darkie, came back as i forgot to end my post to you with a
and one from the homies here...:grouphug:

i woke up early this morning, feed the cats at 6 and then went back to bed.
i go to curves and i never drink coffee until after i weigh in each month.
i figured the only way i could be civil to anyone in my house was to ignore them until i had my usual amount of coffee

went to do the weigh in and measurements then drove to mcdonalds for lots of cups of coffee. then i went back and did my exercise.

i am just not me without the coffee........

motherfletcher, so good to see you drop in here!
you have been missed.

homie jodie, good to see you also.
now that we know you are going to have lot of free time, we expect you at noon each day here....:rotfl:

i always say the best food served is the food i don't have to cook.

hope your family gathering goes super!

ps: use paper plates

Thanks! :)
I had not gone to my Six Flags for a few yrs too, until starting back last yr.
I went for a good period of time in the '80s and into the '90s. Stopped going from 1995 until 2006. Alot of line cutting and abuse of it observed back in the early and mid '90s. The line cutting bothered me alot back then, so stopped going. The park was dirty back then too, garbage all over (in the early '90s). Then I got pregnant with my twins in 1996, so hadn't gone back to Six Flags since until last yr. Seems to be more kid-friendly now, with all the newer kiddie areas :thumbsup2 The park looks alot cleaner too.

I still remember Old Chicago...that's how old I am. I remember going to SFGA when it was Marriott's Great America, the American Eagle was my first coaster. I always likes the huge spider they put on the AE for Fright Fest.

we stopped going after Raging Bull opened, the park went way downhill.

Hey all!....Okay, I'm in Jodie's backseat....QUIK fly by....

DM and MF...I too am so sorry to hear about your 4legged family... I had to let my kitty go a year ago, and I still don't have another... it was the WORST (but best for her) thing in the whole world and I still miss her to this day...it's not easy, but it will get easier as the days go on ;)

Jodie...have a great party...and i agree, the best meal is one I don't have to cook or clean up after....and take mac's advice...use paperplates! :thumbsup2

Rose....your pictures are wonderful...looks like you all had a great day (weather AND fun wise)..i've never been to that park....looks like a nice, clean family place. I'm glad you guys got to have a day of fun since all this "stuff" w/ your DH....still sending mummydust....

Tracie...for heaven's sake! Go to the freakin' doctor already! You dont' want an infection and be laid up and have the Beans wait on you and.....wait a sec! Maybe not such a bad idea :scratchin ...... Seriously, it'll be hot enough this week to use your pool.....heck, I might come down and use it too  but, seriously....get that wound looked at...it doesn't sound good....ya never know what bacteria are floating around on surfaces... :scared:

mac and TD...i too remember Old Chicago...vaguely....remember it as a girl :rolleyes1 I also remember not having much fun there, but maybe cuz my Mom was always draggin' me around for "adult" stuff :headache: if you have any pix, i'd like to reminisce ;)

Reason I'm cruisin' w/ Jodie today is this: 1:30 got done work, came home (after running 1 errand) at 2:10 and picked up the boy. Threw him in the shower (he was at daycamp) and while he was in the shower, the bug guy came to spray for mnthly maintence. He's giving me my bill, my phone is ringing (which is weird, cuz nobody ever calls our house phone :confused3 ) and I'm waiting on the cable guy to come check our pedstal out back, which they insist they NEED to come in for  ( I know they don't) AND i have to have Bubba to karate class by 4pm. Grabbing a pizza after class, getting home about 5pm, woofing down pizza, getting him changed and getting to soccer practice by 5:30 :faint: Practice runs till 7:30...then i get to come home, check in w/ you guys, clean up a bit, do dishes to run dishwasher, make lunch for DH for tomorrow and get to bed. So, THAT is why I am hitchin' w/ Jodie and will chek ya's later tonite :thumbsup2

Good dinners to everyone :goodvibes

Okay, guys, my feelings are hurt. I keep stopping by from Orlando to say hi and no one says hi back to me! :sad1: We're having a great time here despite the crowds and heat. Enjoying our house a lot, but spending most of the time at the parks. This week is Disney park-intensive. We did:

Sat - MK morning/afternoon and shopping & unpacking in the evening
Sun - AK morning/afternoon and Epcot evening
Mon - Epcot ALL day, from ropedrop until after Illuminations. Did the Seas Aqua tour in the afternoon there.
Tues - MGM morning and BB evening (awesome time to go to avoid the heat, crowds, and storms)
Wed (today!) - MK am/early afternoon.

Right now DS12, DS15 and DH are golfing - hoping to get some holes in before the afternoon storms hit! DS14 and I are relaxing at the house and catching up with homies here and at TGM! (And waiting for the call to come get them when it starts to rain!).

We never caught up with Lori. Think as soon as I finish this email, I'll check her schedule and try to call her again. Playing phone tag for now! We head to Universal Sat-Mon, so any advice will be welcomed!

central IL years ago, we always spent a lot of time in the Chicago area. I remember when Gurnee Mills was just being built. we need to visist again, I miss Chicago.

I still have fond memories of my wife puking the first time she rode AE backwards.

Hi all!
Glad you all like the pics at SF Great America :thumbsup2

Mac, Tropical Depression, and Bubba's mom- I too remember Old Chicago. Went there once or twice, when I was 9 or 10 yrs old. Went on a couple of rides(as I remember the whole place was indoors.). I believe Old Chicago was in Bolingbrook or Romeoville, Il?

Tropical- I also went to Great America when it was owned by Marriott, back in 1976 and so on. I'll have to find a link to a website I have of how Great America used to look in the early days!

OK, here is the website I have of Marriott's Great America (before SixFlags took over). I don't know if you can click on it or just paste it on your browser.
It is a cool website! :thumbsup2

Bubba's mom- :scared1: :scared: of your day today.

Alexandnessa, Bubba's mom, Mac, and everyone else- thanks for asking about DH's job search. He's still searching. He went to a job fair yesterday in the area. Went to interview this morning with the recruiter he met yest at the job fair. Another recruiter called this afternoon from a different place and DH is interviewing with him tomorrow morning. A recruiter called this morning that DH met with a couple of weeks ago. No job from that recruiter yet, but he called b/c he couldn't get a hold of one of DH's former supervisors to get a personal reference from. I got a hold of this former supervisor this morning and guess the recruiter was able to ge a hold of him finally.
I think DH has had interviews with almost 15 different recruiters in the past month :scared: It's alot of recruiters, not producing much of anything yet, but DH keeps plugging away.
DH sent his resume and applied recently to McDonald's corporate for a certain position that is open. McDonald's corporate is located in Oakbrook, IL.
My DS's cub scout leader has worked part-time for the past 20 yrs at McDonald's corporate in the insurance dept. She had let us know about this certain position that's open and she was able to forward my DH's resume
to the HR guy that's handling the interviews for the position. DH hasn't gotten a call yet from McD's corporate, but hoping to. It's nice when you have some kind of connections for a great company like that. The benefits are great at McDonald's :thumbsup2 It would be nice to get discounted Disney hopper passes too, what full-time employees are offered there as one of the benefits!
So any prayers, pixie dust, mummy dust, etc. are appreciated still, thanks!!

Ok, gotta go.
Have a great day everyone!
PS. Mac- I'm so glad I went to Great America on Saturday, b/c it's so hot now!

Marciemi- Hi there :wave2:
Glad you and the fam are having a great time! :woohoo:
Looking forward to any pics and TR when you come back!
Hope you can meet up with Lori soon!
It's about 93 degrees here in the northwest burbs of Chicago right now!
Supposed to be even hotter tomorrow here! yikes! :scared1:
Have a great one and thanks for checking in :woohoo:

:wave2: Hi Marcie!!

Sounds like you guys are having a great time. Our high temps are back into the low 90s again. That's plenty hot enough for me.

Looking forward to your report and pics... :rolleyes1

Hi Marcie....loving the live trip reports. Have a little while yet before my next trip (Sept 28). Is that Wand down yet?????(off the epcot ball). Are the Contemporary DVC Villas built yet? (They've sure been playing around in the sand for a LONG time...must be looking for asbestos!)

