Good morning all!!

Tricia...hope you're OK!! Forgive me, I couldn't stop laughing....

Hope everyone is doing well and is safe from some of the weather that has been going around.

Donald I am so sorry to hear about your job. Good luck with going back into the nursing field.

Dave, ummm thanks for posting from the bathroom. I guess. :lmao:

Todd- What's the weather like now? Are you still going home for Christmas?

Katie - Hope you are safe from the weather too.

HI all-

Got the plumber to come out yesterday to power rod our kitchen pipes :thumbsup2
We had kitchen sink water back-up issues from the partial clogging of the kitchen common pipes from our upstairs neighbor. No more water leaking all over the kitchen floor :cool1:
So glad my DH worked from home all day yesterday,so he can be here when the plumber came.

Holy Batman bottom! I don't think I mentioned it yet, but DH has a colonoscopy scheduled on Christmas Eve morning.
I have to call on Monday to confirm everything (time and date of procedure). Have the paper of what he needs to do and drink for the prep for the procedure. I remember a long time ago, the stuff to drink used to be called Go-Lightly. I guess it's called Movi-Prep- what a name

Metro- sorry to hear about the Calee Anthony discovery :grouphug:
So sad :sad1: I can't remember the name off hand of the girl who was abducted and killed in FL., by this creep that lived in a mobile home. I think a law was passed b/c of her. I think that happenend 3 yrs ago I believe.
So much child abduction that goes on all over the US, very scary :sad1:
I always make sure my kids are with me at all times, and with my DH, if he takes them out without me going somewhere with them. I am so overprotective (my DH says this about me). But I make sure I'm over protective instead of underprotective.
I watch On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren on FNC sometimes. She always talks about child abductions, criminal cases, etc.

Trisha- sorry to hear about your eye. Hope you are doing better

Tinkertude- hope everything went well with the ortho dr. about your thumb

donaldduck- so sorry you got laid off  Not a fun thing to go thru. Hope you can find something soon.

Barb- glad to see you here :thumbsup2

Marcie- sorry to hear about the snowblower/ light cords issue.
GLad you didn't get electricuted :scared1: .That would be my worry.

Hi to all :wave2:

Mac- I can't remember, did you pick a day and time yet when we are to reveal our ornament exchange? Will it be on the thread here or in a chat room like last yr? Just so you know, I can't do Monday night, I won't be home. Thanks! :)

Sorry to hear that ... but at least you have another skill to fall back on

You know...it was a sleet storm that helped me finally make my decision to move here. In March of 2003, my parents were down here on vacation with some friends. I was in Virginia in the middle of a sleet storm at home. Shoveling that stuff is like shoveling sand...NOT easy. I came in to make some soup for lunch and the folks called. They said it was 83 degrees and they were having a beer at the condo and I was killing myself trying to shovel enough sleet away from the car so I could make it to work the next day. That was enough for me and I decided I would not spend another winter in Virginia. So...in the fall of 2003 the house went on the market and I got a contract Christmas weekend. In February 2004, I loaded up the truck and I moved to Beverly...err...Orlando.
Every time it gets so bloody cold out and I have to go shovel the snow (like it is today), I think to myself "Why the heck am I doing this?? I would rather be somewhere warmer" ... it's -26C (-15F) here and 75F in Orlando ... I think I'm in the wrong place!!!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone from the bathroom of the Crowne Plaza in Cincinnati. :surfweb: [/SIZE]

Lawrence so sorry you are feeling bad. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Bonny & Lee - Can you practice law in the US or would you have to take the bar here? I have no idea if the Canadian legal system is the same as the US legal syste. It would be great to pick up and move and be able to go right back to practicing!

It must be Christmas. I almost shot my eye out. How? I'm so glad you asked...

My son got a Spiderman car at his gift exchange at school. Fine. He was thrilled. It comes with these rocket launcher things on the sides. Joshua couldn't figure out how to load the long, plastic, bullet shaped things in the launchers, so he asked me to help. I had trouble, so I picked the car up and stared down the barrel of the rocket launcher while I loaded the hard, plastic, bullet shaped projectile in it. In hindsight, probably not the smartest thing I've ever done. I managed to load and launch the damn thing all in one move. Since I was staring straight into it, I took a direct hit in my left eye with a Spidey Missle.

Ouch.

It was a teachable moment. Joshua learned A) not to point things that shoot at your face and B) a whole new list of bad words that he is not allowed to say.

Hey youse.....

OMG ...I just spat my Dr Pepper over my monitor......sorry to laugh but....:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh, feel free to laugh at my A Christmas Story moment. No permanent damage was done, other than making me feel like an idiot.

I mean, really. What was I thinking? "Let's stare straight into the barrel of the gun while we load the bullet. I'm sure nothing bad can come of that..."

:rotfl:
