I will adopt you Mac. You are always welcome to a home cooked meal here.

Ruth I hope you brother is able to get the results so he can get the care options he needs. Prayers being sent for you all.

Mac I hope you can get the almond sliver out of your tooth.

Thank you Carole, daughter in law is just wanting to get it move now. The Doc told her it would be a number of months therapy after surgery.

I woke up with a barn burner of a headache this morning. Think it is a sinus infection. Have the meds to treat it so started those this morning.

Well, we received the white stuff yesterday late afternoon. It was funny in that it was snowing really hard at the store Which is about 3 miles from our house and then half mile from home there was nothing. Then the flurries reached us in a couple of hours. If the predicted weather stays on course it will melt off by Wednesday.

Did a little online shopping and picked up some electronic things from Target and Walmart yesterday.

Picked up the needed ingredients to make the cookies for the various office parties for family members.

Hubby wants a treadmill to help build his walking strength so we did a little investigating on the various options to choose from. We found the one we wanted online and I went to the sporting goods store and looked at it yesterday.

Hubby wants to look at it in person too. So will try and do that in next couple of days and arrange delivery and set up if he wants it.

I needed a new large roasting pan and found a nice one at TJ Maxx. One more thing off the needed list completed.

Going to take a little nap in awhile.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Fingers crossed for your DiL and glad to hear your husband is progressing, a treadmill will be ideal for him to gain some mobility.

I love new kitchen products, we just treated ourselves to a new Le Creuset set of pans and ovenware, we just got fed up with the classic colour we`d had for many years, but I won`t be replacing these, I think in 50 years they`ll still be in pristine condition, cast iron just doesn`t wear out.

Hope your sinus issue cleared up, very painful thing to experience.

Happy December everyone.
No Black Friday shopping for me. Several years ago I started a new family Anti-Black Friday tradition. We find something to do as a family that does not involve shopping. This year B had to work, so dh and I went to a basketball game at our university. We actually went to 2, the men's game on Friday and women's on Saturday. Both teams won. At 5'2' I always feel a little bit short, but felt even shorter at the games. The men's team has a payer who is 7 feet tall and the women's team has a 6'6" member.

We also got all of our indoor Christmas decorations up. I have some outdoor decorations coming from Amazon this week.

B has only asked for gift cards this year. I kind of miss the days of toy buying, but gift cards are so much easier.

That kind of secret Santa I like. If it was just a matter of drawing a name and buying a gift I would be okay. The game we played involves taking gifts from others. It can get really cutthroat at times.
My favorite secret Santa gift came from when I worked for Home Depot years ago and I don't think any money was spent on it. I know that one of the ladies in my department was going through some difficult financial times. Thankfully we had a $10 limit on the gift. She drew my name. What I didn't know about her was that she could sew. She took some scrap material that she had on hand, some unbleached muslin, and made a cute rabbit out of it. She took some other material and made a dress for the rabbit. It was so cute. I still have it in storage somewhere.

It's great you were able to reconnect with some family members. I just wish it had been under better circumstances.

I just put away most of my summer clothes. I'm not quite ready for Uggs and puffer jackets just yet though.

Prayers for a successful surgery and recovery.

I am sorry to hear about your brother. Prayers for him as he is deciding on his course of care.

You are braver than I.

A few years ago I made the mistake of going to the outlet mall when we were in Williamsburg on Black Friday. I will not do that again.

Prayers for a quick recovery.

I am sorry you had such a bad experience. The Bojangles near me is pretty decent. I occasionally go there for lunch since it is close to my office.

So sorry to hear of another death in your family.

Well, my 5 day weekend is coming to a close. I am not looking forward to returning to work tomorrow. It might be a slow day though since my boss is taking the day off.

Caspian says Merry Christmas.

Yes, I`ll do just about anything than trail round stores especially when huge sales are on!

Thank you, it`s been quite a month.

I do like the sound of a personal gift, glad you liked it and kept it......very cute cat pic too!!!

Hope your day goes well today and passes quickly!

We planned a day at home today and glad we did, woke up to hear the wind and rain howling, so yep, we turned around and went back to sleep, slept till just after 9 which was bliss. I think we both have a lot of sleep to catch up on.

Had an email from two of our friends who are in Orlando right now, they arrived a few days ago and they are complaining of the cold!! Bless them they don`t mind it a bit cooler, but they`ve had to wear hoodies and trousers instead of shorts so far, especially in the evenings. Told her it`s warmer than here, after a mild few days it is going chillier now.

