trip report started...be forewarned......it is boring....
it is okay if you dont read it......

I also watch Damages, I like it, but sometimes the jumping back and forth between past and present can make it a little confusing.

WAKE UP, WAKE UP, HOMIES!!!

GOOD MORNING!

mac, I watch Damages too. I am pretty into so far! How are you liking it?

i think last night really starting getting into the theme and development of it.
the first 3 episodes were too much background stuff.
i'm into this show big time.

I also watch Damages, I like it, but sometimes the jumping back and forth between past and present can make it a little confusing.

mike, i noticed that also in the first month of the show.
last night wrapped it up for me pretty well.
i was glad ted danson's character was not in last nights episode.
last week he was over powering and i didn't focus on ellen much then.

i'll be missing 2 weeks of episodes when i go to orlando.
maybe i can catch it there

We've been together so long we can look at each other and tell what the other is going to say. Like (you guys will appreciate this!): The other day he said, "I think it's going to do the trick," and at the same time, we looked at each other and said, "I THINK IT'S GONNA WORK THIS TIME!":rotfl2:

I know that line :woohoo:

Me & DH are exactly the same way.... EXACTLY..... I just tell him it proves we was meant to be married ;)

Mornin' all...thought day was off to good start, apparently not. Work "issues".....have to go home and come back... gggrrrrr.....

Penny....are you at work "resting" doing your trippie?? ;) I know how it feels to go to work to rest :thumbsup2 I am looking forward to your TR and your pix! :yay: (ya DO have pix, right??)

raven...didja win big at cards last night?? ;)

Okay...better get some work dun! :rolleyes2 :guilty:

ok, which wedding.......i have more than one

I am not posting pics from my first wedding. It was 1987 and I had the big hair and frou-frou dress to prove it.

9.gif

i was teaching school that day.
what were you doing?

I was about 7 months pregnant with my first. I had just finished a lovely bout of morning sickness (I was plagued with it through both pregnancies) and I turned on the tv while I was trying to convince my body to accept a piece of toast and there it was. The first plane had hit and the news coverage was just beginning. I called my mom and they weren't watching it yet, so I hear my dad in the background after he turned it on saying, "This is deliberate. You realize, we've just been attacked." and both my mom and I were like, "No. I'm sure it's just a horrible accident. Maybe things got confused at the airport control tower or the pilot lost control or something." Then the second plane hit and we knew.

Anyway, got right in at 10 in ticketmaster and secured 2 very decent seats for the two of us.

That should be a great time for you two!

Hmmm...branded.....cow avatar. Am I the only one who found this funny! You should put a brand on your cow - "Poop Lady"

As often as our cows break out, we should have them branded. I can just imagine one of the neighbors calling in, "One of the Poop Lady cows is out again." :rotfl2:

The photographer told them to all do soemthing different. It was the week before Halloween and there was a "Haunted Park" set up thing going.....

1025-8.jpg

I loved your pictures Tracie, but this one is a classic!

AND my mother was knocked out too!

My mom was out for all 4 of us. I guess it was how they did things? I had a walking epidural for birth #1 (and fell in LOVE with my anesthesiologist)... tried to have an epidural for birth #2, but it was done wrong (long story) so wound up doing it the old fashioned way.

Okay, the wedding pics! I know you've been holding your breath!

Those were great pics. You definitely gotta love a military wedding. And I'll second the, "You guys haven't changed" sentiment!

I don't know if you guys saw this but luckily no one was hurt and the damage was minimal.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/orange/orl-bk-universal091107,0,7751873.story

I didn't see a time listed. Was the park open or closed? I'm just glad nobody was hurt.

tricia - wow, poor sickie - get better...i have to take cipro due to penicillin (sp) allergy...it can cause digestive distress. feel better soon!

That was my first comment to the doctor. I come with intestinal distress and you prescribe medication for me that can cause the very symptoms I already have. Thanks.

Tricia - loved your pics too! Come on - everyone else - time for your pics too! Oh, and Tricia - I hope the meds help out some. If it's not better in 48 hours or so, I'd definitely call the doc again because it should be helping by then. If not, I always think of these Readers' Digest stories where they always start out "I thought I had a stomach bug/flu, etc." and then it turns out to be some weird thing no one's ever heard of that "if we'd only caught right away I would have been fine". Okay, I'm weird - I'm sorry!

Yeah, the doctor already told me that if I am not improving by tomorrow to call for another appointment. I hope this takes care of things because I don't want to go through all the testing stuff.

