I'm really leaning towards getting the Winsor Pilates DVDs. Can anyone out there tell me more about the routine?

Is it easy? NO Does it work? YES! If you do it at least 3 times a week and take your time to learn the moves correctly.

Pilates is not something you can rush into, nor is it something you are likely to be good at in the beginning. Especially for those on the higher end of weight to lose (I had 80-100 pounds to lose when I started) it will seem impossible to begin with. Depending on what kind of shape you are in you may not be able to get through the whole thing (and I'm talking about the introductory video!) and there may be exercises you won't be able to do at all. Don't get discouraged. It took two weeks of doing the introductory video for me to get the moves down and feel confident with them. After that I stuck with the intro video a few more weeks until I could do all the moves successfully (though modified on some of them and even now I'm doing modifieds on some of the moves!)

yes it is frustrating but boy is it worth it! All the claims are true, you do feel taller, you do feel stronger and you are definitely more aware of your body at all times. It has helped my posture immensely not too mention I have much more muscle tone than I have in at least 10 years.

I love it and am dedicated to it. I see the results and they seem to be fairly quick for me, that's one thing I really like. I can feel and see the results so I am encouraged to keep going.

Good Luck in your choice, whatever you choose, stick to it and it will work!

Everything Disney_1derland said is so true! I haven't specifically done the Winsor Pilates but Pilates in general is great for toning, building muscle, improving posture etc... I do the mat workout plus the magic circle and barrel. It really does work and I actually enjoy doing it! It's not easy in the beginning but if you stick with it you'll see amazing results.

How is the weight loss with Winsor palates?I weigh about 130 and would Love to lose 10-15 pounds and be toned up before summer.
Thanks,
Misty

Hi Misty,

Pilates is great for toning, it reduces your stomach like you wouldn't believe! I'm not sure how much weight you would lose if you were only doing a Pilates program. It will increase your heartrate for some of the exercises but it's not continuous like with cardio. I would suggest incorporating it into a workout that also includes cardio if you are looking to lose weight.

Enjoy!:D
