Good evening. Not much to write about today. Today was church, lunch, NASCAR, and football.

Very sad to wake up to the news Matthew Perry has passed away. I don`t know anyone who doesn`t know almost every episode of Friends. Such a shame and only 54.

I was shocked and saddened. I’m not really a fan, but he was too young. I watched Friends for the first few seasons, but eventually stopped watching.

The makeup gal they hired this year is ‘da bomb.

November 5th is Guy Fawkes Night/Bonfire Night......an event I loathe with a passion. Fireworks go off everywhere for weeks not just on the night.

Would you believe I have never been to a bonfire? The university is having one the night before the next football game and I plan to attend. I love fireworks as long as they are done by a professional. They used to be illegal in Georgia where I grew up. People would go to neighboring states to by them.

My day is made

Don't hate me - I've never and won't watch " game of thrones" not my cup of tea! I'm sure there are other shows I've never seen.

I have never watched Game of Thrones or any of the Walking Dead. Neither appeal to me.

I blinked and it was Sunday night! Good thing I took a day off tomorrow and am using some of my vacation days.

I ended up going into the homecare job yesterday. Went to sit down after getting up with my morning coffee and muffin and seen that there was a shift available. So I picked it up. I got in a little bit later than we normally do, and it took a little bit to get things sorted, but it was a chaotic day. Lots of people calling off sick. There is a nasty something going around. And yes - that "C" word is making a rise again. One of our seniors homes is on outbreak right now. Which makes staffing a HUGE issue. No mixing different homes or community shifts.

Dh is out of town tonight. He and a few other owners were invited by a supplier to go to the hockey game tonight - Edmonton Vs Calgary at the outdoor rink. He's been sending me tons of pictures and it looks like he's having a great time.

I did the grocery shopping today - I remembered why we always go earlier in the morning. Ugh...luckily the lines were not bad when I was in them for checkout. After I went through I seen the lines starting lol.

I whipped up some salsa today with the tomatoes my mom gave to me. I'm just waiting for it to cool so we can taste what didn't fit into jars to can/seal. I combined my mom's recipe and ones I found online. I guess we will see. But I definitely liked freezing them first. As they thaw - they release all the extra water and the peels just fall off. If it works - next year I will grow some of these tomatoes from seed - as they are a great meaty tomato. Don't ask me what variety it is - I have ZERO clue.

Tomorrow I want to whip up my pasta sauce that I have in my freezer from my own tomatoes.


It is on the rise again. It is going to be just like colds/flues for the years to come.

As much as that sucks - if it's healing correctly - that's all the counts.

I have to hide ours - dh has a huge sweet tooth. I buy some candy to give out - and some just for dh and our boys.

It is not everyone's cup of tea.

I love Friends and still laugh while watching and repeating all the lines as well. We are also Big Bang Theory family too.

It is incredibly sad that Matthew Perry passed away. His book is amazing - if anyone like autobiographies.

It is a long process - but it will be worth it in the end.

It took me a long time to get into GoT, but glad I did, however as you say some things are not for everyone. Friends, BBT, Mike & Molly and Two and a half men are all shows we can watch to fill a gap, and yes, still funny. I think we manage to bring a Friends quote into our conversations every day. I have his book, just haven`t read it yet, my friend said it`s an incredible read.

Yes, implant will be worth it when it`s done.

Fresh tomatoes are amazing and fresh salsa is hard to beat.

I have never watched Game of Thrones or any of the Walking Dead. Neither appeal to me.

Walking Dead bored me after a while, I don`t like anything Zombie related, but I gave it a try.

The ads have started now reminding folks how they upset pets and veterans, but it is a huge things over here. Bonfires less so now, but as a child they were everywhere. Now huge fireworks that sound as if they should be in a war zone are fall sale everywhere. Some "almost" silent firework displays are starting to appear but they are rare.

We don`t watch the BBC either, if they told me my name was Carole I`d go check my birth certificate. They`re not known as the Biased Broadcasting Company for nothing.




I was so tired when we went to bed last night, it crept up on me so quickly. And slept like a top!

