Well...the good news is: I don't have to leave the house all day :yay:

The bad new is: today is 'undecorate' day....putting all the Christmas stuff away and putting the tree in the field outback :guilty: I always miss having it around the first few days....hate to pack away those 'favorite' ornaments and holiday things :sad2:

Oh well..at least I'll be able to keep ketchuped today

Have a good
1.gif
everyone!!!

Can’t believe you are just now taking down the tree. Guess you had to make up for how early I had to take mine down. It felt good to have everything packed away & clean so early even if I did miss seeing it.

Janet is ignoring your smiley isn’t she!

Marcie - I don't think the videos were bad, at least it didn't take forever to load. I have tried to view others and just gave up!

How long have you been on the computer. Hopefully DH will get tied up in a football game so you can back later.

Good morning all!

Haven't been here in a few days, sorry :guilty:
Last page I remembered posting on was page 666. I'm having a hard time catching up and reading all these pages.
I'll do what I can.

ky07- St. Laurence, sorry about your DW's grandmother passing. Hoping your DW and family can find comfort :grouphug:

Penny- Sorry to hear about your dnephew's passing. Comfort for you and nephew's family, too

Tricia- welcome back from the wedding! I thought you would be back today sometime from the drive. I thought the wedding was yesterday, was it on Friday i guess? The pics of the boys are nice :thumbsup2
Are there Italians in your family(at the wedding)? I didn't know that. Was there supposed to be some kind of fighting/argument?

Jodie- Welcome back, wherever you went(Oh yeah, Maine). I see you got a new kitten, very cute kitty :cutie:

Barb- enjoyed your banana smilies :upsidedow

I can't remember anything else,sorry I haven't responded back to everyone.

Enjoyed everyone's pics I've seen so far.

Welcome to any new homies here :)

Let's see...been having some quality time with my kids the last few days while DH was at work. I tried to get my kids out in the snow this past Friday, they didn't want to go out in the snow  So I baked a cake instead. It was really freezing here mid-week this past week(0 degrees windchill), so the kids and I hibernated alot in the house. Now it's 50 degrees here today  Went to church last night, got all your backs :)
My kids go back to school tomorrow :yay: I don't look forward to pushing the homework again, but it's got to be done
Chrissy is NOT looking forward to going back to school
Matthew is looking forward to school :)
We just took our tree down today :sad1: . I really liked it up, it was so pretty!

My dad had his 1 week of chemo done so far. It finished this past Friday. He is still weak. I think he is still depressed about all this. He is trying to recover from some kind of gland infection that he has. He needs to have follow- up bloodwork in a couple of weeks, etc.

Edited to add: Thanks to a few of you that "bugged " me. I haven't had a chance to put it up on my siggie yet.

Happy birthday to Jodie's DH, Mike :bday: :cake:

Happy birthday to one of Lori's DS (from a few days ago) :cake: :bday:

I can't remember if there was anyone else's b-day, Happy Birthday to all of the January b-days!

K-fed- is your tooth fixed? I hope you are doing alot better:wizard:

Hi to Mac and everyone :wave2:

Guys, I'm dragging. I feel like I have been through a battle and I'm not sure I was on the winning side.

Have we been talking weight loss? I need to lose about 10 pounds or so from where I am now. The secret to losing weight that I have learned is... there isn't one. Almost all diets work, but you have to figure out what works for YOU. For some people, they can't weigh themselves every day because they get discouraged if the number doesn't go down every day. For others, they need to weigh themselves every day to keep the number in their head and stay focused. Some people can't deny themselves anything or they freak out and eat a ton of everything. Some people have to approach a new eating style like an alcoholic and drop ALL the bad stuff. Some people need to reward themselves for accomplishing small goals and then set new small goals to achieve. Others need to set that one big goal out there and keep striving toward it. Some people do best when they count calories. Others do best when the count proteins and starches. Some people need to get out of the house and step on a scale in front of a stranger (at Weight Watchers, the Y, a doctor, wherever). Others can do it on their own bathroom scale. You know your personality better than anyone, so the trick is to find what fits you and keeps you going. Not what is easiest, not what sounds like it has worked for millions of others (I always love that line), not what is trendy, but what will get your personality motivated. There's my two cents worth.