I'm planning on having a small wedding party, MOH and 1 BM and the DF is following suit. Unless of course, the homies come down and be the drunken BMs or maybe even FGs ;)
Two days until Williamsburg!!

We'll be there! :lmao: Just kidding. Have fun in Williamsburg. I haven't been in almost 20 years, so I'm sure things have changed a bit.

Anyone else having fun with their kids' homework? I just wrote a report on JFK in Spanish! Joy! Learned more than I wanted to about JFK and Spanish!

Joshua's homework is more of the "Write your name using a capitol letter at the beginning" type. He already had to correct me. I will write his name on a piece of paper so he can see it and then he'll write it himself on his homework paper. He told me I make my "J" wrong. Huh? "Mommy, there is no cap on the J, that's the Kindergarten way."

I feel like an outcast here :lmao: I am not a woman, and I can't find wedding pics to scan and post (I'm sure my better half knows where they are!)

On 9-11 6 years ago we were having birthday cake in the breakroom at work (yes, today is my birthday) and someone came up the steps and told us, well, that put a damper on the festivities real fast. Birthdays haven't been the same since, it's hard to fathom that it's been 6 years already!

:bday:

9-11 is my mom's birthday too.

I bet it would THRILL your wife if you asked her where your wedding pics are because you want to post them for others to see. I know I'd feel all gooey inside if my hubby did!

Hey Sharon....I agree with you on Tricia's comment: I think THAT should be a tag for her :lmao:

Tricia...you had the premo wedding.....fancy ceremony and casual reception!!! And beautiful pictures too! You are not going to believe this, but I also wore tennis shoes that day :lmao: I am serious....I am NOT kidding!! I didn't fancy them up, just wore new ones and white ankle socks! (If you don't believe me, I can so scrounge up a pic somewhere....)

Tricia....hope those drugs are doin' ya good and knock whatever is in ya...out!!!

My toe is better today. Had flipflops on (cuz sneakers hurt) and with the rain today, it was damp. Put the heat on in my car, and the heat must have helped it :confused3 But, it's not pretty colors, but it still hurts (not throbs) and it's swollen, but definately better than yesterday

Bubba was the 'senior student' in karate class tonite (meaning, he was the only blackbelt....others were lower ranks and recommended blackbelts)....he was so funny...bein' "all that" But, he was a good example to "look up to" for the lower ranks, and that's what he's supposed to be :thumbsup2

Oh, man. What a tag that would be. I would be the Poop Lady forever.

So, you did the tennis shoes too? Here's mine:

WeddingShoes.jpg

The extra hand in the picture is my sister's, who was my matron of honor. She was showing off Brad's wedding band on her finger.

I hope the drugs work too. I *think* I'm better this morning. I don't want to get too excited yet, but I'm hoping.

Glad the toe is recovering. Are you doing the salon this week? I bet being on your feet all day with a hurt toe can't be any fun.

Way to go Bubba! :woohoo:

I married my high school sweetheart  We met when I was in the 9th grade and he was in the 10th grade and I chased him until I caught him (it took me a while, it was my junior year when I finally kept his attention!) We got married when he was in his third year of college. Sounds kind of like one of those fairy tales, doesn't it..... We've been together so long we can look at each other and tell what the other is going to say. Like (you guys will appreciate this!): The other day he said, "I think it's going to do the trick," and at the same time, we looked at each other and said, "I THINK IT'S GONNA WORK THIS TIME!":rotfl2: Then we laughed and I told the boys that me and dad had another of our "in sync" moments, and DH and I looked at each other and said, "Or was it a Back Street Boys moment?" :rotfl2: That may be one of those I guess you had to be there kind of things, but it was funny at the time!

I think it is great when a couple has a "we've been together forever" story. I didn't meet the right guy until I was 31.

WAKE UP, WAKE UP, HOMIES!!!

GOOD MORNING!

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Did I do good? Did I catch up on everything/everyone?

BTW our cows broke the fence again last night and we had a mini roundup. Brad's going to have to put up a new section of the fence and quit patching the old one. :sad2:

Tricia, I meant to tell you that I wore flip flops under my gown. I wish I had a pic. But no frickin way was I wearing heals or any uncomfortable nonsense. Not for an outdoor wedding!

Well, yesterday ending up being a very busy day for me. Can't believe I went from basically nothing to do at 10:45 to leaving the house 15 minutes later and basically not being back home until midnight!! Barely made it home from lunch with mom in time to pick the kids up from school, had stopped at Walmart and just happened to notice that the afternoon had flown by & if I had gone in to Wally World would not have made it in time to pick them up! Then had to leave an hour later for baseball.