This morning will drop off the baked stuff to the hall, will leave the decorating to the ones who want to do it and go back tonight to help out a little, will be fun to see them dressed up. Will pick up my list of treats and take them tonight. Dropping a congratulations on your new job card to one of my friends kids, she`s at University but part time she is going to be a life guard at the leisure centre, very proud of her as she overcame a fear of water to become a first class swimmer and earlier this year she qualified to be a life guard. That`ll keep her busy.

Kyle was telling us he is doing a Halloween 10K run tonight in the dark!!! Honestly.....they have to wear a head torch as naturally, it`s going to be pitch black, he has one that he uses when he is out with the telescope. He and most of his running group are not dressing up but he is going to wear his HHN Michael Myers shirt, that`ll work.

So, once shopping is done we`ll get back home, have lunch and get some bits done around the house before going back out to the village hall. It`ll either be a very early dinner or a later one, think we`ll go later.

And almost the end of October.....how`d that happen!! And rain has stopped!!!

Ooh that Monday feeling for sure. Booted up, updates needed. Clicked, have at it. But means can’t do anything else, as it’s updating how it securely connects. Ah, almost done. Yay, back up 10 minutes later. Thankful even with that back to office next year, Mondays are still open for teleworking. It’s one of those things, I used to go every day. But once only telecommuting, found that balance of not every day in, was a much better routine. And coming out of the city last week, I am not looking forward to going into it tomorrow. I hate the stop and go traffic.

Ah that day for bonfires in England. Here, unofficial mischief night. Toilet paper and noisy, and while have never seen it, thankfully, egg tossing into doors. Ugh to Mac who had that happen, and hope it doesn’t ever again, lest even tonight. With the cooler weather, we have had a fire every night in our backyard fire pit. Last night nope. Was even raining when we got back, and throughout the early evening.

But yay, that much cooler weather coming tomorrow, is not today. And the rain has left the area too. But not the clouds. Hehe, yesterday, my one sil texted me she saw a red sunrise. Yeah, it was certainly a sailor’s warning, with the mostly rainy day we had. While sunrise is still about an hour later, think will be a golden sunrise. Though maybe not as bright with cloud covering most of the day. 53 degrees out, so still not that cool overnight quite yet. And yay, last day for shorts on. 72 degrees late this afternoon. Much rather be in Orlando. They are over 10 degrees warmer this morning, and 10 degrees higher than us today. Sigh. Countdown to zero is coming not soon enough.

Most Marvelous Monday for all today. Yay for second to last day of October. Make a little mischief tonight. And to think, Christmas is now less than two month’s away. Woot!

Back to that week day routine and more tea. Was so hungry when I woke up, made oatmeal. Fast and filling. And saying also, have a good Monday morning too, from this up before dawn homie.

Thank you Carole. Looking forward to the boot coming off. When you are in a cast boot it throws everything else out of kilter, back etc. Plantars Fasciitis is doing a lot better. Just need the bone on top of foot to heal up.

I do like your crescent dough instead, that should be a big success at the party.

No trick or treaters here due to where we live, but as we were dropping off our friends anninversary card, got a call asking to help as there is a Halloween party in the village hall Monday night, they`re looking for baking and snack donations as well as Halloween candy. No problem, but thought this had been sorted out....seems not. A few of us will help out and will buy some chocolate bars and sweets tomorrow. Very last minute but we`ll manage.

So nice of you to help out with baking and treats for the Halloween Party at the church.

As mentioned yesterday. Biscoff and Nutella mocha truffles.

We will be putting our trees up very early this year so we don`t have to do them when we come home on Dec 4th. Our house guests are happy the decorations will all be done!!

. Jr was told to just work from home this week. He’s symptomatic, mild, thankfully. That’s what happens when you mandate that employees use PTO when they call off work. . Most don’t want to give up vacation plans they have in place, etc.

I won`t get the actual tooth till the implant part has attached itself to the bone which takes a few months, but I do have the temp one to cover the gap thank goodness. I`ll be glad when Tuesday is over and know that`s the first part done. I think I may be a little grumpy Tuesday night when the numb wears off......lol.......

Sending good healing wishes your way that all goes as planned on Tuesday. Hopefully the dentist will give you something to take to keep you comfortable once the numbing meds wear off.

