Something About Nothing............ #14

Yep, and still have a ticket book from my first visit, Keisha. Crazy prices for much now. Including sports and concert tickets. Why we get APs, over the years. But yay, train travel not too bad in price, even if the local train changed the parking fee, that was a dollar, to two dollars. Hehe, train trip fun this month.

Yay, Pumpkin’s trip is ever that so close now. Hope you feel better today. Will be enjoying some much warmer weather by the weekend.

Ah, who do I see?

IMG_3683.jpeg

Yep, a camel enjoying this Fall month, and still reminding all, a mid week day is here, the one we call Wednesday, where get over this hump of a day feeling, and yay, Friday then a day away. Woot!

59 degrees, though still had my AC on in the car, and home. Still that cloud covered sky, but 71 degrees this afternoon as the high. But no rain in them clouds, at least that what weather news lady said early this morning. Hope she is right.

Ah, DH may be going to out-patient status soon. Will be nice to have him home very soon.

That week where, yay DH comes home and that deserves a longer weekend, three day one. Woot!

Most Wonderful Wednesday to all.

Just saw your post…it’s steak for us tonight.

Still having decent weather with the ac still on.

Always enjoy a good steak!

Yep, good weather here too funnily enough lol…

Well, just a little :). I paid a few more bucks during my 1st visit in ‘77…

I was a baby :rolleyes1

Look @ that ticket price lol

Tom still has his ticket from 1982 somewhere, it was a ridiculous price in comparison!

Yep, seems I do say YEP a lot……(sorry mum)

Heading out for the day, some park time this morning hitting the favourites followed by hopefully some oysters for lunch! We’ve been spoiled by this place, no oyster will ever be the same again!

One of the club lounge ladies asked to see our pictures of an empty Splash Mountain line, no one else there and we rode it again and again without getting off! Fabulous times before the September crowds started!

Gorgeous day ahead……heading over for breakfast first, ready for that first cup of tea!!!

Quick hump day stop in - before I get to work this morning.

People always wonder why I don't like fall and detest winter. This morning is a prime example of why. I woke up to a rain/snow mix this morning. No wonder my head felt like it was going to explode :furious: Already - the cool/cold weather is here...and it's only October :rolleyes2

Son-in-law arrived last night. He said it his him as he was driving into the city last night - he's not leaving and that the trip he's on is not just a visiting the outlaws trip. He also said gd asked if they could live with Gramps and Grams forever :rotfl: Her dad said "Nope...but you will get to visit whenever you want" which is probably true.

Dinner last night was taco in a bag. Trying to use up what is in the fridge and freezer. I thought that was a good way to use up some of the last few items in the fridge. I'll have to go through my veggie drawer tonight. I think tonight is going to be Salisbury steak and mashed tatters with caesar salad and maybe I scrape up some corn out of the pantry. I don't think I have any other fresh veg in the fridge. Tomorrow night is butter chicken and naan bread.

it’s steak for us tonight.
YUMMY! I hope it was cooked perfect!!!

Look @ that ticket price lol
Gosh - we can only dream of those prices!!!!!!!
DH may be going to out-patient status soon. Will be nice to have him home very soon.
That is great news!

Sounds like a perfect day!

Well, I should get going...work work work :surfweb:

Have a great day everyone!!!

Quick lunchtime post. This has been a strange week with the boss out all week. I like the quiet though.
Disney released some 2025 discounts yesterday. I didn’t save a ton of money, but every little bit helps.

Everybody loves Scooby Doo!!
It’s become sort of a tradition for me to get a new Scooby shirt before I go to Universal.

Look @ that ticket price lol
That is so crazy. Did they charge separately for rides back then or was this the only cost?

We went the first week of October in 1996 and there were no crowds. I miss those days.

I woke up to a rain/snow mix this morning.
That’s crazy. You need to move farther south.

My first trip to WDW was in 1989. MGM Studios had just opened. I was 21, but acted like a little kid every time I saw a character. I think I still have my park maps from that trip.

