I was productive today despite the day starting out in 90s.

Front came thru, should drop to low 80s for a much needed break
It's a holiday sort of treat I make here as it has so many calories and sodium. I do enjoy my own as I like it a tad sweet, likely makes that caloric count even higher lol
My ex Italian grand mother in law would roll over in her grave if no ricotta in lasagne. At a big, family wedding once the catering company made the mistake of trying to pass odd small curd cottage cheese as a substitute. lol didn't go well for them.
Most of that era would pride themselves on having lots of layers in their versions. I have learned not to order it when dining out at most places as it tends to be a gloppy mess
Pepcid AC takes the red out of sunburn
Same. It was all about not being able to justify the cost early on...then, realized I can paint a basic nail to my satisfaction
I keep saying I want to try a pedicure but, feet so ticklish lol
Haha good for the G. part of a happy life is knowing when to stay in your lane.
Nice she was able to explore baking with others. So, is Tom going to pursue it now?
As long as you win the argument lol
Nice looking jars there!!! That`ll keep you going for a while.
I do like a sweeter cornbread too, 4Rivers do one with jalapenos through it and it is lush!! Yes, my Italian relatives use ricotta and agree, looking at restaurant offerings, it tends to be too sloppy looking. I much prefer the "British" lasagne, if there is such a thing, lots of layers and you can cut it into proper portions. Layer of pasta sheets alternated with meat, home made sauce with finely diced mushrooms, onions and lots and lots of garlic then one layer of bechamel/cheese sauce made from a proper roux, never store bought sauce, that would be a sacrilege. Nothing beats home made though, but there are some lovely restaurants here that do a very good one and never with ricotta over here, I`m glad as I don`t like it.
Well, I think he might give baking another go, he enjoyed it, but we do enjoy being in the kitchen together, he will have a bash at anything really.....couples that cook together and all that lol.....
Glad you`ve cooled down a little over there, there are some temps not worth bragging about as it is so miserable, talking to one of the hotel folks a few days ago and they were complaining about the heat, even just getting to their car was miserable. Our 78F sounds a lot more tolerable to be honest

mac.....have your temps cooled down any?????
It was a humid night for sure, windows and bedroom door lay open all night, slept fine though so it couldn`t have been too bad.
Walking a little later this morning, waiting for a parcel that has to be signed for, then we`ll head out, we do prefer walking early when it`s cooler, now it`ll be 70ishF when we do get out, brilliant sunshine so will need sunscreen, but we walk fairly quickly and it can be just too hot as there is no shade nor is there a breeze this morning. I`m going to have the huge red face when we`re done!!!!
Some shopping and then hopefully some sitting in the garden time doing not very much, our gardener is coming this morning to do the lawns now it hasn`t rained for a couple of days. They do need doing.
Chicken left over from last night will do for lunch in a salad, but have some little goodies for Tom to cook out for us tonight, got to take advantage as it could change in a flash! Breakfast in an hour or so, poached egg on toast for me, not sure what sleeping beauty will have, definitely a large pot of tea on the table, yep, no better start to the day.
Keeping myself right with the days here, all day yesterday thought it was Thursday.....yep, I`m going to think this is Friday aren`t I.......
