back....matter of fact, I'm pretty sure..... oh, and i hadn't noticed the "cute baby" comment.... :confused3

:) Good Mornin' Everyone!

Tuesday = Day 2 of work week.

So, after Doc, I get to take him to school. Last night, he said if we don't make it to school by lunchtime, can he just stay home?:confused3 Let's see we have an appt at 7:30 and have a 15-minute drive from Doc to school. Good grief, not even a traffic tieup will cause to not get to school before noon.

oh well....poor kid tried! I hope everything goes well for him....that is a tough thing to deal with :headache: gotta love those hormones ...... :headache: :headache:

I guess he's reached "that" age where they start to feel that way.....like the socialization, but hate the work...guess cuz there's no recess and tougher tests.

Glad to hear our 'star' is doing/feeling much better.... Amazing the drugs you take to make you feel better, make you feel worse :confused3 I wish him a lot of luck with keeping his weight down, healthier eating and staying fit ;)

never been to either, but if they are "mature" for their age, I dont' see why it would be problem? But, if they are just going to get drunk and party and be irresponsible, then, maybe not a good idea...

Where's Gemma? :rotfl: Maybe she dumped BK and hooked up with Waldo? :confused3

I'm not sure, but your comment of "i'm into ties" frightens me.... why exactly are you into ties? :rolleyes1

hey Janet.... our airfare going DOWN to Fla. is now at $128....glad I snagged that $99 ;)

Coming home last flight on Saturday is still $99 tho....but, i played with the dates, and i think it's so low cuz we are staying 3 Saturdays.....if I change it to a week stay, price goes up about $50pp/ow

Morning homies

Fletch - what are you all on tv fer??? a boss and a turkey tie :scratchin ....hmmmm - I smell a joke in there somewhere....jim would wear his hot sauce/chili pepper one we got in NOLA during our honeymoon - he wears that thing yet has a RACK full of nice ties :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

janet - cannot believe you still are sick - we have had several versions of the sickies here, seem to last for about 3-4 weeks :scared1: Fbean is on amoxicillin for an ear infection, Daddybean is all congested/coughing, I was getting better, but its coming back again (thanks to Daddybean) and when :scared1: I cough it tastes like metal - yup, time to go to the doc :sad2:

tricia - your basement isn't too scary.....need more shelving (me too). You all would be very, very afraid of my basement (Mt. Laundry is a very scary area!!)

mac - sorry your had a bad day....hope you and marcie get thru the predicted storm ok.....

barb - you really worked your fingers off on the night shift yesterday :thumbsup2 WTG!!! (I have seen those bumper stickers all over the place around here - I know, no more "P" word talk)

lori - let us know how your sicklets make out!!! measels can be a scary thought......I was under the impression that vaccines were supposed to PREVENT these things, silly me!!

allison - just wanted to be sure to say "Hey"!!!

catch you all in a bit.....time to dump a load of laundry in the washer

Okay, so the opened and scattered contents of the boxes didn't convince you that my basement is bad. Well, here:

Basement4.jpg

So there. :p

There is no way I will ketchup today. I am in a blah mood. Daniel has been possessed by some demon-child for the past 2 days and I am about ready to ship him off to Timbuktu. It is all I can do to keep up with him.

I have a headache. A nasty one. You can remove the Pre from my PMS condition. I've been trying to get everything ready for the CPA and I always feel like I am giving her way too much stuff or not enough of the right stuff. I hate having to provide things for someone when I don't really know what they do with it. Not that I want to know. I don't even want to be the bookkeeper. I was just capable and significantly cheaper (read "free" if necessary) than hiring someone else to do it.

I'll stop whining. I've got to go to the doctor's office tomorrow for Joshua's next round of bloodwork. Whee. They are supposed to have copies of all the stuff I need to take to the Pediatric Neurologist ready. Fingers crossed.

I want to eat a pound of fudge and crawl into a blanket and hide for at least 2 days.

