GEMMA!!!! Good to see you and waiting for the story popcorn:: , glad ya didn't post it drunk :lmao: :lmao:

doing a quick drive by - lots to do today, big party for DH tomorrow for his 40th and also have a friend from the military that he hasn't seen in 19 years coming in tomorrow am!! Will pop in later to chek things out!

Mornin' all! :wave2:
DS13 had a football game last night (we won 24 -8) and he actually got to play this time!:yay: He was over the moon! Coaches can be such PITAs sometimes (make that most of the time)! He hasn't played before this year, so he's not as good at the plays as some of the other boys, but he is the fastest boy out there and if they would just work with him a little and try to teach him a few things, I think he could be an asset for the team. He's been really discouraged about the whole football thing and wanted to quit, but last night he told us that he's decided that he's going to try harder because he really enjoyed being out there on the field.

Tricia, :grouphug: hugs for you and your sister. I hope you get some better news soon! I do know what you are going through and it takes a lot of strength for your sister and all of her loved ones. Hang in there and remember that your friends here are all praying for your family.
Mac, you start feeling better!!! You're not supposed to be feeling bad right before your trip! I didn't know you had meniere's disease. I didn't know what it was and I looked it up. Does it interfere with you being able to fly or ride rollercoasters? Hugs for you too :grouphug:

Gemma, hey girl!:dance3: We've missed you! Welcome back!

Gemmapixie : i think the Pea Cider, was meant to be Pear cider.
She was just to intoxicated to type or see properly:rotfl2:

Ok this was ageesss ago but just to clear up- I was drinking PEAR cider, not pea cider. You know what Im like when Im drunk! lol.

I can't read anymore! Anyone fancy giving me an update? :)

Ohhh this story is tragic! And Im sure I will get told off for it by some of the mummys here! lol. Ok here goes

So im ill at the minute, just a mild flu. Got a bad cold, killer headache, sore throat, weak etc etc. But me and my girls had arranged an ann summers party for ageeesss so I decided to go anyway. Went out having eat toast at 8.30 that morning and a packet of crisps at about 3pm. So ann summers party started at 8pm. Then we went out afterwards at about 11 I think. I drank a bottle of wine at the party then got to the first club and drank more drink (don't even know what it was!!). The got to the second club and didn't drink anything because we left soon after arriving but did smoke. The got to the 3rd club, got on the vodka lime and lemonades and got really ill! (Remember I was ill anyway) Soo...I had to go!! Well, my ex, acting like the gent said he would take me home and make sure I'm safe and told all our friends he was taking me home (awww....how nice-NOT!) he took me outside, put me in a taxi then said 'ok so you can get home by yourself then'. BUT stupidly I decided that I didnt want to go home and I wanted to find my other friend who was out but not with us. So he just left me to wander on my own (I was falling over every couple of steps and couldn't see properly!). So here's me, all alone in the centre of Liverpool. Well thank god my friends friend found me! I have met this girl a couple of times but she lives near me now so I got a taxi with her and she left me home. If it wasn't for her, who knows where I would be. I totally forgot where I lived! Will never drink on an empty stomach again! All my fault of course but still a bit annoyed at my ex for leaving me to walk about on my own in a low cut dress when he knew how intoxicated I was!

WELCOME BACK GEMMA!!!

You have been well and truly missed. Get your internet up and running so you can stop by regular again.

I'm just here for a quick stop to let everyone know that if you don't hear from me again it's because I've murdered my husband and I'm in jail. :headache:

He calls me this morning after I drop Joshua off at school and says, "Did I mention that the CPA is coming by the house this morning to update our books?"

Ummm... NO... you didn't mention it. The house is a mess. I haven't vacuumed in over a week. I haven't even had a shower for criminy sakes! She's supposed to be here in an hour, so I'm off to see what I can get done so she won't think we live like pigs. :sad2:  :headache:

Okay, finally going to try to get caught up. I know some of this stuff is kinda old!

After the show, we stopped for the bathroom....the ONLY time the ladies line was shorter than the guys. The ladies line didn't even make it out of the bathroom, while the guys line was down along the wall :lmao: (loved it!)

Sounds like you had a great evening. Love that the bathroom line was so long for the men!!!!

lori - that's a big group, did you book GV? hope you didn't get stuck "comp'ing" them all; makes me queasy thinking of the points.;)

Yep, I used my points to book the rooms. I did do an add on at SSR though and got developer points that we had to use. We had 2 - 2 bed units & 2 studios, stayed at OKW since it was the cheapest.

But it's Monday, and my house is a mess, and I've got laundry... and I am stuck in a hamster wheel, aren't I? Sigh.

We are shopping for a new church. Yesterday's didn't work out. It is SO frustrating trying to find a place where we are all happy. The church that we were members of went through some major upheaval around the first of the year and we just had to remove ourselves from the situation. We've been trying to find a new home church ever since. Most of the churches in this area are small, esablished ones (i.e. my great-grandfather was married in this church) and you will always be an outsider... or they are Mega churches and I feel lost in them. I don't want to sit next to strangers week after week. We tried a popular Mega church for awhile, but they could never find a small group where Brad & I fit. Fortysomethings? Number 1, Brad is 50. Number 2, most of these people have grown children, not little ones like us. Tried the Parents of Young group. Nope. They are mostly in their 20s and in a different place in their life. Form a We Don't Fit In group and we might have a shot.

Anyway, we are about to try the Presbyterian and Baptist churches near the town square. They are large, but not HUGE. I think we have to get out of the Pentecostal ones for awhile. I can't take the drama.

So, my sister has cancer (again)... my son is the target of a bully... our busniess is struggling... my mom is a mess and won't deal with all the stuff she needs to deal with... and I have a carpet full of dog hair.

Anyone want to come join me for a pity party? I'll buy the booze. :rotfl2:

Tricia I am so sorry you are having such a tough time. Just know that we ae here for you through it all. :grouphug:

DSs both stated they hate me over the confirmation snafu (even though i told #2 to get 'er done months ago & he didn't it's all my fault).

#2 is especially angry, many harsh words flung @ me, I've spent most of the day boo-hoo'ying...sometimes you just can't make it all better and kids just have to live with their own consequences.

This made me want to come up and give your DS a swift kick in the rear.

My oldest & I had our problems the last couple of years he was in high school. He could get so hateful with me & when we were having words one evening the youngest two got very upset at his behavior. It finally got to the point that I just let him do whatever he wanted to keep the two younger ones from getting upset. (Every time I tired to correct him it got hateful.) He was 18 during the second semester of his junior year, so I just made sure he went to school and came home at a decent time, otherwise left him alone.

Needless to say, there was a lot of pent up anger over his behavior. So, at the end of this fabulous family trip in 05 (he had graduated the summer before), where everyone was on their best behavor, he decided to get hateful at the airport when we got home! He stayed at his girlfriends parents housefor the next few days I heard nothing from him. Came home one day & he had been here and left the garage door open. I called him and said something to him about it, he got hateful & mouthy. Bad decision! It was the first time in years that he had done it when the younger two weren't with me. The next two hours were the two of us screaming at each other over the phone, him hanging up on me, me calling back until he answered & ended with me telling himto be at the house by Saturday to get his crap out of my house & go with me to the tag agency so I could sign the vehicle he had over to him & get it out of my name. Told him if he was not there before the tag agency closed I would report the car as stolen. Did not talk to him again for 4 days. He called Saturday morning to see if I wanted him to come to the house first or meet at the tag agency. When he got there he said he had not slpet since we had gotten in to it. I toold him I slept better then I had in years. Amazing what geting all that anger out of you will do for you.

He is a completely different young man now. He is very considerate and we have a great relationship. Tough love is really hard to do but in my case it sure did make a difference.

:stir: :stir: :stir: :stir:

Bless the State of Nevada
for not granting bail to OJ!
:thumbsup2

It is about time that worthless piece of crap has to pay for something.

