Warning: Name Drop ahead .... Did you know that my brother is good friends with John Denver's daughter, Anna Kate? She got "ordained" to perform their wedding ceremony. She doesn't speak of her dad, and we were not allowed to mention him at the wedding.

She was from the first marriage, right?

I thought he and the first wife had made up and were friends again before his death.

I just remember the documentary that PBS ran the year after his death. There was a good bit of it that was John with his two older kids Anna Kate and Zachary traveling and camping along the Colorado River while he reminisced and told them about how he got started writing music and how things were with their mother when they first got together, etc. They seemed comfortable and happy together. Doesn't mean things were all okay, however, just that it looked... nice.

the boys lost their hockey game last night. It was a night of James getting pummeled with shots in net. He had almost 90 shots and the goalie from the other team only had 20. We were definately the weaker team last night. James only let in 5 goals thou. He was not a happpy camper. I think our defensemen were asleep on the job.

I'm heading out for lunch with DD, my mom and my sister. We are surprising my sister's daughter (17) at her new job hosting at a pizza place. I think she is going to die of embarrassment.

We don't have snow *yet*... but they are predicting it to start here in an hour or so and last ALL DAY! I don't remember the last time it snowed here for more than a few hours... and almost never during the day. We usually don't get temps cold enough for snow during the day, we just get the overnight stuff. I can't wait to sit and watch it snow!

HMMMMMMMM...... I predict a snow shovel in your hands sometime this weekend!

Holy crap that's a lot of shots!!!! Even the NHL is lucky to get HALF those in a game!!! Considering how many shots he faced, and only let in 5, I think he did pretty darn good!!!

But....from a "goalie Mom's" point of view....I see the point... He was taking all the shots and working his butt off, and the other teammates were on a coffee break Well, James can't be expected to do it ALL himself...his buds have got to put the puck in the net....ya can't win if ya don't score!

mac never saw all the fuss about the dis refillable mugs...they hold 8 oz tops; waste of time imo since they're not good in the parks

we now have 3 or 4 different refillable mugs, still unsure as to which (if not all) are lifers? thought i read somewhere that only the ones with an attraction pic on them are good - forever goofy kid had to pick up one of those green alien ones in MIB. When u hand it to a TM they practically seethe @ you don't fit under the drink spouts & they have to hand-fill them from another cup.

this is the low down on the refillable mugs at universal.
any mug you buy there is valid for a life time.
when you use a previous purchased mug, you give it to the tm and they will refill it.
you pay the REFILL price which is less than the regular price. it is listed on the menu/price board. if you don't see it, you can still get it.

if you have the UO AP or AAA card with you, show it and you get a discount on that refill charge.
i used my AP card and only was charged $1.22 on the refill.

i have the dueling dragons ice mug with a handle. it came out when the ride went up. the counter person replaced my blue plastic straw for me last visit as the one i had in it had a hole. he, the tm, told me as long as the mug will hold the soda, it is good for refill purposes.

even guest services will tell you all the mugs sold at universal are valid for the refillable price if you use them.

you can use a mug you bought in 1997 and it is valid at UO.
believe me, i use mine on certain days.

buy the mug with a handle and you can use a mug strap to attach it slung over your shoulder. or loop the handle through a belt so you have your hands free in the park.

i only take my mug to the park if i am doing shopping, browsing, or will be on rides where i do not need to use a locker.
out of 5 days on a trip, i probably use it 2 days.

refills are not free but at a very reduced charge.
more of a discount if you show the AP or AAA card or UO MC.

We have some of those too. From the year All Star opened. That was the BIG selling point at the time. Free refills for life, anytime you returned to the resort. Then people actually DID IT. Oooops! They didn't think people would actually save the mugs and remember to bring them back! Yanked that promo in a hurry...

well, i bought 2 of the refillable mugs at the all star sports and one at pop when they opened.
yea, that lifetime usage was given to all that bought into it.
i had the cm put it in writing when i bought the mugs at sports.
mine is valid until i lose it....
got the pops mug on opening day.
might sell that baby on ebay someday.

We'll see how the temps go tomorrow! I actually saw 7 today, but it's supposed to be colder tomorrow! I'll try to catch up when I get back! Hold down the fort without me!

marcie, we love the UP. mr mac and i did a 8 day/night backpacking trip through iron mountain one year. that year set a record for the highest temps ever. its a beautiful place to tent camp and trail through.

right now it is minus 2 here and through in the wind chill it is at minus 20.
you aren't missing anything by being home this weekend.
you will have more fun at the UP.

btw, did you put an ankle monitor on son so he can't slip away w/gf?

Hey ladies . I was just wondering i have a universal refillable cup I wonder if I should pack it? I am pretty sure it is from 2006 .I guess it can't hurt to pack it and see if it works . I am going to try to find it in the morning and see how old it is and what it looks like. you think I would remember it .

yes, you can use it for the refill system they have there.
at any time if a tm says he can't accept it, have him get a supervisor over and call guest services.

i have been taking my mug with me for many many years.
i think the best mugs are the ones that have the plastic lid and straw inserted in it and has a handle.
those work best for me and my needs.

Yep and still holding out for some serious mummy dust that will help us to at least get three of the days onsite but if not like I said atleast we will be there.

if you stay onsite for one night, you also get to use the hotel key for FOTL on your check out day. weekends are the busiest so stay on a saturday night and get FOTL for all of saturday and sunday. only problem with weekends are the hike in room charge. higher room costs on friday and saturdays at the on site hotels. (also for off site)

when i use sunray for transportation from mco to hotel, it only takes me about 16 minutes to reach hrh from mco.

i use the free grocery stop and get things for my room to snack on.
never again will i wander city walk at 2:30 in the morning hours looking for food.

Trying to catch up. Between work and computer problems, haven't got to read everything yet.

Comments re Dollywood. My inlaws discovered Pigeon Forge and Dollywood several years ago and this has been a staple in their vacation plans. This is one of DH's favorite place to visit. He always wants to go back. (I think partially because it is only a 6-hour drive.) DH likes to rent a cabin and look at the mountains. He thinks it is pretty and peaceful. DH has lived in WV his whole life and we see mountains everyday.!

Comments re Sleep Apnea. Mac - what type of surgery did you have. I also did the sleep lab test and have been diagnosed with SA. They never mentioned surgery as an option for me. I just got my sexy mask to sleep in everynight. MotherFletcher, although it ain't pretty, the mask does work. And I tote my mask/machine for overnighters. Before the mask, I had morning headaches and was so sleepy during the day.

Will post now, before I lose anything, and get back to catching up.

my uvula was removed completely.

after my swelling went away and the soarness, i was good.
but, sleep apnea came back some years after the surgery.

i regret having that surgery.