I will leave you today with a sad story. Many years ago I decided I wanted a piggy bank to store loose change. I had difficulty finding a pig shaped bank. I eventually acquired a couple of small banks. One day I was in Helen, GA and spotted a huge piggy bank. I had to have it. I have had this bank for over 30 years. Longer than I have been with my husband. Yesterday dh slipped and fell on my pig leaving a 3 inch hole in her back.

My poor piggy. I’m going to try to find a cork stopper for the hole.

Kyle said he was running 22 miles on Sunday as part of marathon training and said it was 38F! I feel your pain, it’s seems incredibly early for wintery weather yet!

It’ll be so lovely to see your little one anytime now they’re close by, absolutely priceless!

Hope the parks are as quiet for you as they have been for us this week, almost every EP line has been a complete walk on and even regular lines haven’t seemed too bad for those without EP.

You reminded me we used to have piggy banks when we were young, mum and dads bank gave them out and they were various colours to choose from and had the name of the bank on them, but they were proper piggies. Not sure what happened to mine!

Yes, stick something on top to cover the hole, it would be a shame to just throw it away.

Beautiful day, we had a nice little breeze this morning that felt very refreshing, but my goodness the heat soon built up nicely.

As I said to Pumpkin, parks have been quiet, yesterday in the hotel lobby there was no one around, apart from us and few TM’s, never seen Sapphire lobby deserted in the middle of the day before.

Park time was lovely this morning and yep, we did enjoy oysters and shrimp for lunch! I’m so glad we found this little gem of a place!

I think the next few days are planned out, have some friends to see and something new to experience this weekend, looking forward to it!!!

Happy Wednesday!!!

For giggles, I tried new scrub brush and bathtub foaming cleaner that Amazon deposited @ doorstop. Not sure what that says about me that I was too excited to wait. Zep foaming btw, 2paws up!

Did some pulling of my clothes for trip. First cull as I call it. Will grab the Mr tomorrow to give Aik in what I pull out of his closet. If I let him pack himself would bring a couple shirts & shorts

Waiting for inspiration to strike. Took out a couple of large boneless breasts from freezer. Thinking Cajun style, trying to use up last of garden peppers & cherry tomatoes. Toss in some spinach over pasta. Should be good to go

Just got an email reminder tomorrow the day to make wdw ADRs for Dec trip. Meanwhile, I'm still staring at this one trying to figure out if I'm going to book anything.

He's a wee bit sinister
Ah, DH may be going to out-patient status soon. Will be nice to have him home very soon.
Good news! It's been such a long time, I'm sure he's itching to get home

Oh, no...

You didn't...

You said that dreaded four-letter word that begins with an "S"!

I'm not having it :p
He also said gd asked if they could live with Gramps and Grams forever
lol so cute!
That is so crazy. Did they charge separately for rides back then or was this the only cost?
No E ticket that I recall. Also, the lines were basically walk on
Yesterday dh slipped and fell on my pig leaving a 3 inch hole in her back.
even tho he maimed your piggie bank, only seems proper to ask if he's ok
My poor piggy. I’m going to try to find a cork stopper for the hole.
How about, since the Mr made the hole...

He fills it

I suggest he roll up a pile of dollar bills and stuff the piggie Ala a cork
lol
Kyle said he was running 22 miles on Sunday as part of marathon training and said it was 38F!
Holy smokes! That's dedication

Inquiring minds need to know where 😇

Love the sound of Cajun anything! And yes, I do love a new cleaning product too!

Oh Lordy, yep, his dedication to running is something to behold!!! He has a talent for it for sure.

Lee & Rick’s again! It was even better today if that was possible, pictures to follow 🦪🦪🦪

Had another amazing day! I don’t think we’ve wasted a minute of this trip.

Tonight, spent the evening with Fernando in Strong Water Bar, it was so quiet so we sat sampling rums!

Met a lady called Angela who had a picture with us, she forgot her phone so we took it, got her email and promptly lost it! Doh! She’ll send me it I’m sure. Nice lady who reads the Dis, but never posts.

