Something About Nothing..........#6

Hey all - very busy (aren't we all!). We're going skiing tomorrow. Yes, driving 3 hours each way, in the up to 15 inches of snow predicted for that area (only 4-8 for us). And the forecast highs of zero there, along with "strong winds". But, hey, the girlfriends are coming so all is right in their worlds. We'll see how bad it is. If it's too bad we may be turning around at some point! Did I mention it's all small roads?!

They had an article in the paper today saying that last winter was the 3rd ever snowiest winter here in Green Bay. The first two were in the 1800's! And so far this winter we've gotten over 1/3 as much as last winter. As of this morning we were "just shy" of breaking the December record. Since it's been snowing all day, I think we've done it! Anyways, my point is that at least I have a reason to be whining it sounds like! Are you getting all this snow today Mac?

Eric's piano recital went well this morning. He and his teacher played his concerto. DH taped it all, so maybe some time I can get it on youtube for anyone interested. At the end of the recital, they always do a duet with one of the students playing "Sleigh Ride" with the teacher, and Eric was chosen this year. They have parents doing the clapper (whip), jingle bells, and the horse! Just a fun ending for everyone!

Lawrence - sorry to hear about your teeth. That happened to my mom as well. She had some long term problems with them and at one point was on Vicodin for the pain. She was in so much pain that she kept taking Vicodin. After a few, I guess she forgot that she'd taken them (or how many) and took more. Ended up eventually in the hospital getting her stomach pumped. Take it easy and if you have any heavy-duty narcotics have someone else ration them out for you!

I got all the wrapping done today with help from the kids and white chocolate covered pretzels made and stuffed into gift bags!!!

It must be Christmas. I almost shot my eye out. How? I'm so glad you asked...

My son got a Spiderman car at his gift exchange at school. Fine. He was thrilled. It comes with these rocket launcher things on the sides. Joshua couldn't figure out how to load the long, plastic, bullet shaped things in the launchers, so he asked me to help. I had trouble, so I picked the car up and stared down the barrel of the rocket launcher while I loaded the hard, plastic, bullet shaped projectile in it. In hindsight, probably not the smartest thing I've ever done. I managed to load and launch the damn thing all in one move. Since I was staring straight into it, I took a direct hit in my left eye with a Spidey Missle.

Ouch.

It was a teachable moment. Joshua learned A) not to point things that shoot at your face and B) a whole new list of bad words that he is not allowed to say.

I woke the dogs laughing out loud. Sorry, but you described it SOOOO well. I hurt for you. Thanks for sharing your pain.

Well at least they did it at Christmas not earlier..

I still have another paycheck comming..

Consruction has really took a hard hit and the company I work for waited till the last minute.They have been in the red for months!!

Hey gang...just checking in to see what's going on. I went to Universal for a while today and will probably head to Epcot tomorrow to take advantage of this beautiful weather we have.

We've had really warm weather lately, too. In the 70s. But tonight it's very cold again. I hope we gat warm weather in FL on our trip in 19 days. WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!

I went to the orthopedist yesterday, and we're trying physical therapy first to see if that cures it. I have what they call "frozen shoulder" due to a stress injury years ago that wasn't ever diagnosed or treated. So I have physical therapy three times a week, and I'm supposed to do stretching exercises every day. I missed today.... Too busy!!!!!!!!!! I'll have to do it twice tomorrow when I'm not trying to get lessons and music ready between the needs of kids and dogs. I also have a stress injury in my wrist that they can't do anything about. I guess I need to stop using the mouse on teh computer and type less. Yeah, right.... The thumb is hopeless. I just have to try to stretch it out, too. The bone healed well when/if it broke, but there was soft tissue damage that has caused pain and lost mobility. Oh, well. If I didn't have a high tolerance for pain, I'd probably take care of this crap sooner. I guess the pain tolerance will help with all the horrible stretching exercises.

Rose, best wishes for your DH. That's not a great way to spend Christmas Eve. What a bummer.
Butt really, I can empathise. I've had two colonoscopies and I'm due to get another one soon. My intestines don't like me.

the nursing field is wide open in the midwest. places are begging for nurses and they are hired in with a bonus if they work 30 days.
i wish the the best of everything as you peruse the field.

You know...it was a sleet storm that helped me finally make my decision to move here. In March of 2003, my parents were down here on vacation with some friends. I was in Virginia in the middle of a sleet storm at home. Shoveling that stuff is like shoveling sand...NOT easy. I came in to make some soup for lunch and the folks called. They said it was 83 degrees and they were having a beer at the condo and I was killing myself trying to shovel enough sleet away from the car so I could make it to work the next day. That was enough for me and I decided I would not spend another winter in Virginia. So...in the fall of 2003 the house went on the market and I got a contract Christmas weekend. In February 2004, I loaded up the truck and I moved to Beverly...err...Orlando.

sleet storms scares the willies out of me. once of the worse times to be on a road.
and it takes a lot lot lot longer to clear ice off your driveway.
you made a great choice in relocating metro.
i bet you think of that every time one of the homies makes a remark of the weather here.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone from the bathroom of the Crowne Plaza in Cincinnati. Yes, we are at, yet, another tennis tournament and everyone is still asleep. Thank goodness to the world of the wireless internet .

It is getting colder here and we will be here for another night....Hope everyone stays warm!!

dental pain is horrible!

when you have that type of pain, it is hard to do anything at all.

I'm working until 2pm on Wednesday and then we're off until next Monday! Bad news is...the parks will be INSANE starting this weekend so no playing for me.

I have my new signature ready to go for after Christmas. It will be my homage to one of my favorite hobbies back in the day...new avatar too!

Probably. I have my dad and step-mom's presents (they live in Houston). And if my sister gets me anything. My mom told me to pick out what I wanted, and the one I got was the last one Wal-Mart has (as far as I know) and at a good price. I gave her her present too.
