Whoa! Big goings on here ... someone was just arrested right in front of my house. I live in a small town where I went to high school with most of the cops, so this is a big deal!

First it was just one cop car with lights on and everything and it pulled a car over. I grabbed a beer, opened up my window, and watched the whole thing unabashedly from my house! When the cop told the driver to get out of his car, I knew he was in trouble. Then he patted the guy down and put him in the back of his cop car, and then 3 back up cop cars came, complete with lights. I was straining to hear what was going on, but I was just a bit too far away. Then the car with the arrested guy and another back-up car drove off, and the other 2 cop cars waited for a tow truck for the arrested guy's car, and the tow truck just left. I waited to see if I recognized the towed car cuz I couldn't see its driver, but I didn't. I tried to wake up Mike to no avail, but I did try to take pics so he wouldn't miss the whole thing. I'm guessing a drunk driving arrest? I think the cop made him take some sobriety tests, but unfortunately I couldn't really see that since my view was obstructed by a tree. Bummer. That was my exciting night tonight ... being a complete busy body!

Live entertainment.popcorn::

When the kids were little a drug dealer (my guess) was turning around in my driveway when an unmarked pickup load of SWAT guys blocked him in and all exited the truck with guns drawn all screaming the same message, "Get the f*** out of the car. Show us your hands!" I gathered up the kids and ran for the house. They proceeded to tear this guys car apart in my driveway. They even removed the seats. It was live entertainment with an element of danger.:scared1:

Wow, beer and a show :rotfl: !

When I was young, my father worked midnights (still does actually) and went outside to the car. He started it, realized he had left something in the house, and came back in. In that maybe 60 seconds, a drunk driver plowed into it and pushed it into the telephone pole!! Luckily, we have a retired cop who lived across the street, saw the accident, and then jumped in his car and chased him down. Obviously he was arrested.

Speaking of commiting crimes (sort of). My brother found out about this yesterday- it's really bad in my books!!

A guy in my brothers year (there's only about 100 in each year) stole a BMW X5, joyrided it around the place, then smashed it into a Porche Boxter! He's now in Scotland on the run from the police. The guy's only 16!! (Over here we can't even learn to drive until we are 17). Isn't that crazy!

Wow you guys...what stories! Like "live" Cops!

Starfish...you are really lucky to have your Dad today...the "BIG" man was definately looking after him that day!! ;)

Jodie....is there anything in the paper today?

My story isn't quite as good as everyone elses: Just this past winter, we were in the house (at night, after dinner--so, it's dark out) and we heard a loud, BOOM! Of course, DH was like "what was that?" I said I didn't know, but it sounded like a transformer blowing (we were expecting a storm). So, went on with what we were doing. A couple hours later, we heard it again. Now I know it's not a transformer, so we start to look out the windows around the house. We notice out back to the side of the field that is behind our house, there is a house w/ all sorts of spotlights on it. So, DH goes outside (to take the trash out) and stops to listen. Apparently, some guy on that street barricaded himself inside his house and wouldn't come out. This had been going on for a few hours. I'm still not sure what the "boom" was we heard, but they managed to coax him out of the house and you could hear "keep your hands up" "keep walking back to my voice" and then you heard all this commotion (I guess when they tackled the guy?) It was really odd because we live between two cities and the only way to get to where we live is a major highway...you just can't walk TO it. It's a quiet area and nothing like that ever happens around here. There was a small blurb in the paper about it, I don't think he had a gun or hostage, so I think he may have been a bit crazy........
So, my story not as good......

Going to work today, going to be a cool weekend here....upper 70's/low 80's for Saturday and Sunday :guilty: I like the summer heat..... how many days till vacation? :guilty:

he-he, those much younger siblings can be very helpful:thumbsup2

i'm lobbying for the title of world's meanest mom:banana: , some of my house rules for my boys:

*NO girls EVER in the bedroom; DIL still hasn't seen my son's old BR (of course it's currently occupied by my youngest)

*No PDAs in my house until you're married, then you can break in your own.

*my boys weren't permitted to drive until they got a part-time job & paid for their car insurance and gas

*other than school-related events, no running around on school nights

*Midnight curfew on weekends, even in high school

do i win?

of course, i discretely make sure there is a supply of protection in the medicine chest;) i'm not that stupid.

Good for you!! Mind if I put your rules in place at my house? Son is only 12 right now and girls don't matter to him yet...I have a feeling that will all change this year (7th grade) I especially like #1 & #3

Happy Friday Everyone!

Joshua was so happy as we drove to Kindergarten today. He was singing, "It's Friday... Ice Cream Day... It's Friday... Treasure Chest Day... It's Friday... Feed Mr. Munch Day..."

Daniel even tried to join in on the singing. It was a fun and noisy trip.

I'll try to catch up on all I've missed later, but for now I've really, really, really got to go finish cleaning. (Note that I've upgraded again from really, really.)

i figured it all out.

i know i am going to win this one!

bubba's mom has to be either 29 or just turned 30

I heard on the radio this morning that the federal government is 12 weeks behind getting passports out--you can pay $300 to get it sped up (3weeks) You are smart to plan ahead--you'll get yours in plenty of time (I'd check up on them tho!)

bubba, mr mac filed for his passport in mid february.