Okay, so I didn't stop whining. ;)

hi tracie - sorry to hear your beans are illin:wizard: i've never had a cold/flu hang around so long:confused3 think it's finally going away

barb - i've been called obsessive:rolleyes1 by DH, have quit checking flights daily;) (actually, i sneaks & do it when nobody's watching me lol).

Don't you feel thrifty now?:thumbsup2 ps our flight back from LAX went up to $455 per person one way:scared1: i paid $139 - complaining all the while. What insane clown would pay that for a connecting flight thru ATL :upsidedow

i do think travel providers (airlines/car rentals) just tend to test the waters & see who bites, then lower them with a "big sale":confused3

ds is very resposible for 21 (comes with being a policeman - ma'am-just the facts - ha). He is expected to adhere to professional standanrds even when off duty, cramps his style a bit. Wouldn't do to have the locals see you drinking even 1 then hopping behind the wheel; he now does his karoake sober...def a sobering thought. I have never gotten up the nerve to do it.

Perhaps it's because my 2 DSs are older (and legal drinking age); i expect them to want to cut loose a bit on vacation (still sounds good to mepopcorn:: ). Always suggest that they do "all inclusives" & plant their behinds @ the resort area. although i'm not too sure about vegas & the whole what happens in vegas stays in vegas...trouble has a way of following you home.

Marcie, I would've been freaked OUT had your possum story happened to me! Yea gads!

jodie - did the snaggle tooth;) every get fixed properly? more importantly, how did the roots (hair) go:lmao: . over 2 months for me, look like a skunk.

told my dentist (who did his own cleanings since he was cheap & didn't want to pay a hygentist:rolleyes1 ) that he was just to rough & i was going to have to go elsewhere for a cleaning...my gums would bleed owie

he finally hired one 2 days a week...she has knocked off 2 of my caps so far flossing during the cleaning:headache:

at least the dentist paid for the deductible, one had to be replaced.:confused3

marci - i'm slow, just caught the possum story:eek:

OK, I need to stop posting about the most MUNDANE things in my life. You'll often find me posting when I'm annoyed about something, or I don't know why I think you JUST HAVE TO KNOW when I'm getting my roots done or my teeth fixed! :bored:

My tooth is fixed now and my roots are good though. :goodvibes

Which of those 'box' ones are better? Turbo Tax or Tax Cut? (or whatever the other is?) I have to ask, cuz people are always askin' ME stuff about hair :rolleyes1 (fyi, we don't do our own taxes....let's just say ours are complicated and my Uncle [who's a CPA] does ours :goodvibes )

One time we paid someone to do our taxes because Mike lived in PA and I lived in NJ and then we got married and decided to live in NJ, and I didn't feel like filling out 3 returns. Now we use Turbo Tax because we have accounts with Fidelity and they give us 50% off!

Sorry, Ally's stomach was hurting her. She came home and laid down.

I hope she doesn't have the measles too.

Well, goodness, I hope Miss Ally doesn't have measles too! Poor thing!

I had a feeling that was it when you posted the other day. That is also my birthday. Although I will not be able to join you in Orlando please have a couple of margaritta's for me. Jodie & Mike did last year! Maybe one of these years I will actually be able to celebrate it there myself!

Oh, if I remember correctly, we had more than just a couple of margaritas for you! Your birthday is the first day of our Disney Cruise this year, so I have a feeling we'll be drinking your share again this year as well! :thumbsup2

hello jodie......i think the doc lost your book and is avoiding you.

the dentist is avoiding jodie cause she , the dentist, borrowed her book when she went on the trip.

the dentist probably read that book when she was on the can.
and then might have lost the book somewhere n orlando...

Thank you for that. I will be telling her to keep the book now!

Mornin'!
I had to wear a suit today :scared1: so I can be on TV.:happytv:

Hey, watcha gonna be on TV for? And how is your weight loss comp going? Are you wasting away to nothing?!

morning all!

I can assure you, it's not just you!