Finished off some final touches on the trees and decor around the house, popped candles here there and everywhere, set my dining room table in a festive theme, it`ll stay like that till New Year. We do eat in there, but mainly it`s the kitchen table we use which has a little Christmassy theme with the centre piece, table cover and mats and of course Christmassy teapots and cups.

So, lazy-ish day any little jobs are nice ones, but glad we`ve been in with no need to go out anywhere, it has been so miserable.

I have chicken thighs slow cooking in the Aga for tonight with rosemary, garlic and other flavours, will add cream when I thicken it up and parmentier potatoes, veg is in with the chicken.

It`s always lovely spending a day at home with lots and lots of tea!!! Yep, more coming right up.

Just a simple day for me.
Our yard man is doing the last mowing for the season today.
And he is trimming the bushes and cutting back on the roses.

He does an excellent job and hope he never retires!

lol.....your gardener is trimming roses, ours are clearing up the last of the leaves falling off the trees!!!

Yes, I hope our gardener doesn`t give up his business anytime soon, he is only in his late 30`s so I doubt it.

It’s now cold here.
Makes me feel like I am back in Chicago.

I feel your pain mac, it has been mild since we came home from Scotland, but weather is changing already and it`s cold, wet and miserable and to get colder. Apart from a couple of appointments this week, we plan to hibernate as much as we can. Not quite as cold as you would get in Chicago of course, not quite sure I`d last more than a week before coming home!!

Yep, cosy day in today, I think we just stayed in the kitchen most of the day, watched some movies, made tea, had lunch, read a little and did some TR as Tom snoozed a little on one of the sofas.

Christmas movies most nights now, not sure which one yet, we`ll bring the DVD`s out and decide, some we keep till nearer Christmas itself, Alastair Sim A Christmas Carol which is my favourite version, White Christmas too is usually watched on the 23rd.

Feeling very full after dinner then a slice of buttered fruit cake with our after dinner tea, very nice it was too.

Tom fancies watching Trading Places tonight I think, works for me!

just done cutting the Mr’s hairs, he’s easy to please. He hates going to barbershop or salon, so I learned over the years. Cut all my boys’ until 2 of them got thin and they started to shave it off.

#3 has a mullet, God help me lol! I refuse to touch it as I know all of three cuts: a buzz, sides heavily tapered and normal clipper cut.

Getting ready (waiting for the mr to blow the leaves off the sidewalks) then taking the pooch up to jr’s. His two cats & my fur ball love hanging out, thankfully. I did make him some grilled chicken, will take that up.

I’m thinking pizza/hoagie or burgers from somewhere tonight. Got the checked bags done this am. More difficult when a cruise + land, then the cold weather (tomorrow will dip to 40 in Orlando & it’s that damp cold ugh)…

An extra case is making the trip, no problem as included with SWA at least.

Ruth - hope you get to see your brother soon and that they are taking good care of him and keeping him comfortable. He has to be bolstered knowing his family is with him in spirit. :)
MRI showed daughter in law has a lot of damage to her knee and will have to have surgery to repair it. Her MCL was damaged as well as her ACL in her knee. The orthopaedic surgeon says he wants the swelling to go down before he does surgery. She is wearing a brace to keep her knee stable until her surgery.
That’s awful, sorry. What an ordeal for her
Grandson in law told me that his fellow office employees asked if his grandmother in law would be making Christmas cookies again this year as they loved them last year.
Haha I smell a tradition in the making. Nice of you.
Only Kohl’s had a long line
All online there for me. If it were closer, I’d stop. Only buy @ Xmas time. The seasonal throws are cute, pretty much all that grabbed my interest. They usually have some good deals on athletic shoes a couple of weeks out. Already bought each of the boys a pair from Adidas, huge online sales the last few weeks. All the guys got sweats too.
Poor older one caught Covid from work
Ah, that stinks. He has to be careful, my inhaler wasn’t doing the trick last go around, had to get a heavier hitter as wheezing so bad.
2 years at Great Lakes going to school in the Navy
The mr did his time there too, plumbing & electrical. Also, out in San Diego for fire fighting.
Very aggravating for me….
That nuts haha, JK sounds painful, hope it worked its way out. May be time to let them go. Now, I only go with whole cashews or pistachios as softer, unless i chop other favs
We were in Orlando this time last year, glad we`re not there this year, two of our friends are there for a month, they arrived yesterday and she said it`s cooler than usual.
Oh, it’s the night that is the bear. We tend to layer, annoying to carry a bag with them if doing all day in parks.

