Except the homie didn't give a name, just "Dis Friend".
My kids were playing with the ornament before I even had a chance to look at it

What the heck?! Now my weather toolbar is not only giving me warnings for tonight (although it's just 4 inches now, I guess with the wind chill it's worth a warning), but for Thursday night into Friday?! Here's the latest:

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER COLORADO ON THURSDAY... THEN QUICKLY MOVE PAST THE SOUTHERN TIP OF LAKE MICHIGAN ON FRIDAY. THE TRACK OF THIS SYSTEM IS FAVORABLE FOR HEAVY SNOW... ESPECIALLY OVER EAST CENTRAL WISCONSIN. AT THIS TIME... A SWATH OF 6 TO 9 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED SOUTH OF A LINE FROM WISCONSIN RAPIDS TO SHAWANO TO MARINETTE... WITH THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS FROM OSHKOSH TO MANITOWOC.

Okay, I highlighted part in red. I didn't know we were so close to Colorado that we got their snow less than a day later! I'm hoping we'll be north of this one!

I had a friend that got married in Shawano in 1992. I was her bridesmaid.

According to the website, and mac, you can get the $75 card valid for the day of your birthday, only good on merchandise, or:
*a special FastPass good for you and up to 5 people (but those are limited and "may not be available after 11am)
*a 1 day Magic Your Way ticket good until your next birthday.

As for the "Buy 4 Get 3", I believe you have to book by 12/20 and the last valid date listed is 6/27 (like 4/19 to 6/27 I think is the last stretch).

AndyRob - Congrats on booking the trip! What day is your birthday? My big sisters is the 23rd.

I thought we were supposed to tell who the ornament was from when we sent it. Just not share it on the thread so people could figure out who had gotten and sent and who was left. I enclosed pics with my ornament and definitely told who it was from. That's how we did it last year.

Rose - coming from a family with two parents whose parents (my grandparents on both sides) emigrated from Poland, I went to a LOT of those weddings growing up! For some odd reason, we have a bunch of the songs on our ipod too (think beer barrel polka but much worse!)

I'll let you all know if anybody wins anything with the lottery cards! We bought one for my dad and he won $20 (yes, it was $20 for the card!) - and yes, he skipped ahead and did them all at once!

Off to not one but TWO band concerts. Middle school one (8th grade band and then jazz band) and then the high school one that was cancelled because of the weather last week (3 more bands to listen to there). If I haven't mentioned, I HATE these kinds of things!

Hey, did you say you were a nurse(LPN)? And your wife is a nurse,too? Is she an LPN or RN? Does she work in a hospital, nursing home, doctor's office or somewhere else? Just curious. I'm an RN myself, haven't worked in nursing for quite awhile. I remember the crazy coworkers I used to work with. I used to work for the nuns at this one nursing home on the graveyard shift for 3 yrs full-time (before I got married). The director of nursing at this place was a nun and she was so mean to me She was a perfectionist.
She ruled with an iron fist.
Other nursing homes I worked at, nurses would write-up other nurses
Everyone was at each others' throats. it was crazy. Too much backstabbing


Ok,I gotta run. Kids need me, as DH is not home yet from work.

it started snowing here around 1:30 today and we were told only a couple of inches.
HA..........

since we are down to one car, i have to drive the mile and a half to the train station to get mr mac.
it took me 15 minutes to get there. dang!!

it is more than 2 " and no plows out yet.
now they say 4 or more and will continue to about midnight.

don't tell your kids we have snow, they might think it is wonderful and those up here call it something else.

just think of the email poem i sent out.......

since we have some newbies with us this year, they did it like they have down on other exchanges the dis people do.

if you have your ornament and don't know who it is from, we will list it later once everyone receives theirs.

5 more days of school til vacay!

I will buy drinks (and I am a man of my word) to you and the DH or to ANYONE that can help me find a good price on a flight for four to Orlando (MCO) from either Evansville, Louisville, Nashville for under $800.00 for the dates of March 21 - March 28...Now it doesn't have to be that many days, but I have signed up for the deal of buy 4 get 3 free (or something like that)...
Now you may ask how much are drinks worth?...I would say $40~$50 should do it....How will I do it will be easy!
Hope everyone stays safe, we, in Evansville are getting into some bad weather just for tonight...the rest of the week will be in the 50's....imagine whay people are sick...from 22 degrees to 56 degrees in a day..

Hey Rose I was A LPN Liscence only.I started out in a vollanteer fire dept.Then hooked up with a friend that worked with the local EMS and started part time at night driving a ambulance.During that time I was working a fulltime construction job during the day.I thought I had my calling and worked two jobs and went too school for two years too get my LPN the CNA was a breeze..

After getting fulltime on the EMS with my liscence they hired a new mannagement-and still holding a day job,It was too much,so I quit..

The things I've seen bieng first response haunts me till this day!!

As far as DW she loves her job.She has been in the nursing field for almost 18yrs.But she finds more content staying a med tech and working with the elderly on a one on one basis..Sure its tough,I have seen her come home crying loosing a patient,but thats what the job is about,,

She does charrity work for Hospice just to let people know that its a natrual thing that happens and commffort them in there last days bye reading a fav book or watch a movie with them.. Its A rowl I could not do..She has the heart were I look at the next challenge!!

ever notice - it's the trucks & suvs that r the ones u see that slid off the road 4 wheel drive = squat when ur driving on ice...some peeps just don't get it

i shamefully hang my head in my lack of knowledge re the $75 GC WDW tie in that's what i get for ignoring the DISboard in my typical post vacation funk...def. think i'll pencil in some planning time jik i find a bucket of money for impromtu trip...u never know

Donald - 2 suggestions for u:

*did u plug in ur airports/dates @ kayak with the update alert? they (& other sites) will send u email when the price reaches a tolerable point

*believe it or not, Disney has been known to dredge up decent last minute (basically what ur talking about for March/spring break etc.) especially if AirTran services ur area...good luck