And, also good news from Bubba's Dad this morning. On IM, he happily let me know that we won $396 in the lottery last night :yay: Oddly, nobody had hit the daily Cash 5 and we play it every day during the week (ya know, buy tickets for the week from the same lady at the same store... ) Well, nobody had hit for a few days, so the pot was 450,000. On the way to soccer last nite (which was a "squeeze in" stop that made us a few minutes late for soccer practice) we stopped by our "usual" place and got $5 worth of quick picks. Apparently we had 4 of 5 numbers on one of the quick picks and won some bucks :thumbsup2 ...so much for playing "our" numbers regularly :confused3 Going out to dinner to celebrate Saturday....maybe :lmao: ....I'm thinking "vacation fund"....haven't "talked" to DH yet about it...only thru IM on the computer. Heck! We still haven't spent or decided what to do with our yardsale money yet....and that was the beginning of JUNE!!! :rotfl2: Hmmm :scratchin, I remember DH saying something about wanting a new camcorder (one w/ a hard drive) ..... :scratchin ........

Congrats on the big win Barb!

We finally had to make the best of a bad situation, have my brother and his wife fly out the weekend before, have a party with the grandparents, etc., and celebrate the "pre-confirmation" and have DH stand in as DS' sponsor on the actual day. :sad2: Had we not been moving a few months later, the entire attitude of the church staff and priest ("tough - not our fault!") would have been enough to convince us to change churches. DH and I were very involved in the church and had been for 12 years - he was in the choir and a eucharistic minister and I taught religious ed - and the fact that they could care less about us until we threatened to not give them the money we'd given regularly, just totally turned us off the entire church!

That just stinks.

Anyway, vent over. We're not total heathens. We just believe that a belief in God and organized religion do not have to be mutually exclusive.

Pretty much my belief too. I don't feel that being inside a church makes me a Christian. The way I treat people and not being a hypocrit is much more important then sitting inside a building then acting like a totally different person once I am outside of the building.

Calling all threaders!

who is your baseball team???????? playoffs are drawing close

who is your football team.....

at this point , some of us just want a win.....

giants

Well, I'm really not that in to any major league teams all that much.

I do like the Braves, but don't follow it at all. We will watch world series games though.

For football I like to watch the Broncos at times, loved the Cowboy's while Troy was there (hated you guys beloved Eagels while he was there, didn't lke anyone that tried to take him out of a game). I loved the 49er's when Joe played, now they just stink. I also really miss Elway. Other then that I like to watch teams that have my former Sooners playing for them.

My sports is more the Sooners football & Nascar. Since we don't have professional teams around here we just don't follow them all that much.

My baseball is my sons team, the Tuttle Tigers!

Well, then we get a letter in the mail (apparently a form letter from what I found out later), saying things like "why aren't you involved in the church, is your faith lacking, is there a problem with your marriage?" :confused3 Just like - wait, we participate at church & send you money, but because we didn't fill out their little form, suddenly there's a problem with our marriage!

Apparently, they lost a lot of folks from the parish over this mailing!

:scared1:

It's a primary school, for criminy sakes. Kindergarten, First and Second Grades... that's it. How many friggin fund raisers do we need at this level???

I totally agree. They just want way to much!

That's right, ladies ... this beer drinkin, cuss like a sailor, works in a men's league Republican hates football and baseball! How much do y'all hate me now?

We still love you!

Mornin' all! :wave2: (I suppose that should be Ahoy mates!)
Quick fly by before I'm off to work...
Did you know that today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day? :rotfl:

Dang I missed it!:sad2:

Let's see...
I don't drink beer.
I watch football and NASCAR on tv.
I used to watch baseball, but haven't really cared in the last few seasons.
I try to watch hockey, but I'm the only one in my house that likes it, so that doesn't happen often.
I don't have a political affiliation. Got tired of watching my parents (Republicans) and my sister (a Democrat) vote for complete idiots just because they had a red name or a blue name, so I refuse to align myself with either party.
I live in rural Georgia, but I was born and raised in Atlanta.
I am divorced, but since the first marriage lasted 8 years, I don't know if it qualifies for the "starter marriage" label. Most people talk about a starter marriage as a first marriage that lasts 3 years or less and results in no children.
I am married to a guy that is almost 10 years older than I am, and we've been married for over 8 years.
I'm 41 years old and I have 2 sons under the age of 6.

