It was great to see that hump day reminder

It's still snowing here. Even though dh swept off my car when we left for work, by the time I left, I had to sweep off the car again. Thankfully I had my boots on....but the snow is half way up my calves already....and still falling. Thankfully I only have to drive around the city, and find I can get around no problems. My Izzy does great in the snow.

Messaged dh and he is still feeling quite ill - of course he's too stubborn to stay home from work. Good thing, he works alone in his office and has been chatting with his crews through video chats so he doesn't make them sick as well. He doesn't get sick often, but when he does, it takes him a long time to recover.


It is great you get to meet with your sisters and hang out doing things like that. I do miss living close to my family, and be able to do things like that. You are very lucky!

I am sending you all the vibes you need to get through this last semester! You will do it!
That is great news about your dh's book! That is quite the accomplishment.

It was lovely lunch Pumpkin, all their food is made from scratch in their own kitchen, so if something sells out, it`s gone, nothing out of a freezer, fairly small menu, but all so nice.

I think these viruses are taking longer than usual to clear from folks, a lot here have had a cold/flu that`s lasted up to 6 weeks, I certainly had that when we got home in October. Hope he feels better soon and yes, glad he works alone so can`t share those nasties.

We did go out in the garden to hopefully see the so called "Green Comet" tonight.....we could see it in the UK up till dawn, if the sky had been clear, we tried an hour ago, but no joy. It`s been 50,000 years since it was last seen. Shame it won`t be seen by the naked eye. We have very little if any light pollution around here which would have helped.

Enjoyed a snack dinner tonight as we had lunch out, made some chicken spring rolls and had them with some dipping sauce, just enough for us.

And another Wednesday evening almost over again......

Good Thursday morning

Going to be a decent temp today, around 50F, not too bad for February which really can be the worst month for weather.

I`m starving this morning for some reason, so had a slice of toast with tea when I came down, will have breakfast later with Tom though. Early lunch as I have a physio appointment early afternoon, then spicy chicken ginger stir fry for dinner tonight.

Got some shopping to do this morning and still haven`t found new bedside lamps I really want, so will keep looking. There`s a few stores I need to head to and have a bimble into and check them out too.

Time for more tea though before sleeping beauty gets up......

Happy Thursday to you, Schumi. Hope you find the perfect lamps today while shopping.

Phone flashed dense fog in the area, be careful if driving around the coast and parts of Orange County. Eh, we are going to use a bus to enjoy VB time a little later this morning. Then we will maybe drive to SW. Not sure. Sometime before 6pm, will go into the Studios today, as the Tribute store is open for a preview for pass holders only today. Since little one only has the lowest pass, due to concert on our last day, she is blocked from the studios on Saturday, and then would not be able to see the official opening of that store, and she really wants to see it.

Partly cloudy now, but full rest of day of sun. 84 the high, so shorts and suntan lotion for me. Friday and Saturday the high dips to 77, so will be our last days in the parks. Maybe will be in pants in the evenings.

Spent all day at Aquatica, then did a Target run, and said hmm, haven’t been back to Teak Neighborhood place for sone time, so went there and had a great meal and nice staff. Was getting much more crowded as we left. As partly close early this time of year, we enjoyed sone pool time, as pool is open until 10pm, then freshened up for the night.

Thus, with the heat today, we will be Thirsty this Thursday. Fitting, so hope all quench your thirst, as a day to feel thirsty, yes? Hope all have a terrific Thirsty Thursday.

Our airports and trains come to standstill for less!!! We are rubbish at coping with bad weather in this country! We always admire Canada and how they cope, I know they are used to it, but all the same……

When my friend had her firm before she sold it, she was a lawyer, she sacked one of her paralegals as she discovered she was on the internet all day every day, just on websites like this one, I think she’d get notifications if someone posted on the sites she read so she was on all day while not working.

My friend always said if she’d been doing something to further her qualifications she’d have allowed her personal computer time if business was quiet, but the fact she betrayed her trust by surfing the net all day was unforgivable, she got two warnings and still did it.

Would your bosses allow you to do something online if you asked? I know many won’t allow you to do personal things during work time If it’s quiet.








Looks like rain now, very cloudy out there, doubt we’ll walk far tonight, but hopefully tomorrow.

Quick Thirsty Thursday stop in!!!

It has finally stopped snowing - I think lol. Tonight dh and the boys will be moving snow when they get home from work. We must have close to 1.5 feet now that fell. They usually do a half removal while it's snowing...but this time they didn't. It will take them a bit of time to move all the snow. I think tonight will be chicken stew and buns for dinner tonight. They will need it to warm up after moving all the snow. I will be happy when I don't have to trudge through snow up to my calves lol.

Quiet night last night. We did videochat with our gd. Gotta love that we can easily chat with her like we do..unlike when my kids were young and my parents couldn't connect with them often. It explains when they don't have a strong relationship with my side of the family.

That is me this morning. I am waiting for papers to hit my desk to do my morning work. Good thing it doesn't take me long to do it once it hits my desk.

I do use my computer for some personal stuff - but I limit how much I do on my work computer.

I ALWAYS complete my work and there is never anything lingering. As soon as something hits my desk or needs my attention it is done right away. There is simply not enough to keep me busy ALLLLLLLLLLLLL day for EVERY SINGLE MINUTE. It is a boomer idealology about cracking the whip to make sure that people are CONSTANTLY working or micromanaging people until they are miserable is outdated and slowly changing for the better.

Had a very good physio appointment today. He’s pleased with my progress and although it hurts like a charm some days, it is improving.

Would your bosses allow you to do something online if you asked? I know many won’t allow you to do personal things during work time If it’s quiet.

For some odd reason I was thinking that I had to download some software in order to access my online books. I remember having to do some sort of initial set up last summer when I started taking classes again. It turns out that I don’t need to download anything. I spoke to my boss and she is going to let me use the office computer to work on my classwork when it is slow. (I still wish she would get wifi.) I can even bring in my laptop and work on photoshop projects. I don’t need wifi for that.

That is awesome. I know I did do some of my school work as well when I could. Especially when it was working on spreadsheets on in Word....as since it's part of my regular job, I was also learning how to use those programs - for the betterment of working here as well. I'm constantly creating/updating spreadsheets or using word to create things we need here.

Sometime you just need to ask It's not only for the betterment of youself...but also your job performance there as well!

I completely agree with the philosphy, but if someone is not doing their work, passing it on to someone else or sitting posting on message boards all day while pretending to work, I`d sack them too......boomer or no boomer. Being asked to do a fair days work for a very good pay is NOT having the whip cracked on them. My friend was being taken advantage of by a lazy woman who didn`t like the idea of work and preferred to comment on message boards all day. Different it had been for study or something important.

I`m like you......if I get a job to do, I do it there and then and it`s done, I hate procrastinating....I`m glad my friend and I are GenX

Glad to hear it Charade......I`m sure she appreciated you asking her if it was ok, my friend would have been as accommodating given the chance. Your day should pass easier now and not be so bored at times, that really makes the day go slow.

Well, if you`re done for the day with all your work done you don`t need to pretend

I never got into those ereaders/Kindles, I did try a Kindle, but lasted about 10 minutes then gave it away.




After waiting for months, the morello cherry gin wasn`t "all that". Nice enough but nothing special, we added some pink gin to give it an extra bit of flavour.

I looked back to some posts from 2014 the other night.....wonder where all those folks are.