This week will warm up Wednesday ? To low 70’s. It’s truly that damp cold at night.

we had to use 2 different membership’s points to book this trip @ WL, 2 nights, then another 5. ‘

Decided to splurge late last night (after some of that left-over sangria) and booked the DP. Was shocked to see how much TS dining was available so last minute
worse fast food place
Never a fan of it or Popeyes
I was sad to hear the last aunt on my dad`s side passed away yesterday,
Aw, sorry.
and arrange delivery and set up if he wants it.
We’ve put together a couple of treadmills. If you can get delivery & professional installation, I urge you to do so. They are unbelievably awkward heavy in the box and the belt can be troublesome to adjust properly. It’s scary to be on one & it loosens up and slides on you
I needed a new large roasting pan and found a nice one at TJ Maxx. One more thing off the needed list completed.
So, I found a nice caliphon one a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, that non stick hard adonized type. Would you believe I forgot all about it? Duh. Glad you mentioned it. It was sitting out in the present pile in the room I’m using for wrapping lol
The game we played involves taking gifts from others. It can get really cutthroat at times.
Seriously, hate those. Won’t participate, think it’s just encourages mean spiritedness in the guise of it’s all in fun. Bah humbug
I'm not quite ready for Uggs
Wish I could still wear mine other than slippers for a few hours. Absolutely no support to speak of, why they can’t put an arch in under that wool is beyond me
Caspian says Merry Christmas
Meowy Christmas Caspian!
we just treated ourselves to a new Le Creuset set of pans and ovenware,
Oooooh that is nice.

Will bounce in with some holiday pics, everyone stay safe & sound.

Quick morning stop in...before I start with the morning tasks.

I was supposed to start training another new casual for my desk here. She called in sick today. Her first day of training and she calls in sick - but tis the season of illnesses. Hopefully, the thing going around stays away from me. I don't have much coverage this month to help out if I'm sick.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd it's almost lunch time :rotfl: Always something hitting my desk.

Busyish weekend. We didn't even try to go out and get any shopping done. The weather played a factor in that. It was COLD and snowy. We got almost 2 feet of snow over the weekend. 🥴 So it was all hands on deck for moving snow. I started my Xmas baking, while they were outside moving snow on Saturday. Yesterday - they moved snow again, we went out and pick up some groceries. I baked off another batch of cookies. Then last might dh's niece was in a Christmas concert so we had to go to that. After that we went over to dd's house to take gd her advent calendar to her.

And now I've been told it's raining by pt's coming in today. Such wacky weather. No wonder my head feels like it does.

They are happy so we are happy.

The daughter in laws receive the same amount.
They do not have to “share “ their Christmas gift.
Love that! I think it will come to that in the future. Dh is very much " the gift" type person. I can't complain about him ever not getting me (or anyone for that matter) a gift.
We did meet up with one cousin, we are very close to his dad who is my favourite uncle, but I hadn`t seen this cousin since I was 10 and he was 8, we chatted like we had just seen each other last week, same with some other relatives too. I guess once you have that connection it never leaves you no matter how young you were when you last saw each other.
I have cousins like that as well!
Will be a long time to get over this passing, I think anger is setting in there too now which is part of the process, but we`ll get there with the help of friends and family too.
 Greiving is its own monster, and everyone grieves in their own way and timeline. It is never easy. But it sounds like everyone has a good support system to lean on when the waves hit. It's learning and living a new normal (that honestly never feels normal)
Very busy but going to try to squeeze in a visit to SW and UO before Christmas to eat festival food and see the decorations.
I will say - I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo envious right now!!!!!!!
MRI showed daughter in law has a lot of damage to her knee and will have to have surgery to repair it.
ugh. Sending healing thoughts and light to her.
That's where we are at right now. It's a waiting game, but the tests are supposed to be back next Monday, so we will know. It is terminal cancer but he is keeping all options open to make life easier while he is here.
We did go out yesterday. Hit the four stores we were interested in.
You are brave!
Starting to watch our yearly Christmas movies from tonight, not really a Christmas one as such, but Die Hard 1 & 2 work for us as a beginning.

