Some Stupid Questions about BWV

OK, we leave Friday (insert panic/obsessing here). We usually stay at OKW, so I have some questions:

What kind of coffee filters do you need in the 2bd and studio?

What kind of highchair is in the room?

Does anyone know the local access number for AOL? How hard is it to dial up?

How do you get to the mini golf by the dolphin?

If the bus service to MK/AK is really bad, any suggestions? (there's 11 of us so we won't fit in our car) I've read some of you get off at the swan. Could someone explain what you do (assuming I'm an idiot;) )

Thanks!! These trips are usually a breeze, but we're taking my DH's family--they haven't been there in 20+ years--and now two of my kids have mono :( so it seems harder than usual to get ready this year.

:) You will need the basket type for a ten to twelve cup coffeemaker.
Local access numbers can change so it's best to go through the setup procedure when you get there.
We did minigolf in December - lots of fun! You can walk over by the Swan and cut through the pool area or you can walk out the Swan's driveway and down to the entrance. It's not too far.
If you have a room close to the end of the resort, near to the Swan area, getting of there might work best. Otherwise stay on the bus....it's not that bad in my experience. Have a wonderful trip!:earsgirl:

9-407-264-1010 the cost is 35 cents per call. I usually leave it on for hours if I am surfing, still 35 cents.

The bus service is terrible in my opinion. We usually get off at the Swan. After you get off the bus, walk to the right and follow the walk way to the left. You will see the Boardwalk across the canal.
I usually beat the bus ,me getting to my room and the bus getting to the bus stop,by at least 5 minutes.

Good luck.

Adding to the above: The high chair is like a restaurant high chair, the kind with no top but you pull up to the table. Bus service is OK and as I understand it recently changed with BW now sharing with S/D but not YC/BC/BCV. As to AOL: be aware the rooms (at least the 1 and 2BRs; not sure about the studios) now have an ethernet hook-up in the room for high speed internet access and thus if you have an ethernet card in your laptop and bring an ethernet cord you can skip dial-up although you can still do dial-up if you want. Also, be aware the 1BR/2BR's now have dvd players (actually they are combined VHS/DVD so you can play either).

You've gotten good answers on the computer and coffee filter questions. No problems there.

I used to be so upset with the bus service at BWV. (We own there.) But the last trip down -- during the Christmas / NYE week, bus service was spectacular. I talked to several CM's at BWV who said that they had worked very hard to correct the bus problems. (We spent a few days later in our trip over at the Polynesian, and I was a lot less pleased by the bus service there.) You may have few (if any) bus problems, though, now that they've made some adjustments.

If you do, though, the walk over to the Swan is pretty evident. You will see "the bridge" at the end of the BoardWalk. Once you're on "the bridge," just walk around to the front of the Swan. (We did get off the bus at the Swan a few times when the Yacht and Beach Club were still on the bus rotation.)

Sorry I can't help with the high chair question. DS is 8 and wouldn't sit in a high chair even when he was the right size for one ;) !

Hope your trip is fun and memorable. (I'd say relaxing, but traveling with 11 people is not likely to be!)

As for the busses. I read on the boards this week that Disney has changed the Bussing to BWV. It now only shares a bus with the Swan and Dolphin. This should improve the bus service.

The Swan is a short walk to the BWV, so don't be shy about running there for Bus or Boat.

I have a tendency to use the Swan as a Boat stop when going to MGM, and use the Boardwalk as a Boat stop when going to EPCOT.

Hope this helps. :)

As I wrote just last week, the bus service from BWV to MK and AK

has NOT changed. It still includes Y&B and S&D.

We waited 40 minutes for a bus to MK on Monday, not an

estimate, actual timed waiting at the bus stop.

Regarding the BWV buses.
We don't rent a car whilst at Disney (too expensive) and we always get up early because of the five hour time difference so we often catch the first scheduled bus (wasn't it great when AK opened at 7am??).

We find it quicker to use the stairs to get from a Standard View room to the bus stop or out to the Studios footpath.

We were last home in October for the Food and Wine Festival. We found the Disney Transportation to be just fine. We took the bus to MK/AK/Downtown and the water parks without any problems. Coming home we would get off at the Swan and walk over to the BWV past the clown pool. The only exception was coming home from MK where we would take the monorail to the TTC and then on to Epcot, strolling through Epcot to the Boardwalk via the International Gateway.

Have a great trip.
