Hey Homies!
There is absolutely NO WAY for me to "ketchup" around here!!! We've got to get our router installed, so I can have my connection back! The boys have had the internet tied up on Xbox Live for weeks! I'm just popping in to say a quick "hello" before they kick me off! Someone is going to have to supply me with the Cliff Notes! I hope everyone is doing ok!
I made my son buy a router so he can play Xbox live. Now, before you think I'm some mean parent, he IS 20 years old, has a full time job, saving for tech school, ect.... After all, I pay the cable bill, so I am paying for the bandwith![]()
No, I don't think that's mean, he's 20 years old! I can see our kids living with us at 20 or so... The way I see it is that if they are trying to do well enough to get out on their own, why not help them out and give them a better chance at it?
Our kids are 10 and 13. We have had a couple of routers and they went out on us....so we just bought a new one and DH is the one who hooks up all the electronic stuff. I probably could do it, but it's best if I let him do it when he gets time...
We use a router too. Have all 4 computers hooked on to it. It sure has made our life easier. DS (my resident computer geek) also made it so we can share each others printers. I have a super photo printer, DH has a laser printer, kids have cheapo printers. So they use DH's all the time!
Here's a photo of DS building a new computer for himself. Notice the clear case. It has blue lights in it, pretty cool!
He also built a server (not sure why) that resides in his closet...has 3 monitors hooked up on his desk (again, I don't know why!

Hey, ya'll!
Haven't been around for a while, so thought I'd drop in and say Hello! Happy New Year! to everyone.
I seem to have dropped in on a discussion about modems, and routers, and other such techie stuff. . . but I really just wanted to whine a while about my new years resolution.
If I were on the other side of the boards, I would tell you all about being Pooh sized, but since I'm not, I'll just tell ya'll that I'm Fiona sized and my resolution, since I turned 40 in December, is to lose the weight FOREVER!!! I think that I might just have the motivation or whatever it takes to actually do this, because IT IS THE HARDEST THING I THINK I HAVE EVER DONE!!! I've quite smoking, given birth and other similar painful and difficult things in my OLD AGE - but I have been a complete and total rippin' biatch for the past couple days. The first few days were ok (I actually started with the lifestyle change prior to the 1st), and I started taking the FDA approved weight loss aid known as Alli on the 1st - but I honestly feel like I've been in withdrawl for the past couple days! I've never felt like this before, but then again I don't remember ever being so committed to doing this. IT IS SO FREAKING HARD!!!! I have a very good friend who is a recovering alcoholic and we have had many discussions regarding addiction. I have told her, and this confirms it, that I believe food addiction is more difficult to deal with than any other addiction (ok, I've had a couple) because you can't just stop eating. You can stop smoking, drinking, using drugs, shopping or whatever you are addicted to, but you can't stop eating. I'm not saying it's easy to stop doing any of those things, like I said, I've had to quit a couple (smoke free for 13 years this month!!!). I almost snapped my DH's neck last night for bringing a plate of fried chicken and potato salad into the room where I was watching tv - poor guy had no clue what was happening. We had a long discussion today and now he understands and is 1,000% supportive - he just didn't realize what I am going through. To be honest, I didn't either until today. I realized that I'm battling an addiction I've had for 40 years (gosh, it's painful to say that) and that's why I'm crazy.
So, sorry for the very long rant, but I'm certain there's others here who can feel my pain. . . I'm not much into groups like overeaters anon, etc. I spent 4 hours today searcing for low fat recipes. If anyone has a really, truly, honestly good low fat/fat free recipe, please pm me!!!
I'M GOING TO DO THIS!!!!![]()

I picked my screen name before we visited UO. But I will still leave it as one of my tops. Can you guess?Hey that is a great question. What is everyones favorite attraction?
Yeah baby, getting my couch seat warmed up for the Steelers.it's Football day in America; break out the chicken wings & loaded fries 40 degrees @ game time in Pittsburgh,
Lori, I've seen this done at offices, and many folks also swear by this. Unfortunately, I cannot handle this, as I am the worst multi-tasker ever. We have laptops at the office with a docking station and a nice flatscreen monitor. Both of my monitors have to be set to show the same thing or I get confused and cannot function. But have you ever worked with a computer with multiple monitors? It is the best way to work on a computer!
I always like to say, I look like Fiona in her ogre state.I would tell you all about being Pooh sized, but since I'm not, I'll just tell ya'll that I'm Fiona sized
Regarding the router. We got a wireless router a few weeks ago. It is great. One of DS gifts was the internet connection for his Wii. If we didn't have the router, I would never get on!

What foods do you not like? MY DH had a heart attack at 10 years ago, so I've got quite a few low fat recipes. Also, my DD is a vegetarian, and will only eat fish. So I've got some good fish recipes too.
Will the rest of your family also eat lowfat? It's so much easier if you don't have to prepare 2 different meals at the same time.
i see penguinsyou mean the cokey-bears

ds must be a whiz, never knew anyone who built a computer![]()
we had a router, didn't like how it worked; switched over to verizon DSL and there's is working just fine for 2 desktops & laptop, wii, xbox 360 & i think the DS? Even when everything is running, it doesn't seem to slow down much; think it's a steal for less than $20/month.
I would most like to have simple, family friendly recipes that are really good. I don't want to cook 2 meals. . . that will only makes things even more difficult. My family could stand to eat healthier and lose a few pounds too. My family is really being very supportive.
got a call this morning.
My sister died in Oct 99 from cancer.
Her husband died last january, complications of many things.
Her son, my nephew, age 34, died of a heart attack last night.
He was the youngest of 4 boys.

Hello All. Well, lucky me, I have started my working Saturdays from now until April 15. Didn't realize how tired I was until I just sat down.
I picked my screen name before we visited UO. But I will still leave it as one of my tops. Can you guess?

I'm back. You guys managed to fill 12 pages while I was gone!![]()
I'm not complaining. I'll have to wait to ketchup until tomorrow. My @ss is too tired of sitting to stay plunked in this chair for long. We had to take a different route home (don't ask, I'll get into it later) and it added almost an hour to our trip. Ugh.
We survived. The Irish and the Italians didn't come to blows (I was kinda hoping). The boys did their thing. We're home. I have a ton of pictures, but I haven't got the energy to get them all ready to go. Here's a shot of the little guys to get things started:

throw another potatoe in the pot..........we are up to 5 Leo's now.......
Hi everyone....this is my first post! ..... Anyways, hello!
Actually Mikey started playing baseball at the same time Chris did. He was only 3 at the time. This will be his 14th year to play. We have been travleing between the kids for that many years. Most games around here are not that far away. The majority are less than 30 minutes one way. I am so glad Mikey decided that he only want's to play baseball now. We don't have to do the football & basketball games unless we want to. Since Chris graduated 4 years ago we have probably only been to 5 football games. Haven't been to any basketball games. Can't say that I miss it either.
i see someone here has been inside the new kwik e mart....

Portion size has always been an issue for me, so I take a dinner plate and fill it with fresh veggies, then a small plate for whatever else I am having.
As you can see, I need a variety because while everything I have eaten is very healthy, I will grow quickly tired of just a few items.
I'm going to try to stay completely away from red meat for a bit. Maybe on vacation I will have a hamburger!
You know that thing that kids do where you pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time? Don't laugh, but i can't do it to save my life!!