Just got the bid for taking down the beetle-killed pines along my driveway.
$7200. OUCH. But I'm just one lightening bolt away from burning up the house AND the Wilderness behind it. Damn bugs.

i'm originally from downstate illinois

lori.......will she ever find marcie?
marcie.......will she play phone tag until she leaves to get on the plane?

Bubbasmom, I read your trip report. I dunno how you remember everything that you did, especially since it was in June! Kudos to you, my friend :thumbsup2

I just ordered a laptop last night (yay!) so I'll try and do some kind of 'real-time' TR when I'm away.

No promises though! ;)

Hey everybody! :wave:Just popping in to say hello!

Marcie, I hope you and your family are enjoying your trip! I hope you catch up with Lori and it would be cool for you to run into Gemma too!

Tracie, love the new siggie! :)

Barb, hang in there girl! I know how a busy schedule is! It really keeps you running!

DM and MF, I'm so sorry about your fur babies! I know how you are feeling. It hasn't been terribly long since we lost our kitty, Felix. He was at the vet, just been neutered and passed away. I was in shock when the vet called me at work. I boo-hooed and some people just didn't understand.

Rosemarie, I love your pics from Six Flags! It looks like you had a great time!

Mac, Hey homie! I hope all is well with you and I hope your boys are doing better!

Jodie, I hope your dinner goes well! Have fun!

Thanks guys - I was feeling left out of the cool group!

Didn't get around to calling Lori. The guys played some miserable golf (weather particularly). We tried to go get them when they called after the 14th hole and gave up, but unfortunately, I haven't done any of the driving this trip and the mapquest directions were WRONG so it took us an hour to get there while they waited in the rain. Always nice when your directions tell you to get off a freeway at the same exit you got on. And it's a toll road so we got to pay $3 total to drive around, turn around, and finally get off where we got on and couldn't ever find the exit!

Up tomorrow by 5 to go do surfing lessons at TL. Hoping the rain goes away by then - it's still raining. This isn't the afternoon storm thing since it's been raining since about 4 o'clock!

Mac - I probably missed your call out as I tried to play catch up on the 15 pages I missed! We are staying at RPR, but do still plan to get to the parks early but are hoping to not have to stand in too many regular lines!

My mom said it was 95 in Detroit and I saw mid 90's for much of WI, so I guess we're not missing the cool refreshing weather back home. Actually, it's really hot in the mornings here, but once it rains, the temps seem to stay in the upper 70's to around 80 which isn't that bad. Other than at MGM the heat hasn't really been bothering us that much. Crowds are another story. Using all my DIS and TGM strategies doesn't keep us ahead of everyone when so much seems to be down!

Sun Everest was down for the first half hour which of course puts a kink in your plans for the day. Monday Test Track was down most of the day. Tuesday we got on our elevator at Tower of Terror, buckled in, doors closed, opened back up again and we were told the elevator was broken. Had to wait while they tried to fix it and finally put us back in line for a different elevator. Again when this is first thing, that extra half hour really makes a difference. Beginning to feel like we're jinxing things! At least things ran smoothly at the MK today!

DS15 finished HP book 7, I read the ending, and DH is threatening us not to tell him anything. Meanwhile, DS12 finally decided to read book 1 and finished it and is desperate to go on to book 2 (which of course we don't have with us). Called Walmart and they have it in stock so maybe we can go pick it up tomorrow after surfing, doing TL, and going to Disney Quest. Yes, it's going to be an exhausting day so I'm going to bed now!

I know what you mean...it's still sprinkling at my house! Hopefully, the weather will be ok for the surfing lessons.

Glad you are having a great time in Orlando Marciemi! You have to tell me how the surfing is! I want to do that sooo badly! And lots of pics please!

marcie, good to hear from you again.
the breakdowns at disney wreck the schedule for time doesn't it.

i have had that happen to me.
and i don't like it.

metro, i have been hearing about the rain. your area is in need of it but is it pouring more now?

Kstarfish, have you made any more of the crafts?
did you list them on ebay?

hope you make lots of money on them!
