I just realized today isn’t Tuesday it’s Wednesday. I really need a vacation.

lol….its easy to do!

Since Kyle moved out last year we frequently wake up with not a clue what day it is!

Quick morning stop in!

Another record breaking cold morning. It was -48C /-56F

I always wonder why I chose to reincarnate this lifetime in such a cold temperature. My body aches when it's this cold, and to top it off, I tweaked my back after I unplugged my car . I shed a tear or two once I was settled at my desk and had a little pity party for me for a minute. People wonder why I hate winter so much. It's dark, cold, my body aches all the time and is tense from always being cold, and everything is gross and lifeless. I really do hate winter. Oh well, I will try to focus on warmer weather, sunshine and green lush trees!

I have to pick up gd and take her to swimming lessons, as dd flies out tonight for work. She was supposed to fly out this morning, but I'm assuming with the temperatures, they have cancelled some flights as it was just too cold. I am looking forward to watching her.


Nice! My last massage had - she worked on my neck and did some head massage as well. It felt absolutely wonderful.
My trip report is taking me longer - I tried last night and for some reason - I had weird screens popping up and had to restart. So I ran a complete scan on the laptop last night. Hopefully that will solve that pesky " telus survey" from popping up again. They REALLY don't want me to fill that out. Especially since we will be moving a good portion of our services to another company.

I hate when I make mistakes like that. But then I need to remind myself that I am only human - and we make mistakes.

I feel you on the " needing a holiday"

I can definitely relate to that It feels like we only get a few really good nice hot days - then it starts getting cool again.

Well, I should run. My work computer doesn't like some of the ads that are on the pages.

Yesterday @ Epcot We ‘beat’ Lynne & got a 3 pm return time. Ten hours in the park, my feet were very vocal

Later afternoon will be off to MK, extended late hours will help the cause

Got flight notice from SWA, north getting an ice storm overnight. Took them up on changing tomorrow’s late flight originating in DC at 5 am (it will never take off on time, they have a horrible record in good weather)

Poured over flightaware & found one around 5 pm out of Houston/New Orleans. Didn’t want to stress all night over scrambling for a place to stay at airport tomorrow if things went with It’s not a fun thing

We shut down all apps/settings & use data not WiFi 90+% of time get the am one

The afternoon seems more competitive and ir my theory…that they throttle the slots available if running behind

Never heard of that, have gotten many dreaded indian burns as a kid

PS no intended ethnic slur Don’t know what the PC term now is but, they hurt like heck lol

Hair all done and I love it, not as dark as I planned nice blonde colour, but least it’s not brassy! Sits on the shoulder so it’ll be a little longer by time we go in April. Lovely appointment though.

And tonight my friend J and I jiggled the evening away…..cha cha cha indeed! It is so much fun, I’m glad we started going, nice group of women and a couple of men too. Jumped in the shower when I got home and now having a cup of tea and more water!

Late bed tonight I think, fancy sticking a movie on!

Enjoyed HS, including a delicious funnel cake, snacked at our hotel, then decided to eat in DS instead. Nice to have a boat to it.

Camel is on leave, as we are. But he’s still here to wish all a happy hump day Wednesday, where one more sleep, and fabulous Friday a day later.

Glad we are missing the ice and rain to fall early tomorrow morning. But 10 day local weather lady said storm coming the day we leave. I’ll be watching my flight info as get closer, to see if I have to stay another night.

But most beautiful weather we have had. Love being in shorts day and night.

Had two weeks vaca, then flew to Bahrain to meet my boat play cop during an Iran/Iraq War. Chicago wasn't so bad after that.

Had a very rude awakening at 6:30 this morning - a rather loud thunderstorm. Hopefully the worst of that is over now.

I ended up spending an hour on the phone with Comcast yesterday. Our UPS backup was not getting any power. They weren’t able to schedule a technician call until this morning, so I had to listen to the beeping noise for the rest of the day.

Any possibility of moving farther south some day?

I left southern Illinois for a job in Chicago and then a move to further north.

Dh did his undergraduate work at Northwestern. He loved Chicago, but hated the winters. Graduate school was in Florida.

I am over due for a cut, but will probably wait until I get back from vacation. I also really need color, but that will wait until just before vacation.

We might get some snow next week. It would be awful to get stuck at Disney for an extra night.

Quick stop in before I head out for lunch.

Lots of little things to keep me busy with on the desk today.

The weather has (somewhat) warmed up. It's no longer that the 1 minute walk in the parkade from my car to inside the walkway my face doesn't feel like it's freezing off anymore. Don't get me wrong - it's nice to NOT have the any exposed skin will freeze in minutes gone - but it's still cold.

I will say - even though I was running late this morning, the sky was starting to show the start of daylight! The days are definitely getting longer now - thank goodness.

I'm off of gd duty tonight. Her other Grandma is visiting and will be taking her to swimming lessons. So it will be a quiet evening at home again.

It’s a tad cold for me where I am, but not enough to whine about it.

Once a month I clean out the upstairs rooms and hallways.

