Someone STOLE our Christmas tree

Thats terrible! Only thing I can think is it was a couple of punk teens or something like that.
Just to give you a nice story, once, we walked out of Marshalls and actually found a wreath on the hood of our car! It was a nice little suprise for us, and gave a great Christmas smell to the house the entire season. I've since bought wreaths every single year to put on our dining room table, and NON smell as nice as that one.
Do you think it was an intentional surprise, or might someone have placed it momentarily on your hood (yes, I know, that shouldn't have happened period, but...) and driven off without it? Accident or intention, have you ever considered paying it forward?

thats horrible! but remember the tree isnt what christmas is about. you still have your christmas (:

Bah Humbug...sometimes PEOPLE are really NOT that high on the evolutionary scale, if ya know what I mean....WTH were they thinking????.
I hope you'll be able to look back at this some day and laugh...for now, I too believe in Karma...and what goes around comes around.....
sorry about your tree..:grouphug:..Hope your next one is even Better than the original, have a great holiday despite the CRAZY people out there,:rotfl:

Nobody needs a Christmas Tree. We all want one, but a Christmas Tree is not a need. It does not matter how hard up the people were who stole it. We're not talking about a couple of boxes of cereal for a starving family. This was somebody's tree that they paid for. They have no knowledge of hte OPs family, for all they know the OPs family could have been as hard up for money as they were and had scrimped and saved for that tree. Being short on money does not give anybody the right to steal, nor does it mean that they need a Christmas tree more than anybody else.

agnes!

It didn't have to be someone that needed a tree. I'm thinking it could have been trouble makers that just took it for the sake of causing havoc. Like the delinquents that go around wrecking holiday displays around here at this time of year.

That is so sad... every year on the news they show people who have had their Christmas decorations stolen right from their own yards, and some of those blow up things slashed, mangers being stolen, lights taken, etc... I think it's terrible. My DH wanted to put all these nice things in our yard, but I was so worried about someone stealing them, I asked him not to put some of the things out---they will go in the backyard (but then only we will get to enjoy them). It's pretty sad that people have to do these things to innocent people.

OP: I hope you were able to replace your tree.

Did you call mall security? The police? Bet the mall has security cameras that caught them in the act.

I found this in the mall parking lot, is it yours?

I hope it was a prank and no one was that desperate to get a tree for their kids. Once when I was very little, my parents were broke and my Dad waited until Christmas Eve to get a tree. He had the guy down to a quarter and the man took pity on him and said, 'oh he##, just take the darn thing!" I have a picture of my toddler self looking in awe at that tree. It's one of my favorite Christmas pics.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I am always especially saddened when people steal Christmas trees, presents or decorations. Don't let it put a damper on your Christmas.

As for the pp's comment, "maybe they needed it more than you"; I don't think she meant it has an excuse for stealing. Of course, that doesn't make it ok; but when I have had money stolen or something from my desk taken, I tend to say the same thing. Its just a comment meant to make the "stealee" feel better; not to excuse the "stealor".

I'm also sorry your tree was stolen.

I took it that way as well. Being poor doesn't mean you have a right to steal things, but the desperately poor are more likely to take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.

Actually, if someone scrimped and saved for something, chances are they're going to be more careful of securing what they just bought instead of leaving it out in the open while they go into another building. The very fact that they can't replace the item usually gives those people a reason to not jeapordize that item in the first place.

Once again, not an excuse for the lowlifes who stole the tree, but an answer for why people do it. They figure whoever has enough money to leave an item of value unattended has the means to replace it if/when it's stolen.

I own some land about an hour from my home, it has pine trees planted along the road. Every year about this time someone cuts down a tree, last year they took two. Dreading going down & see what tree(s) they took since they are all getting to big to be xmas trees, afraid they will start cuting the tops off now :(

Sorry about your tree op :(

You need to invest in some electric fence.

Putting out an APB...

Seriously though...sometimes I jut HATE people.

You need to spray your trees and post a sign that they have been sprayed. Nobody will want them in their house then.