I don't fit in anywhere, do I? :confused3

Don't ask me why the sports discussion started that. I guess I just got thinking that I don't fit a stereotypical sports fan of any variety and just kept going... ;)

I think we fit pretty well together. So does that help?

OKAY- MY TURN.

I am a Republican. Dyed in the wool.
I no longer drink any alchohol. :thumbsup2
I live in suburban Maine, until 3 years ago lived in Suburban NH.
I have now been married 8 years to a guy I have been together with for 18 years. We have no children.
I like to watch football, baseball and enjoy Nascar.
Used to watch Basketball until the whole thing went downhill-just my opinion. (Celtics fan)
Sometimes watch hockey. Well, the fights really.
I think I am boring.
I like museums and stuff like that.
I like to cook and bake.
Oh, and I like this thread. and the homies on it. :goodvibes

Next??????

Not boring at all.

You know, I think the reason I have gotten really turned off of professional sports is because of all the rule changes. They just are not the same games I watched growing up. Basketball has got to be the worst. It is more like maul ball, and how many steps can you take now? It's just not right.

It's been raining all day today due to a "tropical disturbance" off the coast. The coastal areas are REALLY getting it. I took a couple hours off this afternoon that's why I'm home.

Looks like you are still getting hammered. I hope the weather clears up soon.

Me at 7.5 months pregnant with Joshua:

Loved the pics. You looked great!

thanks again for the good wishes, spent most of day arguing w/ex who now has his nose in the pot...started the day @ 5:30 a.m. woke up asked "why i'm causing trouble":confused3 he is insane; 10 years down the tubes with that fool

lori - hope things are going better for you than me...i'm just going to go with the flow...whatever that may be.
Shall I come up and give him a swift kick in the rear too?

Things are going okay around here. DD got soon to be ex-sil to admit he trashed her room mates car and got a recording of it. I am hoping they will get something done about him soon. I really wish they would just get him in a hospital and get him some help. I think he is really sick.

Dad is feeling much better after we got so much stuff taken care of this week. Soon to be ex-step mother refused to take a settlement, thinking she could get a lot more. Dad filed and it looks like she finally talked to a lawyer and Thursday asked if the offer was still good. Guess she screwed herself pretty good cause the offers are all of the table. She is quite a piece of work herself. The important thing though is that dad is able to sleep and eat again. He just wasn't taking care of himself because he was so worried.

*soon as ink was dry on decree married love of my life, celebrated 15 years on valentines day:love: he treats my 2 older sons as his own.

That is wonderful! So glad you have someone that is so special to you.

I am just coming on to say that after a flippin month I think the door issue is FINALLY settled. Settled. Not fixed. Just settled. Spent the afternoon on the phone with the insurance company. It was UPS holding things up, not Liberty Mutual. Breaking news, eh?

I have no prego pics. For me to have prego pics would mean giving up Seasonale, which is only the best ... drug ... ever! So, no newborn pics for me either. I enjoyed Tricia pics and can't wait to see everyone else's though! I suppose after 15 straight years of being (happily) on the pill, I should look into long-term damage, but my doc keeps prescribing them, and she would tell me if that were bad, right? Is this TMI? :rotfl:

Well, I have to go give Ali Cat a pill. Oh what fun. Alex is too frickin smart, and even though I swear I have given him the pill and he's swallowed it, I inevitably find it later. I have 2 good days (haven't found the spit up pills yet), and I fear my luck is about to run out. Male cats and bladder infections. Hmmpphhh.

Well, I am glad that something is at least settled. Now maybe you can git it fixed.

Don't be so sure that your doc. would tell you that it wasn't good for you. They don't always have your best interest at heart. Just make sure you ask plenty of questions.

By the way, do you guys know the difference in doctor recommended & doctor tested? Doctor recommended just means that the pharaceutical companies have brought in samples and asked them to hand them out. Doctor tested means that a panel of doctors actually have participated in testing of the product.

I hope Ali is taking her pills for you and is okay.