My cats like to follow me upstairs to help me……
I end up sweeping up kitty litter wherever they walk.

Basically the upstairs room floors are clean except when I forget to close a room off.


Anyone that has house cats will know how aggravating it is to step on tiny grains of kitty litter.

Good Sunday morning Sans family

Yes, we rarely walk on the sand, we prefer the promenade which runs for a few miles, better than walking on uneven dry sand which is like walking through treacle.

Yes, walking on the softer loose sand to get out to the wetter packed sand to walk on is hard to do.

I like that they built a boardwalk to walk on. There was another area near the pizza place we go to by the Ocean that had a concrete walk that you could walk on, but it was damaged during the last Hurricane and had to be removed.

I love elephants!!

Before ww2, my dad was an elephant trainer in the circus.

He would take brothers and I to the St. Louis zoo yearly in the summer.

Have Valentine's dinner booked and about to order chocolates from Cocoa and Cardamom in Houston. Her birthday is the 18th so I try to differentiate the 2.

I am not sure what is on the menu for tonight. I know dh has come down with a cold - so I'll see what he feels like eating and adjust it from there.

was looking for something to watch last night a d was happy to see The Mummy was on. I haven’t sent it since the original theater run. Unfortunately it was the Tom Cruise version. I decided to watch something else.

I never watched the Mummy movie with Tom Cruise. Heard it was not good at all and gave it pass.

The wind died down, the sun was gorgeous, so we went a walk in the woods behind us......

Looks like a beautiful place to walk.

Since the Mr had me book this trip for early Valentine’s Day fun, had him take the lead as to which parks/amount of time in them. Who knew I married a commando?

Up early this morning. Neighborhood is very quiet. We have a mix of folks still working and folks who are retired like us.

I did ride by bike this morning. I knew I needed to challenge myself or I was not going to progress as necessary after my fall. I was able to do pretty well. In the early morning here the wind has not picked up yet and it is easier for me to ride. The wind is usually Easterly coming in off the Ocean and when it is strong it is hard for me to peddle against it.

Hubby and I went out for a drive yesterday. We up to Sebastian and had a late lunch at a restaurant call Squid Lips. It sits out over the water. It has a nice view of the Marina and the Intercostal Waterway. It is so popular they built another one right near the original and they are both open. We had lunch at the older one. Will try the new one sometime.

Lunch was good. I had the shrimp basket and hubby had the fish basket and both came with slaw and fries. They had the best homemade tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. There was so much food in the baskets we could not finish it all.

After we left I saw a nice farm stand and I stopped for some tomatoes and other fresh veggies.

Sun was shining so nicely and it was 78 degrees. Hubby enjoyed his lunch.

Found out sweet little J was sick a few days ago. Sending a lot of healing prayers to my sweet little great-nephew. He is so precious.




Going to try and do some investigating for new interesting restaurants on the Ocean. We have our regulars we like, but I need to be more adventurous and look for more. Will be a nice treat to take granddaughter to some new places if she can make in down the end of the month.

I’am going to get out in the yard today and do a little tweaking in the front flower beds for just a little while.

It is supposed to be 80 degrees here today.

We have entered the weird phase of our winter weather. We were in the high 60s today. Here is our upcoming forecast.

That is weird, but very nice to get some warmth.

Weirdly I just go an email from one of our local restaurants, usually dinner would be around $100, Valentine`s special...$150!!! The menu isn`t even anything special.

Wow, that seems a little steep to me for a mediocre meal.

Where we live in Georgia is fine but it takes forever to get to know peeps.

That's not good. When we moved to rural tennessee, people stopped when they saw us outside and talked and invited us over. They even had impromptu gettogethers playing guitars and singing around a campfire. If we lived in the big city, I bet that would never of happened.

Your hair color sounds nice and you are going to let it grow til April! I have let my hair grow since early November, and am in that stage of hating and loving it? I might go for a cut next week if the temp gets above freezing!

I am really jealous of you! Our flower gardens are covered with 8 inches or more of snow! No flower planting until late May or early June.



Every place has it's good and bad points. When we lived in Tn. it got very hot and humid in the summer which was not pleasant. Also, they have a lot of poisonous snakes such as copperheads, rattlesnakes, and cottonmouths. Plus lots of bugs and fire ants. At least we dont have those here






It's Super Bowl Sunday, and I can't wait for the game to start! I made supper last night of sweet and sour chicken and rice and had plenty left for tonight, so no cooking during the game!

We are heading into the deep freeze for the next week, but thankfully not as cold as Pumpkin. We will be below zero for night time temps and cold during the days. I love to hear of the warm weather that some of you have.

I decided to make my greatgrandson, Rowan, a fleece camo hooded jacket. I made those for two of the grandsons many years ago. However, I seem to have forgotten all I know about making them now! I messed up on the pockets 3 times, !!!!, but now have it fixed and ready to sew. Then I get to put the zipper in! I'm going to hang in there and get this done. It's a good thing Spring won't be here for a few months, LOL.
