Something About Nothing............ #14

Safe travels today, Charade.

Sympathies to Schumi, so sad to hear of passing of a family member.

Back to routine, with another of our wall to walk sunny days. Though yesterday was 68 the high. Today? 56. Jacket on this morning. 47 out now.

Sigh, when the alarm went off, I was like crap, was trying to get back to sleep. I was awake earlier, due to DH being awake, and needing help, an hour before the alarm went off. Sigh again, but at least 2 more days, before another three day weekend. Woot!

And, as of this Thursday, two Thursdays later, and it’s already the end of the month time, and our Thanksgiving. Where, yay, bonus 4 day weekend that week we enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

But today, Taco time. Most Terrific Taco Tuesday to all. 🌮 ::yes::

Oooh, :santa: now next month. where a 5 day weekend week that holiday week.

Ruth so good to hear you had a nice time on your vacation with hour son.

Pumpkin I saw your trip report when I looked in today. So good you are sharing your time at the parks. I look forward to reading more.

Charade happy trails on your vacation. Have a great time.

Janet please share by condolences with Carole and Tom if you hear from them. I was sorry to hear about Tom’s brother passing. It is hard to loose a sibling. I will be remembering them all in my prayers as they say their goodbyes.

Mac hope you are doing well.

Janet I hope you are doing well after your bout of illness.

My hubby stopped progressing and was a little dehydrated. So last Wednesday he had to go back to the hospital for a couple days. He is now in a rehabilitation hospital getting some therapy to get stronger. I told him it is just a little strength tune up.

I finished getting the house decorated for Christmas so when he gets home it will be like walking into a cheerful Christmas wonderland.

While I was visiting hubby yesterday evening at the hospital I received a call from our son that our daughter in law had been hit by a car while they were out riding their bikes.

They were in the bike lane and the driver of the car was not paying attention. Daughter in law and son had pulled up to the stop sign and stopped and then started again when the car hit her. The driver basically did a rolling stop.

My heart fell into my stomach when I asked if the driver had stopped to help them. Our son said, the driver had to stop as my daughter in law and the bike were under the front of drivers car.

She was at the emergency room at the main hospital across the parking lot from the rehab hospital where hubby is. So I was able to go and see her. I just needed to get eyes on her and make sure she was doing ok and comfort her, son and family as everyone was pretty shook up.

She is thankfully doing ok. She is bruised and scrapped up, but no broken bones or tendon tears as far as they can see. She went home with meds and she will be sore for a while. Prayers answered.

If anything this last month has taught me, it is to hold your family closer, love them more then ever and never take for granted their presence in your life.

Sending lots of prayers to our Sans family as everyone and their family goes through their medical journeys and the losses of loved ones.

Quick Taco Tuesday stop in!

We had a light dusting of snow overnight. It was just enough to make the roads this morning nice and slick :rolleyes2 OH well, the joys of living in the north.

I/We didn't win the lotto - so back to work today :surfweb: It helps to pay the bills - and help to pay for the next vacation(s). That's all we want to do! Dh is already scoping out and planning our next adventure. We are looking at a cruise. As much as we want a nice warm holiday -a cruise might be the only way for us to do it this year. We have heard from tooooooooo many people we know about the violence in Mexico and needed armed guards and military assistance to get to their resorts from the airports. I'm thinking this is the perfect time for us to try a cruise!

I'm thinking today will be a fend for yourself night. I have a nail appointment. It is long overdue. I had it scheduled for right after work, then he seen he was double booked. So I don't have to be there until 5:30. So I'm thinking everyone will just need to figure out what to eat with whatever is in the fridge.

@Charade67 - I hope your flights went great with zero hassles.

@Lynne G - I woke up tired too. But my excuse was I was watching shows and starting the trip report. I didn't think I would have as much fun starting it write it as I did! I am enjoying writing it out and reliving it again!

@Robo56 - I love your phrasing for your dh's visit to a rehab hospital. Your family's guardian angels were definitely looking out for your daughter-in-law!!! Life can change in the blink of an eye. I will be sending lots of light and love to you and your family.

Well, I should get back to work and get some things checked off my to-do list.

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Mr Mac and I flipped a coin and I won.

