Quick Tuesday morning stop in!
We got a nice dusting of snow on top of the freezing rain we got yesterdayAnd people wonder why I hate winter. Anyway...better topics to chat about.
DD messaged late yesterday afternoon she didn't want to cook and son-in-law was working late. So dd and gd came over for dinner. Found a few extra things to add stretch it out. It was nothing special - butter chicken (sauce from a jar) as I don't know if I could make a good one from scratch.
Dh is heading out of town today- just for the night. So I told ds's it's fend for yourself tonight. I'm having girl dinner tonight - not sure what I want - but it will be something easy with zero dishes!!!!! It might be just chips and dip
@keishashadow I hope your now resting and that everything went well for you.
@schumigirl I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. Losing someone who is young is always heart breaking. Enjoy your tea!
@Lynne G I hope your kiddos enjoyed the hockey game. I love going to the games. Sadly - it's just so expensive, so we don't take in many. I would rather spend those $$$ on travel. I'm hoping 8 years till I retire or at least work part-time - casual.
Well, I should try to get some things done here today. I have my to-do list that needs to get started
Have a great day everyone!
Thank you, it was a huge shock, he hadn`t been ill apparently, sad to see any family member pass, but no age at all.
Yep, you know me, tea is my drink!!
Have a good one.
Janet, heal quickly and rest up.
sending gentle hugs.
Yes, think she`ll be glad of some of them, she has a good man looking after her though!
I'm enjoying reading about all your meals. Maybe I'll be inspired to try something new. Usually that ends up with me buying the ingredients and making the plan, and then my fiance offering to do the actual cooking while I'm working or at the gym, which is a very nice arrangement. He finds cooking relaxing and I do not.
I am finalizing wedding plans, but spending more time planning the honeymoon. We have one day at Disney that will be complex and expensive (except the hotel, which my overly generous friend is gifting us). Except for a few restaurant reservations, my Universal plans are mostly wander over in the late morning and use the hotel express pass. A completely different experience than Disney.
I am trying to decide how to introduce my fiance to the parks. My kids and I always start with IoA (The Adventure Begins) and Marvel. He's a Marvel fan like me. But we're rewatching all the HP movies, and I'm wondering if it makes more sense to start with US, so we can ride the Hogwarts Express from London like we're going to Hogwarts? But maybe I want to build up to the amazing experience that is Diagon Alley? This is a fun thing to ponder when I can't fall asleep.![]()
Happy planning, and that is a lovely gift from your friend.
I do love cooking too, but always enjoy meals out and take out on occasion too. Happy balance.
I don't want to work today. I could just dream the day away. Is it 4:00 yet?
lol.....sorry, not yet!!
Another busyish day, we can hear the fireworks already in the distance, our village cricket club should be starting soon, we can see them from up here if we go upstairs, but, not bothered at all. My friends dogs, well two out of three have their thunder jackets on, Kaiser the German Shepherd never blinks an eye, but tries to comfort the smaller dogs which is so cute.
Dinner was nice, Tom is making us a pot of tea and I baked some shortbread today, so will have some of that with it.
Chilly out there and we can smell the autumn if we pop outside, won`t be going out anywhere tonight.
Tea is ready.....tv time for an hour I think.