Wine being brought through......my husband does give a good pour
Sounds like a lovely way to spend the day!!!!!!!!!
I woke up with a barn burner of a headache this morning. Think it is a sinus infection. Have the meds to treat it so started those this morning.
I hope it goes away for you. They are not fun. My barometer brain is always acting up. Excedrine. Advil and gatorade are my best friends.
Several years ago I started a new family Anti-Black Friday tradition.
I love that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our yard man is doing the last mowing for the season today.
We are blowing snow lol.

I want to unsubscribe from this years subscription of winter 2024 :rotfl: I told dh we need to pick what we are doing for our winter vacation. So I can focus on that and tell myself " Only X # of days until we are in warm temps again"

Alright - back to work.

Have a great day everyone!

I seen you posted just before I hit " Post reply" I'm also in the camp of being the family hairdresser. I used to be a hair dresser in my 20's. I didn't return to behind the chair after I had the boys. I didn't miss it. People's expectations of what their hair is to how they want it to be is unreasonable and not achievable. I had one person (one of my last clients) go through her highlights (foils as not many people knew how to do them) I had just spent 4+ hours doing, go through her hair and go " this one is too light...this one is too dark etc etc etc. That was when I knew I couldn't do it anymore.

Our older boy wants a mullet. His hair would be perfect for one....but if he wants that - he needs to go pay someone to do it ;)
Dh and youngest ds are easy. Youngest has extremely straight and thick hair - it's mostly a clipper cut except for the top and bangs. If he was to grow it out - he would look like a fuzzy q-tip lol.

Alright...now I'm off to do some work - maybe :rolleyes1

I do Tom`s hair with the electric thingy, simple and doesn`t take long at all, I did Kyle`s once during lockdown.....nah, he sticks to the barber and can`t say I blame him!

Sangria sounds good!!! And those fancy nights will be fun on the cruise, I do hope it warms up a little for you. Our friends are there now, think this is day 4 of a month long trip for them, they were frozen yesterday evening and not much warmer during the day, she had four layers on for the parade the other night.

I`m not allowed to wear Uggs, they are awful for your feet, especially if you have issues like PF, yep, I avoid them like the plague.

Yep, look forward to some pictures along the way......have an absolute blast Janet!!!

Alright - back to work.

Have a great day everyone!

2 feet of snow does not sound like fun!! Rain is usually better, but it can be just as cold with that too.

It`s so weird with cousins, but it was so nice with this one, genuinely felt that connection as cousins, hopefully next time we meet up it`ll be a nicer occasion. Grief is certainly very personal and yes, it never does feel normal again.

I feel your pain, we had 14C over the weekend, now we`ll be at 1C, nowhere near as cold as you, but heck on a deck, it`s bloomin chilly out there!!

Hope you don`t come down with whatever everyone else has!!! Hard to avoid this time of year.

Heavy rain has bounced down all night against the windows, which I love actually when I`m inside and don`t need to go out, I do find rain relaxing especially when falling asleep.....bliss!!!! But, we just turned the volume up on the movie tonight.

Bedtime soon, still raining so it`ll be cosy!!

No plans to go out tomorrow, have an appointment around 5.30 tomorrow night, so no rush to do anything....the joys of being retired!!!

I have PF too, I definitely limits my shoe selection and barefoot is out as well.
Also a huge fan of movies, snuggles on a rainy night. DW wanted to get a tin roof over current one last time a hurricane took some shingles off but she relented.

It is such a painful thing, yes, I`m careful with what shoes I buy and very rarely go barefoot even at home, I have slippers with inserts or in the summer I wear croc wedges. So with that and stretching regularly, especially before I get out of bed, it`s not bothered me for the longest time. I have had two cortisone injections in one foot, but the surgeon is a friend of ours so he made sure my foot was completely numb both times before he injected me. Not all surgeons/consultants do that over here, or so I`ve heard!!!

Isn`t it just the most romantic of things to do, cosy night snuggled up with the rain, wind or snow billowing outside, thankfully Tom is the same and he`s the same with listening to rain as we fall asleep....yep, lots of romance in this house 🥰

Tin roof!! er, maybe not 🌧️ that might be a little extreme considering the extreme rain you can get over there!!!

Another late sleep for us this morning, I could get used to this!!

Cold outside, our gardener arrived and he is wrapped up like a man heading to the Arctic. I just took him out a flask of tea to keep with him and popped some cakes in the man shed for him, then rushed back up inside the house, it is indeed cold.

