I am just coming on to say that after a flippin month I think the door issue is FINALLY settled. Settled. Not fixed. Just settled. Spent the afternoon on the phone with the insurance company. It was UPS holding things up, not Liberty Mutual. Breaking news, eh?

I have no prego pics. For me to have prego pics would mean giving up Seasonale, which is only the best ... drug ... ever! So, no newborn pics for me either. I enjoyed Tricia pics and can't wait to see everyone else's though! I suppose after 15 straight years of being (happily) on the pill, I should look into long-term damage, but my doc keeps prescribing them, and she would tell me if that were bad, right? Is this TMI? :rotfl:

Well, I have to go give Ali Cat a pill. Oh what fun. Alex is too frickin smart, and even though I swear I have given him the pill and he's swallowed it, I inevitably find it later. I have 2 good days (haven't found the spit up pills yet), and I fear my luck is about to run out. Male cats and bladder infections. Hmmpphhh.

I see that new counter on your siggie! :thumbsup2

My conversation w/ the resident 'weatherman' (a/k/a MetroWest) inspired me....was curious as to how many days :rotfl2: .....turns out...waaaaay toooo many :guilty:

I think we have just about decided on the June 22-26 for our next trip to USO/IOA! It looks like it will work with our schedules.

Just checked OUR dates....we are flying IN on the 26th :sad2: ....will just miss you guys :guilty:

Speaking of WDW, my sister e-mailed me and said that she wants one of these: http://psc.disney.go.com/eventservices/disneygallery/wdwkinkade2007.html
I think it's gorgeous and would like to have one myself! I wonder what they are going to cost....

uh.... $150! :scared1: No thanks.......

Oh, I almost forgot.....I wanted to ask you gals (and guys) what you think about this: I got an e-mail today saying that I had won a Disney vacation.

You know what they say.....sounds too good to be true, usually is..... :confused3

Tricia honey.....

Let me mention tho...you most definately look better blonde than that brunette :thumbsup2 ....And, it amazes me to see pix of your husband, he reminds me of a friend of mine's DH.... will have to dig a pic out and get DH to scan it for me so I can post it ;)

:rotfl: sorry.....couldn't resist..... :rotfl:

Back from soccer practice....ends at 7:30 and it's dark then :guilty: feel like it's time to go to bed...*sigh*..... Will tell this about practice, Robbie "the whiner kid" comes over to us (his Mom just dropped him off, didn't stay) and asks us if it was okay to 'chug' his drink. Said he usually brings 'water', but his Mom poured his soda in his thermos bottle :scared1: and when he asked another kid on the team, he didn't trust his answer.... We told him to sip it :rolleyes2 I cannot believe she didn't send water with him...SODA?!?!?! He did mention it was from McDonalds, and practice did start at 5:30, so maybe she was crunched for time...but still, they DO sell WATER at McDonalds :headache: (Maybe it's ME, but I just don't 'get' some people.....)

Other than that, DH and I had a good day together.....(note to self: play hookie together more often :rolleyes1 ) Installed motion detector on the light out back....now let's just hope it doesn't go on

:woohoo:  :woohoo:  YAY you!!! No shocker who was holdin' stuff up...... Glad to hear it! :goodvibes

I was thinkin' of tryin Seasonale...but was worried about long-term affects  Might try it down the road..... (Thought about the Norvo implant (whatever those sticks were placed in your arm)....glad I didn't do that...all the problems they had and couldn't get 'em out :scared: ) Don't want an "oops"! Was too "new" for me...however, I did hear/read that bein on the pill longterm is actually good....cuts risk of ovarian and breast cancer and another cancer that I can't remember  So, it's a good thing..... I still use 'em.....altho, I am waiting for DH to be 'ready' to take care of things. I squeezed a person outta me (with NO drugs I might add), the LEAST he can do, is take care of the "future" ;) .....And yes guys, sorry for grossin' ya out.... :rolleyes1

Good luck givin' cats pills.... hated doin' it to my kitty when she was sick..... never want to that again..... (& since we don't have any pets right now, chances are lookin' good :thumbsup2 )

Okay, one last day of being gone all day long. Got dad taken care of, came home & changed clothes then headed out to attend a seminar with my mother. I have been home long enough to read all I have missed. Gonna hit the sack now. I will try to catch up on posting to everyone tomorrow.

Night everyone!

Oh, I almost forgot.....MAC, are you all packed and ready to go?

nope, i need to buy some clothes first.
and, not ready to go yet....

worked today and couldn't play on the dis.
i won't go back to work until after october now.
long story.

playing ketchup on my emails tonight.
didn't think anyone would be here for the card game.
i imagine most of you are catching zzzzzzzzz's at this time.