Back from soccer practice....ends at 7:30 and it's dark then :guilty: feel like it's time to go to bed...*sigh*..... Will tell this about practice, Robbie "the whiner kid" comes over to us (his Mom just dropped him off, didn't stay) and asks us if it was okay to 'chug' his drink. Said he usually brings 'water', but his Mom poured his soda in his thermos bottle :scared1: and when he asked another kid on the team, he didn't trust his answer.... We told him to sip it :rolleyes2 I cannot believe she didn't send water with him...SODA?!?!?! He did mention it was from McDonalds, and practice did start at 5:30, so maybe she was crunched for time...but still, they DO sell WATER at McDonalds :headache: (Maybe it's ME, but I just don't 'get' some people.....)

Other than that, DH and I had a good day together.....(note to self: play hookie together more often :rolleyes1 ) Installed motion detector on the light out back....now let's just hope it doesn't go on

Sounds like Robbie's parents are real winners. He needs water or gatorade, not pop!

Gotta start putting up the VA pics up soon with a mini TR.

Can't wait to see the pics & here all about the trip.

I hope things improve for you. What an icky situation. At least when my ex and I parted ways... we parted ways. I haven't seen or heard from him in almost 10 years. I don't even know where he is anymore. With no children to force us to have contact, there's never been any need. I can't imagine what that is like.

I hope things with the divorce(s) get settled soon Lori. That's a lot of turmoil for you to be handling at once. :grouphug:

My ex just disappeared after I filed for divorce, much to my families relief, when my two oldest were 2 & 6 months. He didn't want to pay child support & we were just thrilled we didn't have to worry about the kids being with him. He had family that lived out of state and we were worried that he would try to run off with them. The only ting I have heard from him in 22 years was a letter I got when he tried to file bankruptcy on his child support. IDIOT!

I didn't envy my wife at all!! Three trips to the hospital, 11 days late, stopped dilating at 2cm, so they yanked him (Zak, our son) outta there!!!!! It was fascinating watching the C section! (I had aspirations as a teenager of being a doctor, so the gore factor doesn't bother me, I actually watched my own carpal tunnel surgery as well) It was cool to see all the inside parts to the female anatomy. I saw Sherry's ovaries, fallopian tubes, and asked if I could help stitch up the uterus, but, even though her OBGYN was cool, he wouldn't let me :confused3 Anyway, you woman are a lot braver than men, after witnessing the C section, I have no problem admitting that!!!!!

Glad teh doc didn't let you stitch her up! So many men would have never been able to watch that. Good for you.

My father used to say that if men were in charge of having the babies, the human race would die. I remember him saying, "One man would get pregnant and go through labor/delivery. He would tell all his friends, and that would be it. No more babies."

Well, I would have to agree with your father.

Just thought I would pop back in and say that my husband is alive and well. I managed to get the house together, sorta. Myself is another matter entirely. It was either the house or me, so the house got the cleaning since she would be sitting in it and didn't have to be near me. I am sweaty and gross, but I'll have to deal with that after I pick up Joshua from school.

Also, I'm a little freaked out that I mentioned murder in my post numbered 666. Don't anyone start chanting REDRUM or anything like that. :scared1:

I'll be back later.

i believes things are working out @ my house:banana: , at least i lost 5# this week.

Glad that things are working out. Maybe I won't have to come up there and kick some butt afterall.

i found 2 pairs of shorts at target today.
only took me 2 hours of searching.

so now i have a black and a blue with white stripes shorts to wear.
2 different sizes but they will work.

woo hoo, i'm on a roll...

bbl

:cool1: :cool1:

Hi all!
It's been crazy busy here, but in a good way. Lovely day here in Maine today, feels like Indian Summer. :thumbsup2 I was able to sit outside in the sunshine with a book for a little while after work. :woohoo:

We are leaving for the airport tomorrow morning at the ungodly hour of 4:30. We're heading to check out another college (RIT) in Rochester NY. I'll be back on Sunday. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Have a great trip!

I'm checking in before I drop.