There are so many things for folks to watch on TV now a days. Something for everyone.





I‘am watching little J for awhile today. I always enjoy my time with him.

I know, I should rent them out for tech service. My grandson's always helped out when they were at home. My one grandson would just shake his head and hit one button and the laptop would work!!!!! Very frustrating. I am doing better with tech but not an expert, LOL.

Glad the PF is healing, that is so painful on it`s own never mind everything else you have with the foot! You`ll be dancing before you know it.....

Thanks, I`m hearing differing reports on how painful it is afterwards, but whatever it is it I`ll deal with it, strong painkillers all the way if needed!

We are all so proud of Freya, her fear of water was intense, so to come through that and become a life guard, well, pride doesn`t begin to describe it. Lovely girl too.

I hope to hear from Kyle later to tell us how he got on, I`m sure they all had a lovely time, there was a cafe staying open near the end of the run so I`m sure some of them went there.

Hope you had a lovely time with the little guy today, always a joy to be around.

lol....thank goodness for technically minded youngsters (and husbands) I do have two friends who I always say could be spies as they can do anything with technology and what they can find out from the internet bewilders me!!! I get by but wish I knew more.






The Halloween party went really well, kids were fantastic and they enjoyed lots of fun and games. One little guy came as Michael Myers, surprised us all with that one. Plenty of food and candy for everyone and they all left happy. They had plenty of helpers to tidy up so we left when all the kiddies and parents left. They very kindly gave the ones that baked and prepared food a gift voucher each, we weren`t looking for anything, but it was a very nice thought.

Stopped off at the chippie on the way home for fish and chips, we were hungry and they were very nice that and a cup of tea was very nice. Now some chilling, peace and quiet after a couple of hours of rowdiness!!! Kids parties are so noisy, but glad we helped it was nice!

Tonight is left overs for dinner.
A little of this and that which is left over pizza and two day old pork chops. Mr Mac will of course do pizza and my eyes are on the pork and applesauce.

Tomorrow I hit Publix for real food … and their desserts.

Going to get some showers this evening and Tuesday will start to warm up… maybe

Ooh little one wanted mac and cheese, older one wanted a hot dog in his, she wanted bacon, and also added some red peppers. Hehe, I took some of both meats, and yum, as how we make our mac and cheese is to combine whatever cheese has been opened, and combines well. So mostly sharp cheddar with some mozzarella, and milder cheddar. Full am I. And oh well, no nothing leftover to take for lunch tomorrow. Now enjoying a cup of tea.

Raining out, as said chance later in day, and phone said light rain for the next 20 minutes. Whatever. We are usually hunkered down in week day nights.

Restless sleep is rough. I’ve been told I’m not a good Napper, as in I’m even grouchier when I wake up. Ergo, I avoid them at all costs

eye dr appt went well, new guy seems very nice. Still find it odd that one sees both an ophthalmologist & optometrist (for different things) now that practice is owned by hospital system. glass script still the same & he was able to write a script for eye drops to help with minor issue I’ve been having. Sometimes change is good. Can’t believe i just said that.

PS it all began in the ‘burg. Pretty sure I didn’t sleep for a week after watching it back in the day. They are coming to get you, Barbara.

Hodor made me cry.....never expected that scene, but explained a whole lot!!! Yes, they should have been hauled over the coals for that crappy ending!

They had a blast. The four girls were ghosts and th eother guy in his group wore a monster mask, Kyle wore his Michael Myers shirt and their story for running together was the girls were ghosts as they had been murdered by MM....lol....they looked really good. They loved the run too despite it being a little muddy after all the rain we`ve had. I`ll send you one of pictures he sent us last night.

That was a scary pic to watch as a teen!!!

Thanks mac.....I have the very strong pain relief on hand, I can only imagine drilling into bone is not going to be pain free when the numb wears off!!!!

Tom has stocked me up with ice cream and custard, I`ve made soup that`s in the freezer for the next few days, so we should be ok.




Finally Halloween.......used to be the day I was so scared of, then I watched the three newest Halloween movies and it ruined that fear for me! I love Jamie Lee Curtis but they ruined the Halloween franchise for me, still enjoy the first one though!