Anyway, great wedding pics everyone. Loved seeing them all, can't wait to see Katie's.

Tricia - hope you are fellin better today.

Barb - hope the toe gets better soon.

Akdar - Happy Birthday. I hope you were able to enjoy it.

Marcie - what do you mean you did th homework????? Aren't the boys supposed to do that?

Sorry I never made it back to tell my 9/11 story yesterday. I am actually glad I got to get out of the house and be to busy to dwell on it. Before I left I just kept tearing up at just about everything I read & saw.

I was actually on my wy to dropping Michael off at school and heard that the first plane had hit the WTC. I wasn't like most who thought it was just an accident, immediately knew something bad was happening. I headed back home and turned on the TV, saw the second plane hit. Now DH (works for DOD), was actually in the air, he had left for a conference in Orlando that morning. DH called shortly thereafter to let me know they had landed. The pilot had actually came over the intercom and told his passengers exactlly what was happening, that they had been told to land at the nearest airport and that he was giving them 2 minutes to get seated and belted. He then rolled the plane and was on the ground minutes later. DH said he didn't know a plane could stop that fast. They landed at Warner Robbins in GA. Of course he was on orders and could not just go rent a car. By the time he got approval there were none left. He was stuck there with just the crew until late Thursday evening when a car finally became available. The plane & it crew were still there waiting for approval to fluout when he left. The airport was so small, not equipped for a plane that size, they were having trouble getting security clearance.

Once I knew DH was on the gournd I called the school and talked to the secretary, a good friend of mine, adn aksed her what they were doing about the kids. Our teachers were keeping it out of the classroom. I told her that David was safe and he said she would go let Michael's teacher know so that if they found out she would be able to tell him his daddy was safe. Very few people actually picked their kids up here. Of course we are in a very secluded, small community so it is much different for us then it is for those of you in larger aeas & areas closer to ground zero.

I think the biggest difference with me feeling like it was not an small plane & an accident is because we were attacked in Oklahoma City back in 95. Of course as things would have it, I was out of town during that attack. I was working for Xerox and we have a training facility in Leesburg, VA. I had left 2 days before that attack, we were on break & I walked back in to class to see this building with a huge whole in it and just knew I recognized the voice. As I sat there looking at that TV I realized that was my home, it was a building I had been in just weeks before working on a machine. Lets just say I was in complete shock. Could not get through on any phone lines to check on co-workers or DH, who was on the military base. Finally tried an 800 number to our parts department and at that point they had confirmed none of Xerox's people were in the building, she also said that it was the only place that had been targeted. I was not able to get ahold of DH until late in the afternoon. Everytime I looked at a TV or newspaper I just lost it. Of course I was there for two weeks with people I had only met when I arrived. I have never been so happy to be home in all my life.

This little thread is so special. It is so wonderful to have a place to come and vent, cry, laugh and so on. You guys are like family, love ya all! Thank you mac for starting this.

Hey guys - hope everyone is doing well. I've almost given up on trying to keep up with this thread - you guys know how to chat!!

I did see some of the wedding pictures - they were great!

Has anyone been watching the Today show today? I'm at work, so I haven't seen if my friend, Jennifer was on yet.

But the people.com website already has her makeover pics on it. I thought that wasn't going to happen until Friday. So, head over to the website and see her big transformation! Part of the video of her shopping is funny - she about passes out over paying $60 for a bra!

Ok, gotta get back to work - Thanks!
Melissa

I didn't watch the Today show. I'm sorry I missed it! I will have to check out the website. Is $60 for a bra a lot?

Lori, was Hannah Montana last night? I can't keep track! If it was, hope you had fun!

I was just talking to Mike and I told him that I decided I'm going to start on my New Year's resolution early so that I might have a chance of actually achieving it by the end of next year. You'd think it'd be to lose weight, or keep the house cleaner, or not let laundry pile up, or call my brother more regularly, try to be more positive, manage our money better. Do we need to do all these things? Of course. So what is the habit I really need to break? Dare I say? I will tell you. My bad habit happens to be that I swear too friggin much. :rolleyes1 I am one of very few females where I work. I work with a bunch of phone technicians who were outside plant for too long. They've rubbed off on me in a HORRIBLE way after 8.5 years and I need to snap the way out of it. I was looking for a bit of reassurance (could he NOT read my mind? ;)). Unfortunately, this is what I got: "You DO cuss like a sailor, Jodie." Hmmpphhh. Do "frig" and "frick" count as swear words? Baby steps. Baby steps.

