I would like to have a logical explanation of why so many restaurants are being removed from the 2007 dining plan !!! :confused3 Especially Epcot and DTD. Downtown Disney was the perfect place to go seeing you didn't have to purchase park passes just to have dinner. It just doesn't make sense to me. :sad2:

It appears from several other post that the contracts for non-disney owned restaurants ends in Dec 2006. They have not resigned yet, but it is felt that they will be coming through and be added to the 2007 plan :goodvibes

The short answer is you are probably looking at an interim list. A similar thing happened last year, and many of us think the lineup on 1/1/2007 will look a lot like it does on the 2006 plan.

If you go to www.mouseplanet.com and read their weekly WDW park update, they did a good job this week of explaining a couple of reasons why some eateries were removed from the program, and it does mention that most of them are non-Disney owned establishments.

One major one (not that the loss of most WS restraunts isn't a harsh enough blow) is that Japan will be under refurbishment for part of 2007, so that is a possible reason why there are no options there. I think I read that part of China may be under refurbishment at some point that year as well?

I agree with Jim. The list in the 2007 brochure only includes the Disney-owned restaurants and eateries that are participating -- it doesn't include the restaurants and eateries owned by other companies. Once those restaurants and eateries are added in, the list might look very similar to the 2006 list.