Here's my advice: don't drink the water and take bail money. :lmao:

jodie - congrats on the clean fridge :woohoo: I don't suppose you would want to meander over this way and do ours???:rolleyes1 Things look pretty good for going the same time as you and the others:thumbsup2 (e-filed our taxes yesterday and now the stepped up planning begins :dance3: )

Cleaning our fridge was a 2 person job. I'm sure I could convince Mike to join me if you have a case of cold Coors Lite for him waiting! Excellent! Let me know if your plans don't pan out for any reason, or else I'll be wandering aimlessly looking for the Bean Family!

Email notifications went away AGAIN! :headache:

Janet - I have been to Cancun. In fact, Daniel is our bonus souvenir from our trip to Cancun. You have to be careful with the cheap all-inclusives there. Some are trashy... and trashy in Mexico is a whole new level of trashy. There are some nice, but cheap places. If you really want some good opinions/advice, there is a message board that I spent a lot of time on before our trip: http://www.cancunmx.com/vacation/config.cgi

There is a regular poster there with the screenname janie. I met her and her husband while we were there. She lives for her twice a year Cancun trips and loves to tell you everything you want to know. However, in the past couple of years, they've been heading more toward Playa than the party zone of Cancun.

If you stay at an AI, there will be "party bus" tours of the big clubs. You get a wristband and shuttled from one hot spot to the next. Worth it if you want a taste of everything without having to negotiate the cabs and fares (and ripoffs).

Above all, remember that this is MEXICO. A different culture, with different social rules and different laws. There were several posts on the message board I mentioned about someone who wound up in jail for peeing in an alley. When it is illegal in Mexico, it is illegal and they can/will haul your @ss off to jail. Oh, and there is definitely a "what happens in Cancun, stays in Cancun" type mindset there among most of the vacationers. You won't escape that by sending them there.

Vegas is Vegas. It is a unique spot. I've been several times and LOVED it. Of course, I was there with Brad and not participating in all the wild stuff that Vegas has to offer. You'll still have the "what happens here, stays here" type thing.

They are both fun, but both areas wind up with a lot of people that get out of hand.

I know. That didn't help, did it?

Glad everything went well...altho, since you never talk about stuff like that, we really didn't know what was happening? You moved now and again in Aug? :confused3 You musta moved out of your apt. and in with someone else :scratchin ....altho, not a place I'd choose to live....but, sure you have good reasons....
I moved in with my dad & stepmom. No more $1250/month rent! :woohoo: Having roommates that rarely paid helped my Choice.:rolleyes1

DM - never heard of Deltona - still in FLA? Hope there are no scum bumbs to jack your stuff:wizard:
Deltona is a growing city. It's still on I4, just over the St. John's River. It's an hour drive to work, but I'm only there for a few more days. :upsidedow

:scared1: Macraven HS ahhh that is the worst . But at least at that age if they really don't want to be there they usually just leave and go home.

Barb. :thanks: for the countdown info . I love it . :thumbsup2

No work today but I woke up to a huge pain in my mouth . Guess the impacted wisdom tooth has arrisen from its dormint stage and now I am in pain. It has broken through the gums and is going to have to come out I am sure . I am so :scared: chicken little to do this again as I have had two out already . The dentist is in at 12 I have to wait till then to see when she will see me and what to do .

Yeah Monster Trucks for our anniversary That shows the love  . I am not so annoyed it is the only time they are in our area and well my son really did well in the science fair so I had to say yes . We are going for a romantic dinner Friday night and maybe a movie popcorn:: . I am happy with that . :thumbsup2

Going to Costco for the usual two hundred dollar more then you can ever need shopping trip. BTW anyone ever really think they would need 5 pounds of butter :confused3 or huge tubs of anything in there ?? BUt yet I am hooked on shopping there. It also makes me wonder the same kirkland brand has tires, baby wipes and chicken. Is it not a little strange  Anyone else ever wonder about this stuff ???:confused3

Ok going now :drive: .... I'LL BE BACK