If I don't start working on this now, mac is going to be treated to an earful the first time I get scared at HHN. :scared1:

Did I do good? Did I catch up on everything/everyone?

I think you did a FAB job :thumbsup2 ...ya know...it really WOULD BE a good tag :rolleyes1

BTW our cows broke the fence again last night and we had a mini roundup.

sorry...but after the last story.... :lmao:

Bubba is learning "cursive" so far... :scared: I don't remember learning it the way he is....but, whatever :rolleyes2 The letters look funny to me :confused3 :confused3

I hope those drugs are helping today....they must make you feel better since you multi-quoted :thumbsup2

Oh, toe feels better today....more movement, not AS sore..... salon was yesterday, office is today..... (Mon, Wed, Thur = office job/ Tues, Fri, Sat = salon job...i know, it's confusing...) Been wearing flipflops cuz "shoe" hurts a little..... And, I was surprised that it didn't really hurt yesterday (at salon), must be healin' ;)

I think your tennis shoes (a/k/a 'bobos' were much prettier and fancier than mine....i didn't care tho...nobody saw my shoes until the garter deal..... )

Jodie...do you work with phones or the "connecting" of them? My DH is an electronic techinican...so, just wondering....

Melissa....i didn't see the show....(no time in the mornings), but i will check out the website....thanks!!

Okay, so you're probably wondering what i am doing home??? Let me tell you....this "office" job i have is a small company run from the owners' home. We dress casual (jeans, shorts, etc...) EXCEPT when we have an interview coming in.... So, I get to work this morning, and I am asked why i am not "dressed"? Told them I was dressed (jeans and DH's tshirt :teeth: ...they say, "no"...for the interview this afternoon. :confused3 Well, I'm not dressed CUZ I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT!!!!! So, after the other gal comes back (from going home to change), I left to come home and change.... wouldn't be SUCH a big deal if i wasn't 20-25 minutes away! So, with the interview this afternoon, I'm guessing I'm not going to find out about my raise I asked for? :confused3 (if I DO find out, I'll be sure to letcha's know ;) ) So, off to change and git back to work....Odd, I get done at 3:30 and will be back home by 4! :rotfl:

quick check in, day gone down the crapper or to @*@!?X! as jodie would say;)

barb - ow, u need a pair of crocs Getting jerked around on the cruise sub, carnival still hasn't made the announcement. probably to avoid as many cancellations (allowable within the 24 hour period after itinerary change email is received)

Yet, i had a copy of email sent out to TAs this am indicating it's not Progresso - now Rotan. Island off of Honduros. anyone ever visit? hear they've got not much more than zip lining, diving, beaches & iguanas...lots of them.

Our pymt due on 18th. Other ship Glory from Port Canaveral is over $900 more now for a non-aft balcony:rolleyes1 ...not sure if i want it that much and we'd have to skip U/RPR for Saturday too.:scared1:

marci - i'm proud of you! my generation didn't even have sports other than intermurals, remember when we got to wear pants in 6th grade.:rotfl:

mac - sorry to hear of DSs injury, know crushed discs are a real challenge.:wizard: neat your mom was in the war effort, my dad was a gunner on a destroyer. They strapped you in and if you freaked & decided to bolt you got shot on the spot:scared: one of the few things he ever mentioned about the time other than the beauty of Hawaii

KFed - what's MOH? mother of husband?

off to college fair tonight with youngest...whoopee.

Hi all-
Sorry, been MIA :guilty:
Yesterday, an older woman friend needed to talk, so we talked for a little while on the phone. She is about 70 yrs old. No, she doesn't DIS. Then my cousin called and we chatted a little bit in the afternoon yest.

Today, I kinda was in my own little world, looking up former classmates on the classmates.com website. I have been a member of classmates.com for about 4 yrs now. I haven't been on that website in months, so decided to check it out again, for awhile.

On 9/11/2001, my kids were in preschool at the time. THey had afternoon preschool, so I had PBS kids on, for the kids to watch. My mom called me at around 9:15 am ,central time. She said"Rosemaire, turn on the tv, the twin towers have been hit!" I was like, "what"? So I changed hte tv channel to Fox news channel and then I saw hte aftermath of the twin towers were hit. I watched for a few minutes. I guess it felt like a movie scene to me at first.
Then once hte kids got on the bus and went to preschool inthe afternon, I watched the whole afternoon. And the next day, and next day .

I'm sorry I haven't caught up with the reading of the pages I missed. I will soon.
You gals are so chatty! :hyper2:

Unfortuantely I gotta get going and pick up the kids off the bus and help them with their homework again :rolleyes1

Nashville Trio- I totally forgot to watch the Today show :headache:
I hope all went well with your friend on the show!

