Sharon - wow, really sorry to hear about your purse!

Many moons ago, DH & I were in the military and went down to Fayetteville, NC (Ft. Bragg) to buy a house for our upcoming transfer there. We bought a house one day and that night our car was stolen! And we'd done a bunch of Christmas shopping and yes, DH's wallet was in the car.

But here was the kicker - even though DH & I were both Army officers, making a pretty good amount between us, no rental car company would lend us a car to get back to Virginia since neither of us were 25 (he was about 2 months shy of it) and we were dropping the car off in a different location. Our realtor ended up co-renting one with us so we could get back home!

Having learned our lesson, we had an alarm system put in our house we'd bought before moving in. The first weekend we moved our stuff in, but had gone back to Virginia to out-process, we had our house broken into. Luckily the alarm scared them off and the neighbors called the police. Way to welcome you to a new city!

Anyways, I'm not having a great day here. Sunday my contacts were bothering me, but I ignored it - figured it was from camping and not doing a great job of cleaning them. Yesterday they were REALLY bothering me and I had to take them out in the evening (I'm one of these people who NEVER wears my glasses - they're about 10 years old and I can't see that well with them). Cleaned them really good last night only to wake up several times during the night to discover that my eyes were caked over and icky - yes, pink eye! Just what I need! I started using one of my kids' old drops that expired a year ago. The boys all coincidentally have eye exams today and I'm going to beg and see if there's any way they'll give me a prescription for drops while I'm there. Wish me luck!

I was reading the links posted to the "other" side...about the dirty bathrooms/WDW in general.....it's okay for them to talk about it, but if we do, we get flamed ....and, I also read everyones (& Tricia's) defense to the guy who posted how wonderful his first trip to UO was...on the "other" side.... whatever is in that pixie dust, i want some...cuz man, it is STRONG stuff!

I can laugh about the poop now. It wasn't funny yesterday while I was dealing with it... or for the first few hours after... but now, yeah it was funny.

Good luck on dealing with the whiner. Sounds like a child that has never had to share or really had his behavior corrected. One would think that he would be old enough that he would find it embarrassing to whine in front of boys his own age. Maybe in another year or two? If not, he is definitely in line for the nose pop you spoke of.

BTW, my post on the guys thread stopped *most* of the flaming. There's already someone today that started up the "you're just mad 'cause you didn't win something in the YOAMD promotion" stuff again. Sigh. Didn't I already make fun of that?

here is my view of what will happen: between now and sentencing he will be a model citizen.
so he might get a couple of months jail time.....

Yes, you will note that the NFL Commissioner has suspended him "indefinitely" not "forever"... and there are all these sports celebrities coming to his defense. I've heard, "They kill dogs in other countries. In some cultures they eat dogs. What's the big deal?" Ummm... last time I checked... Vick was raised in THIS culture and is living in THIS country and should, therefore have some idea about OUR rules. Or, "People hunt animals all this time, don't they? What's the difference?" Ummm... hunting game with a license is not the same as BREAKING THE LAW.

I'm afraid Penny has it about right. He'll play the media game... do minimal time... and play football again. As long as I get to "boo" him wearing something other than an Atlanta jersey...

Hi all- just checking in.....
Haven't been able to get here in a few days. I think I have at least 10 pages to catch-up on
Can someone give me a small synopsis of what I missed here lately?
The only thing I remember reading was about RVGals's pics and weekend with her DH at hte Doubletree Hotel. Nice pics, RVGal


I have had a LOT to do. Many emails to my kids' special service teacher. Catching up with emails with other people, etc.
School started here last Wed. and I have been busy since
Doing lots and lots of paperwork.

Last Friday, got the stupid garage wall done, the garage wall that borders my neighbor. Had to go by my neighbor's schedule . At least that's over with. Phew!
LAst Sat., went to the music instrument store and did the clarinet rental for DS. He is going to try to play the clarinet, first time with an instrument, other than a recorder. This is for beginning 5th grade band.
On Sunday, we went to our pool in our condo complex, as this might be the last time we may use the pool for the summer at our subdivision.
Yest was pretty busy for me.

My kids have homework already I hate getting back in that homework schedule again, as Chrissy HATES homework! Just a pain!

Hey everyone! I woke up this morning to a broken water line somewhere up the road so have had no water today to take a shower. The great thing about that is that since I can't go anywhere I have now had the opportunity to skim over all 100 pages that accumlated since I left for our trip.

DD is still not getting any child support and we are going on 6 months since she made him leave. Don't know what that lawyer has been paid for, she sure hasn't done her job.

Mac & Rose my sister will be attending a trade show in Chicago the end of September. Can you give me some ideas on where she can stay? She doesn't stay high end & wants something fairly cheap but in a good area. The show is at the Navy Pier but she doesn't mind driving a ways to get there for a more reasonable price. Any suggestions?

Beans are doing well - mid bean started skool today eldest bean starts tomorrow (double ) and littlest beano starts after the holiday but has an orientation tomorrow afternoon!!

The report from the mid bean today was all good all of her friends that she had when she was at the public school before cam up andpractically tackled her - it was really great!

I have talked with Kait, and told her to not let the little things bother her - she has too much going FOR her. so we shall see

Well the hardest thing has been keeping my mouth shut until all of the court proceedings are over. Once that happens though all He double l is going to break loose on him and his mother.

The jerk even went so far as to have the electricity, that was in his name, turned off without letting DD (who had paid it in advance) know. She came home from her first day reporting back to her teaching job to find the power shut off. She called immediately to find out what was going on and they said he had called to have it shut off but didn't tell them that someone was still living there. It took two days for them to turn it back on so she had to stay with friends. He has since had a contempt order filled against him for that stunt.

There is much, much more but I will just get madder the more I think about it.
