Hi Everyone!
I'm back from Portofino and wishing I was still there. We had such a wonderful time!
Unfortunately, 1st day back to work today, and my purse was stolen from under my desk. I lost my house keys, jaguar key, license, cell phone, credit cards, check book, $400 in leftover vacation money that I was going to deposit after work and my DH's digital camera. I'm just sick with worry. DH is right now changing the locks on the doors. I think I got everything cancelled in time. Two hours after the theft, I got a call from the detective telling me that a man tried to cash one of my checks at my bank. These things are not supposed to happen in Maine...
I'll post some pictures from the trip later when I'm not so upset.

I'm glad you had a good time on your trip. That's terrible about your purse being stolen! I hope they catch that guy who tried to cash your check! Do you work somewhere that there are a lot of people in and out? It would really hurt to find out that a co-worker did it!

Sharon: welcome back! Glad you had a good time. Can't believe someone would be that cruel to take your purse. There are some real shady people in this world! I once knew a 6th grader that stole his teacher's purse and tried to change the number on her credit card! (I live in NY)

Our high yesterday was 86. Today is suppose to be the same. We're finally out of the upper 90s and low 100s.

I heard one of the local weather people say that this August could very well be the hottest August for our area ever... at least since they began keeping records which was, what, the late 1800s?

That is terrible Sharon! What a way to come home from vacation. It takes time for that violated feeling to go away, but I hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi Sharon. Im so sorry to hear you purse got stolen! And I hope you have a copy of the photos in the camera somewhere. Good luck on getting the scum caught and keep us updated. My house got robbed while we were asleep a few months ago. They took 2 TVs, DVD player, XBOX, £3000 cash, car keys (but no car), 2 IPODs, TAG watch, a safe and more odds and ends including all the tv remotes and for some reason, our AA battery charger!? Random huh! Was scary because mum heard them downstairs so she banged the floor and that's what scared them away. Im so glad no-one went downstairs- who knows what they may have had as weapons!

Yesterday was kinda crazy around here...but, i was reading and keeping up with ya all....(just didn't post)....

Welcome back Lori and Sharon (sux about yer purse...hope everything works out okay for you)...... and yes...just days till Penny goes!

Tracie....gotta love PECO, eh?? They stink, but i know you're stuck! ...and just think....winter is comin' (gotta call about heating oil today ) ...see Todd...quit complainin'....

Tricia....sorry bout all the poo problems...but, i shared your story w/ DH while at soccer practice last nite and he got quite the chuckle....

Oh, and speakin' of soccer practice....have I mentioned i'd love to strangle the one little kid "robbie" on our team ....even DH wants to choke him....here's a for instance...they are running "passing" drills. He whines (literally) "don't use MY ball"...since the coach didn't have enuf balls, (sorry, no pun intended ), they were using his ball. Coach asks Robbie what the matter is and he replies...er, rather, whines, (I don't think he can talk, he "whines" constantly) he doesn't want anyone using his ball. So, coach tells him not to bring his ball then.... .....duh! (which is the same thing DH & I were thinking!) ...so, Mom puts his ball in the car and THAT is done....and I think therein lies his problem...no Dad. DH said this kids whines like a little girl and this kid is gonna be in some trouble when he gets older. Somebody is gonna get sick of him and pop him in the nose once....or twice..... a shame really, but, we're stuck w/ him on our team this year. oh, and I remember mentioning him before, an a homie (Alison was it?) mentioned he might be this 'star' player....ummm...no. During a scrimmage, he yelled he was open and one of our guys passed him the ball. Well, he stood there waiting for the ball to come to him (which, they practice NOT doing) and the other team intercepted and he started whining....again uugghhh...... ok...done now

I was reading the links posted to the "other" side...about the dirty bathrooms/WDW in general.....it's okay for them to talk about it, but if we do, we get flamed ....and, I also read everyones (& Tricia's) defense to the guy who posted how wonderful his first trip to UO was...on the "other" side.... whatever is in that pixie dust, i want some...cuz man, it is STRONG stuff!

Thanks Katie, they at least could have left me the car key. I had to get a ride home! Its so strange being on a cash only basis. It's going to take 2 weeks for the new debit card and checks.

Hi Penny,
I work in the small town that I live in. A small real estate office. I was upstairs eating lunch, there was one other person in the office at the time and she let someone off the street use the phone on my desk, and than left him alone for a minute. Not the brightest idea.

That is terrible Sharon! What a way to come home from vacation. It takes time for that violated feeling to go away, but I hope you are feeling better soon.

She always wants me to move her 40 gallon aquarium so the fish doesn't get "sick"and i'll shove the cat in the carrier with my other free hand, while i try to avoid his wicked talons.

sure, only after 4 people said they would testify against him and the Atlanta team wants their 28 million signing bonus back!

here is my view of what will happen: between now and sentencing he will be a model citizen.
so he might get a couple of months jail time.....
there is now way he will get the full 6 years maximum.
i can hope and pray, but it aint gonna happen-betcha he is out by next preseason shopping his A&@ around for a new team.