Morning everyone!!!

I feel like I'm missing so much, I don' think I'll ever be able to catch up!

Last night was Open School Night:eek: ..yuck! But it's only once a year and it goes rather quickly. Just annoying to get home well past 10.

Gotta start putting up the VA pics up soon with a mini TR.

Have a great day everyone!

Mornin' homies!
alison - arrrrrgh! my youngest son when a toddler was out in public once and mangled the pirate mantra "shiver my timbers" into "shiver my ti...(what the cowboy cheerleaders show a lot of:laughing:)...we still tease him about that...not to offend, hope i don't pick up points.

That's too funny, Janet!

Jodie, I do not envy you on that! I know how cats are with medicine...liquid is easier! Why do the vets give pills for cats???
Just checked OUR dates....we are flying IN on the 26th :sad2: ....will just miss you guys :guilty:
Even if we do leave on the 26th, it will be our last park day and we plan to be there the whole day and start driving toward the gulf (for a night at the beach). Will you be in the parks at all on the 26th? We haven't etched our travel dates in stone (we have discussed being in the parks on the 23rd-27th also), so it could change. We drive to Orlando, so we're a little more flexible with our schedule.
uh.... $150! :scared1: No thanks......
The $150 is just for the breakfast...that doesn't include any artwork! That's what my sister and I would like to have! I would bet it's a lot more than $150!:scared1:
Oh, and congratulations on the big lottery win, Barb! That would be great to come up with an extra $396 that you didn't have plans for!
nope, i need to buy some clothes first.

Hey Mac!!! No wonder you haven't been around much...you better get busy and go shopping!

Well, I gotta go now, I'm gonna be late!

i'm tied up again today but just a quick stop by to say hey homies...

only problem of shopping for shorts and summer tops in chgoland is the fall items are out and have been since mid august......

thanks again for the good wishes, spent most of day arguing w/ex who now has his nose in the pot...started the day @ 5:30 a.m. woke up asked "why i'm causing trouble":confused3 he is insane; 10 years down the tubes with that fool

I hope things improve for you. What an icky situation. At least when my ex and I parted ways... we parted ways. I haven't seen or heard from him in almost 10 years. I don't even know where he is anymore. With no children to force us to have contact, there's never been any need. I can't imagine what that is like.

*i'll drink cheap red wine, asti and top shelf vodka, tequilla & rum:banana: ; usually no more than a few drinks couple times a month. I am the designated driver, DH has a CDL & his limit is 1/2 the normal driver's.

* this is one of my happy places:yay: , sure helps to keep me semi-sane; luvs the unconditional support:thumbsup2

I drink cheap wine, but I prefer white or blush/rose. I'm sure I would cause a wine connoisser a heart attack with some of the stuff I drink. No, I don't do Boone's Farm or Arbor Mist, but I frequently have Sutter Home or Berringers.

If we're talking liquor, I'm a rum gal. I can't do tequila. There was a country song a few years ago called "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off". The song could have been written about me. Rum, I can drink a ridiculous amount of and still handle it. I have a few tequila stories and most of them involve me losing articles of clothing in public. I don't drink it anymore. Ever.

I think it's a hoax. When I right clicked on link and clicked view source, I didn't recognize the site address. It was disneyvactrip4u dot com, not posting a link, cuz I don't want anyone to take a chance.

Always better safe than sorry. Anytime an offer is asking you to put your information INTO a website, instead of just listing your information back OUT to you, I automatically delete it. If I've thrown away a free prize, so be it. I can live with that.

Glad to hear the door situation is settled... well, at least progressing toward being settled.

I used to be on birth control pills way back in the late 80s. They worked great. When I came off of them, I didn't have a period on my own for almost 3 years. WTH??? I know we're doing the TMI thing again. Anyway, after Daniel was born, I tried to go on BC pills again. Either my body has changed, or the pills have changed. We went through months of pills, 3 different kinds of pills, where my body wasn't accepting the forced cycle. I'd still have my period whenever. Didn't matter if I was on "active" pills or not. I finally gave up on them.

I had hoped to work my way up to the Seasonale. The thought of only 4 periods a year was absolutely beautiful to me. I guess it's just not gonna happen. BUT, here's my question about Seasonale and/or any of the pills that keep your body from cycling. A woman is born with X number of eggs in her ovaries. If your body doesn't release them, does that prolong the years until menopause? Or do you menopause whenever you are gonna menopause... no matter if there are eggs left in the basket or not? I guess I need to start reading up on this stuff.

Tricia honey.....

Is that a "you are brave" or "you are incredibly crazy" for posting pregnancy pics. ;)

Yeah, I don't know why I did the brunette thing for a year. I think I had a hormone moment after I was pregnant or something. Maybe I thought it made me look more mature or mom-like? I dunno. I got over it.