He did the run to Publix for groceries an hour ago.

I ignored his whining and told him he is a better shopper than me.
I love to what's called " click and collect" here. I place my order online - pick the time I want to pick up my groceries. Drive up to the building and pop open my hatch - and they put the groceries into my vehicle for me. I love it!!! I run into the other places to make a quick stop for fresh produce I don't want them to pick out for me....then I'm on my way home.

I have rarely asked dh to stop and pick something up on his way home from work. He will - but it also not without hearing a bit of whining.

I hope he got all the items you asked for.

We have arrived and are in our room. Here is the good part of our view.

And the not so good

Oh well, it’s not like we will be spending a lot of time staring out the window.

They still have the retro toiletries

I finished getting the house decorated for Christmas so when he gets home it will be like walking into a cheerful Christmas wonderland.
That will be such a nice thing for him to return home to.

While I was visiting hubby yesterday evening at the hospital I received a call from our son that our daughter in law had been hit by a car while they were out riding their bikes.
Prayers for your DIL. Very thankful that she was not seriously injured.

Dh is already scoping out and planning our next adventure.
I have the next 2 planned. Dh wants to plan a trip to the UK. I suggested he consult with a travel agent.

I hope your flights went great with zero hassles.
Other than the screeching toddlers it was uneventful.

We need to decide on what to do for dinner and make a grocery order. I’m not sure if we will just stay at the hotel tonight or go to Citywalk.

spent majority of day shopping online & at a couple local stores to try and wirk on xmas list. translate to exercise and fun in my book. i hate being cooped up in house

But today, Taco time. Most Terrific Taco Tuesday to all.

Oh well, it’s not like we will be spending a lot of time staring out the window.

look toward the horizon. :).

agree, if no balcony, would think most spend littke time standing at window

I just made a silky mistake. I placed an Instacart order, 6 pack of cherry Coke, 6 pack of bottled water, sunscreen, and assorted snacks. I accidentally added a 32 pack of bottled water to my order. We have no use for that much water. It has now been donated to the resort. Thankfully it only cost a little over $5.

Dinner was at the Bayliner Diner. Decent food. Large portions.

Night view

Charade, glad you made it safely there, and have a nice enough view from your room. Oops to that water order. We learned, we buy soda and a 6 pack of water bottles. And we always like snacks in the room. Enjoy the parks today. Looks like a warmer one, as saw 81 the high, with it 69 out now.

Unlike my view in the city today. Overlooking a storage place. And ah, not winter yet but. Yeah, frost warning issued last night. Had to scrape some ice off my car window. Sigh.

Wore shorts on Monday, and wool blend pants today, with a sweater and winter type puffy jacket. Seems testing of the heating systems in my office is today and tomorrow. If no repairs needed, they will turn on the heat next week. Why I have that extra large cup of tea this morning. Cool feeling inside, and even cooler outside. Though, full day of sun today too, as clear overnight have us, that oh so cooler start.

But yay, we are already in that middle of the week, when who do I see?

IMG_3707.jpeg

Yep, he’s ready for our cooler weather, and might be visiting Pumpkin, who has already seen that winter white four letter word.

Wonderful Wednesday here. Where, get over this hump of a day feeling, and a Fabulous Friday feeling day, a lazy one for me this week, then a day away. Woot!

Oh Robo, glad she is okay, after being hit by a car. So scary. And hope your DH is getting better.

Time for refill. Good Morning all.

Quick morning stop in!

Quiet night last night. I didn't get home until after 7:00. But the nails are done now and looking good for a few weeks again. Groceries are topped up for the week. I won't be able to make any excuses and get out of cooking.

I started another page on the trip report - then got tired as I was up way too late the night before. So I headed to bed early.

It was a crisp morning. The forecast is calling for snow all afternoon, evening and night. We will see how much accumulation we get and if it stays. The forecast is still fairly mild for the next 2 weeks.

We are heading to dd's tonight for dinner. She needs help moving her old couch into their garage and moving the new one into the house. So if she needs muscle - she will need to feed her dad and brothers  I figure that's a good exchange.

Well...back to work. I'm wishing my tea cup was bigger this morning. I sure could use another one.