We have some packages coming today, nice to have an hours window for it, should be here soon.

Light lunch as we had a late breakfast, I brought out some butternut squash soup I had in the freezer, will be nice with some bread that`s baking right now. Dinner will be the second half of the chicken casserole I made yesterday, will add some more veg to our plates and some kind of potato. Food sorted for the day.

Mid morning cuppa time and must make a start on writing Christmas Cards! I did leave a bunch up in Scotland with my mum that she can hand out mid month as we don`t get back up till Christmas Eve, but so many to write out, so will get started on them.

Tea has been poured, have a lovely Tuesday :-)

26 degrees. Cool? Yes. 72 in my car, with heated seat on. Not a fan of the cool, nor the ice seen on my windshield. And the car reminder icy out there. Glad no rain this week predicted. And glorious sunshine soon to start, and last all this shorter daylight day. Sunglasses on the ready.

And looked at gas level. Guess where I am going when I get back home? Haven’t had to drive it in a week into the city. Was so nice. But back to routine I go. Ugh.

DH was like what are you doing? Was getting up just before the alarm went off. We both wake a little when the other gets out of bed. Particularly when I tend to hog the covers. He promptly went back to sleep as I left. I tend to do the same, when he is the one leaving early. And even though a clear sky, was so dark out, as I got out the door.

But quick ride in, and egad, one car already parked, one in front of me as I turned. Ah, thankful neither was in or took my favorite parking spot. Woot!

Only one in our home that gets his hair cut by little one, is DH. He’s easy anyway, as he just likes a short buzz. Not me, but do have salon visit this week. Enjoy the pampering it is.

Sending well wishes mummy dust to Robo’s DIL, as sounds so painful. Knee issues are no fun at all. Hope her surgery goes well.

I’m with you, Pumpkin, want to unsubscribe to this not so warm weather we are having. Local weather lady said this week temps are like ones we should be seeing in late January. Sigh. Hoping reverse, and we see much warmer weather in January. Though particularly this kind of cool weather, even a short trip to where it’s much warmer is always a thought.

And we have been in FLA in December. Most days were nice, but did get a few cooler than appreciated almost every stay. But at least we have more like winter clothes with us, as almost always much cooler when we get to and from our airport. January is like that too, the times we have gone then. Though the one time we did go in January, spent most of it in Miami, and no winter clothing need there. But did have jacket one, when we came back to Orlando, as cooler there, enough we felt like we needed the jackets. Oddly, we have been most of the months over the years. Have to say though, like the warm late summer and fall trips the best, weather wise. May in there too.

Ah the holidays are here. Woot. Soon enough another mid week, holiday week, followed by another mid week holiday.

And decided, only to be on my week day routine this Friday. Other three Fridays in December are a fun one, and the other two, lazy ones. Woot!

Ah taco eating today. Taco Bell runs. Most Terrific Taco Tuesday to all.

And yay,

A morning stop in!

Woke up in the middle of the night with my head pounding. Took a look outside and of course the winds are howling. Took my dr meds as the OTC stuff wouldn't make a dent in this whopper. A chinook moved in and we went from -20 C to +5C or -4F to 41 overnight :sad2: With all the snow melting just as fast. It was a wet drive to work. The residential roads will be such a treat to drive on after this warm weather. Our residential streets haven't been plowed yet - so all the snow is compacted down and will now have nice ruts full of ice when the temperatures drop again :rolleyes1 Such wacky weather. I have to laugh at this point.

DD and gd came over for dinner last night. I had tossed the chicken into the crock pot I was going to cook up on Sunday but didn't because of niece's Xmas concert. So we had that last night. I had bought gd a new barbie camping set to play with. She was having so much fun playing with it - she didn't want to go home. So I think it was a good purchase.

After the kids left, I watched the newest show for Yellowstone, then it was and early bedtime. Such an exciting life lol.

I brought out some butternut squash soup I had in the freezer, will be nice with some bread that`s baking right now. Dinner will be the second half of the chicken casserole I made yesterday
Yum! That soup sounds divine. I love chicken anything really.
in my car, with heated seat on. Not a fan of the cool, nor the ice seen on my windshield.
I hear you on that. I think the one feature in my new wheels that I am LOVING is the heated steering wheel. I told dh that now going forward - I'll always want that :rotfl: And believe me the heated seats are almost always turned on lol

Well, I should get going and get some things completed off my to-do list.