Later.

My sister (the oldest one) lives in Warner Robins! How weird.

Thank you mac for starting this.

I'll second that! Now I'm getting all mushy. Group hug! :grouphug:

Has anyone been watching the Today show today? I'm at work, so I haven't seen if my friend, Jennifer was on yet.

I can't believe I forgot! :headache: I'll have to check it out on the website. D'oh!

I didn't watch the Today show. I'm sorry I missed it! I will have to check out the website. Is $60 for a bra a lot?

Baby steps. Baby steps.

The most I have ever paid for a bra is $50... and that was only because I was talked into it by my best friend.

I got almost the same phrase from Brad when we started dating. Okay, I never did swear like a sailor, but I did have a colorful way of putting things. :rolleyes1 He was raised in a very strict Baptist (and I mean STRICT) household, so his definition of swearing and my definition of swearing were not in the same ballpark. Since it bugged him, I toned it down a little... but I gave it all up when I had the first kid. You won't believe the substitues for swears that I've come up with.

I think you did a FAB job :thumbsup2 ...ya know...it really WOULD BE a good tag :rolleyes1

I must be desperate. I'd take the Poop Lady tag. :lmao:

Glad the toe is continuing to improve. I think my medicine is working. I'm improving too. :thumbsup2

Bobos? I've never heard the term "Bobos"... unless it was a name for a monkey. :confused3 :rotfl:

You'd think they would give you guys a *little* advanced warning about the days that you are suppose to dress up, wouldn't you?

KFed - what's MOH? mother of husband?

off to college fair tonight with youngest...whoopee.

I'm going to guess that MOH is Maid Of Honor... but I could be wrong.

Have fun at the college fair! Will there be a ferris wheel? ;)

Hi all-
Sorry, been MIA :guilty:
I'm sorry I haven't caught up with the reading of the pages I missed. I will soon.
You gals are so chatty! :hyper2:

We have been chatty, so don't worry about catching up. Just drop in and hit the ground running! :)

I've had some difficult news here this afternoon. My sister, the older one not the oldest one, has breast cancer again. She was diagnosed in 2001, had a lumpectomy, went through chemo, and has tested cancer-free since. She felt a lump a few weeks ago and went in for a mammogram and, yep, it's back. Same breast, same general location. It is a large mass, but they don't know how much is new growth and how much is scar tissue. She meets with the surgeon and her oncologist a week from tomorrow to discuss options. No matter what, she has a difficult road ahead of her. :sad1:

Hey gang...well...we MAY have a situation brewing out in the Atlantic. On the news tonight, Tropical Depression #8 has formed and will be named Ingrid if/when the storm strengthens. The forcast track right now has it coming into the southern part of FL but it's really too early to tell. The storm is either going to develop and head towards FL or go out to sea. The next 8-10 days will tell the tale.

TS Huberto is of no threat to FL...it's actually going to hit TX with some heavy rains.

TS Huberto is of no threat to FL...it's actually going to hit TX with some heavy rains.[/QUOTE]

Just what we need here in Texas - more rain!:rotfl2: :lmao:

i'm sick of tropical storms already:rolleyes1 how dare they interfer with people's vacation plans!;)

tricia - what a blow, hope your DSis beats it:sad1: :flower3: if u share her 1st name i'll put her on my church's prayer list! Give her a big hug & tell her we'll thinking good thoughts:goodvibes

barb - eureka, i've think you've got it :lmao: . Country Club wedding planner kept calling me the MOG - hated it!

melissa i forgot what your freind won besides the trip to the Today Show...can't believe i missed it. Even had the tv on to the show, it was laundry day & all the other crap hit the fan...nutz

anyone know the difference between silk screening a logo & a regular logo from a graphics shop? MILs crazy cat snapped & decided to shred clothes in the laundry basket. Managed to put holes in middle DS football warmup suit from HS.:scared1: Can't get another, took them to graphics shop & they said they'd order a new pair of sweats & it would look "pretty much" the same. If not, i'm hiding them:rolleyes1 he'll think they're at his dads house.

Tricia
I am so sorry to hear about your sister. Please tell her she will be in my prayers. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer on X-mas eve this past year. She kept it from us until after the holidays. I was wondering why she seemed so off. She has since had surgery and radiation. We are keeping our fingers crossed. She had been lazy and skipped her yearly mammogram. Felt guilty about it 6 months later and scheduled it. Thats when they found the lump. Please, all you ladies, make sure you get your mammograms.