Just so you know, I steadily gained weight from my early 20s until I was 30. I was a skinny kid and thin teen, so it was a shock to finally realize that I had a problem I needed to deal with. I got on a program (I'm a "make me weigh myself in front a stranger" personality) and dropped about 60 pounds. I gained again when I got pregnant with Joshua and had to lose about 50 after he was born, but I waited... oh... about a year or so after he was born to even start trying. With Daniel, I kept a closer eye on things and only had to lose about 30 after he was born. It's been creeping up on me again this past year, so time to shave off that 10 extra I'm carting around.

I'm going to try to upload a Photo Story that I did back in August as an anniversary present for Brad. It'll show you my rollercoaster weight over the years. At least I stay within a 10 to 15 pound window of the same weight these days... and it is within my doctor's "healty weight range" for my height.

Janet is ignoring your smiley isn’t she!

no way, i compared him to richard nixon pages ago:lmao:

i am thinking of running off with the pirate 'nanner though....arrgh, he's hot!

just got our tree down on Friday, DHs 1st day off since he went back to work 2 days after Xmas; outdoor decs sitting in the LR drying out before they get packed away. Amusing ourselves with placing garland on ceiling fan & betting on how many revolutions before it goes flying...gotta do something now that my team went down the drain.:rolleyes1

as predicted...

steelers rose to the lowest common denominator:mad: i'm still rooting for the sea-hogs:dance3:

drinks r on barb:thumbsup2 congrats

jodie - savannah is adorable, fine addition to your family; i'm partial to black cats, sheep

tricia - handsome gents, don't blink - soon they'll be walking down the aisle; cannot believe the "real" rings were attached to the pillow

marci - dont get talked into a mid-sized suv; some of the smallest cargo space i've seen; espec. the Jeep & Saturn. Once they tried to palm off a PT cruiser as one, couldn't even get 2 suitcases in the back.:confused3 Check out mousesavers, entertainment has some good coupons too.

lots of good dieting strategies...

unfortunately, if you quit smoking or go thru 'the change' (previously sluggy metabolism gears down to zip)...

all bets all off; better than the alternative i suppose.;)

cooking my Xmas ham today, finally; least i won't have to cook tomorrow:idea:

For all of you who have a list of homies addresses, we have a new one to add to the list! PM me and I will get it to you.

Seeing as we are talking diets - did you guys know that Sweating to the Oldies is now out on DVD?! You just can't keep Richard Simmons down!

Your view regarding successful weight loss is exactly in line with my thinking. There are just to many gimmicks and you have to know what works for you and be certain you can stick with whatever you choose.

I'm one of those "I can't eat just one" types, so I have to basically give it all up. Plus, with the Alli, if you eat more than 15 grams of fat per meal, you will have side effects. Alli works with your digestive system, so anyone care to guess what the side effects would be like?? I don't want to experience it, so I've been very, very careful and so far, so good. Matter of fact, I'm feeling kind of freaky about what I eat and examining things like never before. If I'm not 100% certain of content, I won't eat it. I hope to be able to have one of something at some point in my life. I don't want to forever have to give up burgers, pizza, things like that. I guess I just have to get through this then see if I can incorporate them into my life again. Here's something else. . .I've not set any certain number that I want to weigh. I am tall, so I think on the charts I should weight between like 170 - 186. . . sumthing like that. But I honestly don't care what my scale says, as far as that goes. I just want to feel good and be healthier (or is that more healthy)?? I use the scale to know how much I am losing, but it will not rule my life.

