Hi everyone

Good news on the sick DH front. If you remember, he had a sharp pain in his chest that wasn't going away. The docs all agree that he has torn some cartilege that attaches to a rib. He's feeling pretty good with the muscle relaxer and tylenol. :thumbsup2

I accidently found out a few days ago that DH is taking me to Fort Lauderdale for a long weekend! :woohoo: It's my birthday present! I can't wait. My boss let it slip that I wouldnt be at work for a few days. DH had called to tell them I would be gone. Ooops....she felt like such a jerk, but I'm glad I know. I have not told him that I know. But now I can start getting together a few outfits and stuff. Who knows how much notice he was going to give me?? I've already packed away the summer clothes!
Off to see a play with a .
Talk to ya'll later.

Good to hear DH is "okay"...and WOW! What a surprise.... lucky you! Hope you have a wonderful time...and I guess that is your "note" to "excuse" you, huh Mac??? I agree...good thing you know, you can 'pack' more appropriately now ;)

::yes::
excuse accepted.

no staying after skool for detention now.

mac....what are you smoking? :smokin:

either that...or just tryin to get all the Halloween smilies in before the big night tomorrow....when nobody will be around cuz we are either handing out candy or walking around begging for it

keisha, you are not having luck this year with the teeth.
been there myself 4 years ago.
but mine came from a car accident and had to have 8 teeth capped/crowned.

yikes!
mine are just old:rolleyes1 think i need to start popping calcium tabs, dentist said could be from years of smoking:headache: , or mad-dog gnashing of teeth that i'm prone to (whatever - it's my fault lol). I'm @ the point where more are probably capped/crowned than not; glad i have good dental insurance.

barb - i detest candy corn, DH inhales it:confused3

they are good for putting on your teeth & pretending to be a vampire:thumbsup2

OK, maybe 25 words or less? 50?

I'm sorry. I really want to keep up with this thread. I just can't. Then I feel bad when I've inadvertently forgotten someone or don't respond personally to all.

MAC, keep the BOOGIE Man AWAY!! I have GARLIC and I'm not afraid to use it!

come on now homie jodie, you have met me in person.

YOU KNOW i am unable to even answer a yes or no question in less than 75 words........

i'll assign someone to take cliff notes for you. :rolleyes1

i love candy corn
i love chocolate.

i love candy......

bring it on

in our community and surrounding towns, trick or treaters can only go out on the last sunday of the month and only between the hours of 2 - 5.

it is kept as a supervised event. the town officials try to encourage it to be a family event.
the mayors walk is during that time and most businesses will be open with employees outside the door handing out treats.

it has been like this for years.

our halloween was this past sunday.
no one came to our house.
but then, we didn't have the porch light on as a signal they could come to the door.

when i was a kid, we went on beggars night/ 10-30 and halloween night.

if we didn't get candy on beggars night, we soaped their car windows.
yea, i was a rebel at age 9

Thanks, mac. :goodvibes Perhaps you can rotate my note taker assignments to unsuspecting victims? :lmao:

We only have trick or treat here from 5:30 - 7:30 tomorrow. I barely get a dozen kids each year. We live in the old section of town -- small houses. The kids want to got to the McMansion Section instead. We give out the full size candy bars. I do this because I think nothing of eating 3 snack size bars, but I can't bring myself to eat a full size bar. Logic at its finest!

jodie, i'll do the cliff notes for you.
i'm working tomorrow but will have them done for you in the evening.

talk about sucking the life out of halloween - in the daytime?

a certain community, several miles away has fallen upon scary, hard times:sad2: ; they haven't had trick or treat for @ least 10 years...many parents gravitate to our neck of the woods (not quite mc mansions lol; i followed the old realtor trick of buying the crapiest house on the street to elevate it's worth) They stop & talk-very complimentary about our display. They are very forthright about being "outsiders"; always thank us for not making their kids feel like outcasts:confused3 we live in a predominately white community; evidently, some of the other neighborhoods in town haven't been quite so welcoming:mad: ba-humbug indeed.

i buy 200 candy bars; & a giant tub of prepackaged pretzels...when it's gone - the lights will go out (although it hasn't happened yet).

i am thankful that my house won't get toilet papered again for a few years (weird school custom for senior sports students); really a pia if it rains.

i volunteered to take care of one of our church lady's 4 cats while she went on a vacation. started it yesterday and will continue for a bit.

she wants her kitties fed 3 x's a day.
ok, i can keep the schedule she has.

only problem i have with working, i go to her house, which is the town away from mine at 6:15 in the morning. then leave from her house to go to work and be there by 7:20.

on my lunch hour, drive like an idiot, it's ok, i wear my seat belt, and do the cats lunch quickly. i only have 35 minutes so i'm pushing it.

then i go back at 4:30 as the cats want to be fed around 4:30-4:45.

she has 4 litter boxes i scoop out.

i'm a sucker for cats.
i could make it a full time job.
only problem with it being a job, i refuse money for helping out.

OKAY, WHO EVER IT WAS THAT SAID NO EASTER BUNNY, WELL NOW YOU HAVE GONE OVER THE LINE :furious: :furious:

He does exist! He brings me a chocolate bunny every year and I rip the ears off and gobble them down as quick as can be. and here is another piece of proof:Jimmy Stewart knew the Easter Bunny as well. Only he called him Harvey the Rabbitt......:rolleyes1

Bunny/Rabbitt.....all the same, cute and furry and not the main course at sunday dinner:scared1:

My pumpkin carnage is through. I carved all three of those suckers. I let the boys each pick a design for one and the last one I just make a traditional-ish jack 'o lantern face. Joshua decided he wanted a pirate. Daniel picked Blues Clues. Yeah, we're going to have an interesting display. The pirate, the jack 'o lantern, and Blues Clues.

I'll try to get some pictures.

I'm tired.

Night homies.

my "out"laws considered them a delicacy tastes:rolleyes1 like chicken

mac - take the money & run:upsidedow we have 3 kittie boxes, one for each cat;)