DH is ready and willing to do the permanent birth control thing from his end of things. We checked into it and it is considered elective surgery on our current insurance plan, so we'd have to foot the bill. Yikes. That makes NO sense to me. A vasectomy is a heckuva lot cheaper than a pregnancy and delivery and/or child medical bills. :confused3

Okay, one last day of being gone all day long. Got dad taken care of, came home & changed clothes then headed out to attend a seminar with my mother. I have been home long enough to read all I have missed.

I hope things with the divorce(s) get settled soon Lori. That's a lot of turmoil for you to be handling at once. :grouphug:

Ooooo... vacation shopping is the BEST shopping!

And over a month off from work that has a long story attached? Is it a good story? Something we might see on CNN? popcorn::

Yay! A mini trippie to look forward to!!! :cool1:

I didn't envy my wife at all!! Three trips to the hospital, 11 days late, stopped dilating at 2cm, so they yanked him (Zak, our son) outta there!!!!! It was fascinating watching the C section! (I had aspirations as a teenager of being a doctor, so the gore factor doesn't bother me, I actually watched my own carpal tunnel surgery as well) It was cool to see all the inside parts to the female anatomy. I saw Sherry's ovaries, fallopian tubes, and asked if I could help stitch up the uterus, but, even though her OBGYN was cool, he wouldn't let me :confused3 Anyway, you woman are a lot braver than men, after witnessing the C section, I have no problem admitting that!!!!!

My father used to say that if men were in charge of having the babies, the human race would die. I remember him saying, "One man would get pregnant and go through labor/delivery. He would tell all his friends, and that would be it. No more babies."

i believes things are working out @ my house:banana: , at least i lost 5# this week.

barb - nice haul! I won the daily # the 1st time i ever played, haven't since - over 25 years:laughing: . I'm told they now sell landshark beer in TX, someday in PA i hope.

tricia - when i worked full time as a realtor I was site mgr for new housing development, actually sold home to DH & his new Mrs. she divorced well, paid cash:scared1: ; cashier's check actually.

mac - good luck on finding shorts, i had a hard time finding them early August for DS. Heck, out your way they're probably selling snow shovels.;)

i found 2 pairs of shorts at target today.
only took me 2 hours of searching.

so now i have a black and a blue with white stripes shorts to wear.
2 different sizes but they will work.

woo hoo, i'm on a roll...

Hi all!
It's been crazy busy here, but in a good way. Lovely day here in Maine today, feels like Indian Summer. :thumbsup2 I was able to sit outside in the sunshine with a book for a little while after work. :woohoo:

We are leaving for the airport tomorrow morning at the ungodly hour of 4:30. We're heading to check out another college (RIT) in Rochester NY. I'll be back on Sunday. Hope you all have a great weekend!

I'm checking in before I drop.

Joshua's dentist visit went well today. This was the makeup 6 month cleaning, since he freaked out the last time we were there. Didn't make so much as a whimper this time. Go figure. :confused3

We rushed from school, to the dentist, then back home, then back to school. This was the "Family Reading Night" at Joshua's school (which was really the Book Fair fundraiser in disguise). We had fun, ate a ridiculous dinner (hot dog, Cheetos, Little Debbie snack cakes, & Coke... can you say healthy?), played around in the classrooms, and, yes, succombed to the pressure and bought a freakin' book.

My sister had her appointment with the oncologist and the surgeon today. It wasn't great news. Because of the size of the growth, they are scheduling her for aggresive chemo (twice a week) in an attempt to shrink the mass before scheduling surgery. They will do a biopsy Monday and a whole bunch of tests Wednesday to see if the cancer has spread to any other part of her body. She will meet with the oncologist again next Thursday to discuss the results. One of the tests is a genetic screening which will determine if her body is simply prone to produce cancer cells. If it is determined that is the case, they are recommending a double mastectomy to reduce future risks. No matter what, she has a long and difficult road ahead of her. :sad1:

tricia:grouphug: keep yer chin up! can't imagine how your sis feels, hope God gives her the strength to face this head on.:wizard:

marci - really enjoyed your TR, so chock full of fun you must have needed a vacation to recuperate;)

laughed when i saw the pic of your son w/HP book...my DS drug the last one along when we went to Cedar Point this summer and insisted he had a bad stomach ache. We left park a few hours earlier than I had planned.

he made a quick recovery once we returned to hotel, spent the evening cozied up in bed with his read while ma & pa soaked in the hot tub. We did drag him out for a late bite to eat though.

Will have to look for those pics, never did post...jik anyone wants to see them.popcorn::