This morning out early to pick up my new spoogles, opticians are always so busy so had to make an appointment, got an early one though. Then Tom wants a new winter hat, so will pick one up from the hiking store, they always have good ones.

Late lunch which will pass for dinner too as we need to leave about a couple of hours ahead of the appointment due to road closures and our dentist is not local to us, we chose to stay with them when we moved so that`s on us. Lunch will be a filling one as I won`t eat now till tomorrow morning after that.....now that`s a horror story....missing a meal!!!

Making French toast with some fruit for breakfast, Tom said he`d forgotten how good I make it (I will take all compliments happily ) so we`re having it a lot! Still haven`t decided what to eat round 2ish today.

And yay, here we are on a Tuesday and yep:



Hehe, Halloween on a Taco Tuesday. So fitting, as a Taco Bell run, makes easy hand held food just before you get all that candy to snack on.

Hehe, last night as we were going to bed, DH asked if we have candy for the kids tonight. Yep, and it’s not the bag you and the kids have been snacking on for the last week. And while it was mischief night, nary a not normal sound was heard, and didn’t see any toilet paper or other on lawn. Guess not as popular as when I was a kid. But thankful, as did have a nice sleep. Though was, with DH, up before our alarm went off.

Busier than I expected traffic this morning. And given today is when more people come into the office, even my best parking spots were already taken. No matter, I scored one of the last ones. And still fast even with a truck deciding to slow down to stop before turning with no turn light on, made it a few minutes longer, with it also then making me get a red light. But since had more traffic this early morning, ugh to the commute home. I’m really hoping they give us that minute before an hour to be able to leave earlier. Guess I will see, as many of my colleagues don’t get in as early as me, though there are more people in my building, as guy came fast behind me, as I entered the building. But he went to a different floor. And oooh still so dark out. And so maybe still might see that headless horseman.

And so, close to that middle of week, when thankfully, lazy Friday for me this week.

Finally, weather. Damp feeling morning with the overnight rain we got. And chillier feeling. 48 degrees when I came out the door and 46 when I opened my car door in the city. And weather guy said, will see more clouds than sun today, but rain should hold off for most of our area, though South of us, will get the best chance of seeing rain later today. Hence, may see those flashlights tonight, and we will have our stoop light on, probably no moonlight for those kids tonight.

Most Terrific Taco Halloween Tuesday to you all. Spooky day. Yay! Means the end of this month of October. Woot, Christmas is now less than 8 weeks. Woot, to Schumi for having some holiday park fun before next month ends.

Staying in the house cause it’s warmer inside than outside.

Sent Mr Mac to do grocery shopping and hope he remembers to buy candy in case we get trick/ treaters to night.

But if the rain does come late afternoon to early evening, doubt many kids will be out tonight.

Kyle wore his Michael Myers shirt and their story for running together was the girls were ghosts as they had been murdered by MM....lol....they looked really good. They loved the run too despite it being a little muddy after all the rain we`ve had. I`ll send you one of pictures he sent us last night.

Has he ever run a mudder? Ucky. Story awhile back some runners came down with some malady from germs in the mud

I can only imagine drilling into bone is not going to be pain free when the numb wears off!!!!

Get two ice bags ready so one can chill while other being used

My method is take enough happy pills to float above the bed, feeling no pain for first night

Sounds good. I’d have suggested a big honking steak. Yes I do eat a big meal day prior. God forbid I’d miss a meal or two lol

Yep, and it’s not the bag you and the kids have been snacking on for the last week. And while it was mischief night, nary a not normal sound was heard, and didn’t see any toilet paper or other on lawn. Guess not as popular as when I was a kid.

Ha I have to hide sweets too. Bought a giant tub of Reese’s cups at Sam’s 2 months ago along with the pretzel & corn curl bags. Took me a hot minute to remember where I stuffed them when I pulled them out to ‘taste tests for quality’ yesterday

Off to make a quick late breakfast & ten set up yard

Mr Mac said let me check your phone as his was not working due to a glitch

So he plays around on my phone and now heaven knows I now have to undo what settings he screwed up