Have a great day everyone :wave2:

Good morning everyone :wave2:

Prayers for a successful surgery and recovery.
Thank you Charade. She just wants to get it over.

Caspian says Merry Christmas.
Cute photo of Caspian under the tree.

Fingers crossed for your DiL and glad to hear your husband is progressing, a treadmill will be ideal for him to gain some mobility.
Thank you Carole.

Sounds like a good purchase. Le Creuset pans are very nice and you are right they last forever.

Hope your sinus issue cleared up, very painful thing to experience.
It has been miserable. Glad I had the meds on hand to treat it. I have a procedure on Friday morning so hoping I can get this sinus infection cleared up.

I looked at the weather and it looks like very cool weather in the evening.

That’s awful, sorry. What an ordeal for her
It is, I feel sorry for her as her dealing with the fall out with all the legalities of getting all this settled including her surgery is just beginning. It took a year to get everything settled after I was hit in my vehicle at a stop light in my car. You think that since you were the victim everything should be settled easily, not so. It is a drawn out mess.

Haha I smell a tradition in the making. Nice of you.
Yep, I think so. I will happily make them for family and some for them to share at their various offices.

We’ve put together a couple of treadmills. If you can get delivery & professional installation, I urge you to do so. They are unbelievably awkward heavy in the box and the belt can be troublesome to adjust properly. It’s scary to be on one & it loosens up and slides on you
Will do.

So, I found a nice caliphon one a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, that non stick hard adonized type. Would you believe I forgot all about it? Duh. Glad you mentioned it. It was sitting out in the present pile in the room I’m using for wrapping lol
Sounds like a nice purchase. I had been needing a new roasting pan for awhile and finally found one.

ugh. Sending healing thoughts and light to her.
Thank you Pumkinpkin.

I hope it goes away for you. They are not fun. My barometer brain is always acting up. Excedrine. Advil and gatorade are my best friends.
Today is better so medicine is working.

Another cold day this morning. It was 26 degree when I woke up. Still have a dusting of snow on the grass.

Head feeling some better today, so meds are doing the job. Sinuses are mess, but will take sometime to get that cleared up.

Hubby felt strong enough to go to Sports store to look at the Treadmill he wanted. We are glad to support local businesses. They had an electric cart so he rode that as the treadmills were way in the back of this big sports store. The young man who helped was so sweet. We got hubby on the display model and he got the key and started it up. Hubby like it so when we were done we went to the front of the store to pay for it and the pad that goes under it and the cash register’s went down.

Was cyber Monday and a lot of local businesses were having issues with their electronic registers. So I had to come back in a couple of hours when the machines came back up and finish the purchase.

I have a EGD early Friday morning. Part of my required things that go along with having UC. When you have that you also have a smattering of Crohns that affects the upper GI also. Will be glad to get that over.

Need to get out to pick up some meat this morning.

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Ruth - hope you get to see your brother soon and that they are taking good care of him and keeping him
He is getting radiation to his brain, but he's only got that one small tumor so they say they can get rid of it with one treatment. He is only opting for treatment that will make him feel better as the disease progresses.
It was COLD and snowy. We got almost 2 feet of snow over the weekend.
Wow, Pumpkin, you win the snow trophy LOL. We only got a couple of inches of snow and I still griped about that! It's here to stay til next Spring, the same as your I bet. I'm used to the cold and snow now but I always resist at first:)
been told it's raining by pt's coming in today. Such wacky weather
We are past rain now, just wind and snow, and cold. I would welcome some rain weather
I seen you posted just before I hit " Post reply" I'm also in the camp of being the family hairdresser. I used to be a hair dresser in my 20's. I didn't return to behind the chair after I had the boys. I didn't miss it.
It sounds like you had some bad experiences being a hairdresser. People can be so demanding at times.
Yep, look forward to some pictures along the way......have an absolute blast Janet!!!
I second that comment:) Have a wonderful trip Janet!
I have PF too, I definitely limits my shoe selection and barefoot is out as well
I have to join the PF club too. I was told to massage my foot from the bottom to the top Only! It seems to help when it's hurting.
26 degrees. Cool? Yes. 72 in my car, with heated seat on.
Love the heated seats too. We don't have the heated steering wheel but would love to have that too. My hands get cold and stay that way all winter, it seems:)
Woke up in the middle of the night with my head pounding. Took a look outside and of course the winds are howling. Took my dr meds as the OTC stuff wouldn't make a dent in this whopper. A chinook moved in
That's the perfect recipe for a migraine: windy, rainy, then cold and snowy. Ick! That bothers me too. It is funny but the snow blinds me more than the sun does, so I wear my sunglasses all winter.
Hubby felt strong enough to go to Sports store to look at the Treadmill he wanted
Despite all the delays, I am glad he got the treadmill that he wanted, and that he is doing better. I hope your daughter in law's surgery for her knees goes well and she doesn't have to wait too long.
I have a EGD early Friday morning. Part of my required things that go along with having UC. When you have that you also have a smattering of Crohns that affects the upper GI also. Will be glad to get that over.
Robo: My grandson has UC and is having another acute flare up. He has lost so much weight, again, and can't keep anything inside. He is trying to live a normal life with working every day, but it is a struggle. The doctor won't change his med, even though it's not working.
He has an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis in January, and I can't wait for him to see one of their doctors. Maybe they can help him. It's rough watching him go through this.
How long have you had it and are you on meds now. You can PM me if you don't want to talk about it online. Thanks.

