Getting ready to post my 2026 Goals list, hopefully I can be a bit more productive than last year but last year was still a win! Anyway, here is my list of goals with a bit of explanation if anyone cares. I also encourage others to post their goals in this thread for fun, encouragement, and/or accountability. Looking forward to see what can be accomplished this year!
Financial
Tokyo Disney Vacation

This is a retirement present to myself, just 3.5 more years so trying to save the money now and not worry about paying for it later
ABD Costa Rica

We would love to do this but we need to save money first, it was on the list last year but did not get a single dollar towards it but it was a major stretch goal as it will be this year as well
WDW Vacation

This is the base for our yearly vacation the rest of the cost usually comes from rebates, reward points, or found money, etc...
Scandinavian Cruise

This is a bit higher priority that cost rica and I did save a bit towards it last year but not enough, need to see what I can do with it this year
Misc Travel

Upped this amount from 500 to 1K because we took an unanticipated extra trip last year, last minute decent deal but the extras were a bit of an extra expenses

This is a fund for some land or something else in retirement, this has not actually been completely funded the last few years, so we will try to do better. Also this is where the money comes from for those unexpected home repairs (water leak, or other things like that)
Dog/Vet Fund

Need to keep money in a dog fund for those unanticipated vet visits especially with one dog that needs teeth cleaning every year and the addition of a second dog to out household
Remodel Fund
0 / 3000
Trying to save up the money to finish remodling the house before retirement, left is the kitchen, downstairs bathroom, and office
Tree Removal Fund
0 / 2000
I now have a tree that needs to be removed in the next year, of course it is close to power lines and the house so not something I can/will do myself
Driveway Resealing
0 / 750
Should have done last year but put it off an extra year due to shuffling some funds around for the new car
Cut Discretionary Spending 10%
This did not work well last year with increased costs on most things but will try again this year
Eat out less than once per week

Almost succeded in this last year so going to try it again this year
Run Annual Credit Reports

Read 40 Books

Love doing this goal, it is easy to say I wlll do it later but in reality if done when needed/wanted it would only take a few minutes

Depends if wife gets approval for her annual conference

Get rid of more broken/unused/uneeded stuff. Have been working hard the last 18 months or so of using stuff up before and then considering if it needs to be replaced or not

Insulate water pipes
Remove Sat Dish
Replace missing aluminum roof trim (x2)
Fix or replace roof awning for back door
Add new circuit for glass kiln

Reinsulate the basement (60 months)
Replace Basement windows (60 months)
Remodel office (new sheetrock, new electric, new trim, new flooring, new electric heater) (48 months)
Remodel Kitchen (new sheetrock, new electric, new trim, new flooring, new cabinets, new backsplash tile, new electric heaters, new sink, new countertop) (48 months)
Remodel Bathroom (new sheetrock, new electric, new exhaust fan, new walk in shower w/ tile, new heater, new sink, new flooring, new trim) (48 months)
Mortgage payoff (48 months)
Remove Window Shutters from entire house (60 months)
