that's who i was thinking of!

Hope to someday, but have never been to HHN (does MNSSHP count lol) - i was a giant Minnie Mouse - now THAT was scary:rotfl:

DS finally cleaned his room & found an old videotape from the Travel Channel that has a program about the haunted houses; plan on watching it soon.

we've very big on halloween at my house, do up the whole front yard complete w/soundtrack from HM cranked up and several fog machines, etc.. will have to post pics.
You've GOT to make a trip for HHN one year...You will LOVE it! :thumbsup2

Okay, I know a bunch of you guys have or have had teens. Can you help give me guidelines on the whole dating (and more specifically making out  ) thing?

Hi Marci
Whew thats a tough one. I can tell you what works for us, most of the time! :lmao:
Around here most of the kids are not allowed to date until 16, and than they can only go out on double dates. Also, they are not allowed over to each others houses unless they are in a group....so this cuts down on the alone time. But, you know, no matter how strict you are, they will find ways to be alone!
When my son would have a new girlfriend, we sat both of them down and gave them the ground rules, and what would happen if they broke those rules.
A quick kiss and a hug were alright, holding hands ok, entwining together watching TV on the floor or couch was a no no.
I'm glad to see her father gave out a punishment, and not just yelling at them. Are you at all friendly with her parents? Maybe you could have a chat with her mom and set some ground rules.
Hope I helped a little bit. It was much harder on me when my DD22 was a teen. I had many a sleepless night, praying she wouldnt get pregnant.

todd, i'll call you in sick.........
what's the number?

well, when one of my sons had a chick over, i would send todd,, my youngest son, to spend time with them. he followed brother/s everywhere.

todd could never keep a secret.

Thanks for the well wishes for the trip!

Keisha: We have already gotten a call from Dawn, who has signed us up for the "VIP" check-in...If we have any problems, we should get in contact with her....yea, right.....

Metro: Happy Early Birthday since I won't be here!!! :bday:

Mac: You have a birthday coming up???

Okay, now I am frightened about what I have to face in 10 years or so... :scared:

Not having a teen yet, I don't think I can help much. I can tell you that when I was a teen, my parents didn't allow me to "date"... "go steady"... anything that remotely sounded like a one-on-one relationship until I was 16. I could go to a school dance or party, but even though I had an official date, the trip to the dance was made in a group situation. Mom was definitely a "saftey in numbers" kinda gal. I was not allowed to be in any situation where I would be alone with a male until I was at the end of my Junior year in high school.

If my dad had caught me kissing a boy and that boy his hand under my shirt (front, back, side, whatever) he would have gone through the roof. I shudder right now to think of it. I would probably still be grounded.

I can't even begin to imagine what my parenting life will be like in the hormone years. Ugh. :sad2:

Sorry I can't be of any more help!

Hey guys - hope everyone is doing well.

OK - I know you all are sick of hearing about this, but I just wanted to drop in and tell you all that the People magazine people are down the street at Jennifer's house right now! They're doing the interview and some "before" pictures tonight, then tomorrow they're taking her shopping and I assume will then do the "after" pictures.

She thinks she'll be on the TODAY show on Sept. 14th, but that's not confirmed yet. I'll let you all know for sure as soon as I find out!

WOOOHOOOOO!! James Phelp commented me on bebo!!! Gotta love the Bebo man!!!

he-he, those much younger siblings can be very helpful:thumbsup2

i'm lobbying for the title of world's meanest mom:banana: , some of my house rules for my boys:

*NO girls EVER in the bedroom; DIL still hasn't seen my son's old BR (of course it's currently occupied by my youngest)

*No PDAs in my house until you're married, then you can break in your own.

*my boys weren't permitted to drive until they got a part-time job & paid for their car insurance and gas

*other than school-related events, no running around on school nights

*Midnight curfew on weekends, even in high school

do i win?

of course, i discretely make sure there is a supply of protection in the medicine chest;) i'm not that stupid.

keisha, you beat me....

i just made my sons write down the phone messages i would get if i couldn't get to the phone.

well, i did have some priorities.

My mom still wouldn't allow me and the DF in my bedroom even to just watch a movie! And I'm almost 25!!!!

His bedroom is a different story....:scratchin