Joshua's dentist visit went well today. This was the makeup 6 month cleaning, since he freaked out the last time we were there. Didn't make so much as a whimper this time. Go figure. :confused3

We rushed from school, to the dentist, then back home, then back to school. This was the "Family Reading Night" at Joshua's school (which was really the Book Fair fundraiser in disguise). We had fun, ate a ridiculous dinner (hot dog, Cheetos, Little Debbie snack cakes, & Coke... can you say healthy?), played around in the classrooms, and, yes, succombed to the pressure and bought a freakin' book.

My sister had her appointment with the oncologist and the surgeon today. It wasn't great news. Because of the size of the growth, they are scheduling her for aggresive chemo (twice a week) in an attempt to shrink the mass before scheduling surgery. They will do a biopsy Monday and a whole bunch of tests Wednesday to see if the cancer has spread to any other part of her body. She will meet with the oncologist again next Thursday to discuss the results. One of the tests is a genetic screening which will determine if her body is simply prone to produce cancer cells. If it is determined that is the case, they are recommending a double mastectomy to reduce future risks. No matter what, she has a long and difficult road ahead of her. :sad1:

Kids! They are just too funny. Ally has hated dentist, but really likes the latest one we found. Sounds like you had a very busy day.

Here is a book that would be great for your sister; http://www.amazon.com/Beating-Cancer-Nutrition-Patrick-Quillin/dp/096383729X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-1565762-2109701?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190394593&sr=8-1. The author was the Director of Treatment at the Cancer Centers of America.

One very important thing is that she should completely eleminate sugar from her diet. Cancer cells feed on sugar.

I am keeping you both in my thoughts & prayers. It can be beat. Just stay positive about it and make sure she does too.

Mac...make sure we exchange cell #'s before you leave so we can plan for 10/04 and HHN.

Sounds like fun!

Will have to look for those pics, never did post...jik anyone wants to see them.popcorn::

Yes we would like to see them!

i wish i could respond to all of you but not able to right now.
i am sick.
i have meniere's disease and wiped out

when i can sit up longer, i will be back.

yea, haven't packed or organized yet for the trip.

you all take care homies.
i need to read back to see what is happening to all you homies.

I hope you feel better before your trip. :grouphug:

Look who's bacccckkkkkk!!

Well, not totally, we havn't got internet in our house yet but someone close to us hasn't locked their wireless so Im using it! Its slow but it works! yayyy

I havn't read everything I missed (anyone even know the last page I got to?) I did just read on this page about Tricia's sister. I just wanted to say I'm so sorry to hear about that. I don't know how she must be feeling- she's in my thoughts!

I got terribly drunk last night. Ended up in town not knowing where I lived!! Very long story including a dick-head guy! grrrrrr. I hate men!!

We are so glad you are at least partly back. You need to be more careful. Absolutely no judgement here, been there done it myself way back when, we just want you to stay safe.

I'm going to be going to HHN this year!

:yay: :yay:

doing a quick drive by - lots to do today, big party for DH tomorrow for his 40th and also have a friend from the military that he hasn't seen in 19 years coming in tomorrow am!! Will pop in later to chek things out!

Happy birthday to DH. Have a great weekend.

Congrats to your DS on getting to play. I have had many years of dealing with jerk coaches. Sometimes I wonder how they look at themselves in the mirror!:confused3

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Just thought I would pop back in and say that my husband is alive and well. I managed to get the house together, sorta. Myself is another matter entirely. It was either the house or me, so the house got the cleaning since she would be sitting in it and didn't have to be near me. I am sweaty and gross, but I'll have to deal with that after I pick up Joshua from school.

Also, I'm a little freaked out that I mentioned murder in my post numbered 666. Don't anyone start chanting REDRUM or anything like that. :scared1:

I'll be back later.

Glad you didn't have to knock him off!;)

Funny story, at least to me, just before we went to Disey for our trip last Christmas there was a post in the DVC board in the thread about VWL where someone mentioned that the long hallway of the Villa's reminded her of the hallway from The Shining. Well I had never even thought of it before but when we got there they gave me a room at the very end of that hall. Every time I walked through there by myself all I could think of was that movie. Very creepy indeed!

Well, I am through hogging the thread I am officially caught up!!!!!!! Gonna run in and have lunch now & then pick Ally up so she can ride her bike in the homecoming parade.

Talk to you all later.