Trying to decide what to do tomorrow right now……decisions!

I am alone in the office today. My boss is working from home. She could come in, but is taking extra precautions after having Covid. The other therapist took today off for a weekend trip. I am enjoying the quiet.

why don’t you put some flowers in it to cover the hole?
Caspian would probably chew on them.

As I said to Pumpkin, parks have been quiet,
I hope the parks are kind of quiet when we go in November.

Just got an email reminder tomorrow the day to make wdw ADRs for Dec trip. Meanwhile, I'm still staring at this one trying to figure out if I'm going to book anything.
I am going to try to book Hoop Dee Doo, but that’s the only reservation. We’re just going to wing it for the rest of the trip.

even tho he maimed your piggie bank, only seems proper to ask if he's ok
He’s fine. He basically just slipped and sat on the pig. No harm to him at all.

This is going to be a very slow day.

Quick Thirsty Thursday stop in before getting some things done today

Busyish evening yesterday. I got a last minute appointment for my nails right after work. By the time I got home - it was too late to cook as I had not taken out my ground meat out to thaw. So pizza it was last night. Tonight I am making butter chicken. And yup, it's not from scratch but from a jar. Quick and easy.

We went with son-in-law to look at a house. It was a great home with good bones and you could tell it was well maintained. They put an offer in on it late last night. So we will see how it goes.

Another cold morning again today. Yesterday was cold all day. the forecast for here is calling for a decently warm weekend. My head feels like another swing is about to happen. Gotta love having barometer brain :rolleyes2

A little laundry tonight. Toss the last of the items into the suitcase - then we are off!!!!!!!!! We are just crossing out fingers that the the last flight tonight comes in tonight - as that is the one we take out bright and early tomorrow morning - or else we won't be arriving in Orlando until very late tomorrow night or even Saturday depending on how fast they can correct it. The joys of living in a small rural isolated community.

I will leave you today with a sad story.
I hope your dh is ok. I like Kiesha's idea to plug the hole! But she would look pretty with some flowers in her as well
Hope the parks are as quiet for you as they have been for us this week, almost every EP line has been a complete walk on and even regular lines haven’t seemed too bad for those without EP.
I am crossing my fingers as many of the crowd calendars were saying that it will be lower crowds. We also have 5 days of universal park days - so we can take our time doing them....and not have to race and try to fit everything in that we want in a short period of time.
Kyle said he was running 22 miles on Sunday as part of marathon training and said it was 38F! I feel your pain, it’s seems incredibly early for wintery weather yet!
It does seem early - but that's what happens when I live in Santa land. Wow...22 miles  That's incredible!!!! My knees ache just hearing that number
For giggles, I tried new scrub brush and bathtub foaming cleaner
hehehehe. I'm glad you liked it. I have a Zep cleaner I also use for my bathroom that I can only get at one store here. It works great and requires less elbow grease along with my handy pole scrubber. Work smarter - not harder ;)

At least She is being considerate. I know upstairs - they had to send one admin home. She came in sick. After lots of evil eyes and management asking her to mask up it turns out she was positive for covid. She works in a cancer centre!!!! Use your head.....we accumulate lots of sick time for that exact reason....STAY HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't be bringing that into that unit (especially the chemo unit) where people's immune systems are next to nothing :furious: :sad2:

Well, I should get a few thing prepared for next week.

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Good morning everyone :wave2:

Good news- the kids have accepted an offer on their home. They had multiple offers, and picked one with a tight timeline. It sounds like the plan is once we get home from Florida - gd will be coming here to stay here, so dd can pack up what's left at the house. Son-in-law will take gd to daycare (she already has a spot at one) and I will be able to pick her up when I'm done work until dad gets back from work.
Great to hear your daughter and her hubby sold their home.