Thanks to Sharon who sent me some yummy looking low-fat recipes this morning! And thanks to everyone for all your support. . . I know for certain that I will need it. I am absolutely determined.

Ya'll want to know what really, truly, honestly motivated me to get my big ole butt moving?? I wanna fit in the seat on the MUMMY!!!!!!!! and all the other rides that could be questionable. That is my goal for end of April. . . to be certain I will fit on any and every ride at the parks!!! So in essence, from spending so much time here, and reading all your posts and trippies, you have motivated me. Seriously, I've never been as committed as I am right now. I know it is age and others factors as well, but my biggest motivator is being able to fit on the rides and spend the day on my feet, which, when you are my size, can be challenging. I don't want to spend half my day sitting down and miss doing all those things with my kids, because I'm TOO DAMN FAT! I have lots of poundage to get rid of, and I will by no means be anywhere near my "I'm good right here" weight, whatever that might be, but I plan to lose 40 pounds by our trip. That's a big, giant step to where I want to be.

I need to ketchup like everyone else and respond to everyone else instead of focusing on mineself. Sorry . . .I'll get there.

Okay, my Photo Story file was too big to upload as one continuous video on PhotoBucket and YouTube "failed to convert my file", so I'm splitting it into two files. Here's the first half of my 8th anniversary present to Brad. It'll cover 1998 (when we started dating) until November, 2001 (when Joshua was born).

http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff248/MooMonsters/Videos/?action=view&current=8thAnniversary1.flv

Here's the second half, which covers December, 2001 thru Summer, 2007

http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff248/MooMonsters/Videos/?action=view&current=8thAnniversary2.flv

I hope that works. Anyway, you can watch me gain... lose... gain... lose.

So, how do you guys want me to do the wedding pics? You want a mini trip report? You just want me to throw some out there and tell you who everyone is? What sounds good to y'all? :confused3

Marcie-enjoyed your 2 videos :thumbsup2
I like the duet piano one. The kid that's playing next to your DS, he sure was flipping the pages fast, wasn't he? I got a kick of the kid flipping the pages  Looks like your DS enjoyed playing the duet, and hte piano in general :thumbsup2
I took piano lessons when I was kid and I remembered how nervous I was to do piano recitals, piano duets etc. Wasn't my thing. My mom kinda forced me into the piano lessons. I love singing alot more :)

Tricia-enjoyed your videos, too! To me, you really didn't gain weight :confused3
However you want to talk about your dnephew's wedding is fine by me ;)

oh...so now we're potatoes hmmmmm ............ :snooty:

well, my mom always said throw another potatoe in the pot when she made dinner because found out another person was showing up to eat with us.

Leo's, potatoes, all the same pot we are in.......

see how far back i am....... it will take me a long time to ketchup.
trying to make dinner, find news on britney, scrub bathroom floor, and do laundry all the same time i am here with the homies
.

So, how do you guys want me to do the wedding pics? You want a mini trip report? You just want me to throw some out there and tell you who everyone is? What sounds good to y'all? :confused3

certianly...

nothing worse than peeps who wait a long time to do a TR:beach:

Is 4/15 still the due date? Wasn't there something about the government not making up their minds about something in time?? I'm not really sure, I don't follow....
Barb - April 15 is still the due date. The IRS has not revised the forms needed for AMT tax, and these won't be ready until February. The official line is they are advising folks to not file until after these forms come out. (Our firm does only a handful of returns before 2/15 anyway.)

Well, now you have to get him Rock Band! Guitar, drums - all he needs to do is sing and he can have a blast! (Or get you or DH to sing along with him!).
Marci - he did get Rock Band for PS2. His grampa told him this was his Christmas present, but couldn't find it around here for PS2. They were not getting any in until after 12/25. So Gramps found one on 1/2. It is set up in the living room. I sang and they boo'd me off the stage.:lmao:

Marci - Son is in band in 7th grade. They started at the end of 6th grade school year. He basically hits the drum pad. But for his school Christmas concert, he got to play the bass drum. So, he was pretty excited about that.:cool1:

Do you take a big vacation after the 15th to recoup?
Unfortunately, NO. Since DS is still in school, we wait until summer. I do take some days off and enjoy doing "nothing" all day.