Carole, it looks like you have joined the PF club too. It's aggravating trying to find something that helps your feet. I wear sketchers slip ons most of the time and they are so comfy. I wore them the whole time we were at Universal and never had sore feet.
I hope your appointment goes well.

I always enjoy seeing what you are fixing for lunch and supper. It inspires me. Congratulations on your new cookware. I bought a set of Club Aluminum when we got married and I still have it. It is a wonderful durable set to last me that long:)

Well, I'm back again. I really enjoyed reading all of you guys posts while I was unable to participate. I feel good enough to talk about it now, and it's nice to have you all on this board to talk with. He had his brain radiation today and is awaiting other results. He is getting a lot of help from lots of people with food and things like that. It is a waiting game now and we take every day as it comes. He is my only brother - only sibling since I don't have any sisters. It's always been him and me. He has always been protective and has stepped in to help me many times. I'm feeling kind of weepy, so will stop now.

I quit sending out Christmas cards a while ago. I do send them to distant relatives, but that's it. I don't have the tree up yet, but I did put up the wall hangings and decorations. I have only bought the great grandkids gifts this early. TJMaxx has some really cute toys and reasonably priced too.
Our new great granddaughter arrived on November 22nd. She has dark brown hair and is so cute. Her name is Eleanor Diane. She is named after grandmothers.
Having a new baby around helps with what we are going through. I made a blanket earlier and will take that when we visit this Friday:) Roger, Robin, and I are making the 2 1/2 hour trip to see the little one, and I can't wait!

Have a good rest of the week everyone,

ruth

Those headaches are awful to deal with, hope they ease soon and yes, I do believe weather can impact them too.

Yep, heated seats, heated steering wheel and automated start where we can start the car from the comfort of our sitting room or anywhere close is essential in all future cars, all of our cars for the last 10-15 years have had those features and won`t be without them, especially the automated start, priceless. No more scraping windscreens on those mornings!

We tried Yellowstone, couldn`t quite get into it, but it`s very popular.

Hope you have a good day.

Good morning everyone :wave2:

Yes, Le Creuset last forever, nothing wrong with the ones we had, just fancied a change, I do love their products.

Good luck on Friday, hope the sinuses are clear by then. Tummy issues are no joke, yes, fingers crossed all goes well for you.

ruth

Aww Ruth, I thought luke was getting so much better, sorry to hear he`s not doing so good again. He`s far too young to be going through so much. Continued good wishes for him and of course your brother too, it`s not easy being so far away.

Anf you have Friday to look forward to, seeing the new baby will bring a smile to your face i`m sure, they`ll love seeing all of you.

Well, not new to PF I`ve been troubled by it for over 20 years, last cortisone injection was 2010, so I`m very careful and try to avoid stressing it by doing stretches and wearing correct shoes. Doesn`t stop me wearing high heels now and again.....ssshhhh, don`t tell my friend P!!!

MRI didn`t go so well. Will fill you in later.

Cold one again tonight, not long finished dinner, but having a large, very large glass of wine, yep, I deserve it tonight.

Pot of tea coming up with a slice of fruit cake, then some kind of Christmas movie after I call my sister.

Dentist tomorrow, not looking forward to that at all.

Nice night to be inside cosy and warm!!!