Awwwww, Little J is 5!!!! That's a big milestone. Build a bear is an amazing place. We could never afford to take dd there when she was little - since then - we have bought several for her and gd :rotfl: I tried to make it up to dd as a teenager/adult.
The lady’s that work at the Build a Bear in our Mall are really nice and good with the little one’s. I’am sure your granddaughter and daughter have enjoyed your gifts to them from there. There is a lot of nice options to choose from.

Happy belated birthday to him.
Thank you Charade. He had a special day out of his birthday.

Dinner last night was taco in a bag. Trying to use up what is in the fridge and freezer. I thought that was a good way to use up some of the last few items in the fridge. Sounds like some nice meals you have planned.

You will be leaving for your trip in no time now.

I will leave you today with a sad story. Many years ago I decided I wanted a piggy bank to store loose change. I had difficulty finding a pig shaped bank. Sorry to hear about your Piggy Bank. Understand your attachment to something so meaningful to you. Finding a stopper sounds like a nice repair idea.

Glad to hear you hubby was not injured.

Carole enjoy your lizard weather. Sounds like you have had some nice days in the parks.

Janet always nice to find other products that make housekeeping easier.

Mac hope you are doing well and faired ok with all the weather last week.

I have seen some of the photos and videos of the devastation that was caused in Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee. It is heartbreaking.

We have finally moved into Fall like weather in the mornings here. Temps have been in the upper 50’s low 60’s warming up to upper 70’s during the day.

Hubby had his preop appointment with the Surgeon on Tuesday. He had some test done and all came out good. His surgery is planned for early Wednesday morning next week. He is having surgery at the hospital I retired from.

Have a few things to do in the yard today it is going to be pleasant to be outside with the weather cooler.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

My phone is so wacky today
keep getting glitches again.
lol…..that’s always annoying, I saw you quoted me above but didn’t give a reply! Technology!

Safe travels Pumpkin, hope you have a wonderful trip!!

Another late night……that’s Strong Water for you! Then again, watched the beautiful sunrise over RP from the sitting room while sleeping beauty sleeps!

IMG_3786.jpeg

Lazy morning here, meeting some folks for lunch, not sure where yet, and want to catch some folks this morning too if we can.

Some last minute shopping this afternoon……

1728041136971.jpeg

Tonight is something a little different too! Looking forward to that and going to enjoy our last few days for this trip!

Happy Friday :sunny: :sunny:

The Mr ate his first stuffed banana peppers yesterday. The dark spots are toasted basil leaves. Yum. Everything but meat came from the garden, including marinara. Mr picky who doesn't eat red sauce, now a convert!
IMG_3620.jpeg

getting ready to give pooch a bath, then do some serious packing

Friday night lights rivalry game tonight

Mac - treat yourself. u need both a new phone & an iPad (with lots of storage & a keyboard case). That pecking away on phone to type is for the birds

Carole sounds like you might need 2 bags lol. Enjoy the special event!
He’s fine. He basically just slipped and sat on the pig. No harm to him at all.
Oh, that had to be a sight. Surprising piggie didn't fare worse
They put an offer in on it late last night. So we will see how it goes.
Good lucks to them!
It was a great home with good bones and you could tell it was well maintained
110%. So many out there over-priced, lip stick on a pig sort
We are just crossing out fingers that the the last flight tonight comes in tonight
should be flying the friendly skies by now!
and not have to race and try to fit everything in that we want in a short period of time
Yes, sounds jam packed. You can sleep when back home lol. We just miss you
Work smarter - not harder ;)
Absolutely
and management asking her to mask up it turns out she was positive for covid. She works in a cancer centre!!!! Use your head
Um, file it under what was she thinking!
I have seen some of the photos and videos of the devastation that was caused in Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee. It is heartbreaking.
It's difficult to take the scope of it in. Pack mules? Hundreds still missing in NC? Unthinkable
His surgery is planned for early Wednesday morning next week. He is having surgery at the hospital I retired from.
Prayers for a speedy recovery for him! Is it out patient?

I'm trying not to think about my own that I pushed out for several months, scheduled a couple days after we get back on 22nd.