The secret to losing weight that I have learned is... there isn't one.
:rotfl2: Amen. I figure the only way I am going to succeed is to work hard at it, either diet or exercise, preferably both.

Tricia - looking forward to the report and the pics. You have got to have some good stories, as the bride and groom must not be too bright, if they put the real rings on the pillow and gave it to 2 children.:confused3

Tricia - looking forward to the report and the pics. You have got to have some good stories, as the bride and groom must not be too bright, if they put the real rings on the pillow and gave it to 2 children.:confused3

Ummm... yeah. Hello? My boys are SIX and TWO. DO NOT hand them a pillow with platinum and diamonds tied loosely on top! Donna (SIL) handed Joshua the pillow and he sat down with it. Then she (later) mentioned to me that the rings were tied on loosely so there wouldn't be any problem getting them off when the ring exchange took place. :scared1: What? Those are the real rings? Who does that???? I walked over to where Joshua was sitting and said, "Can I hold the pillow until it is time for you to take it up front?" :confused3

I'm not sure if you were around when the whole Idiot Nephew story unfolded. Our nephew is 20. Way back when he was 19, he started dating this girl. They "decided" to get married, but, wait... they had to take a big expensive trip to Ireland to have a staged "official engagement", complete with professional photographer. Then they set the date for January 5th, but, wait... they decided to do an "informal vow exchange" in July (at the Ritz Orlando). Okay, so they got married in July, but does that stop the "wedding" in January in Nashville? Heck no! Let's do that too! Oh, but the big landmark venues they wanted weren't available for that Saturday, so they backed it up to Friday. No problem for anyone, right?

Yeah, I guess I'll do a Trippie. I'll forget to tell you guys something if I don't.

The father of the bride is Italian. My FIL, which is Grandfather of the groom is Irish. That alone was entertainment. :rolleyes1

OMG, I cannot WAIT for this trippie!!!!!!

My side of the family is Irish. My cousin's wife is 100% Italian. I know that makes interesting stories!!!

Bring it on!

Good morning all!Let's see...been having some quality time with my kids the last few days while DH was at work. I tried to get my kids out in the snow this past Friday, they didn't want to go out in the snow  So I baked a cake instead.

Hi Rose! I am looking forward to my kids being back in school too. Neither of mine want to go back. The school just does not challenge them enough and they are bored to tears with it. Both want to home school. Mikey is even willing to give up baseball if he can just home school.

Hope your dad is feeling better soon. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the bday wishes!

Katie's tooth is all better. She found a new dentist.

Who beat up on you???? Let me at em!

You are so right about weight loss. My most important factor is my mindset. If someone upsets me then I eat just because. Chocolate is very hard for me to give up. Let's just say that I have about 25 lbs a kid to loose so I have a long way to go. Unfortunately my mindset just isn't in the place it needs to be right now. I had done this once before, in my previous marriage. Once I decided I was done with that marriage the weight just seemed to fall off. Maybe I need to do that again.

Another one of those that just took down the Christmas stuff huh. I must have been in a real bah humbug mood.

Sorry bout your Stellers.

Ham sounds yummy!

For all of you who have a list of homies addresses, we have a new one to add to the list! PM me and I will get it to you.

Seeing as we are talking diets - did you guys know that Sweating to the Oldies is now out on DVD?! You just can't keep Richard Simmons down!

Here's the second half, which covers December, 2001 thru Summer, 2007

I hope that works. Anyway, you can watch me gain... lose... gain... lose.

Those were absolutely wonderful. You have such a beautiful family. I had tears running down my face watching you all through the yearsi/m a sap. Thanks for sharing.
